Rodeo I'm with you now that's my idea of camping Grin Beks

ChaCha · 12/05/2006 14:41

Hello everyone :)

Beks - PO queue was horrendous, will try again tomorrow.
FWIW, my friend has newborn and 3.5yr old DD. DD is having lots of tantrums and wants to now be b/f, winded, get into cot etc. Doesn't like mummy feeding baby all the time, is used to lots of one-to-one. I took her to coffee shop this morning, she picked a gingerbread man, thought great, we stood in the queue and she started crying and 'I don't want it', had to quieten her down and it turned out gingerbread man had a yellow smartie nose and she wanted a pink one!!! Oh Boy!

Playpen sounds like good idea. Must get one. Z rolls over several times until at other side of the room usually face down smothering himself with something. Is quite scary.

Tessasmum - Can u recommend camp site in the south? particularly wales, LO on my lap now sorry if misktakes, I'd like to i k nwo which is good and a rough budget if possible. then i can nag Dh.

bob - hor ware you todahy? Hope al l is well.

Great, paperwork on desk is being destroyed

gotta go, have a lovely weekend everyone and take care of yourselves. Oh and ?Diege, thanks, we went to a coffees shopinstead was lovely.

Rodeo · 12/05/2006 15:20

Quickie before the school run :)

Chacha, I hate PO's Grin too hot tobe waiting in a queue anyway, just starting to cloud over here (just in time for the weekend - nevermind) Couldn't be doing with the toddler though. I thought Joe was bad! What a madam!

Gave some maternity clothes to a girl at Joe's playgroup today, she's due in the next few weeks but hasn't got any summery stuff, she had some black long trousers on yesterday and was sweltering! Asked her if she had any names ready, as I don't know her very well, and she has got Declan, Corey, Kane and Harley/Harvey? in mind. 'Ooooh, nice' was all I could manage in a not very convincing way Blush

Right going top order some cheap shorts from the Next, having just looked at our dire bank balance, oh dear!!

OP posts:
ChaCha · 12/05/2006 15:29

Hey Rodeo - With you on dire bank balance. Same here. I've just realised that I hardly buy myself anything anymore anyway. I've come home with pictures of LO, a new three piece summer suit for him and a cap and matching sandals. What happened to me?!?

Sun is not as conspicuous as it was y'day.

I'm on here finding time to relax. We've guests again tonight. No motivation to get up and go, bed linen from last weekend still in washing baskets. I just want to laze and I will :)

Rodeo · 12/05/2006 16:05

Good on you Chacha, laze away Grin Although you can't properly laze with a 6 month old, we all know that! I'm at work later, that's my excuse for lazing around today :) How were your pictures? Were they the baby comp ones? Are they the one's you put on Yahoo? So many questions! I'll have a look!

L&Smum, when is the Telegraph's baby of the year paper out? Let me know ad I'll vote for Seth :) Looking forward to next week, we may have a new car by then!!

Right better go, J has just been sick on the carpet......

OP posts:
ChaCha · 12/05/2006 16:19

Hi Rodeo - I'm terrible and I'm sorry Blush I actually giggled when you said J was sick on the carpet. I keep remembering DS in his bouncer skating on the sick that had landed underneath him on wooden floor. I find a lot of what LO does at the moment hilarious and now that he chuckles when I do it's even funnier! Hope you got the sick cleared up without too much hassle and that J is okay.

Question for Jane travel system peeps. When do you start putting them into pushchair position? i.e. not in pram facing mum position. DS seems to be getting big (pls see photo and see what you think) he also opens the velcro thingy that keeps him in - found him wriggling out of the pram the other day, backside almost at bottom, legs dangling out sporting triple chin and smiling. Heart stopped as I was up in the loo but ended up giggling as usual.

Rodeo - Yup you have license to laze if you are working tonight. Laze all you like. Photos are just some I took in garden y'day. Portraits are ones I picked up today, they are okay, grandparents will be chuffed.

Right, definitely off now. thanks for the chat x

Rodeo · 12/05/2006 16:42

Grin don't worry she's fine, just the usual after mealtime dollop! More concerned about carpet, although don't know why, it's had allsorts slopped all over it......

OP posts:
GarfieldsGirl · 12/05/2006 18:31

Hiya! Smile

Lovely day here again, just getting hotter and hotter! I'm sure weekend will be different. Grin

Rodeo - glad your feelin a bit happier, best wishes to your gran Sad. IKWYM re carpets, I bought our house from parents who'd put in a cream carpet, you can imagine the state of it!Grin

Brownie - glad T is on the mend Smile

Tex - you look fab in your pics on yahoo. Your old bf has probably filled out in all the wrong places anyway, you have nothing to wory about nexxt time he's in town!

Diege - bars on windows! lol Shock

ChaCha - you've reminded me that I need to look for a photographer to do baby & family photos.

Sean and I are starting a Tumble-Tots type group next week. Its a bit closer than the TT sessions to us, so fingers crossed will meet some other nice mums & babies. Will be doing Socatots too when he's walking as they don't do phase 1 here.

I filmed Sean yesterday for about 15mins crawling round and giving me the biggest smiles and laughs and chattering away. Then realised it hadn't recorded Angry so gutted.

Shock just had a message saying i have 125 new e-mails Shock mst go and investifgate.

Enjoy yiour weekends, hope weathers nice for us all Grin

Diege · 12/05/2006 19:44

Sad Sad Sad The chicken pox has arrived, no mistaking the rash this time. Thought we'd got away with it too, but not to be. Have to be philosophical (they all get it at some point), but will have to try and cadge some time off at work to look after her (and poss dd1 and Libbs!!!), though DH will share the load. Just really disappointed that I won't be able to make the Meadow Hall Sad. Well, feeling really sorry for myself (wrong, as it's not me who has it!!). Will post later in a less-self-indulgent way!!
Oh yes, one answer to I think CHACHA'S q? I have been using Jane buggy for about a month now (facing outwards)though find the harness a bit of a faff. Tend to use the good old Maclaren instead Smile.
Right, off to sulk...
Diege Smile

twinkle1 · 12/05/2006 19:53

twinkle & josh

LaylaandSethsmum · 12/05/2006 20:21

Rodeo Baby of the year comp is in on monday 22nd may yes make sure you vote for him!!Smile

DiegeSad about meadowhall but there is a week still to go things may be ok by then ?

Twinkle are you not going then now?

Diege · 12/05/2006 20:42

L&SMUM, think she will still be infectious by then, as the rash is only just coming out now. Read up on internet, and it says 1st stage lasts a week or so, then spots crust over and they are OK. THink dd1 will probably come out in rash too over next few days, though apparently Libby should be OK as babies under 12 moinths have immunity if their mums have had it (I have!).

ChaCha · 12/05/2006 21:02

Oh Diege - Poor you, poor DD! :( At least you've support with DH being around. Thinking of you.

GG - More giggles from me at your camera not being on Blush Hate it when things like that happen. Big Bummer!
TT sounds great.

Change of plans here this evening. Nice quiet night just me and the LO. Will log on in a bit if anyones around. x

Rodeo · 13/05/2006 10:54

Morning :)

Diege - Oh no!! Not the pox!! :( Could we postpone MH for the first/second week of June? What do you think Twinkle, L&S?? Keep an eye on Libs Diege, Joe got it at 7 months, although wasn't too bad actually, the spots didn't bother him to much but I think he was a bit poorlier with it. I gave them Periton syrup for the itching along with the calamine and Calpol/Nurofen (no natural/holistic methods in this household!) - oh god, your going to get through loads!

Was at work last night, bit :( as people were upset about Pete the Biker, he was 72 - fancy getting that old and dying in an accident, he's left quite a hole at the pub, he was polite, quiet and very clever, used to wear jeans and big boots and rock t-shirts :) At least he went doing something he loved.

Well on to happier subjects, Emrys is eventually getting us a new car today, yippee!! And I'm going down to the tanning salon (I know it's bad for me Blush) for a few seshs before my weekend away!

GG - Wow is Sean crawling then? Think that will be a first for our Nov babies!

Right, better get off and get some stuff done, Joe is currently laughing his head off watching The Upside Down Show on Nick Jr!!

babyonboard · 13/05/2006 11:01

morning!

oh no diege! poor little thing!

so is meadowhall off, or are the rest of you still meeting?

I got extremely broody yesterday..helping my friend choose a pram and getting excited over tiny socks and vests...eeek

I can't wait til her baby is born, it's so exciting.

dp's just off to work so I'd best go play with O..I'll catch up when he naps later!

twinkle1 · 13/05/2006 11:20

Hi all,
Diege bad luck:( thought you had escaped!!!
Give her piriton it is really good, and i would not use calamine lotion as it drys spots to quickly and makes them xtra itchy!!! i only used piriton & calpol with holly and she was better than sam who got calamine!!! You might be able to make the meet???? see how many spots they get:)
well i should go and put some clothes on :)
twinkle & josh

babyonboard · 13/05/2006 12:47

Hollyoaks was so so sad last night as you said Nova Sad

dp came home to find me a sobbing wreck cuddling O.

It reminded me of a project my friend did when we were at at uni, she was working on placement for SANDS and they did an exhibition of photographs that ladies had take of their nurseries before packing them away as part of the therapy process. It was the most heart wrenching thing I'd ever seen.

babyonboard · 13/05/2006 12:48

Oh dear..as I hit post i realised that wasn't a very nice thing to write about Sad ..sorry!

Rodeo · 13/05/2006 14:20

Ah, don't worry Bob, does sound heartbreaking, but speaking of someone who's been through it, it gets so much easier when you know your not the only one :) Alot better mentioning it than not IYKWIM

Bob, you know about digital cameras, have you any recommendations at all? Want to get one before the summer, although I'm a bit clueless!

OP posts:
Diege · 13/05/2006 15:57

Afternoon everyone Smile. Thanks for your good wishes about Scarlett and her pox; she is scratching them to death, and had a bloodied top this morning Sad. Have got piriton medicine and calmine cream which has aqeous cream in it (to stop them drying out so the chemist said).
Def. don't think you should postpone MH, though think there's litle chance of me making it. Jasmine had a temperature last night, though no spots as yet, but this is what Scarlett had on Thursday. If it was relatives looking after them in day, would be OK, but will need to keep them off nursery/school until spots crust over Sad. Am also away for the week from 3rd June, re postponing it till them. I will def' be there for the one after, promise Smile. Kids eh!!
BOB: felt broody reading your post about feeling broody!!! Ahhh, little socks Grin. RODEO, enjoy your tanning session! Is your weekend away next one coming? Will you be out for a spin in the new car tommorrow?
Well, have given up with the self-tan, and have just bought a wash-off one from marks Grin. Went to have highlights today, but they didn't 'take' (ok, but mega subtle/unnoticable). She didn't charge me anyway, and I get to go again in 2 weeks time, on my birthday Smile.
Well, it's like a victorian sanatarium here, so best do my nurse thing!
Speak later if the patients allow me!
Diege Smile

browniechick · 13/05/2006 22:10

Hi All, thanks for all your kind wishes about Thomas - he is definitely on the mend now. Diege, hugs and strength to you coping with chicken pox Sad that is something I've never had, so am thinking I better get down to the Drs and get the immunisation jab for it quick, before T starts bringing it home from nursery or school!!
Well, spent 5 hours today in a field with 60 girls aged 9+10!!!! Yes, it was a Brownie thing - and I am shattered now!!! Had to come home early in the end though, cos had spent nearly an hour getting drenched whilst trying to shield the BBQ from the torrential rain (thunder, lightening, the works!!Shock) and then was in wet clothes, which when you've already got a cold / bad chest isn't such a good idea, so I got an early mark and left around 6pm, before it finished at 7!
Tried to catch up with the psots over the last few days, but no luck am afraid - only retained about Diege and the pox, how bad am I Blush
Am fuming at the moment - My mum is having major hassle at work (she works for the same company as me), her boss is being a TT, and she is basically making herself ill - she has not really had any time off sick in the last 10 years I'd say, (despite having a debilitating illness) but this tosser has got her so she won't go in, she is going down to the Drs and getting herself signed off. I am so Angry cos she's worked for the company for 33 years - and this bloke who is like a slimey weasel has reduced her to this - I don't normally speak ill of people - but this guy I could make an exception for - he is making me so effing angry it is untrue. Sorry to unload all of this on you guys, but I don't know where else to spout off - if I say anything at work, I wouldn't trust myself not to tell him what I think - and since he is a senior Manager, that wouldn't do me any favours so excuse me whilst I just SCREAM AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH
Thanks,
Sorry - hope you guys are all doing well (Rodeo, so Sad about your gran - hugs and thoughts with you)
Hope all others ok
Catch up later, well tomorrow,

B&T

beartime · 13/05/2006 22:19

Hi everyone! Caleb's got a cold - v. bad cough, v. runny nose and watery eyes - d'you think I should go to the doc in case of chest infection?

Diege sorry abt your poxy outbreak can't imagine you as a nurse!

everyone else hi - sorry I only skimmed the posts Blush

browniechick · 13/05/2006 22:21

Bear - that's what Thomas had, have to say I did wait a week before It ook him, but his cough wasn't getting any better and I wanted to rule out chest infection.
They said to me, you shouldn't worry with little ones, if you are the slightest bit concerned, get them to check it out. If he isn't struggling to breathe, i.e. wheezing or gasping for breath, then I would perhaps leave it a day or so, but you know your baby best - so if you think he is bad, then go get him checked out, better safe than sorry.
xx

GarfieldsGirl · 14/05/2006 08:57

Oh no Diege Sad hope it doesn't affect them too badly, and hopefully Libby still has enoiugh of your immunity to avoid it this time.

Brownie - you may be immune to it, I didn't think I'd had c pox but Owen had them last yr, so I was tested cos of pg, and I was immune, so you might get away with it. Thunder storms Shock. Def doesn't sound like the best weekend to have done Brownies things!

Rodeo - Yes he's following us around now, and eads straight for wires and the fire guard! I thought I'd seen that a couple of others were motring around? Can't remember who tho.

Bad Mummy moment Blush. When talking to the lady from Little Steps Gym (I think thats what its called) part of the conversation went a little like this:

Me: Where is B community cenytre?
LS: Do you know W Road?
Me: No.
LS: Do you know W School, thats on W Road?
Me: No
LS: Do you know The B Pub?
Me: Yes!

Blush expecting a knock on the door from SS any moment!
