Hello everyone, been a few days. Sorry about all the illing babies. D is ok, just chugging along really. Pouring with rain all day here so have been puddle-jumping with DS1 and D in the sling under my raincoat Grin

Cots: DS1 has a Boori Madison cotbed and D will be borrowing SIL's Cosatto cot. I would have loved a second Boori but neither finances nor space will allow it for now.

Angielka · 20/05/2013 18:58

Cots: we have a John Lewis cot, which they must have stopped selling because I couldn't find it on the website... but for travelling have a bubble travel cot, which is fine for when they're really little but DD1 grew out of it pretty fast (although useful because they can double up as little tent for garden/beach) and a standard travel cot with high sides, which is nice and big, but heavy!

Louise85 · 20/05/2013 19:14

Angie thanks for the link - was so helpful to know that Ds is not the only one going through a phase - although he's just started so dreading the next week or two until he's over it...although he's still feeding, he's fussy and nap times are all over the place! Yesterday he only slept about an hour the whole day!!

Night times don't seem to be affected, but am just waiting for it to hit...all of us still have horrid colds and my throat feels like a thousand knives are cutting it - but hey ho, that's the way life goes!!

Dh is out at a work dinner, dc both fast asleep...kitchen done (rest of the house looks like a tip)...so I'm off to watch a bit of telly, eat some pudding and then a bath before early bed (as I'm sure after reading all these wonderful things about sleep regression that we'll be up all night Hmm )...

Also started Ds on baby rice & pear today...waffle waffle - sorry another long post Blush

Angielka · 20/05/2013 19:55

No worries louise. It does help, knowing that you're not alone, and that the end, while maybe not in sight, will come! Smile

Lostbobbles · 20/05/2013 20:13

Thanks for well wishes, Lois better in herself however cough and breathing is horrendous. I was advised that it usually gets worse before it gets better Hmm.

Angie- End of the bad in sight, im still waiting for a start to the good WinkHmm

Angielka · 20/05/2013 21:14

The good will start lost! Have faith Wink

AppleCrumples · 20/05/2013 22:46

Long day! Just got back from a&e with ds1. Knew my evening was shot when i got a phonecall from cubs..'its just a gash..well its bleeding maybe you should pick him up' Got there and it's a deep cut over his eye so we ended up in a&e as it looked like it might need stitches. Thankfully none needed but it took ages!

We all have colds now too louise sucks doesn't it?!

lost hope lois is doing better now.

Too tired to add anymore :)

Meringue33 · 21/05/2013 05:12

Ah Lost hope Lois is doing better, sounds awful :(

Apples/Louise sounds like we have the same bug :( Starts with a really sore throat then moves onto nose streaming, coughing and sneezing. LO has just started coughing and spluttering too :(

glorious · 21/05/2013 08:15

oh apples you must be exhausted, a trip to a&e is the last thing anyone needs.

Brew to all the cold sufferers.

We had a slightly better night last night despite Ellen starting as an overtired mess Hmm

Thanks for the cot and travel cot ideas. I love those pods but suspected they wouldn't last. I'll take a look at the others.

BuntyCollocks · 21/05/2013 09:20

Argh, I lost you all! We're all ill here :( also have hospital with dd today to see about possible allergy testing. Off to pop some ibuprofen. Hope all is well.

Angielka · 21/05/2013 10:20

We are all ill here now too Sad - sicky bug our way.

Get well soon everyone.

Bunty DD1 has egg/dairy allergies. The testing at the hospital was a little traumatic but necessary. Good luck.

Lostbobbles · 21/05/2013 12:29

Get well wishes to you all, so much going around its ridiculous Hmm

DD2 still wheezing and the inhaler makes her vomit. A friend has lent me her humidifier so will put that on tonight.

Not much else going on, just been out to pick up presents for the onslaught of birthday parties DD1 has coming up.

lollipoppi · 21/05/2013 12:37

Get well everybody!!

Lost, keep an eye on her wheeze and her breathing, did they give you a spacer to administer the inhaler? It shouldn't make her vomit, but speaking from experience I can't stress how important it is for her to have it x

lollipoppi · 21/05/2013 13:08

Sorry lost, just read that back and think I sound like a patronising twat ?? I will PM you x

Lostbobbles · 21/05/2013 14:02

Lolli didn't read it as patronising thanks for info.

So much for bm giving antibodies obviously mine is shit won't go into the sugar content it must contain either

Meringue33 · 21/05/2013 18:15

Ah Lost :( Sadly bm isn't magic, it's just the best we can do. People and children will still always get ill no matter how much we try to protect them.

This cold is awful isn't it. Feeling really miserable. Poor LO, I keep coughing and disturbing his sleep. And I worry he's going to end up with an ear infection as I seem incapable of completing a bf without coughing all over him. I should have one of those mouth masks :(

glorious · 21/05/2013 18:49

All these illnesses Sad

Particular sympathy to angielka for the sicky bug. I'm only just starting to feel normal again. They're the pits.

Lots of Brew

Louise85 · 21/05/2013 21:00

Oh my, we are all a cheerful bunch aren't we - can't believe we ALL seem to be down with this horrid bug

Had an interesting (downright horrible hope to never repeat) day...started with routine health visitor visit to check up on my mood (since hav got pnd)...noticed ds's weezing and said have u had him checked out? ummm, yes...last week...oh - maybe he should go back to the doctor?? so went to gp...who decided since he's only 17 weeks she couldn't make a final prognosis Hmm so sent me to a & e for referral...another 4 doctors, 7 nurse assessments, a neubliser, chest xray, 5 hours (with dd who is now completely bored out of her mind)....it's just a viral thing Confused ... a tad frustrating since I thought it was a viral thing and wasn't even that worried until Health visitor came round!

Meringue33 · 21/05/2013 21:51

Must be spread around the whole country!

Sorry to hear about your day and the PND Louise.

On a lighter note, in addition to the cold, my lovely piles are back. Ow my bum ow my bum ow my bum. So undignified Hmm.

octanegirl · 21/05/2013 22:07

Oh Meringue I hear you! I have a cold and piles too! Why oh why do we have piles when we aren't even pregnant any more???!!!!

OP posts:
Lostbobbles · 21/05/2013 22:56

I have bloody piles as well, which reminds me I got a prescription for them but the leaflet said don't use if pg or bf! So I need to call to check but never get round to it.

Louise sorry to hear of your shocker of a day Hmm hope your DS is ok though. It's not bronchiolitis is it?

Apples sorry forgot to ask earlier but hope your DS is ok today.

DH is back tomorrow but only for a day so not getting too excited, plus he didn't get my buggy. although its actually a good thing as think I have changed my mind on model I wantBlush

Lora1982 · 22/05/2013 00:15

Empathise with all the colds, we are all just recovering. Just the crap cough to go now. Ive developed some really itchy spots on my feet god knows what they are I will ask dr tomorrow if I get up intime for an appointment. I was never ill before getting preggers this malarky truely has sent my body to pot.

Anyone born pre 85? A few ladies in my town have had letters asking them to book a measles booster.

Also to the fenugreek ladies... tugs I know your one :-D how long do you take it for? Indefinitely? I started blessed thistle the other day I can't say ive seen an increase in boob milk and to be honest I think its sending my insides into a massive gas machine.

mrsbugsywugsy · 22/05/2013 02:45

lora I was borna long time before 1985 but nothing about the measles booster here.

yesterday was pretty awful, dd has now decided she doesn't want to take naps any more. I have been feeding her to sleep otherwise she would never sleep at all.

sorry to hear about all of the ill people. louise that sounds awful.

Lostbobbles · 22/05/2013 02:59

Hello Bugsy, our naps are crap as well, actually rephrase sleep in general is shite. Still can't get my head around the fact she has not managed even one night yet Hmm

Angielka · 22/05/2013 03:51

louise sorry about your day - sounds dreadful Sad

Please please someone tell me this will get better... up every 90 minutes since midnight. Have any of you with older babies come out the other side of this sleep regression/wonder week nightmare?? Have been feeding to sleep but even that seems to be failing now. Is Nancu *still sleeping through? If so, she needs to share her secret! AAArgh!
