Hi ledkr, I've been thinking about you recently. I'm so glad you are feeling much better. Go Dilly with sleeping so well! You must be loving it, Grin at pooh pooh daddy.

wigglesrock · 17/10/2013 18:17

Just a quick hello, hope everyone is doing well.

Olivia got a date for her tonsils to come out - next Wednesday, we got a phone call today, so we really pleased. It'll also mean that she will have less time off school as she's off for 4 days for Halloween anyway. This was of great concern to her Hmm

Sofia won the student council election americanexpat Smile She was restrained in victory - apparently I was underestimating what a big deal it was Blush but she soon put me right!

We are heading away for the weekend tomorrow just the two of us Wink Very excited in the grown up bit of the Wiggles house.

Anna had her flu vaccine sniffer today, no bother with it. I got an indignant look after it, but a sticker soon soothed any ruffled feathers.

Romantic weekend, eh? [winkwinknudgenudge] Halloween Grin

L had the mist vaccine last week, has to go back in a month for a second dose. Hmm He was fine with it but I bribed him with a toy car.

Not much to say really, but I don't want you to drop off my threads.

Ledkr · 20/10/2013 10:16

Hi ladies.
I've not heard about a flu vac, do you have to ask?
Hip you having a nice weekend wiggs we are going next weekend, can't wait, but will miss the girls.
We are just off swimming a dilly gets withdraws if we don't go at least every week. Biooooooring
reastie wtf happened on your thread?
Good luck with tonsils little wiggs

ILovePonyo · 20/10/2013 18:16

I lost you! I wondered why the thread was quiet, its because you'd dropped off my threads I'm on :)

ledkr We had a letter from the doc about flu vaccine, I wasn't going to do it - but it seems everyone is Confused God yes A loves swimming, its such a faff.

wiggles enjoy your break Wink

Got to go, A is destroying the living room. Back later

Grannyapple · 20/10/2013 21:27

Hi ladies...hope everyone is well.

Yeah we had a letter about the flu vaccine in August...but couldn't actually get an appt til 23rd sep as they didn't get the he vaccine til then Hmm. But N had his & was totally fine. I think NHS advice is to contact your surgery if you haven't heard anything by end of October??

All fine here...well knackered but fine. Went to centreparcs at Longleat week before last...was good, tho obviously not a break for us as such, but N had a ball. Went to the safari park on the last day which we were quite impressed with...tho DH nearly had A attacked by the monkeys...I asked him several times if the windows were shut...cue me double checking as we were about to drive thru the gates & I notice that it looks a bit clear where A is...& oh yes...her window was fully down!! Can you imagine?! We'd have been on bloody national news or something?!

Just wanted to pop on to see how everyone is & to wish blizy lots of good luck vibes for her appt this week.

Reastie · 21/10/2013 14:34

Ledkr I know! What happened to the season of good cheer on there Shock . We had a letter about the flu sniff thing. Went to take ALice last week and they couldn't do it as she kept screaming and got in a massive state about it Confused . We are onto attempt 2 on Wednesday. If that goes pair shaped I'll give up on it I think. We are playing doctors alot with nose sniffing medicine at the minute to try to get her happier about the idea.

wiggles how was the romantic week end? Love the piccie on fb.

Granny Shock to the window. That's Alice's favourite thing to do in the car (no idea why!).

Am on half term now, hurrah.

Blizy when's the apt?

americanexpat · 21/10/2013 18:46

reastie - do they offer the injection instead of the mist? L had the first dose of the mist a week ago and was fine, but a friend reported that her DS was feeling poorly after it. I think it can have more side effects than the injection.

Ponyo - I was on the fence about the flu vaccine but a friend who works in public health pushed me towards getting it. L has been ill loads since he started nursery here (we all have) so I decided to have him get it and just had mine today.

blizy - Good luck with your appointment! I thought it was sometime in November. Blush

Reastie · 21/10/2013 18:50

American I asked the nurse about that and she just said mist was more effective but nth I'm not sure. She said it had never happened that she couldn't give it to anyone before

Thewalkingdeadkr · 21/10/2013 19:31

Ella was like that reastie I thank god she's never been ill as she can't cope with drs at all. She once had a sore eye so we went to a and e, when the dr came in she shouted "I'm better now! My eye doesn't hurt" and ran off!
I chased he around the car park once too for a blood test which she didn't have in the end!
Good jobs she's not me.

wigglesrock · 22/10/2013 08:54

Well the weekend was lovely, had a fab time, the girls were great with my parents. I got a cursory "you're back" and "whatya get me?" from all of them especially Anna Shock She hadn't stayed over with my parents since she was a baby so was expecting a bit of recrimination but no, completely non plussed about the whole thing!

Liv has her op in the morning, she insisted on doing her weeks homework last night to bring in today Hmm She is one step away from asking her teacher to give her work over the Halloween break even though the school is closed. I can sometimes see her teacher look at me & think how are they related ?Smile

Thewalkingdeadkr · 22/10/2013 13:03

Am I the only one who is struggling with "Halloween break"

blizy · 22/10/2013 13:24

Wiggs, I will be thinking about you and Olivia tomorrow.

Ledkr, I LOVE the name change!

Granny, oops to the open window.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes, my appointment is tomorrow afternoon. I havnt managed to get my bmi down to 30 (it's at 31), so I am very nervous about that. I dont want to be knocked back or judged by my weight. Suppose I just have to wait and see. I shall let you all know the outcome.

blizy · 22/10/2013 13:26

Oh yeah reastie, did you see that the poster on your thread who started things was also causing a stir on another thread, she had loads of pistes deleted there and enraging people again!

blizy · 22/10/2013 13:26

Pistes = posts.

Grannyapple · 22/10/2013 15:41

Ah good luck to Liv wiggs..hope all goes well. Well jel of your child free break...I'm in need of one of those already Wink

reastie as you seem to be the queen of all things to do with home/house, we're thinking if splitting Nate's room into 2 so he & Olivia can have ibe each, & making the ensuite in that room the 'main' bathroom. Had 1st lot if builders round this morning...contacted council to check what permissuons we need...all a bit scary & nerve wracking so any tips/pointers are v much appreciated! What's this thread you were on then?

Ah blizy well done on the weight loss...you're looking fab on the last lot of fb pics...everything crossed that the appointment goes well tomorrow xxx

flusteredmumto2 · 22/10/2013 18:01

Hope tomorrow goes well wiggles and well done on the weight loss blizy

We're all off Halloween half term so heading to bristol for a week on sunday to spend the week with dp. Not even going to look at college work! I'm finding the thought of uni very daunting and I'm trying to write my personal statement which really is hard!!
We're really looking forward to Halloween at Bristol zoo though Will be nice for the kids. Toms counting the days and freya just keeps asking for dp and where he is. They have such a lovely bond already it makes my life easier.
I need some tips on potty training though as freya still has no interest in using her potty or the toilet its getting irritating as I know she could do it but it feels like she's being stubborn.

Reastie · 22/10/2013 18:10

No I didn't blizy - I'll go an investigate! Probably just looking for an argument. FWIW I think you could very well argue your case if they did be stupid enough to quibble over BMI given how you've managed to lower your BMI in a few months, by the time it would get to your next appointment (knowing how slow the NHS is) you could probably be at the magic 30. What you've achieved shows how serious you are IYKWIM (hope that didn't come out wrong). Hope it goes well and shall think of you and look for an update.

Granny I read a mn classics the other day about centre parcs and anal sex and thought of you with your holiday Grin . How did I become queen of everything to do with the home?! . DO you mean tips as in how to cope with builders or tips as in design not that I have anything useful to say about either . Sounds like a good plan if you've got a big room and need an extra bedroom.

Ledkr another nn change lover of your here, is there a nn change competition on mn for halloween? If so, you have GOT to enter!

Wiggles hope it goes well tomorrow, I bet you'll be pleased to have it all done and dusted.

A mner is going to lend me her insanity the asylum hopefully . Weight has started plateauing and I need a new challenge.

Reastie · 22/10/2013 18:11

x posted flustered sorry, no potty training help here as Alice is refusing at present, but just wanted to say hello!

Grannyapple · 22/10/2013 20:35

Eh, what's this reastie about centreparcs Halloween Confused

Eh yes on both counts to your advice Grin, tho depending on how long the work takes, I may escape to Glasgow with the kids for a few weeks...

Reastie · 22/10/2013 20:48

apparently centreparcs is known secretly as home for the sex of anal variety, who knew?!! Erm, will think about advice not sure I have any

Gah, feeling really queasy with hormones today, grrrr.

wigglesrock · 22/10/2013 20:48

flusteredmum hope you enjoy the break. Don't worry about college, my friend went back to college & is just about to finish her first year (her course runs Feb - Nov), looking back she says she was so panicky but it was ok - hard work but doable Smile

blizy hope tomorrow goes well xx

Thanks for your good vibes re Liv. She's cuddled up with her new Fozzie Bear - she's a Muppets fan.

Thewalkingdeadkr · 22/10/2013 22:41

At one time when that thread was running it came up as top result if you googled centre parks!!
God luck wiggs for tomorrow and blizy

Just me surprised at "Halloween break then?"
Ella is as excited as she is at Xmas, for a big of trick or treating and a limp hot dog Grin

Yes Ive entered the comp, I trust u will vote for me, I want that den kit for my grandson!!

americanexpat · 23/10/2013 14:19

Good luck to blizy and Olivia today.

No potty training tips here, flustered. L will use the toilet but not consistently. Even if we put him on the toilet, he'll squeeze out a few drops then have a massive accident 2 minutes later. We try occasionally then leave it when he shows no interest.
