Nova, I always wondered about your name. I grew up with a girl named Nova and have always imagined her face when reading your entries. I'm sure you've heard how to work out your porn name - take the name of your first pet and the name of the street where you grew up. Mine would be Judy Jo Shadwell. Not very porny but still funny.

Morning everyone! . DH off today for his birthday, so won't get much chance to post today.
This time last year I presented him with card with just-done positive pregnancy test, with the words 'see you next year!'. Strange to look across and see LIbby blowing raspberries in her cot .
BEAR: yes, I did have a blackout blind, that made no difference to lunch-time nap wakings. It has since broken (come off the roller, no doubt simple to fix )and it's only now that she seems to be waking with the light in the mornings (though we got to 6.45 today, yeahhh!!). The other two have blinds in their room, which really work .
BEKS: wish I could say I was a fluent welsh speaker, but I have lost much of what I knew. Was quite fluent at one time (my dad didn't learn English till he was 12), but of course have no one to practice with now living in Warrington .
Have realised Libs is really starting to change now; was jammed horizontal in her cot this morning, though perfectly happy. Had forgotten what it was like when they're on the move . Just waiting for the 'falling forward on their face' stage!

I think we're definitely teething here - Nate is starting to cry for no apparent reason and is very hard to calm down. Lots of cuddling seems to help a little, but mostly sticking my finger in his mouth does the trick. He's drooling all the time so everything he's wearing and I'm wearing is covered in drool - very attractive! If the folks at the office could see me now! The Manolos seem a lifetime ago...

Well should take my 2 minute shower and get going on this day.

Sorry its been a while but our bloody inernet connection has been off since last week. I was almost having MN withdrawal symptoms!

Way too much to read since I last posted, I'm afraid. Just had a brief skim & saw that Diege had a binge recently. I'm on SW too & finding it really hard. I NEED CHOCOLATE TODAY!!! What makes it worse is DP has taken my car to work (with emergency stash of chocolate in Ella's changing bad.) & his car has no road tax so I can't even drive to the shops.[sulking emoticon] Oh, BTW, a huge creme egg sounds divine, wonder how long it would take to eat it??

Beksmum, I really enjoyed our chat last week. Its great talking to someone & mentioning MN without having to explain what it is. Ella says she is looking forward to meeting lots of other babies at the meet next month.

I've been feeling much better since last week. DP & I had a very honest talk which really helped. He says I'm more like my old self & Ive even had the odd giggle which was sorely needed. The only problem is his snoring. I love it when he goes to the pub cos he always sleeps on the sofa. Normally, he comes to bed much later than me so I've had time to do the dream feed & get to sleep myself. I then only have to suffer it when I feed her in the night. Whilst she's getting into a deep sleep afterwards, I have to keep nudging him to stop the really loud snorts. Well last night was awful. How can men fall asleep within 2 mins of hitting the pillow? The words "empty" & "vessel" spring to mind. Anyhoo, he's having a septoplasty (nose op) next month which may or may not ease the snoring. One of these nights I'm going to squirt a load of breast milk into his gaping mouth mid-snort & see what happens. It may not solve the problem but I'll certainly feel better afterwards!

Ella is hitting the 4 month mark & is definately hard work. At least she gives good giggles which makes it seem better. She's not rolling yet, which is ok by me. Hands in mouth & dribbling but no teeth. Now in her Big Girl Bed (cot) next to me so we can see each other at night, which I love. Her "vocabulary" is impressive & consists mainly of tongue out with lots of dribble on it followed by funny raspberries.

It seems like ages since I've been on but I'm still struggling with sleep deprivation and just getting through the usual round of feeding/changing/washing/pre-school/etc is about as much as I can cope with. Have been trying to keep up though and by using Londoner's '2 window' approach I will try and reply to/comment on things. Thanks for the La Leche link as well Londoner, I haven't had a read yet but its bookmarked and ready when I am. Must admit though that over the past few days we have just gone for it, from tasters 3 times a day to meals and he's loving it. All I need is for him to sleep through again, he really can't be having a 6 week long growth spurt can he??

Right we have at last put the cot up (after we painted over the HIDEOUS transfers - there will be a before and after picture up before long!) and Ash may go into it tonight. He is currently having his first ever nap in there but was nearly zonked out when I put him in so didn't really notice his new surroundings. Problem is that he's in the office/front room as there has been little movement on making space for him in Tessa's room yet. More ranting required possibly but may just see how it works in here as I think DH will be 'helped' to make the move by realising how limiting sharing an office with a sleeping (or not!) baby will be. Just getting round the cot to get to the computer is a bit of a feat. Instant house extensions anyone?

Ella is a complete pita today. Her feeding/sleeping/whingeing cycle is lasting 2 hours, then it all starts over again.

Diege, I think she may be having a growth spurt, or something. Also she's getting used to sleeping in her cot & I have been putting her in awake everytime today. My DS would only sleep on me (something Nova understands,IIRC) so Im gobsmacked she falls asleep without me, TBH.

The diet has been poor today. After reading about giant eggs I went searching in the kitchen & found a snickers hiding. My God it was lovely. Woman cannot live on veg soup alone!!
