ILovePonyo · 31/07/2013 08:25

Congrats granny! Lovely name :) (same middle name as me!)

Hope you get lots of rest now.

Spot watch - spots have gone Shock She seems fine too! I think wigs was right :)

blizy · 31/07/2013 09:13

Granny amazing news, huge congratulations to you, dh and Nate! Amelia is a beautiful name. I hope you manage some rest, looking forward to seeing some pics. X

Ponyo, phew I'm glad they have gone. I hope you ve a fab holiday!

Must be the day for new arrivals, our good friends had a baby girl last night too . Although it feels very bitter sweet for me. Of course iam so happy for them but I am also sad for dh and I.

blizy · 31/07/2013 12:37

Just had a phone call that my fertility app has been cancelled due to dr holiday,,it will be rescheduled for around 3-4 weeks! I'm kind of relieved as it gives me more time to lose weight!

Reastie · 31/07/2013 13:38

Hmm blizy surely the doctor knew (s)he would be on holiday then Hmm . But, as you say, those 3 - 4 weeks will give you a good chance for more weight loss - how much have you lost/got to go? Great news for your friends but I understand it must feel really hard for you. Your time WILL come.

ponyo glad spots have gone - phew!

Ledkr I now have imaginings of you saying 'but she's GINGER!' upon seeing Dilly for the first time Grin

Ledkr · 31/07/2013 17:13

No reastie I just thought "well that's not one of mine"
Ha ha
blizy bummer about the appointment but yay to more time to diet. Must be bitter sweet for you about granny's baby. I remember that feeling only to well, very confusing.
Big hugs.
It's bloody hot here today. I'm a tad pink. We had to leave the pool as dilly was getting hot and asking for dinner.
Thank god for tinned ravioli as we wil be BBQ ing later on.
The pool is open till 9.30 and we are right by it so Ella is happy with her new found mates.
I did such a funny thing you know, I bought a book!!
What ever was I thinking of?? Will be another year or two before I'm able to read several books on holiday I should think.

ILovePonyo · 31/07/2013 20:42

Oh blizy, I imagine it must be bittersweet for you. I was all ready to be super offended on your behalf about the appointment, but if you're ok about it so I am :)

Ledkr I am always thankful for tins of peppa pig/my little pony spaghetti, A will usually eat this when nothing else is available Grin pool sounds lovely. I've got my kindle with me for hols but not much hope of reading it...

We are at my mums, ready to fly tomo. Took A to a pharmacist who said the few spots left don't look like chicken pox and agreed about it being a virus. A also has a massive ulcer on her tongue bless her so reckon she's just a bit run down. All ready to go tomo, got a bag of distractions for the plane, DVD player and iPad Shock reckon we'll be we'll set :)

Have a lovely week everyone (although ill prob be checking in on my phone anyway haha)

Ledkr · 31/07/2013 21:07

ponyo I quake at the idea of dilly on a plane. I took all my dc around the world on some long damn trips with no issues but the dilster is a different kettle of fish.
We are sat outside our van on a lovely balmy evening but she won't sleep and even calm dh is getting pissed off.
She wants Ella but she's at the bar with her mates Hmm
Have a great holiday xx

wigglesrock · 31/07/2013 21:31

ponyo have a fantastic time, and remember a quick glare or nip at an unsuspecting child will ensure A is angelic by comparison Wink

ledkr Smile at Ella.

Soooo tired after our day out, am too old Smile

MizK · 01/08/2013 13:44

Congratulations, granny such a beautiful name, lots of love to you all xxx
ledkr glad i'm not alone with explosive incidents, still cringe when i think of it.... Glad you hol is going well, especially for your little social butterfly! Hope D snaps out of bedtime grumpiness for the rest of your trip x
blizy the extra few weeks could make lots of difference re weight, could be a blessing in disguise, means they will have no excuse not to start your treatment.
ponyo good luck with the flight and have a great time :)
emski hi, hope all is well lady, i am a lurker much of the time also but feels good to be back in the loop, however briefly!
wigles day trips are knackering, all that fresh air and walking, wheneverwe do one i'm sparko when we get home!
No exciting happenings here, Cassia is being a whingey pants, and only Peppa Pig can appease her, we are waiting for DP to get in so we can get out in the sunshine, probably to the park. Only issue with all this Peppa action is that C is acquiring her accent, as in saying sandcarstle and barth - we're from Nottingham so it jars slightly with the local accent!

americanexpat · 02/08/2013 17:44

Granny - congrats, she is gorgeous. How are you feeling? Saw a tear mentioned on FB - hope it's not too severe.

blizy - rubbish about the appointment but as you say, more time to lose weight. How close are you to your BMI goal?

reastie - which Mary Berry book do you recommend? I have some Amazon UK vouchers expiring in the next week or so and Kindle books are really the only thing I can spend them on.

Reastie · 02/08/2013 18:43

american how much time do you have? Grin . I have her complete cookbook (or an older version of it) which is fabulous for all types of things and one I always refer to for recipe's. I also have her simple cakes book which has some lovely and easy cake recipe's (the key lime pie is one of my favourite but most easy pud recipe). The baking bible is a great baking book as is her cake book but I wouldn't buy both of them as there is a bit of overlap on some of the recipe's. Sunday best chocolate fudge cake is one of my faves from the ultimate cake book. Those are probably my most used Berry books. She's the best, honestly, none of her recipe's have ever gone wrong for me. Sorry, just realised I've linked to the actual books not the kindle versions so not sure if that's any use.

Hello mizk. Love C's accent! Alice talks a bit like DH. Which is not good! Everything has a mmmm or wwwwww or fffffffff sound (like barf instead of bath).

ponyo hopw you have a fabbo holiday.

Well, it finally happened, I had a builders/kitchen meltdown this morning. Still not finished and we are having problems with the kitchen company (see my DIY thread if you fancy a bore)

americanexpat · 06/08/2013 17:02

blizy · 06/08/2013 17:22

Very quiet here over he weekend, hope you all had a good one.

Reastie · 06/08/2013 18:42

Grin . How is everyone?

I think the new flooring might be finished tomorrow and we may actually be able to use our kitchen and dining room. I've never been so desperate for a dishwasher!

Not much else going on down here. Have copied wiggles and booked tickets for room on the broom live later this month though. Alice being extremely spirited still, I'm putting it down to the building works....

wigglesrock · 06/08/2013 19:03

Evening all Smile

reastie was just about to ask re the kitchen - you must be excited Smile

blizy beautiful photo on FB - twit twoo Wink

Anna has also decided to shriek everything - I think 5 weeks into the summer holidays my patience may be wearing a bit thin!!

We are getting our dog put down tomorrow, I think. So we're a bit blue - she has appt at vet tomorrow just to double check. She's very old, losing her mobility and continence and is in pain. I wish it was already done Sad . Mr W got her from the pound for me 11 years ago, when I thought I couldn't have kids, I know its the right thing to do, but it's very sad. Anyway enough sadness, but I have discovered Sofias mercenary streak - she's already preparing a campaign for a rabbit

Hope ledkr and ponyo are having fab holidays!

blizy · 06/08/2013 19:57

Aww thanks wiggles.

Sad to hear about your dog, pets really are part of the family. I hope you are all ok, hugs for you and the girls. X

Reastie · 06/08/2013 20:21

Oh wiggles Sad so sorry to hear about the dog. x

americanexpat · 06/08/2013 20:32

So sorry about your dog, wiggles. It's a very difficult decision to make even when you know it's the right one.

wigglesrock · 06/08/2013 21:46

Thanks Smile , we'll be grand - I'd just rather it was already over. To be honest I haven't a doubt that it's time, sods law that Anna and the dog are as thick as thieves Hmm The other 2 didn't really bother with her, she was just always here, but Anna adores her!

Although we are heading away on our staycation Wink on Saturday - girls very excited.

Am watching DVD - Warm Bodies, it's very very good. Has zombies in it - know we can be partial to a bit of zombie storytelling Smile

Have posted a thread over in health, I could do with some good vibes and hand holding please ladies.

Grannyapple · 07/08/2013 01:35

blizy lots of handholding here...

wiggs sorry about your pooch Sad

americanexpat · 07/08/2013 15:56

blizy - we're here for as much handholding as you need. Hopefully it's only a cyst and you get your referral soon.

reastie - I can't find your thread in Property. How did it go getting the problems sorted?

Reastie · 07/08/2013 19:05

wiggles how are you all? x

Blizy am on your thread, Sad .

Well, no finished kitchen, knew I spoke too soon! Some problem from the floor man (I'm beginning to be less than sympathetic with his long list of excuses for taking so long) so won't be finished until Sunday . But we have a working dishwasher

wigglesrock · 07/08/2013 19:20

Well it's done Sad , I feel better now than I did last night. The girls were great, Sofia had a bit of a weep, Liv offered me an out Smile , she asked when I told her that the dog wasn't coming back, she said "oh is she staying with the vet forever?" For a split second I contemplated the living on a farm with lots of other dogs a la Friends Smile , but I put my big girl pants on and explained it in detail. She has asked for a fish Shock . Anna has simultaneously said "I miss the dog" and "I want a cat - a blue one!"

We are actually heading off on holiday on Friday, it's a friend of my Mums house and it's free a bit earlier Smile Mr W isn't off until Mon night, so I've got the 3 kids at the seaside and he's got a whole weekend free in the house with no kids, no dog and no me - hmm I think someone has been had Shock

Reastie · 11/08/2013 19:11

wiggles hope you're OK after Wednesday. How is the holiday going? Loving the photos on fb, looks like it's fab.

Our new flooring was finished on Saturday afternoon......then on Saturday evening we discovered a leak in the dishwasher after Alice had put her toy frog in the pipework before it was plumbed in so now we have to have some of it redone , it's never going to end is it?!
