Londoner · 16/03/2006 10:10

HelloSmile,

Nova, wow, snazzy chair! Have not seen that one before, so clever... would love to see pic of Natalie sitting in it soon..... covered in yoghurt/porridge/banana etc!
Beartime, interesting point about weaning, thanks..
Diege.....what are hoobs? How are those lessons going btw .... you'll be tearing down the motorway to all the London meets before you know it, a la Enthusia!
Brownie, how's the 'bumbo' seat?
Hi mamman, good to hear from youSmile.
Hi ChaCha, I'm good, thanks for asking..... went through a tough patch recently, but better now....hormones eh? Where in N.London? Is it Mill Hill area? Have heard schools there are v.good. So excited to hear you're TTC, wow!
Rodeo, thanks, I am happy, life wasn't always so good, but now it's great! How're you?
Tex, good to hear you're happy. It's interesting to hear you say that Rosie has been an easy baby...... your own perception is the key to everything isn't it? I say this as from the outside it seems you've had a pretty tough time so far with having your home taken over by builders, Rosie's reflux and a major long sick bug for both children........ but you're really happy.... that's wonderful. Thinking about #3 again, if money is an issue then perhpas sooner would be better as a SAHM because once the youngest is at primary school you can work during school hours/term time? Whereas if it's private education you're after it might be better to wait so as to stagger the cost? Hooray that your new kitchen is nearly ready, goody, looking forward to christening it as mentioned!
Busy, glad to hear things are looking up for you today, phew!
Right, off to tackle washing pile [puts armour on]..........

ChaCha · 16/03/2006 10:25

Morning all,

Londoner, glad you're doing well :) Not TTC btw, but not preventing it either. Haven't even had AF return yet so will see. I am beginning to feel it would be quite selfish to think of no.2 right now when DS is still so small - haven't even really begun to enjoy him yet IYSWIM. Anyway..time will tell.

Beartime - The advantage of 'norks you can whip out'? Does that mean the advantage of being able to b/f your child when 5 mins is only required?

Right, have a good weekend everyone, I'm back next week x

Londoner · 16/03/2006 11:23

Oops, sorry ChaChaBlush. Good to hear you're enjoying the little fella.
I meant to say that to you Beartime didn't I? Congrats on TTC..... twins don't always have to run in the familySmile......

Diege · 16/03/2006 11:45

Hi everyone! Smile. Just back from driving lesson, which did go well so am very pleased Grin. Yes, hopefully I'll be speeding along to LOndon once I've passed (might be a while!!).
The Hoobes, for all of you lucky ones who haven't had the pleasure, is a kids TV thing that used to be on 5.30/6.00am in morning on Channel 4 (5?)for all of us blessed with early wakings! Sympathise BUSY with you knowing them too! The theme tune is enough to start me twitching Grin. Glad youn had a better day yesterday Smile.LONDONER: sorry to hear you've been through a bit of a bad patch...you are always so jolly and 'together', that I just assume you're fine Blush. Glad things are sorting themselves out though Smile.
BEAR: good luck today with the jabs. Different HVs say different things about calpol times; mine say don't bother unless they seem grouchy afterwards, but I may slip a dose in before this time as she had a pretty bad time of it after second lot.Must make appointment for MOnday Sad.
Hi Rodeo! LOL about your DH; not sure if I can trust mine not to write something insulting about me Grin...I'm such a control freak!
Hi CHACHA!Good to hear from you SmileIt's great when you get your evenings back isn't it?. Hopefully you'll get a full night's sleep soon as well Smile...something to look forward to!
BTW, meant to say a big hello to ENTHUSIA; glad all is going well. Any trips planned up North again?
Right, madam needs her sleep! (Libby too!Wink
Diege Smile

tex111 · 16/03/2006 12:13

Christ, I've hit the wall today. Was up all night with Rosie. Looks like she's got another virus, fever and vomiting. Our neighbor's burglar alarm kept going off too which was driving me mad. Annoying noise and DH is away again so I kept imagining burglars creeping around the neighborhood! Builders are doing the flooring today so lots of electric saws and Tobes is full of beans. I'd get out of here if I had the energy. At the moment wearing DH's top and in desperate need of a hairbrush and I know I smell of baby vomit. Hmmmm, maybe two children is quite enough. Smile

tex111 · 16/03/2006 12:19

Londoner, sorry to hear you've come through a tough spell but hopefully you're out the other side now. They do seem to come and go with me. Once this place is calmer (and cleaner) you're always welcome to come by for a coffee and a chat. Must admit, I've just arranged for someone to come pick up our laundry. With the kitchen work and the vomiting it's become a huge mountain. Going to splurge on a service this week. Hopefully won't become a habit but wish it could!

browniechick · 16/03/2006 12:43

Hi All - hope everyone is feeling ok today.

Bear - I usually only give calpol if necessary - this time gave at Drs because T was in a bit of a state and thought it better to get a dose in early. He has only had 1 dose each time - never needed a second dose. He is also still only having 2.5ml (although he could have up to 5ml now).
Got cosytoes from a website called Snugglytots - it is ace - they are made to order, and you can choose any combination of colours (inside & outside) and also you can pick patterns. They are longer than normal cosytoes (at 1m long) so that they should do children up to 3yrs. I am v pleased with mine - well worth the money.

Hope all are well - off to weigh little man this afternoon - will let you know later how much he weighs!

Brownie & Thomas
x

Diege · 16/03/2006 12:46

Oh Tex, what a nightmare Sad; bet you feel drained. I know they say it's best to force yourself out when you feel like this, but sometimes you just want to ride it out indoors Smile. Good idea about the washing! When's DH back?

twinkle1 · 16/03/2006 16:55

Twinkle - what a terrible time you are having. Thinking of you.

Diege · 16/03/2006 17:37

TWINKLE I'm so sorry to hear your sad news Sad; you must be all over the place at the moment. I'd love to meet up again soon - the Quays would be great. I'm pretty flexible, so if you let me know which week suits you, I'll come up with a few dates.
Take care - thinking about you Smile

More cyber {{{{hugs}}}} to Twinkle - come on here and talk to us any time, we're great listeners.

Londoner - plan to take some more photos over the weekend so may be able to get some more up soon. DH has just booked us in with a professional photographer for when he gets back from the US, so we can get some proper pics done.

Looking forward to operation London! Can you give us any idea what dates you've been thinking of?

Good job I took Nat to the doctor on monday. She had a little lump on her eyelid which turned out to be a blocked duct, but while I was there I mentioned that she hadn't been able to shake off a cough she'd had for nearly 2 weeks. The doctor decided to put me at rest by doing a nasal swab, to prove that everything was ok, but it turns out she did have a bug and is now on antibiotics Shock. Glad I raised it as I thought I was just being a paranoid mummy.

DH came to watch Nat at her swimming class today Grin

Really must go and cook some dinner - when DH isn't here I can never find the enthusiasm to just cook for myself.

browniechick · 16/03/2006 21:24

Hello All. Weighed Thomas today (16wks -1day) and he was 15lb 8oz!! what a chunky monkey he is! doing very nicely - everything growing in proportion (well, length and weight - the rest of him is normal size!!!!! Wink Grin)

Twinkle - love and big hugs to you chick. So sorry to hear about your newsSadThoughts and Prayers are with you. As someone else said - you can always come on here and scream or cry etc if you feel the need to vent.

Hope all others are ok and that all mummies and babies are doing well.

can't believe I go back to week in 4 weeks Sad - official start date is next week (Thurs) but am taking a months holiday, so don't actually get back behind my desk till last week of April.

NightyNight all
Brownie & Thomas
xx

BEKsmum · 16/03/2006 21:27

Evening all, be warned super long post - not for the faint hearted

Twinkle sweetheart, I'm so sorry to hear your sad news, sending you {{{cyber hugs}}} and thinking of you and your family at this sad time.

Londoner, sorry to hear you've been having a rough time, as Diege said you do always seem so together that it didn't occur to me that you might be down Sad let me know if you want to get together for a chat - if talking will help.

Tex so sorry to hear that Rosie is ill again, that's why we've been quiet too. Perhaps we should get together to sympathise with each other - the kids can't give each other anything else can they Smile

Chacha thanks for asking about the boys I'd love to say they are great but both are ill Sad Thomas has the tummy bug and dh took Ben to the dr's today for me who said all his glands are up, he's extremely run down and catching variations of everything going - yuck and now the little darling has passed the cough and cold on to me - lovely. That being said though we had parents evening tonight and Ben is doing fantastically at pre-school and I'm really proud of him and Thomas is just adoarable and I've loving virtually every minute with him, so much so I'd even consider having another one.

Golden thank you for your frank answer about the chasing a different sex child. It made me re-evaluate my thoughts on another baby and too be honest I've only just got my head around the fact that Thomas is a boy so don't know how I'd feel if we had a third boy and getting twins like you would scare the pants off me as I have enough trouble with the two boys I've got and there's a 3.9 year age gap!!!

Beartime & Diege I've just been reading your weighing norks conversation it made me laugh out loud

Karma don't worry Roger & Anne (the swingers) are very choosy & only for Essex couples they don't go for anyone north of the Watford Gap Grin Anyway don't worry we'll protect you!!! I'll try and ring you Friday for a chat but have Ben at home so it will have to be kids permitting

Nova hope Nat is feeling better soon, the antibiotics will do the trick in no time at all.

Diege & Busy we know the Hoobs too - that's what made me buy blackout curtains and they're hoobtastic - that's the curtains not the puppets Smile

Right off to bed as I feel like pants, plus I'm going to swing for my dh if I don't go to bed now as it's our wedding anniversary and I have definitely not been spoiled. 8 years today - he'll be lucky if he makes 9 Grin

Hello to everyone else, hoep you are all well Beks

Diege · 16/03/2006 22:11

Evening!Smile. BEKS: did DH forget anniversary, or just do a shabby job of treating you ShockAgree, the Hoobes strike terror in the heart of all God-fearing people - may those who have never seen them remain oblivious Grin.
NOVA, and everyone else, the date we are thinking of heading south is Tuesday 18th April, with me travelling down evening of Monday 17th. I'm checking availability of trains tommorrow as I'll be at the station (web site is useless).
BROWNIE: I'm also adding on hoilday from next week, with date back being Friday 28th April Sad. Woman from Personnel never got back to me with 'coffee' date to discuss options, and has made vague suggestion that she will 'call me'. Hmm, not holding out much here Angry and a bit cross as it was her who made the suggestion to meet up in the first place.
Well, have managed to have a row with DH while simultaneously posting on here Shock. His finishing shot was 'all you do all day is go on that internet Shock' ['I do NOT...you don't know the half of it!!!!!!'].Bloomin cheek (ok, so maybe there's a sliver of truth there Blush, but nonetheless there is the small matter of a 4 month old baby to look after too Angry. Think I'd better get to bed too BEKS!!
Night!
Diege

sarahsausage · 16/03/2006 22:50

Good Evening Ladies,

Havent been aroud since Lottie was born, life got very hectic all of a sudden then my computer packed in. Hope i am still welcome to chat with you all Smile.

As you can imagine don't have time to read through 3 months worth (Shock) of missed posts, so hope you and your babies are all doing well.

Must g to bed before i end up slumped on the desk.

Night, Sarah.

beartime · 16/03/2006 23:01

Busy - sorry I didn't answer your question about the DH's thread - mine wouldn't be interested - he hates computers and makes fun of my having cyber friends Grin

Tex - I don't know how old Tobes is (can't remember the photos Blush) but are you sure its safe putting them in the same room? I was reading today about two loving toddlers tucking a baby in bed but with a pillow over his face Shock And don't forget your fertility lessens with age when you're considering what to do!! I've got fertility on the brain Grin Can sympathise with you over burglars - I'm like that whenever DH is away Blush

Twinkle - so sorry to hear about your dad and your nan, you must be having a hard time of it. I'll always be eternally grateful to you for helping me when I was in labour, unlike my MW who just stared at me and took notes!

Beks - glad we made you laugh Grin

Busy - cervical fluid is better than temps for trying to conceive cos you know ahead of time - and the temps would be OK if you always ovulate the same day, but you don't usually.

Londoner - LOL abt putting the armour on! And yes it was me ttc, but with the slight problem of no ovulation or af yet - could be a minor obstacle Grin I hope you're feeling better.

Oh had GREAT news today Smile Smile Smile - one of DH's health probs is Hepatitis C cos he used to be a drug addict back in his hippy days. And he went thru chemo for it last year, and just found out 6 mths after stopping that he's completely healed - to the extent he can even take it off his medical chart!! Grin That increases his life expectancy a lot - they wouldn't even give him life insurance b4. So he might even consider more than one baby... 3 down 7 to go...

Yes ChaCha that's what I meant - are you translating for me Grin or am I wrong in that bottles can do the same?

Cakeb was sooooo good at the jab today - he didn't bat an eyelid for the first one and just whimpered for the second, and then smiled at the nurse afterwards. I think its cos he's just been fed - so I've stuck to the same time for next time! And a couple of hours afterwards he started crying so I gave him 2.5ml of calpol and he was fine.

Diege - how far do you have to go till you're a fully fledged driver?

goldenoldie · 17/03/2006 08:23

18 April - great I will put in my diary. Where are we all meeting up? Somewhere I can get the double buggy in I hope!

Diege · 17/03/2006 09:08

Morning! Am going to try and check availability today at booking office for the 18th; it wouldn't usually be a problem travelling over on a MOnday, but this one is a bank holiday, so just checking that every seat back to London isn;t taken! Don't worry GOLDEN, there will be lots of room for a double..of course you lot will have to decide venue..if you left it up to me it'd be Euston station!
Hi SARAH: good to see you back Smile; know what you mean about slumping on desk Grin!
BEAR: brill news about DH, you must both be thrilled!!! Better get cracking on those 9 babies Grin. Hmm, driving...well, she hasn't said yet when to put in for test, but hopefully May/June ish? Just depends when I can get my parallel parking sorted out by Blush; I swear I'm never going to reverse park when I'm fully fledged!
Right, actually going out somewhere proper today with friend (ie, not just to PO/supermarket/dry cleaners)...hope the snow stops!
Speak later,
Diege Smile

novadandypowder · 17/03/2006 09:31

thats really funny Diege - when i passed my test i wouldn't reverse anywhere! Still not good at parallel parking, but i blame DH for having a stupid car for that Wink

Londoner · 17/03/2006 09:41

HelloSmile,

Thanks Diege, Tex, Beks, BeartimeSmile.
Diege, well done on the driving lesson! Will you call inferior(Grin) personnel woman again? Lol at you rowing with dh while posting....... I can just hear Trisha, "...dp jealous of your relationship with the internet?.."etc .. You do plenty diege, and deserve a break chatting with your virtual pals, you really do. Even when us mums are apparently doing 'nothing', we're doing so so much.
Tex, you poor things, and with DH away as wellSad. Have builders finished the floor yet? Well done on organising the laundry being collected.. how does that work? Know exactly where you are with the dh's top/unbrushed hair scenario.... it's really tough when you're treading water like that... how're things today?
Twinkle, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad, and send lots of strength to you, you must be dealing with so much right now, and I hope that you are managing okay with the worry over your nan and uncle in law. This is such a tough time for you and your dh, I'm glad to hear little Josh is doing so well and hope that his sunny smiles are helping you both along.Smile
Nova, professional photos, great idea! How will you decide what everyone wears? Can't believe about Natalie's blocked duct and bug, well spotted. V. sweet image of your DH coming to watch Natalie's swimming class, bet he was really tickled to see the pair of you in the water like that. What's Natalie's cossie like? Does she have swim pants? Know what you mean about lack of enthusiasm for cooking own dinner..... I usually grab a bowl of cerealBlush, what did you have in the end?
Brownie, well done on Thomas' weight!
BEKs, ...Happy Anniversary!.. for yesterday.... sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish, you poor thingSad, and sorry too to hear your dh did not spoil you yesterday, you really deserve spoiling... can you spoil yourself when you're better? Maybe arrange a day out for either you on your own or you and dh together?
Hooray! 18th April sounds good to me!
Diege, and Brownie, gosh, back to work, must feel strange... Hi Sarah, good to hear from you again!
Beartime, what fantastic news about your dh health! Great stuff. Lol about you and your bartering for more kids.... lol! Glad Caleb's jabs went well.
Well, decided not to go to cinema today as it's 'Tsotsi' which is meant to be fantastic but don't think I'm up to handling the subject matter....gangster jacks car with baby in it and struggles to feed/look after it properly... lots of baby crying etc, er, bit stressful I reckon. Am going to relax at home insteadSmile, and off to see ds2 performance at school this afternoon, so I'm really looking forward to that.
Yay, it's Friday! Hope you all have good weekends! See you next week!

ChaCha · 17/03/2006 14:05

Twinkle - :( I'm really sorry to hear of your loss :(

Beks - I knew it! You're such a dark horse, I knew it!! :o Number 3 eh? He hee! You'll be one of the first to announce they're PG again I'm sure. Nice to hear how the boys are coming along, Ben's doing well - great news!

Londoner - Hope performance is enjoyable and more proud mummy moments to cherish.

Busy - Are you still b/f as much as you used to? I'm finding that I'm becoming just a little lazy, especially when DH is home and wants to take over.

Diege - Driving lessons going well then? Out of curiosity, what do you do with the Quorn? Getting a bit sick of the same old fajitas.

Sarah - Often wondered what had happened to you! So glad you're back. Fill us in. Did you manage to move house in the end or are you at mums?

Nova - Hope i'm not repeating what you've already mentioned but because my LO is a lot younger than some of the others i fall behind, wanted to ask when you first started swimming with Nat? Z really enjoys bath time so was contemplating swimming soon.

Anyone watch the programme Waterloo Rd?

Beartime - Yes, i was translating for you - had to work out what norks were Blush obviously not uptodate with the relevant terminology!

enjoy your weekends all
