ChaCha would love to join the weigh in thing - as I just started Weightwatchers but am not terribly motivated and haven't even been weighing myself! Pick a day to weigh and I'll try and remember to do it then!

Nova that's awful about twins. Pregnancy is so heart-rending and worrying. I remember thinking phew I;m past 12 wks, but then all these people have still births etc. after 12 wks and makes you think I don't want to tell anyone about it till he's born and 6mths old Sad

Golden - sorry about the lurgie with the twins - maybe they'll wake up again in the night - what will you do if they do? Just struggling myself as Caleb has woken up two nights now gurgling which turns to crying and tossing up between feeding him like Londoner says (its not a growth spurt cos he hardly ate anything this morning after I fed him in the night) or shushing patting which made him cry harder last night, or being really mean and letting him cry!

Diege - I thought that was 21 lbs!!! Shock and then realised it wasn't Blush Goodness you must have starved yourself all day to get those rewards! I don't think I'm 'allowed' to lose more than 1.5lb a wk while bfing Sad not that I'm anywhere near it or anything!

Nova maybe I;ll make myself zzzzzbeartime or something so you can take your proper place Grin

beartime · 06/03/2006 22:15

oh I can't - got error message thingy too...

Rodeo · 06/03/2006 22:21

While looking for our old members list I started reading it and started feeling really sad :( Saw the new Nov 2006 thread and I felt strangely jealous.....think I may have got 'last baby syndrome' and it seems to have caught me unawares while looking at our old posts.......somebody kick me too (as well as BAM for bidding on ebay....AGAIN!)

Rodeo · 06/03/2006 23:26

And also the ladies who never posted again, like Bamik, Bains, Pinkminx, etc :( I wonder how they are?

I shouldn't be allowed on here at night, I'm turning into a nutcase!!

There - figured it out - you have to click add photo or edit from the main section - if you do it once you're in your own photo album it doesn't work. And added some piccys of us too - was scared to do this b4, but who cares if anyone knows its me anyway!

ChaCha · 07/03/2006 08:44

Good morning all,

Have just been looking at the new photos. They are all so lovely. Beartime & Browniechick - pics are great, good to be able to put name to face. Am only keeping my pics on for another few days, at least you all know who I am now.
Jenjam - Love your pics. Finn is just beautiful.

Diege - Poor you! Feeling any better? Thanks for DVD tip, will do a search on that now.

Golden, Beartime & Diege are we all up for losing weight then? What day shall we do our weigh in? And do we post on here (where the world and his wife can see how fat i've become) or on the yahoo group? What kind of diet are you thinking of? Personally want to cut down more and see how that goes. What y'all think?

Bye for now.

Diege · 07/03/2006 08:47

Mornong everyone! [smie]. Thanks for the list RODEO; shame about riding being postponed, but if weather is as bad as it's here today, it may be a blessing Smile;love the middle name Mathilda BTW, it was in the running for us as a first name. If I had a 4th daughter it would be 'Mathilda', with 'Honey', or 'Seren' (Welsh) as middle name, Poor DH never gets a look in as you can tell!!!Also like Saffron and Tabitha, though friends have steered me away from my more bizarre choices (ie. Tallulah; Pandora; Darcy;India). Hmmm, me thinks I'm getting some of RODEO's last baby syndrome symptoms too Grin.
Loving all the new pictures, can;t wait to get mine up too Smile
BEARTIME: Have been thinking about your night-time wakings...hmmm, putting my GIna cap on, I would probably let him cry it out for a bit, if there is no obvious problem (ie., not teething, poorly, at all hungry, too hot/cold), going back to cot to pat/reassure at intervals. In the real world though (I had 2 nights of it last week), I would leave for, say a couple of mins, then if still crying, pick up and cuddle, but do it all 'low key', and then straight back in cot (a softies controlled crying?). Main thing seems to be that he's not hungry from your description, but remember I am of the hard line school of crying at night, partly because I have another 2 under 5 and need some sort of structure/some 'hope' to cling to! Grin. I would go on instinct to some extent; bet you can tell cross, grumbly cry from poorly scream, and then if it's still going on in a fortnight, I would do the controlled crying (sorry!!just my opinion!!).
Must must must tell work date today for return. I am techincially on strike today (NATFE), so no checking work e-mails etc....actualy, just thought that probably means no sending e-mails either. Phewwww, off the hook for another day Grin
Right, up for nap (LIbby, not me!)
Diege Smile(v. stiff from Davina video - the shame !!)

Diege · 07/03/2006 08:51

Morning CHACHA Smile, me and Golden are doing slimming world, and I think BEAR said she was doing weight watchers? You could have a look at the relevant web-sites, or we could explian principles briefly? (or just do what you feel best for you; ie cutting back as you say?) SW is a bit of opposite; ie, stuffing yourself, but only with the 'right' foods!!
BTW, no sympathy for tummy ache; self-induced with sickening chocolaty treats!
I would say a MOnday for weigh-in, just because it's my SW day, but happy to go with anything else (maybe FRidays before week-end?!!). We could just say if we've lost, gained, maintained (and amounts), not our actual weights if this was better?
Right, nap!

Londoner · 07/03/2006 09:12

HiSmile...hope you're all doing well today. LOL Bam- just changed my name to ZZZLondoner on the photo album and saw you'd done the same, lol! Well done for getting them all on....will catch up later no time now, old school friend for lunch...must....tidy.......

goldenoldie · 07/03/2006 10:03

Bear - have had 1 night of DT1 waking and then back to normal, even with temps, runny-nose and bad coughs.

More grumbling at night tho - but I don't go in and disturb them unless they actually cry, and then I pat/sush and come out again. This does not always work!!!

Agree with Diege - sometimes you just have to let them cry it out for a bit. Like Diege - I am a 'hard-liner' too - completely ruthless, but thats what twins do for you!

I was the opposite with DS1 and too frightened to let him cry. We did not get an unbroken nights sleep till he was 18 months old, and only after a crash course in CC!!!

We have now dropped the dream-feed and the DTs are going from 6pm - 6/7am. Can't complain about the early start, they are such good boys.

ChaCha - I'm up for losing some weight. I don't know why I am stuck and not losing any more. Will start to keep a food diary.

Diege - I'm back to work mid-June and looking forward to it. Love my job. When are you due back?

Thinking about getting my brain into action again. Might consider registering for a PhD later in the year. Can't do another Msc - got two of those already!

For those of you with a doctorate - tell me, is it really possible to do with a demanding job and a family, or am I being completly stupid?

goldenoldie · 07/03/2006 10:08

Just remembered my old A'level teacher always used to tell me to get my PhD before I got married and had kids, and I remember thinking, what does he know? - marriage, kids, - that's forever away...........................

He was right.

tex111 · 07/03/2006 10:26

Thoughht I would have so much time to catch up while DH was away. Have been sooo busy instead.

BAM, thanks for adding me to the Yahoo group. I've posted some pics but it's kicked Londoner on to page two. If anyone can edit my album so that it goes to the end, then please do. I keep getting an error message when I try to do it.

So nice to be able to put faces to names. SO many of you look so different to what I've imagined. For some reason I imagined GoldenOldie as very stern lady with hornrimmed glasses (probably just because of name) but you look so glam, even breastfeeding twins! Very impressed!

Definitely up for losing some weight so count me in!

OK, got to go do the washing up in the bathtub. Kitchen work started yesterday. Ugh.

Busyalexsmummy · 07/03/2006 10:33

Hello ladies, was wondering if I could ask your opinion on something , I want to try and sell something on ebay, cant tell you what it is right now as Im still in the thought processWink but would like to hear you views...

If you were buying toiletries for yourself whilst pg, which brands were you most likely to buy?

Which baby brands stand to attention to you when buying on ebay? which are you most likely to buy?

Which brands of toiletries are you likely to buy for your baby?

If you want products/toiletries that are more "upmarket" than say avent/johnsons etc, what are they, how much would you be willing to spend?

If you were buying for a baby shower, for a close friend, how much would you be willing to spend on a gift for that person, for their new baby?

Ta xx

Urghh Tex, poor you washing in bath tub; whenever I do this I get totally frustrated, with the wringing staage, and end up dripping it all over the house. Think I'd brave the lauderette if I were you!
GOLDEN: I'm back at work end of April. Looking forward to it in a way, though I don't work with the friendliest group of people, which always makes a difference I think, however satisfying the job Smile. I did my doctorate before marriage and kids, and found it pretty hard going then! Was working first year, so did it part time, then 4 years full time. Glad I did it, but my enthusiasm did wane from time to time (on European union though, so you can imagine...)
I would say go for it though, as you know what's at stake having a masters (or 2!), and you get to have 'Dr' on your cheque book GrinThe OU do brilliant Ph.D programmes if that's what you fancy;flexible and highly rated! What subject area are you in?
Well, rain here today, so may stay in...boo!!
Diege Smile

BEKsmum · 07/03/2006 10:38

Morning girls, Have just had a look at the photo's what a cute bunch we've created. Will try to add some more photo's soon.

Just a quickie from me to say lurgy alert here. Thomas has done nothing but be sick since he woke up this morning, and he feels really hot although not registering a temperature, and I feel as rough as a bears back side.
Tex, Londoner, Bob, will see how we go today, but obviously if it does continue then we'll have to blow out of Thursday as I don't want to give it to any of you lot. Gutted as Ben was looking forward to sharing his B'Day celebrations with Bob - he thinks it's very funny that someone has a birthday on the same day as him - he thoght he was the only one!!!

Right off to change clothes for the 4th time this morning as Thomas has just thrown up all over me again whilst typing this - yuk!!!

Hope everyone is well Beks

Diege · 07/03/2006 10:42

Hi BAM! I used The Sanctury stuff while pregnant (lovely Smile; I like Johnsons/avent for everyday, but also bought a lot of LIttle Me stuff which I love too. Re: e-bay, it would be stuff that's out of day-to-day proce range; ie. little me; anything 'organic'; would spend no more than fiver for each product, and would probably look for a 'pack' of products on e-bay. Baby shower? would spend up to £20 for special friend.
Hmm, sounds like you are doing some market research..well you have a ready-made client lists here Smile.

Diege · 07/03/2006 10:43

Poor Beks and Thomas Sad; take it easy you two and get lots of rest Smile

goldenoldie · 07/03/2006 11:10

Busy - good luck on the e-bay selling.

Re: tolietries - I'm afraid I just buy the stuff available in the supermarkets, big brands/own brands and hope I get some nice stuff (Jo Malone/Space NK) as pressies from DH (dream on...........).

Currently using some Sanctuary toiletries - got them on special offer - cheapskate!

Re: babyshower pressie = between £20 - £30.

Thanks Tex - I certainly don't feel glam. Are you having a new kitchen put in?

Diege - thanks for the OU tip. Will check out my old uni (LSE) too. I'm in the social policy camp, although my publications to date have been more sociological.
