Meringue that's good news that you found one you like!
Seriously HOW do they get them all to sleep at the same time!!??
DS is 2.6 and he goes for a nap along with about 10 other toddlers at 12.00 on.the.dot!!!! What's their secret!?

Meringue33 · 17/05/2013 22:26

Looked like a lot of shush patting going on!
LO has a temp and is out of sorts. We've stripped him down to vest and trousers. DM: "Are you not going to put his socks on, he could get hypothermia, they don't cry just go into a coma."

lollipoppi · 18/05/2013 08:51

Oh no meringue, how is he this morning?
Lovely comment from your DM, do you live in the North Pole? If not then im pretty sure he will be ok going to bed with no socks on Grin

DP has gone beach fishing this weekend geek basically an excuse for a massive piss up!

CreepyCrawly · 18/05/2013 09:37

What a thing to say meringue! I hope he's better today.

Lostbobbles · 18/05/2013 09:53

Meringue - hope DS gets well soon. Sorry but would of loved to see the look you gave your DM at that comment Shock

DD2 still not well either, bless her she is so full of snot and chest sounds like she has a 100 a day habit HmmHmmHmm

Angielka · 18/05/2013 10:08

Sorry about all the poorly babies - get well soon! Molly is all snotty too - DH used the snot sucker on her this morning. Truly disgusting but she could breathe much more easily afterwards Hmm

I went out! Dinner with the girls - three precious hours of me time - and Molly only woke once and DH got her back to sleep no problem. I highly recommend it Wink

Birdies · 18/05/2013 13:34

Hope all the poorly babies feel better soon.

We had success with a dream feed last night! I'd put her to bed at 8pm and she seemed quite unsettled. Started crying at 10pm so I picked her up and she did a massive burp ! Then I thought I may as well give. Dream feed a go and she had a decent feed. Then slept for 5.5 hours! It went downhill after that, but it's the longest stretch we've had in a row.

So worth trying if anyone else hasn't given the dream feed much if a go yet.

Birdies · 18/05/2013 13:37

Just read that back - I mean, it's the longest stretch we've had in the last few weeks.

Someone was also wondering about wonder weeks earlier - I've checked my app and theres a dark cloud and lightening flash between 14.5 and 19.5 weeks (am assuming that's a bad thing!). You have to go by due date though. So in theory only 5 days til ours finishes! Will report back on if that's true :)

AppleCrumples · 18/05/2013 17:00

Oh no birdies! I was asking but Ivy is only 16 weeks from due date :( please let me count from birth as she is 19.4! And after getting used to regular 6-8 hours between feeds at night it was every 3 hours last night

Am down to 3 dc tonight as ds1 having sleepover at cubs :)

Meringue33 · 18/05/2013 17:32

Thanks guys, he seems absolutely fine today Grin. Lolli I was very upset!

Hope the other poorly babies also improve soon, I blame this terrible weather! Woke up with a really sore throat myself. But must go out tonight as DM&DF are babysitting, our chance to go out since LO was born!!

Angielka · 18/05/2013 20:32

Enjoy your night out meringue - make the most of the babysitters!

glorious · 19/05/2013 08:21

Hope you had a good night out meringue . All better now and planning a week of naps and coffee shops with DM Grin

Sorry about the unwell babies Brew

mrsbugsywugsy · 19/05/2013 10:06

aargh, I am visiting my parents this weekend and normally good tempered dd has refused to nap the whole time and has turned into a screaming overtired nightmare. we are supposed to be visiting other relatives all day today and I haven't managed to get her down for her morning nap yet. am trying to think of excuses not to go. Sad

CreepyCrawly · 19/05/2013 15:04

Well, our 'nice Sunday spending time together' has so far been shit. DH worked for a couple of hours this morning. We went for a walk, he got hot half way round so headed home with the dog. He's just decided the lawn needs mowing, and has found some weed killer too so is spraying the drive. I've had enough of being by myself now :(

Hope you're all enjoying this lovely weather.

It's always the way *mrsb' isn't it?! Hope you managed to get her to sleep.

CreepyCrawly · 19/05/2013 15:05

Ah, and now he's got to take a bag of stuff to town for after his cycle tomorrow.

Angielka · 19/05/2013 17:48

Oh creepy Sad have you told him how it makes you feel?

I've been reading up on 17 week/4 month sleep regression and Molly is ticking all the boxes. Naps for the past couple of days have been shit, nighttimes she wakes as soon as she is put down, dribbling... all of it.

have a lok if you want to feel better about it all being out of your control...

AppleCrumples · 19/05/2013 18:40

Oh god angie thats Ivy! She has been screaming this afternoon she is so tired but only just fallen asleep in bouncy chair. Slept better last night but just won't nap properly in the day! Thing is i don't remember any of this with the others :( my only consolation is the fact all the rest are good sleepers and hopefully she will be too eventually

creepy to echo angie have you talked to him about how you feel? So much changes for us when babies arrive but not so much for men who often don't realise how we feel. He probably thinks hes being helpful doing these things.

Meringue33 · 19/05/2013 19:38

Sorry about the poorly babies, hope your day has gone well Bugsy.

Night out was great, so nice to wear a normal non-nursing dress and bra, hair down, dangly earrings, make up! I practically had to repierce my ears it had been so long and most of my make up has dried up. Talk about letting yourself go!

Love my mother despite her odd comments it was so sweet of her to babysit and she's basically the only person in the world I could not just trust LO with, but properly relax about it.

Ah Creepy, my DP likes stuff like that too. Sometimes I ban him and make him do what I specify [controlling nag emoticon]. At least it's useful tho and it's not like he's gone down the pub! He probably feels he is doing his bit for the family.

lollipoppi · 19/05/2013 19:53

Glad you had a good night meringue!

Creepy, DP does this all the time, we only get 1 day a week, a sunday, as a family and even the he has to go and open and close the shop, very frustrating!

I found a double buggy on gumtree yesterday, spoke to the person selling it today to ask if I could come to collect at 3pm, told yes. Called again as we were leaving to let them know we're on route and will be about 40mins .... Told ok no problem
Get there and they're not bloody in!!!!!!!
Called them and she said she has gone out and could we wait 30 mins!? Errrmmmm NO not after a 40 min drive and a baby and toddler in the back of the car! LIVID!

Lostbobbles · 19/05/2013 20:50

Creepy I was going to say same as apple, my DH thinks being loving and supportive is by doing things. They just don't get it but I've given up hoping he will and just tell him what I want now. and it still shocks him when I actually point it out to him from my perspectiveHmm

Not good start to day here, Lois's chest got worse during the night, so got out of hours appoint with Dr this morning, who wanted it monitored further, so went to A&E Paed. Anyway turns out its bronchiolitis, so have been given an inhaler fun and games that is but just have to ride it out and should get better in a few days.

Bed time has been awful so far already woken 5 times. Usual long night ahead....

Hope everyone else has been making the most of the suns rare appearance

CreepyCrawly · 19/05/2013 21:27

Yep I've told him, it just doesn't seem to go through. lolli it's the same here, we have a shop so no days off really. MIL runs it too, but is on the phone if DH is a bit late back in after lunch which is really pissing me off now. How rude of that woman!!

Glad you had a good night meringue. It's amazing how much better you feel with a bit of make up and normal clothes isn't it?!

Oh no lost, I hope Lois is better soon. And that these 5 wake ups are her getting the waking over and done with for the night!

lollipoppi · 19/05/2013 21:34

Creepy glad I'm not the only one! Vat return is looming and I just keep putting it off!!

Lost so sorry to hear lois isn't well, DS1 is on inhalers.
If you prop up her Moses/cot so she is slightly elevated it helps with the coughing, also, and you might have already tried this but Vicks on the soles of her feet x

glorious · 20/05/2013 08:31

Oh sorry about the chest lost, sounds scary. Hope Lois is better soon.

Much respect to those with shops, I don't know how you do it.

We're looking for a cot and travel cot at the moment, any recommendations or things to avoid?

happyhow · 20/05/2013 11:07

We got a standard mothercare travel cot which is easy to put up etc. It was £49.99 and is grey/green.

Had a lovely weekend. We had a complete slob about Saturday as the weather was crap and then I went out for a friends bday. Nursed my glass of wine for 3hrs and had two pints of water - not sure a glass of wine has ever lasted me so long! Yesterday, had a couple of friends round and ended up having a BBQ which was ace.

Supposed to have already left for our final baby massage class... Workmen were supposed to be here at 8am and turned up at 10am. They've now gone to get extra pipe etc. Hope they don't take too much longer but will now need to drive rather than walk and will probs be late Hmm

Nice day though so out for a bot this afternoon with a friend and another BBQ for tea!

mrsbugsywugsy · 20/05/2013 17:25

the weekend wasn't too bad in the end although it was very hard to get dd to nap thanks to overexcited relatives squealing and waving things in her face. luckily she slept all the way back in the car.

we have a koochi travel cot and we used it for the firsttime this weekend. it was fine. the sides are quite high and it was hard for me to lift dd in and out without waking her, although dp could do it as he is taller.
my worry is that we got it second hand and it only just occurred to me that we should have replaced the mattress (if you can actually get replacement mattresses for them). we covered the base with a blanket then a sheet, does anyone know if that's OK? I really want one of those pod ones though, perhaps it would be a good excuse to buy one...
