Apologies for the rubbish thread title - thought I'd cobble something together though!

Hug - do you have space for a jumperoo? They love them, and you can buy secondhand on ebay and they hold their value so you can sell it again for the same price practically.

hugandroll · 17/08/2012 12:59

bear I will have a look on eBay now, I could make room lol. Anything to prevent his flat head getting worse (and to helP it get better)

hugandroll · 17/08/2012 13:02

Closest one is in bristol and next closest is Swansea but will keep checking lol

VintageNancy · 17/08/2012 16:02

hug I second the rec for a jumperoo. Have you seen my photos of E in hers? She loves it.

Terrible night here - E woke at 12.30am and she had a temperature (post-jabs). Fed her, gave her calpol equivalent but she wouldn't go back to bed. At 2.30am I gave up & brought her in bed with me where she slept happily until 7.45! Seems fine this morning so hopefully that's the worst of it over with. I'm amazed how well she slept in bed - maybe we should co-sleep every night!

laughingGnomette · 17/08/2012 17:39

Worst night ever. He woke every single hour so I got about half an hours sleep between wakings :(
On top of that he has been really grumpy today, crying loads and not being his normal self. I can see anything wrong with him so I'm thinking he is just over tired.
I'm going to try and leave him with DP tomorrow morning and head for the west end for a bit of a break/retail therapy!
vintage - sorry to hear about the bad reaction to the jabs! I hope she is feeling better today. Co-sleeping can be a life saver.

laughingGnomette · 17/08/2012 17:40

*cant see anything wrong with him that should have been :)

VintageNancy · 17/08/2012 17:41

gnome sorry you had such a bad night :(. Hope you can get some rest today.

HollyPockett · 17/08/2012 17:44

HollyPockett · 17/08/2012 17:47

Sorry you had bad nights Nancy and gnome. Hopefully tonight will be better. Nothing like retail therapy to cheer you up :)

Hello....not checked in since start of the week and lots of interesting stuff going on!

I had not heard about the Bumbo recall, has it happened in the UK too? Am going to search to see if the harness is available here. DD likes sitting in hers for 10-15 mins at the moment, but we'd never put it on a table or high surface. We have a second-hand bouncer but not tried it yet.

We had the four month jabs today but no-one at the GPs recommended I should also have a general check up for DD - it was literally just the jabs and nothing more. The weekly health visitor session was cancelled this week too as the surgery was closed for half a day, at very short notice. Not too impressed with the service we've been getting lately- they tried to cancel the jabs appointment too and move to next week but I put my foot down and insisted she get them this week!

Bear - I've never yet made it to a one o'clock club, but I've heard the CP one is good. Perhaps next week will be the time to give it a go! Remind me what your initials are so I can work out who you are on the FB group, and if you think you're going next week, maybe will see you there!

Bearcrumble · 17/08/2012 18:31

Pretty sure I'll be there - I'm NM. Would be great to see you Smile

bear I'm AG, hopefully see you there!

On the good news front I have a very cheerful little girl tonight, compared to the last 2 lots of jabs. Anyone else find the last lot were better, or worse, or about the same?

HenriettaChicken · 17/08/2012 20:57

Just wanted to have a quick pop in & say 'thanks Jambalaya you rock!' Bought 240 pampers today for 6p a nappy! Lovely.

HollyPockett · 17/08/2012 21:31

henrietta love that!! DD is just about to go from size 3 to 4 I reckon ao will go and stock up :)

HollyPockett · 17/08/2012 21:37

marsh I found that DD had an upset tummy after the first jabs buy after the second she screamed while they actually gave her the jab, after, she was fine

I'd love to meet up, but can't make next week. Please do let minnow when you're next at the one o'clock club as it'd be great to meet you

newmummyvicky · 17/08/2012 21:41

We brought pampers today too, six boxes- buy
U one get one half price in boots. Had money off vouchers and points coupons, and discount! I'm so in to money saving right now! Hehe

Last few nights have been slightly better, sorry to hear if your having rough time!

The last lot of jabs seem ok last week, much better than others! Didn't get a check up with doctor, but health visitors seem happy. Lyra has a jumparoo too, she really just started bouncing. We put a pillow on the floor, so her legs can reach it. Now she goes mad! Got a couple of raspberry today and so much giggling with peek a boo, she likes it when U make her jump a bit.
Hasnt found feet yet, and hasn't rolled for a while. Just loves bouncing on people. I call her my bouncing babe! :)

JambalayaCodfishPie · 17/08/2012 23:22

You're welcome. Blush

Is a bargain, isn't it. Grin

LaTristesse · 18/08/2012 12:14

We'd also love to come to a One O'clock club but can't make this week. Let us know when you're next there!

Bearcrumble · 18/08/2012 19:52

Yes, of course :-)

HollyPockett · 18/08/2012 19:57

Bah. Too hot. I hate it when it's like this. The thermometer is tho house was at 30 this afternoon. I hate it when it's so hot, I end up checking DD a thousand times a night :(

Thaleia · 19/08/2012 17:08

Good afternoon! Shame that the we is already almost over ... it's so nice to have DH husband around and to have some "us" time. Although I feel Raphael is kind of not as much the centre of attention as during the week. There is more singing & dancing during the week ... on the weekend it's more being carried around and "look there is daddy".

My last week in London before heading back home for 4 weeks. Can't wait now ... I hope it turns out to be nice and not too stressful: moving back with mum & now being one, Dad & his Alzheimer & all the family and friends we have to visit (and want to!). I hope they like what we've produced despite that he's not a Angel or Textbook baby.

I (over)think what other people think of me. For the last 2,3 days because of the weather, I had my boobs out so much & basically everywhere. I don't use an apron, so it's T-Shirt up and on he goes. Nobody else seems to do it this way when in public. I just don't feel "ashamed". Maybe because from the start I was so concerend about his weight that I'd always feed him straight away when he made as much as a sound. Oh well, I'll see how it's going to be in the Land of No Children.

Otherwise, we're good, the nice weather and sunshine helped a lot to make me feel a lot better inside. Outside is terrible though, I so need to love 1.5 stones. As I need to hit the gym for it (and hard) I just have to wait a little bit longer. Maybe at Xmas I fit in my old jeans.

Most of your babes are older - have you started to use a high chair yet? And who weans early and who late? I haven't made up my mind but wont' start at 17 weeks as still at home and too complicated, but not sure about later @ 21 weeks ....

LaTristesse · 19/08/2012 19:11

You shouldn't feel ashamed Thaleia, you're feeding your child. If anyone has a problem with that it's them who should be ashamed.
I'm a boob out anywhere kind too! :)
Hope you have a fab trip home, they're all going to love R!

Nordicmom · 19/08/2012 19:23

I've been using the high chair in it's lie down position that's suitable for under 6 m olds recently. She's in it with a toy when i'm cooking or we're eating . She has really gotten the hang of rolling and does it now all the time into both directions. In bed she has started to turn on her front to sleep or her side no matter how many times we try to turn her.

newmummyvicky · 19/08/2012 21:18

Yes thaleia I lift up my top to feed, sometime I use a scarf in front, but its pretty hot at the mo.I feed L alot too, after all is called feeding on damand. Mostly 8 feeds per day sometimes more!

I tried weaning now, i felt she was ready, and showing many of the signs. We just tried baby rice. Its Just really thicken breast milk. You can see her learning to take it from a spoon. I gave her one to hold and fed her in the bumbo. With me next to her of course! Going to try homemade pureed fruits next and ill wait a few weeks for finger food.

She has also found her feet, and trying to roll back to front, mainly she just turns on her side. Oh and she enjoying swimming this time lots of smiling!
