Wiggles, sad about the dog. I hope you are all enjoying your holiday.

Reastie oops to Alice and the frog!

I've had a rubbish weekend, I can't shift my anxiety over my appointment at the breast clinic (which still hasn't arrived). For this of you who don't know, I found a lump in my breast. Nothing seems to go right or me now. On a plus side I have a wee cheek day off work today, spent it cleaning so far.

Our schools start back on Friday so i will be back to being busy. I have 2 more little ones starting with me mon-wed and I'm waiting on news about a set of 1yr old tins starting with me too, they will only be coming to me on a Friday.

americanexpat · 13/08/2013 16:32

blizy - I hope you get your referral soon. It's probably nothing but it's horrible to have this hanging over you.

wiggles - I hope you're enjoying your holiday.

reastie - Grin at Alice (though I'm sure you're not pleased). We have a laundry chute to the basement and L loves putting anything and everything down it. I'm waiting for him to learn that he can put toys down the heating ducts. Hmm

wigglesrock · 13/08/2013 18:29

Big waves from a sunny North coast, am ignoring the sub Artic temperatures and concentrating on the positive Smile

Having a great time. Girls really enjoying themselves. Surprising myself at how relaxed it all is, we are splitting the day between the beach and the town centre/park/icecream shop Smile

americanexpat I am absurdly jealous of your laundry chute Smile

blizy really hope you get the letter this week xx, sending extra supplies of Brew , Thanks and Wine .

reastie when are you back to school? Smile

Right off to decide which takeaway to send Mr W to for dinner - not even slightly joking Wink

american laundry chute (is it really a 'chute', I really wanted to write 'shoot' Blush )? your place sounds like a mansion Wink . How's all the painting etc going?

wiggles got 2.5 weeks then back to school I think although it's less than that really as I need to prepare, so as soon as GCSE results are out I'll be getting back into things. Honestly it feels like I've been wishing this holiday away with wanting the kitchen finished (I still would like it finished please!) . Glad you're having a lovely break ( Envy )

blizy I thought they were suppose to send these types of referrals super quick to get you an appointment as quickly as possible. Hope you get it through soon, it must be the waiting around that's the worst. Did you hear when the twins are starting?

ILovePonyo · 13/08/2013 18:50

Hello all, hope all is well. We are back from hols and pleased to be home, though it was nice and A enjoyed herself, she was a bit of whinge monster Confused tho I've just been on hols so shouldn't whinge myself should I Blush

Just popped on for potty advice, A has had a few accidents in the past few days and has just stood NEXT to the potty and done a wee Confused is this normal?! She's been fine for ages.
Although its just occurred to me that she's only done this at home... Does that mean anything?

Blizy hope you're ok. Sounds horrible for you, really hope you get your appointment soon.

Ledkr · 13/08/2013 19:03

blizy you should be seen within 2 weeks love.
I had breast cancer 20 yrs ago so I know what you are going through but most lumps are benign and harmless.
You can't help but worry of course but you've faced more than this before.
If you can't wait pay to go privately its about 300 quid but stick it on a credit card fuck it.
Pm me if you want to talk xx

americanexpat · 13/08/2013 19:10

The laundry chute really isn't glamourous, it's a little door in the wall with the world's narrowest chute that gets jammed really easily. DH was doubtful at first and insisted he would never use it but he came around within a week. Grin

reastie - the bathrooms are nearly finished, just a few touch-ups to do and switches to replace. I'll post before-and-after photos on Facebook when I've cleaned up all the paint from the floor they're finished. Grin I'm desperate to start the living room but I think I should take a break from DIY for a while.

wiggles - beach, ice cream and takeaway sound like heaven. Such a pity the girls are there too. Wink Grin

Ledkr · 14/08/2013 06:44

ponyo how did a settle back home after holiday?
D is driving us mental as she is waking up in the night (as if that didn't go on long enough before) we are so tired.
Dh goes and sits with her but it takes a while and I've asked him not to.
Did anyone see my heroic moment.
I sent linerunner to drs pronto with worrying symptoms.
She had a PE (clot on lung) and could have died Shock I do have my uses see!

ILovePonyo · 15/08/2013 10:04

Ledkr A is not as bad as D by the sounds of it but she is unsettled, every night she gets out of bed and comes into our room wanting to get into our bed, sometimes I can just put her back in her bed sometimes she gets upset, it's tiring! Hopefully she'll settle soon enough...
I didn't see your heroic moment but well done! Grin

Does nobody have any idea about A's frequent accidents? It hasn't happened at nursery this week just at home. Confused

Hope everyone is well, blizy any news? x

Ledkr · 15/08/2013 11:01

D slept better last night tho but she's doing my feckkng head in today. She literally doesn't stop being a pain in the arse.
I'm bloody sick of her. She goes from one thing to another.
I've got the rage.

ILovePonyo · 15/08/2013 11:43

Hm funny that ledkr, A has been somewhat 'challenging' recently, everything we ask her to do Is answered with 'No!' Or her new favourite 'nuffin!' Hmm It's like a small teenager. She had also been so whingy.

I was planning on getting rid of her dummy soon but no chance, it's not worth it!

Ledkr · 15/08/2013 22:12

Had a day getting judged.
First the lifeguard shakes his head and suggests she wears arm bands.
She swims underwater and better than most five yr olds!!
I know it's unusual but fuck the fuck off.
Then a consignment if yummy mummy's are talking about "the two yr old on the play area" like she's being neglected (Ella was with her and we were right by her too)
Dilly is very small but very agile and strong so I think we have a few yrs of this. People think we are lax but she's capable of so much for her age and size.
She slept better last night but is favouring a 6.30 start at the moment Hmm
We are having a nice few days before we are back at work and its quite nice.

Reastie · 16/08/2013 07:51

ledkr I know I shouldn't but I Grin at your posts about D and your comments about her. She sounds like such a handful.

Any nice plans for the week end anyone? I have invited the PIL out with us tomorrow (I know Shock ). Can I have brownie points please?! Tbh I'm just excited to be going out having spent the past 5 week ends on painting/decorating/DIY.

Oh, met up with itsokay yesterday, I forgot to ask her if she says hello to you all but I'm sure she does! Ben kept trying to play with Alice but she was unsociable and was having none of it Confused .

Ledkr · 16/08/2013 08:30

reastie you ever hear from deb?
Yes she is handful for sure. Me and dh are exasperated by her.
Independent over confident and very determined.
She is starting some hobbies this year.
Ballet and swimming lessons (she's jumped straight in with 4-5 yr olds) I might be telling this story in a few yes when she's in the Olympics.

Reastie · 16/08/2013 08:43

wow, ballet and swimming with 4 - 5 yos? That's v. impressive. It's nice for her she's so confident. I wonder what she'll be like in her teenage years Wink . deb from what I can tell on fb is a very busy lady working more hours and doing some kind of course (not sure what exactly)

Ledkr · 16/08/2013 10:59

Ill be old and senile in her teens Grin so I won't care.
It's just I started a thread about positive post divorce stories and deb just came on and said thanks led with a flower emoticon?? It made my mind boggle.
She may lurk so come on deb show yourself!!

americanexpat · 16/08/2013 18:36

Ponyo - is A unsettled about something? Maybe the holiday? So many things can cause toilet and sleeping problems!

ledkr - Whenever I tell people L's age at a playground, they say, "Oh, he's big for his age." And I reply, "Oh, is he?" He's a very fearless capable climber but I don't think he's especially tall.

A 6:30 start would be an improvement here. Hmm He was up at 5 yesterday and came into bed with me at 5:30 this morning (thankfully went to sleep).

Have had a massive work deadline this week so have been working full out since last week. I'm hoping for a quiet weekend full of DIY, unpacking tidying and naps. Grin

Ledkr · 16/08/2013 23:04

It's so early isn't it? I'm struggling by 5ish I just have no energy. Today I had a lie in till 8.30 And felt much better.
She was waking at 9 on holiday.

blizy · 16/08/2013 23:39

I have my appointment at the breast clinic on the 27th of this month.

Ledkr · 16/08/2013 23:57

Good. Who is coming with you.
My clinic does ultrasound there and then so you might get instant reassurance. I hope so.

wigglesrock · 17/08/2013 06:57

blizy good, I'm glad. Our clinic is the same as ledkrs.

I think this is the first time in 8 years I've been up before any of the kids Shock . Mmmm tea in peace! We're heading home this morning, so just getting organised ie getting rid of the copious sweet papers, takeaway evidence and empty wine bottles!

ponyo How is A and the potty? (sounds like the title of a childrens book Smile )?

Ledkr · 17/08/2013 08:49

It's lovely wiggs isn't it? I did that on holiday. Even in a camping chair the tea tasted good.
Glad you had a good un.
Dh and I have had a week at home. We drank wine every night which was a bit naughty and have just spent our days either at the pool or sat around. Very nice but so hard to go back to normal.

americanexpat · 19/08/2013 21:17

blizy - great news, not long to wait now. xx

Grannyapple · 20/08/2013 18:37

blizy good luck for appt next tues.

Not much to report here really...DH back to work tomorrow so will be interesting flying solo with 2 in tow Hmm

wigglesrock · 20/08/2013 19:51

grannyapple good luck for tomorrow, you'll be fine xx CBeebies to the rescue

blizy how are you doing? I know a week can seem like forever xx

The girls are back to school on Thu week Shock Can't believe how quickly this summer has gone. They are so excited about going back - they're not the only ones Grin

Have just made the mistake of nosying around Sainsburys 25% off clothing with Sofia. She did some kind of Jedi mind trick on me - somehow I went in for milk and she ended up with new boots, shorts/tights and tops Envy
