Ds was joining in with the nonsleepers. Ok till 4am ish feed and spent the next hour burbling, rolling around and doing this shouty-scream thing he does which is really cute when it's not at 5am!

He has also decided to drop his 5.30pm power nap so 5.30 till his 7.00 feed is a bit dodgy at the moment as he gets a bit grouchy/clingy and acts tired but screams blue murder if i try to get him to sleep. Goes to sleep no problem at 7.30 though :)

SusiS · 11/04/2006 21:21

yokefleet thanks for asking!! caitlin is back to normal. well, actually better than before :o
she naps alot during the day and nights are not too bad either (goes down at 6pm, briefly wakes at 2ish am for 2oz (eh?) another oz at 5isham and sleeps till 7!) - why these snacks at night??????? - anyways, but somehow she's found out what weaning means - the sparrow has landed :o - i gave her 3 meals today; still quite small each but at least she opened her mouth willingly and seems to quite enjoy it!

oh i never told you that i actually was OUT last friday - dancing :o Shock (might be a repeater!) - luckily my friend has an october baby too otherwise i wouldn't have know what to talk about Blush

Yokefleet · 12/04/2006 06:58

SUSIS good news about Caitlin Smile and what is this OUT business you talk about??? don't remember that!!!! Wink
Well Thomas is still asleep, went down with a fight at 8pm and hasn't woken yet, so better go and get the ironing done before my neice arrives!! [dreading emoticon]
Have a good day everyone x

I'm impressed YF! Smile I presume Thomas is awake now.

We've just been up to the drop in clinic as Johnny has a little patch of skin on the side of his face which has become weepy and infected. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, but if I left it until we got back from Holland next week, I think it would be pretty nasty and raw by then. I hope that the stuff the doc prescribed does the trick.

Nope SusiS, I don't remember out either!! I think that might be something from a previous existence! Blimey, I am so pathetic that I miss Johnny when he's sleeping. A night out would have me wishing I was back home Sad

JustBonnie · 12/04/2006 10:49

mawbroon, I had to take ruby to the docs yesterday for exactly the same thing. She's had a rough red patch of skin on the side of her face that had started to weep. It turns out she's got impetigo (probably spelt wrong!). The doctor said as her sister goes to pre school she probably picked up the bug there and passed it on to ruby. As ruby's got excema she is more prone to catching these sort of things. She's got antibiotics that need to be taken four times a day which is proving really hard. I usually end up covered in it and i'm not sure exactly how much she's getting as she keeps spitting it out. The sore spot doesn't seem to be bothering her at all and she's been sleeping better than ever. I Hope Johnny's spot clears up soon!

Well the sun is shining and we're all off shopping Smile

Elf1981 · 12/04/2006 12:50

Envy at all you lucky mummies at home with your babies.
I am so fed up at the moment. I hate being away from Evie.
I miss Evie when she's asleep. Especially now she's in her own room.

Out. Hmmm. I am going out on Saturday! Only from about five til nine, but long enough!

mawbroon · 12/04/2006 20:01

Oh no. Johnny found his willy in the bath tonight. DH says that now he's found it, he'll never let it go. Shock

Yokefleet · 13/04/2006 07:01

MB Thomas found his early last week and I am pleased to say that he hasn't gone near it again!!! yet Wink
Thomas eventually woke at 8.50 yesterday which was great! and he slept through again last night (two nights in a row yippeee) I needed a good nights sleep as I was also looking after my niece yesterday who I must admit was a little angel dispite my earlier concerns (am sure I would be able to cope with baby number 2 when the time comes!) might just have to wait until TJ is 12 though Grin Wink

Have a good Easter weekend everybody!

Piggiesmum · 16/04/2006 22:31

It's quiet on here. You must all be having a busy weekend.

Ds is another willy finder lol.

Poor little fella has a cold at the moment and is sleeping loads. Last night he went thru from 12.30am - 7.00 which is good for him. I'm hoping it keeps up when he's better too.

I started weaning him this weekend, so far he's only had baby rice but seems to enjoy taking it off the spoon, grabs the spoon etc, seems quite happy with it. Trying carrots tomorrow so fingers crossed he'll like them too.

Anyway hope everyone had a good easter :)

Elf1981 · 17/04/2006 08:07

Gaaaaah, 5:30 this morning Evie was bellowing away like a banshee. She's got a bad nose and is currently lying on our bed blowing snot bubbles and screaming everytime I go near her with a tissue.

nervousmum · 17/04/2006 08:57

Poor Evie and Piggiesmum's DS - Joey is still snotty, even though his actual 'cold' bit was two weeks ago!

Well, we've had a breakthrough with his sleeping over the weekend - since Friday, Joey has slept in his room with no fuss, and just waking once during the night for a quick feed, usually around 4amSmile. Also, he's taking feeds properly from a bottle (silly thing - i changed the teat to a faster flow one, and now we have no problems!), so he has one extra feed a day of Farleys formula on top of his usual breastfeeds (all preparation for when i go back to work!). He's been so cute all weekend too, and much more interactive. I love this stageSmileSmile

Hope everyone else is ok, and that you all had a good weekend, NM x

SusiS · 18/04/2006 06:27

morning girls!! yep, we are up. well, caitlin and i are - ds is still asleep 'hoorayy'
i tried to stick to my plan and not feed caitlin all night (because she never took much anyways so i didn't think she'd actually needed it!)
fed her at 9.30 (when i went to bed) and she woke at 2.30 - dummy and cuddles and she went back to sleep. - then she woke at 5.45 'dadaaaaaaa' - but i've got a rule with ds not to get up before 6am, so i stayed in bed for another 20min (for once i could wake up slowly and didn't have to jump out of bed and be 100% alert!) - while she was in her cot chatting and singing away. - now we are up and she still doesn't seem to be bothered with milk - but it's on stand by Wink

so here's to better nights :)

Yokefleet · 18/04/2006 07:13

Morning ladies , hope you all had a fab long weekend. It was great for dh to get to spend so long with ds!
Thomas slept through 3 nights last week and then has started teething again Sad so back to 1 or 2 feds a night here. Gotta go Thomas is now screaming!!

nervousmum · 18/04/2006 09:41

Morning all. I've just started a thread on the travel chat page re making up formula feeds whilst in Greece, as i'm panicking re the water! Any advice would be appreciated.

Another good night here, just up for 5 minutes at 3.40am, but Joey is being a little nightmare for DP trying to give him his breakfast - i think he's too excited to see his Daddy, seeing as DP is back on nights at work! Have a good week, NM x

Elf1981 · 18/04/2006 12:43

Gah! At five this morning I was rocking Evie in her baby bouncer singing "he's got the whole world in his hands" and adding in my own verses (ie got Evie, got mummy, got daddy, got the mad cat lady down the street) as it was the only thing that stopped her screaming.
Her gums are swollen at the top at the front and really badly swollen at the bottom to one side. Bless her. Left her with the CM today, not sure how she is (she seems find within herself when she is awake) but haven't heard anything so am assuming that she is fine.

Elf1981 · 20/04/2006 06:19

half day at work today, then off to baby clinic with Evie. Going to get her weighed and let them tell me I'm neurotic and she's fine, just teething. I'm just a bit worried as yesterday she wouldn't b/f from me in the morning, and then she only had 8oz in total at the CM, so only 8oz from eight the previous evening to half five the following afternoon.

Yokefleet · 20/04/2006 07:50

ELF hope all is well with Evie at the clinic. We had a couple of days when Thomas was 5 months old were he didn't even take half of his usual feds, he was grizly we put it down to his teething. Smile
Thomas slept til 5am which is a lot better then recently!!

Elf1981 · 20/04/2006 08:12

I am thinking that it is Evie's teeth. Today is the second day of refusing a feed at breakfast, when usually she is screaming if I dont feed her quick enough. Thing is, she was fine with the first two that came through, no problem at all, so this is totally new territory.
Good news about Thomas' sleep! Evie slept through last night again (three bad nights previously). She also had a two hour sleep at the CM yesterday morning, which my CM was shocked about as usually she cat naps and wakes up after ten mins.
Mind you, I bet the CM was glad for it as yesterday she got news that her dad had died, so at least the kids were nice and quiet for her.

SusiS · 20/04/2006 13:42

no teeth here yet!!

it seems like we are heading the right direction with caitlins sleeping!
put her down as usal at 6.30; dreamfed her at 10pm (5oz) - she woke briefly at 4.30 (!) and was happy with her dummy - and then woke again at 6; not hungry just awake - because she was giggling and chatting - just wonder who was with her?!?!?!?

nervousmum · 20/04/2006 13:48

Still no teeth here either, despite all the droolGrin

Joey actually slept through all night last night! I put him in his cot at 8pm, and he didn't stir till 7am! Of course, all my free evening time was totally wasted as DP was at work, but heySmile

Elf1981 · 20/04/2006 15:06

Evie's dropped down on her weight line.
HV said not to worry about her refusing the morning feeds, just up her brekkie instead.
I'm still worried about fluids though. Hopefully she'll have a feed tomorrow morning.

nervousmum · 21/04/2006 10:56

How much are your babies eating now? I'm now down to 4 milk feeds a day with Joey now, and he has (on average)

1 petit filous yoghurt or 1 mashed weetabix with milk for breakfast

4 'cubes' protein for lunch (ie. chicken casserole, lamb casserole, fish) + some fruit if he's being particularly hungry

4 'cubes' fruit for tea

However, i'm worried i'm underfeeding him, as my friend with a baby roughly the same age gets through loads of food!

SusiS · 21/04/2006 19:44

nm sound allright to me!
we are weaning caitlin for 2 months now and she's just started to get the hang of it and is finally opening her mouth!
she has 5 bottles a day (but only 4-6oz each - never managed a 7!)
i gave up on breakfast because she never had more than 1-2 spoons full!
for lunch she has 2 cubes savory and 1 petit filou joghurt and dinner 2 cubes fruit - that's it!
and i don't know how she does it (she must be a very good food converter) but she gets cubbier by the day Shock
weighed her a few days ago and she it 9.3 kg now!
