Hi girls

Welcome aboard Garfieldgirls, be prepared we can chat the hind legs off a donkey!!!

Bob lovely birth story, made me go teary eyed too.

All this talk about birth stories made me save all the threads into a word document - do you lot realise that the 10 or so threads we wrote until we finally all popped takes up 1,611 A4 pages - thought I'd keep it for when I get old and forgetful but had better start re reading it now or I'll never finish it!!! Grin

Karma of course you can bring your ds with you, Ben will love having another bigger boy to hero worship, he adores his cousin & his best friends brother who are both 10. Hope he doesn't mind roughing it a bit though on an airbed or a mattress on the floor Blush I'll e-mail you some directions too at some time this week.

LilJ bring your sil along, I'll be bringing Ben who is 4 and I would think / hope that Tex is bringing her ds too - they can entertain each other then.

Diege sorry to hear Libby is suffering, have you got some infant nurofen for the temperature instead - personally think it works better than calpol. Hope you get a quiet night.

Chacha - you wicked mummy's friend, fancy telling the kid you'd eat it's chocolate Grin
How are the deliberations on the job front going? Everyone has given you very sound advice so far - from my perspective I've stayed home because HR just didn't seem that important to me after Ben was born - Couldn't be arsed with people thinking the world was going to end if I missed 50p out of their pay packets for a week or if the filing wasn't done on time. Will have to go back to work at some time I know, but just not now.

Agree with everyone else though about basing the decision on whether you think it will ever come up again. Don't ever give your self cause to look back with regret. Which means not missing the London meet up too Grin.

Got to go Thomas has got a right whinge on today and I'm in a black cloud mood at present, which is why I've been a bit quiet this week, have been reading though just to keep up!!!

Hope everyone else is well Beks

Hi all,

BEks, sorry to hear you're feeling Sad, will cat you my number and you can call me any time and come to mine for tea and ear bendSmile. There is a little playground round the corner for Ben to let loose in. Is it anything in particular or just general 'stuff'?
LilJ, decisions like this are so hard aren't they, hope you manage to hang in there with Nate until end of Summer as you hopeSmile.

SmileWelcome GG!Smile

ChaCha, lol at your post!
Diege, glad Libby seems to be easing up, wishing you a peaceful evening.......[fingers crossed]

Bob - your birth story makes me mad at NHS - putting monitors on you while you're having contractions Angry then telling you to go home Angry and then no-one being there at the vital time Angry - bet that makes you want a home birth next time doesn't it?! Is that why you asked about homebirths? I'll have to remember the film thing and stop up on some if there's a next time (am beginning to wonder with no sign of AF yet Sad)

Welcome Garfieldsgirl!

Hi Beks hope you feel better soon Smile I'm going to meet up with Londoner now so I can save a few pennies (I hate taxis Grin) but thanks for the offer - will still meet you that day anyway in the end!

Does anyone know exactly what time we are meeting so I can book my train ticket?

Hi all,

Welcome Garfieldsgirl. I only joined this lot last September & I they all made me feel very welcome too.

Beksmum my DS will be pleased. We haven't been to London since 2004 so we're both looking forward to it. Sorry to hear you're having a bad time. I've been extremely irritable today which I now know is PMT!Angry Well, better that than pregnant!!! I've got the postnatal girls round tomorrow so I might ring you on Thursday for a natter, is that ok?

BoB, your birth story brought a tear to my eyes too. It all seems like such a long time ago doesn't it? I have to say, how did the MW know you weren't in labour if she didn't do a VE? Even if the contractions looked weak on the monitor, they can be a bit unreliable. Still, glad you dilivered swiftly. I might have a look at my birth story when I've finished typing this. Also, I've got a tattoo. I got it back in 1998 when my marriage ended. I'd toyed with the idea & when I didn't have an OH to consider I just thought, "What the hell?" I copied it from one I saw on a patient & it's a flower on my foot. The only time it bothers me is when I go for a job interview & I have to wear court shoes as it's visible then. I usually wear a plaster over it then. What will your tatt be? And where?

Diege hope Libby is feeling beter soon. Interesting about the meningococcal meningitis jab being available soon, must ask my HV about it.
Londoner my AF is totally different from last time. Then I didn't have a single one until 28 days after my last ever feed, even though I'd only been giving him 5 mins in the morning & 10 at bedtime. I think the diference is I'm a lot healthier this time. I read on here that your weight can influence it. I was too skinny last time, although being a size 8 was rather nice but the IBS was something I could live without. I'm glad that I read on here that AF can return even whilst fully BFing. I'd assumed it would be that same as before. Good job I didn't use it as contraception, eh?

Has anyone elses LO been unsettled since the clocks went back? We shall have to get some blackout blinds as she seems to think its not bedtime. I always give her her bedtime booby in a darkened room so she seems a bit confused.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'm glad there's no eating of people going on here!

You certainly all do seem to be able to chat a lot, I hope i'll be able to keep up! Have you all been together since before the LO's arrived?

Shall I just give you a quick rundown of me - ds2 - Sean Thomas was born at 3.30 am (the inconsiderate little pig!) on 8th Nov weighing in at 8lb, he's little brother to Owen who's 4 1/2. I'm currently being driven slowly, no sorry, very quickly, mad by my 3 boys because I've got my boyfriend at home too recovering from an accident, so no peace for me and I've found that MN seems to be a few minutes in the day where I can switch off from them while they're all asleep and I'm feeling incredibly jealous cos I can't remember what sleep is. Does anybody here actually know?

Diege - when I scrolled down the words North and Wales jumped out at me because My boyfriends from Buckley and his family are still up there, but he managed to escape a while back! So i know that part of the world quite well.

hi everyone, have been incommunicado for a few days - my mobile was stolen in starbucks (with all my numbers!!!!) last monday; and my bills are paid by work at the moment (i dread to think what i owe them....); then broadband failed on us - we're only just back on line since yesterday!!!

has been a right pain sending emails to the vodafone in a cybercafe (does anyone say cybercafe anymore - is it like saying perambulator??)

GOLDEN - got your meessage this morning when i put my new sim into my new phone! but i don't have your telephone number anymore as it was stored on the stolen phone - could you mail it to me or call me again please...then i could call you back.

right that's me done for now. watching the end of arsenal playing at the old grounds (wipe a tear, even though i#m not really a fan i don't like too much change..)

hope you are all feelin' good - and your bundles of fun are chuckling away, as mine. we've got a cute holding toe thing going on too....and yesterday saw a very awkward back to front rollover during a nappy change. i cheered then i felt a little bit sad - he'll always be my baby. i think i'm turning into my MIL...

will catch up with all the posts over next few days - as right now i've got a thing in the oven. no, not that kind of thing or that kind of oven!!

big x

BEAR, yes I suppose we should 'firm up' arrangements pretty soon on yahoo, as it'll come round sooner than we think...oooh, exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm flexible as I'll be staying over night before so may be lurking round venue dead early, as don't fancy staying in hotel room with cleaners knocking etc.. Bet I'm the first to arrive!
On blinds, we have actually got round to buying them for our room (where Libby is) so now just have to find time in the day to put them up!Grin
