Hello peeps, (This may be a super post - warning!)

Sat down to do some catching up last week but failed miserably, just too many posts to read during nap time. Pleased to see new thread which took only 5 minutes to skim through..hurray!

The LO is now 13weeks old. He is doing v.well and putting on lots of weight, am still managing to b/f even though my supply must have drastically decreased with the top ups becoming more often and more in size. Still, on the upside, have a healthy and happy little boy and will eventually stop consulting the 'Breast is Best' Bible & listening to the never ending advice that everyone seems to have some sort of license to give. Humph!

As far as routines go Z is in his cot at around 10ish, he sometimes goes straight through until 5am for his feed but often wakes around 3. Not really sure why this differs from day to day but it's still giving me plenty of sleep so it's working well. Z is great to take out at the moment and day trips are going well, however, he seems really fed up when in the car seat now (lying down) and it's all I can do to console him. We were fine all the way on the motorway when car was moving fastish but as soon as we approached the lovely lane of traffic in Cricklewood..Boom! The crying started big time! Fortunately he was his lovely self as soon as we took him out.

Well, enough of me now. BAM - Still intend to buy the magazine that you're featured in. Has anyone pointed you out when you're out and about yet? Do your family like the article? What does everyone think? Look fwd to reading it soon.

Nova - Poor you with no gas! It's so cold today. Wonder if we'll ever see better weather. Keep putting off going for walks and waiting to go out in the car until it warms up. Hope you have your gas back pronto.

Golden - Shame that you had to face that. I had similar happen in Boots one day and that was with the LO happily playing in his pram. The woman really didn't like the idea of me trying to get past her when she was looking at whatever it was on the shelves. Had to say 'excuse me' several times and then got the alien look.
Silly question, but do you enjoy hanging the washing out? I've been enjoying doing the washing now since the LO's arrival. Something therapeutic maybe? My mum, MIL and some friends are the same, don't know why. Do have friends though that would spit their tea out if I suggested my new found love for hanging out the washing!

So many of you I wanted to mention but can't keep up with all the latest..Hi to you all. Oh.. Sharon - Is really nice to see you back. A few of us are missing from this thread, it's a shame.

Tessasmum - You have a Jane Carrera no? Do you find the shopping basket unbelievably small or is that just me?

Anybody using the Little Me or EcoBabes products pls?

We have our second set of jabs on Tuesday so hoping that he's just as unphased as last time. How was it for everyone else?

Hope It wasn't too long a post, will post again in the week. Can't you guys limit yourselves to 5 posts each a day Wink Do miss catching up!

Best relieve DH and get on with Sundayness x

novadandypowder · 05/03/2006 19:33

STILL no gas [gas] Natalie is all confused because she didn't get her nightly splash around in the bath before bed.

Diege - just for you is the picture of me as Snow White in the Yahoo group. To those looking at the Yahoo group - make sure you go on to the next page as Mine and Rodeos albums have flipped over onto the second page Grin

novadandypowder · 05/03/2006 19:33

must have gas on the brain - was supposed to be Sad - lol!!!

Diege · 05/03/2006 21:25

Bloomin eck NOVA, it's not like she of the Disney video Grin!! Will have to explain that the real snow white (ie, you) has bought a new dress!.DH very admiring of picture too, hmmm Envy.
CHACHA: I am so with you on the Jane basket; do you think they actually tested it beforehand? Once you've got a pack of nappies in there (small size), that's about it. v. annoyed as I lost a magazine (yes, a MAGAZINE!!!!) out of the basket, must have 'slid' out. You should see TWINKLE's basket (designed by a woman too apparently (the whole pram, not just the basket)...serious case of basket envy there!! Grin.
Do NOT share your love of hanging out washing! If you are ever in the area, feel free to put mine out for me; it's festering in basket at the moment! Grin.
BROWNIE: yes, think the ultrabland would be a bit sticky as a moisturiser. Did she mean you to wash it off afterwards? If all else fails, it will be a good cleanser for you Smile.
Cat is driving me mad (crying for chicken); it's like having 4 kids!
Diege Smile

Diege - bfing bit harder to increase day time amounts unless you do more feeds though?? Last wk |wrnt back to 3hrly but I just got him into a good nap routine so don't really want to do that this time, maybe will add dreamfeed back for a few days.

ChaCha - Caleb's got his 2nd jab tomorrow. Last time he was fine for a couple of hours then fell asleep and was unwakeable for a few hours. Then when he woke he was screaming his head off for about an hour, and then didn't sleep well that night cos he'd slept too long in the day! Other than that he was fine! I like hanging my nappies out when i'm out there but don't like going out!

edodgy · 05/03/2006 22:41

Hi everyone thanks for the nice welcome on the previous thread. Gosh I can't keep up with you all so i will say a general hello!
Jack has his first set of injections tommorrow at 14 weeks they're a bit late but the first date he was meant to go I had my counselling session so couldn't make it and then the second time he wasn't well. I'm looking forward to him getting weighed he was last weighed at 3 1/2 weeks and he was 11 Ib 14 so should be interesting as he is alot bigger now. He's in his cot for the first time tonight have had to move him out of his moses basket as I caught him gripping the sides and pulling himself up plus he was getting far too long and wide for it! He's now sleeping from 9-10 pm till 7-8 am in the morning. Eve is having major tantrums at the moment I don't know about the terrible two's but i think the terrible nearly threes is alot worse Sad

Rodeo · 05/03/2006 23:01

Evening girls :)

Just lost a really long post so will attempt to try and type it again Angry.......

Wow!! Just been trying to catch up on the posts! It's great to see the thread dead busy again!

Chacha, I like hanging out washing too, although hate tumble drying, just not the same! I've been using the Little me products (esp. the pink one) on J on your recommendation from when we were still on our antenatal thread! Such a long long time ago, although don't let me dwell on it, I am the most sentimental notalgic person and I'll get sad!!

Nova, I've just been boring dp with everyone's baby pics on the yahoo site - that was until he saw your Snow White pic! Lovely new pics BTW, esp like the Good-Bad history lesson Grin

Bob, your website is AMAZING!! And Oskar is gorgeous. Finally found out that song I keep singing on radio 1 is The Feeling's Sewn. At last!

Beartime/Bam - You were up very late last night, have seen you new pics too :) Wow at Caleb's hair!! He looks a very chirpy chappy!

Bob2 - Seen Georgina's pictures too - she is sooooooo beautiful!! I love the 'too much pink' piccy, she's a model baby :)

Sharon, great to see you on here :) Sorry to hear about all the trouble you've had with your stitches. Hope the 'refashioning' (nicely put!) has done the trick. Can you remember I had that awful ulcer thing down there (Sorry if thats TMI) but I remember how low it makes you feel, so hope your a lot better soon :)

GO, yes you should have run her over, accidently on purpose Grin

Diege, You LOST a magazine?? How soul destroying Which one was it?? Can it be replaced?! Grin Did big cat get any chicken in the end?

Think that's most of the post I did before my comp kindly wiped it....... Not much news here,we've had lovely lovely weather, we've got an invasion of ants, visited Ashby Castle yesterday, arranged to go riding on Tues (at last!), dp has been away all day on a First Aid course so me and the children have pottered around the house and garden, watched my new fave film Racing Stripes with them, just watched 24, and school again tomorrow. And that's about it......

Off to bed now, night :) x x x

Rodeo · 05/03/2006 23:08

Sorry Blush forgot to welcome Edodgy and baby Jack too :)

Good luck with the jabs. I'm a terrible mother I keep forgetting to get Jess's 2nd lot of jabs sorted and she's nearly 5 months Shock Must do it tomorrow, must do it tomorrow......

Agree about the really awful 'terrible 3's too. Much much much worse than the relatively mild 'terrible 2's Grin

Rodeo · 05/03/2006 23:14

Beartime, I think with bfing babies build up your amounts by feeding more frequently (maybe every 2-3 hours or so) in the day when they are having a growth spurt, which trains your breasts to produce more milk. So when they go back to feeding every 3-4 hours again (maybe the next day or day after) the boob has more milk in it. Does that make sense? I think that was what Diege meant (or I may just be confusing matters!) :)

babyonboard · 06/03/2006 08:26

Hi all...

glad you liked the website..it's tking me ages to make during naps , heehee..

i've just added to the yahoo group...thanks for the invite!
nova what an amazing outfit..you look incredible!..love your wedding dress too.
golden - i agree you don't look old at all!
and everyones babies are gorgeous and adorable of course....

I'm also a big fan of the little me stuff..though i end up using it myself aswell..
and do love hanging up washing too, so long as it's oskars things..hehehe...and folding and putting it away. but still can't wait for th tumble dryer..life will be so much easier..and tidier!lol.

Just remembered to ask..did you get a bunch of giraffe cuddly toys s gifts for your babies?
we got 8 and my friend at postnatal clss got 5! is it a new trend for babies or something?

best go do the bottles..will catch up with the rest of the posts later...

Diege · 06/03/2006 08:55

Morning!!Smile. EDODGY: yes, agree with RODEO that 3's are worse than 2s, though 3.5 onwards seems to peter out a bit? Some hope then Grin. We still have approx one a day from dd2 (was 3 in NOv)Sad.
RODEO: it was a Grazia mag Sad, and was easily replaced the next day Smile. No, big cat got NO chicken as he's on a strict diet Grin; his constant crying does get to me though, and I'll admit to a sly kick on the bott' when I'm walking behind him sometimes Blush. It's for his own good, as he had a really dodgy pinned leg
(feel really bad now...'big cat, some scraps of chicken!!)
BEAR: yep, I think increasing frequency of feeds initially will set you up for growth spurts, though I always used to rely on bigger 'drean feed'. Only BF dd1 (for 6 months) and bottle fed other 2 from start, so relying on memery here Smile.
BOB: yes!!!got a cuddly giraffe ! (M&S?)
Right, time for breakfast. SW tonightBlush,
Diege Smile

Londoner · 06/03/2006 10:40

Morning allSmile,

Thought no one had posted since Saturday for a minute there... until I saw this new thread, phew, thought it was a bit unusual!Wink
Beartime, with the growth spurt night waking I just feed on demand, if baby's hungry. It will pass, or if not you'll know it's probably weaning time. I gave Elizabeth 7-10 days of night feeds before she suddenly reverted back to her usual routine. Only thing was I had engorgement and then blocked ducts and an afternoon in bed with shivers, aches and pains as a consequence. All is well now thoughSmile. Hopefully you'll manage better than I did!
Right, hope you all had a good weekend, good to hear from you twinkle, sharon and ChaCha! Off to look at the new photos now.....

Londoner · 06/03/2006 10:44

\Have you seen this site Beartime? I've found it really helpful....}

Rodeo · 06/03/2006 10:51

Seen all new photo's and added a couple more myself :)

Bam, you are right - he is mini me!! It's uncanny Grin Great tractor BTW!

Bob - Is your friend Mike Skinner?

Lovely lovely pics anyway :) I tried to take some of Jess smiling but she's having none of it! Her eyes look brown in the pics, I think they are on the change as they aren't blue anymore. They're kind of a sludgy grey!

Gorgeous new pics everyone!
Rodeo, love the new ones of Jess, and yes her eyes do look brown don't they, gorgeous. Where are the pics of you?
Beartime, Caleb..... what a cutie!

bob2110 · 06/03/2006 10:58

Morning,

another night without any sleep! Am on third coffee of the morning which won't help my mood but at least I am awake Smile.

Brownie - thanks for the link - was so hard not to read ahead!

Rodeo - aww thanks! DP fancies himself as a bit of a snapper & for every 1 photo which makes it into the album at least 50 are rejected (mostly mine) Grin.

BOB - lovely "bump" photo. I have one too but DP cut my head off - not sure how to take this Smile. Nova - what a fantastic photo, you look lovely but not quite how I remember Snow White either! Do you have gas back yet?

We have had the mean looks too over crying in shops - one particular nasty in M&S foodhall, she just seemed to be everywhere we went. Ultimate revenge - DD did a huge smelly poo & stank the place out Grin.

We use Nelson's too - has an almost instant calming effect.

Twinkle - I love hanging out the washing. Can be quite obsessed about hanging things neatly in order Blush. Can't wait for better weather as nothing smells nicer than outdoor dried washing - especially bed linen mmmm. On that note, am off to empty the washing machine.

Rodeo · 06/03/2006 11:07

Just put one on for you Londoner :)

Londoner · 06/03/2006 11:10

Oh and who's cute baby is Georgina? So sweet!
Candi - would be very happy to meet up, why not come to the Greenwich Picturehouse on Friday? That way we don't only have to talk about schoolsGrin.

Londoner · 06/03/2006 11:13

Thanks Rodeo, you look so lovelySmile.
Busy - just saw your new pics too, brilliant!

beartime · 06/03/2006 12:32

Londoner - so if you feed in the night, you don't have a problem of her then making a habit out of it? And how d'you figure out if she needs food or if its something else? I have seen that website but had a better look just now, thank you. You've got more guts than me BTW - taking your family to that festival - what's it called - sorry forgot the name!

And BoB can't believe how good you look pregnant - I looked terrible!!!!

Londoner · 06/03/2006 13:24

Beartime - I don't worry about habits forming no, certainly not at this age and if baby was previously fine with independent sleeping for long periods at night. If baby has gone to sleep as per usual and then wakes and is crying I figure there must be a reason and a few whispered calming words and then bf is always my first port of call. I don't even think about it and we're all usually back in bed asleep within 10-20 mins. They might have gotten too hot/cold and need cooling down which will be solved by a quick bf, or too cold which will also be sorted by nice warm bf ( brrr, tiny cold hands under your vest!lol). If they're teething, then bf will be v. comforting and there may be no need to resort to any medication for pain. I never worry about it, whatever gets you through the night I say! Follow your instincts Beartime, do whatever you think is right for Caleb at the time. Try not to worry about what might happen in the long run, you can deal with any problems when/if they arise.
Festivals are hard work but fun, we're attempting Cornbury again this year with the baby as well!

Diege · 06/03/2006 14:05

Afternoon everyone! Smile. Have just done 'Davinia' workout (well, one of the 3 sections!) so feeling proud of myself. Never as good as fresh air and a brisk walk though, so off out for a long walk this afternoon I think.
Task for this week is to tell work when I'm returning, and put in application for flexibe working (well, I can dream!). Nursery manager rang this morning about date for Libby to start; think it will be end of April, so still a while yet Smile.
Ordered one of those (bumby?) seat things this morning,in a very fetching lilac colour, and a fischer price aquariam seat..mmm, shopping...
Speak later,
Diege Smile.

babyonboard · 06/03/2006 14:46

hi all..

wooh well done on the excercise diege..hope the cat didn't get in your way..lol
aw i miss crying cats!mine live with my mum now...one thing tht does annoy me is my mum's dog is a terrible snorer..it's so loud.
when i'm there i sit with my foot against him and nudge him every so often to make him stop..hehehe

beartime- i certainly didn't look great poregnant..lol
i made an effort for that picture after realising on my due date that the only pictures I had of my bump included grumpy face/greasy hair/slobby clothes/all of the above.
i do have some of me dressed as a fairy (don't ask!lol)but but they weren't particularly suitble for showing to dp's family etc..hehehee

did anyone have a proffessionl shoot by the way? demi style? really wish i had now!

londoner your kids are all gorgeous love the glasto pics! i can't wait to take oskar...though we will be armed with a sledge as i've noticed it's an effective method of transport for tots when it gets really muddy! heehe
do all your kids play instruments? (noticed the guitars!)
we want oskar to learn piano as M.I.L is an amazing player, we're really hoping he will be interested.

just had lovely few hours reading with oskar asleep on my chest. i had planned to do some d.i.y (sanding back skirting boards...yawn) but started new book and can't put it down , it's 'saturday' by ian mcewan...so gripping!
