Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
blizy · 19/10/2012 23:39

Yeah, it was good ledkr! The bump was crap though, especially the belly buttonGrin.

Oh, I can top you all on crap food. I had stuffed crust pizza, half a tub of Ben and Jerry's, maltesers and a bottle of wineBlush .

Meant to say earlier, Emski I hope the visit from the cat protection people goes well. Are you hoping to adopt an adult or kitten? Exciting times!

ILovePonyo · 20/10/2012 09:18

Morning! A was up at 6 and is now yawning Hmm

Walking dead was good wasnt it! I noticed the bump too, she was kind of holding it on when she ran which made it look even more fake!

Blizy yum your dinner sounded tasty Grin

We might take a trip to Matlock today, hope it doesn't rain... Hope everyone has a nice Saturday Smile

ledkr · 20/10/2012 09:18

Just watched it again cos was interrupted by Ella dilly was playing but looked up a few times and said ouch! Think my inappropriate tv days are over Hmm

ledkr · 20/10/2012 09:20

D was up before 7 and is also tired and grumpy HAVE A BASTARD LIE IN then grr

ILovePonyo · 20/10/2012 09:23

I know ledkr, A moans and cries and I have told her she needs to sleep later but funnily enough it doesn't work Confused She really is much better if she sleeps til 7 tho!

I remember when A was up late one night , I put walking dead on and she just stared at the tv, really interested. Dp pointed out we prob shouldn't let her watch it Grin At least when they're little babies you can watch stuff like that an they are oblivious!

Emski76 · 20/10/2012 17:33

Hi all
Blizy, I'm so sorry about dh crappy news. Tho at least the docs know so hopefully you'll get some help (clutching at straws). We didnt pick up the cat as she has a swollen weepy eye. Her sister has cat herpes so the cat lady is taking her to the vets in the morning. I'm hoping she hasnt got herpes cos we won't be able to take her and I've kinda falln for her! Dh was his usual passive non emotional self when I told him so I cried.
Led, loving the swimming pool penguin story. I've started taking Noah to toddler swim on a Friday and he loves it. The teacher encouraged me to let go of him in the pool as he has arm bands.he loves it at first then just says 'mummy, mummy, mum, mum' until I hold him again!
Ponyo, I make Noah some cutebut sometimes he is a monster, altho compared to his brother at the moment he's an angel.
Ben is being an absolute little shit at the moment, after talking to several people about it, I've come to the conclusion that hes do well behaved at school that he lets all the bad out at home.
MizK, glad your course is going well. I barely have time to work on mine at the moment!

I'm feeling very used and abused at the moment. I do literally everything in our house, dh does nothing, and I'm starting to crack under the pressure. Just stormed out of the kitchen because Ben complained his pizza was told hot, the moaned because I took the last piece. Very immature but it was coming! I hid in the bedroom with the iPad and a glass of wine but the buggers still found me!

wigglesrock · 20/10/2012 22:57

blizy fuck a duck with the shitty news Sad, as everyone else has said you'll get there, take a bit of time but you will get there - I piggy (think its supposed to be pinky) promise as Sofia would say.

ledkr loving Homeland too, won't say any more - nods to reastie who is watching it at her leisure Grin

Emski I hide out several times a day, usually under the auspices of cleaning something or other xxx

tad hope you had a brilliant day!!!!

Anna is on antibiotics for a chest infection. She has had a niggly cough for a bit and turned chesty a few days ago. I rang to speak to GP and was summoned for an urgent appointment - whooping cough panic has set in here.

Big wave and night night. PS Is anyone else watching Cuckoo?

ledkr · 21/10/2012 02:39

Look at me just got in woo! I may be the eldest but I'm still partying when you young uns are in bed.
Actually it was a bit shit and I felt irritated with all the pissed up people and having to stand whilst everyone ate greasy food and had panic attacks cos I wasn't. Dh drank too much as usual so is snoring away next to me as I type and sip herbal tea Grin rock and roll.

tadjennyp · 22/10/2012 19:30

Dh organised a lovely birthday party! A couple of families couldn't make it because of sickness which meant the house wasn't overrun but the food was gorgeous and we all had a great time. It was a nice way to celebrate being 40. Grin

The snow held off till today! Anna has a field trip to the local library and the big park downtown to find bugs. I don't think they will find any bugs, tbh. Hope your Anna gets better really soon wiggs. It will snow off and on till May ponyo.

Hope your dh takes notice of you and starts pulling his weight a bit more Emski. For what it's worth, E is also being a pain in the bum at the moment. Takes forever to do what you ask him, never concentrates on what he's doing so spills food everywhere. He is doing my head in! I hope you get the cat you want too.

Better make lunch, have a great evening everyone!

reastie · 24/10/2012 18:49

Hi all

I can't believe I haven't posted for so long this dropped off my 'I'm on' threads Shock must try harder

Granny how are the windows? please tell all

ledkr hope you've now recovered from your night out. I find being awake after 10pm is the most rock and roll I manage nowadays Hmm . When is the great PIL vacation going on btw?

tad glad the party went well - life has just begun, hey!

wiggles hope Anna is now on the mend from the chest infection. Btw we are now watching the new series of 'Fringe' on DVD Grin , oh, and I've never heard of cuckoo

Those watching 'the waking dead' :is it on sky then? I only have freeview and can't watch it yet . NO SPOILERS PLEASE no spoilers also for homeland please - we're currently half way through the second episode.

ems FWIW I was talking to a friend today who was complaining about how little her DH does in the home too. We seem (as women) to think we can have it all, but we're not, we're just doing it all! . My DH can be good with some chores (ie he's not bad at hanging the washing up) but he'd never think of dusting or cleaning the bathroom etc. It's Angry as we used to share things really evenly housework wise, but I've just slowly been taking on more and more.

Finally Alice is starting to talk alot more, her current favourite is 'poo-ey'! Am on half term this week so having a lovely time out with Alice doing various things. It's so lovely not to be so shattered all the time with all the pressure from work I could get used to this !

Grannyapple · 25/10/2012 09:15

reastie windows are great & noticing a differen e with the heat & noise reduction already. I'm in annual from this afternoon for a whole week (woo hoo) so will post some pics of he finish this afternoon when I'm home. Yay to new words from Alice...Nate seems to be a new word every day at the minute, tho my fave is "dadda work" when he see dh leave the house or car in the morning when I drop him at train stn....too cute!

blizy you must be getting all prepped & excited for impending honeymoon...have an absolute ball if we don't see you on here before you go xx

blizy · 25/10/2012 22:05

Oh my, it's very quiet in here this week. Where have you all gone?

Wiggles. Hope Anna is better.

I am Grin at the babies new words, they are all growing so fast!

Not much to report from me, I was just working all week. Dh and I are off out tomorrow night for dinner to celebrate our 10 year anniversary of getting togetherGrin.

Granny- Vegas is not until 26th nov -< excited>

Grannyapple · 25/10/2012 22:23

Ooh apologies blizy I had it in my head that you were going on 5th nov for some reason. Oh well, at least you've got a whole month to get organised for the fab trip Grin.

Yes, v quiet here these days, eh?

Grannyapple · 25/10/2012 22:27

Ps enjoy your 10yr anniversary celebratory dinner!

We celebrated our 12yr wedding anniversary last w/e...just hit me actually that dh & I have been together 18yrs this Xmas eve...that's actually half of my life Shock

americanexpat · 27/10/2012 04:41

Sorry, haven't posted in ages! DH spilled water on my tablet so I'm offline while he has the laptop at work during the day.

L is also learning a lot of new words: cracker, TV, cheerio (the cereal) - the important things in life. Grin He's bloody teething AGAIN, tired, grumpy and moody. I'm getting a bit fed up of staying at home and have a phone interview next week. Well done to those who are doing it permanently, sometimes I want to lock myself in the bathroom by the time DH turns up in the evening.

blizy - hope you've had a lovely night!

ems - DH is slacking on the housework now that I'm at home. It's nearly impossible to do it during the day with L hanging about. TBH, I let a lot of it go in the evenings, I can't be arsed to do housework while he sits around. I'm shattered from L at the end of the day.

Emski76 · 27/10/2012 06:52

Hi all
It has been very quiet on here this week!
American, my dh is incredibly lazy, will help if asked and moaned at tho! I blame his mother! I don't do any housework in the evenings, that's my time for relaxing or studying, am struggling to keep up with the housework but being house proud stopped when I had children! Good luck with the job hunting. I couldn't be home with the kids all day everyday, it woud drive my potty!
Blizy, happy anniversary!
Reastie, i def agree re having it all. I think we were tricked. It's not having it all, it's doing it all!

Hi to all, hope your all ok.

ledkr · 27/10/2012 10:37

Hi all just back From my hols with my mate a d her dds I shall summarise.
Night one on the big caravan. Dds stil chatting at 2am I shout at them then finally sleep. 4am mate wakese to tell me she is ill Hmm I don't go back to sleep.
Day 2 I look after 4 kids whilst mate recuperates ok though as plenty of activities for them to do.
Day 3 bit of tension with mate who wants to give kids crumpets and cheese for their dinner and I don't wanting to eat shit.
That evening her dd pukes all over the dance floor when we were having a really good night.
Day 4 older dds start to bicker and mates dd is positively nasty to my els grrr. Long old day then spend evening trying to stay at disco late for the older ones which involves endlessly chasing dilly from running into arcade and bar Angry
Am glad to be home but dh is being a bit wankerish even though he has had all week free. I have a raging cold and am staying in bloody bed.
Hope you are all stil lovely x

wigglesrock · 28/10/2012 19:39

ledkr Christ sounds like a bit of a nightmare Grin, hope you're feeling better

blizy you must be getting so excited re trip. Sending love for today xxxx

Have had busy week and weekend here, Olivias birthday is this week, so we had a party yesterday and am having some school friends round tomorrow Shock Its a bit of a Brave sponsored birthday Grin, she has got some really cool dolls and books.

Think Anna may have had a bit of a bug, as opposed to an infection, she is also teething so she's not in the best of form and I don't think we'll mention her over reaction to Olivia getting new toys Blush All together now miiiiiiine Grin

The girls are off this week, so hopefully weather will improve and we'll get out and about.

Ps Re Mr W and housework - he does whatever I tell him to Wink I blame his Mum Grin

reastie · 29/10/2012 14:26

Hi all

Ledkr sounds like you need a holiday to get over the holiday Shock . Hope the cold is getting better.

Ems has the new cat arrived yet?

Wiggles happy birthday to Olivia - seems like there's always a birthday at your place Wink

Got my blood test back and my iron level is 7 Shock - no wonder I'm so blinking tired all the time and have no energy I'll just have to eat lots of dark chocolate

Had MIL visit at week end and Alice cried and cried and clung to me for ages crying, even half an hour or so later she'd suddenly go all quivery lipped and not leave my lap. WIBU to just stop MIL from looking after her a while whilst I work? She hasn't for a while anyway due to health but was due to come back next week. I just feel I can't leave Alice with her whilst she seems so upset about it. DH will probably tell me I'm making a fuss over nothing, but she's had Alice on and off since January yet she still screams when she thinks I might leave her with MIL, it's really upsetting me. You can tell me IABU if you like and I should just keep leaving her screaming if you like, I don't mind.

debka · 29/10/2012 17:13

Sorry I've been AWOL, been at Tatton Park with himself and my mini entourage.

Reastie DO NOT leave your poor wee Alice screaming with mil. Just don't do it any more. You have a million reasons not to (health etc). FWIW I leave S with my aunt and my mum on a regular basis and she NEVER cries, in fact she says bye bye to me and then runs in. Glad you're enjoying your half term :)

tad happy birthday! Snow already, ooooooo Envy

ledkr sounds awful, can't believe you stuck it out till the bitter end.

It's taken me all afternoon to write this, I'm trying to catch up with everything after our time away. Now Imy's bellowing, gotta go, back later (going to theatre tonight to see the Vagina Monologues, ought I put my dungarees on? Wink)

Emski76 · 30/10/2012 12:32

Hi all
Reastie, I would be concerned about Alice's reaction to mil, tho do you think its because she knows that mil arriving means you'll be going? Noah doesn't cry with mil or nursery at the moment but does thru phases every now and then.

Deb, the Vagina Monologues is hilarious!! Close to the mark but very funny.

Molly the cat arrived on Sunday evening, she is lovely and cute and very affectionate. I've spent much of the last two nights with her trying to snuggle into my head! She loves a cuddle but wants to be sooo close. I fell asleep at some point last night with her cuddling and padding into the back of my head!

Led, sounds like a rubbish break!

I'm off work tomorrow, yippee, hoping to take Ben to Crealy in Devon for a fun day out. Fingers crossed it doesn't rain!!

blizy · 30/10/2012 13:09

Hi ladies,

ledkr, god that holiday sounds grim! Hope you are feeling better?

wiggles, thank you, as always. Happy birthday to Olivia, is she 5 now? Hope you are all enjoying the school holiday.

reastie, I wouldn't leave A with your mil. I would be a bit worried about her reaction tbh. What does mil do when Alice is so upset? Hoe you are enjoying the holiday.

debka, How was the Vagina monologues?

emski, Molly sounds so cute, I love my Alfie cuddles at night, he snuggles up into my back. Keeps me toasty warm Grin.

Not much to report here, I had a busy weekend. Dinner on friday and our friend's leaving party on sat (it was a fab night). Another friend's 30th party this saturday too.

I was back at the DR yesterday, I have more AD's. They are really beginning to work, it is so good to feel a bit more normal again Smile.

reastie · 30/10/2012 16:28

deb I thought of you yesterday - I got DH to dig out some pre preg coats for me from the loft - there were 2 H&M ones - one is a size 16 and fits me just the other is a size 20 and is too tight Hmm - so hope that makes you feel better about your incredibly teeny coat. Hope you enjoyed the monologues.

Ems yay to Molly cat Grin

Blizy glad the ADs are helping you, that's great news for you. your week end sounds nice too.

Thanks for your comments re: Alice. Tbh I was expecting you all to tell me IWBU and should just leave her. I'll have to now pluck up to courage to talk to DH about it.

tadjennyp · 30/10/2012 16:28

Glad Olivia had a great party wiggles.

Sorry about that holiday ledkr, sounds dreadful.

Yay to Molly the cat Em!

I don't see why you should do all the housework expat, if dh won't lift a finger to help you. Hope you're not getting any residual weather from Sandy.

How were the Vagina Monologues, deb? I thought crotchless knickers might be appropriate attire! Wink Blush

I'm glad your ADs are working now reastie. Do you have any back-up plans for care if you can't leave her with MIL? We just put S into daycare one morning a week so I could volunteer in A's school, but apparently he was screaming his head off this morning when dh dropped him off. Sad

Have good Tuesdays everyone, going to grab a coffee before I go into school.

tadjennyp · 30/10/2012 16:31

Sorry, I totally misread that - I'm glad the ADs are working for you blizy, not reastie Hmm Perhaps I shouldn't go in and help with reading group. Yay to all the 30th birthday parties too!
