Are you all in London then? Im in Birmingham! Also I realise I have joined this thread late in the day but hopefully that doesn't matter?
Ds2 all smiles and ds1 settling I think.
I ha massive issues with getting people to take their shoes off. They could not appreciate they might be traipsing cat poo all over play area.
My mil and I are mostly at loggerheads over toys. She buys way way too many and we keep sending them to charity as ds1 too overwhelmed to focus. Plus its bit crazy like a toy shop at her place and we don't want that. Always falling over them as it is.
One time she knew we had taken something out and she asked him where it was and then he wanted it!
It's all about sticking to ur guns but awkward. My dh would not confront her either.

ffnorm · 18/08/2012 10:38

Ginga I think 3 of those coming are from London and the rest Essex/Herts/Surrey,so we are meeting up outside of London Smile We want to have another later in the year if we don't all dislike each other It doesn't matter at all that you joined the thread later,it's just a pity we aren't all as prolific as in the antenatal days Grin but that's the nature of new motherhood...

Warlin · 18/08/2012 15:39

First of all, I am very jealous of you all meeting tmw.... :( sad I can't be there. Hope you have a fab time and sending well behaved vibes to all babies and toddlers.

gwenne grrr to your mil. How rude. Think it's time to take teas advice and lay down the law. I'm too soft with mil too and she winds me up but I always seem to pander to her so need to start speaking my mind more too. She expects me to contact her every week and arrange for her to see ds...and then huffs if I don't! She's high maintenance :(

We had date night last night and got very drunk (first time in a year!) so was great fun. So nice as T is cranky in the evenings so we dont get much time together! Ds stayed with my parents and was good as gold. Hangovers and babies don't mix though as I'm discovering today!! It's roasting today too. Going to take ds down to the beach but hate it when it's packed...trying to keep the dog from stealing from BBQs whilst keeping ds happy is no easy task! Dh is away cycling so won't be back for a few hours.

Ds is really developing these days... He's trying to pull himself up constantly and is "chatting" away...love watching him learning all these new things.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend x

emblosion · 19/08/2012 13:08

Hi all, hope you are all having a fab time today at the meet up, I am sad that we can't be there also :(.

The weather was gorgeous here yesterday, took ds out for a lovely walk in a forest park and he was good as gold. warlin how was the beach? Am jealous of your date night, my mum is coming over in a couple of weeks and has offered to babysit and I can't wait!

DS has been good as gold after his screamy day on Thursday, went to bed at baby-appropriate time of 7pm yesterday, slept til 11 had a feed, then didn't wake again til 4. He was awake at 6.20 but DH got up with him so I could have a lie in- bliss!

Hope everyone having a good weekend x

10000Fireflies · 20/08/2012 17:27

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a lovely time, those that met up yesterday. DH, baby and I had a v long weekend away and managed to escape the London heat, but back today and can't believe how horrible and sticky it still is. Hugs to all, and I promise to be better at keeping up with you all... if only this little munchkin would stop eating!!

Kveta · 21/08/2012 21:03

hiya, meet up was fun :)

planning another before christmas!

gwenniebee · 22/08/2012 22:09

Ok, so after 14 days of flucozanole which seemed to have helped, I am back on the painkillers after the last feed :( Burning, burning pain which is making me want to just wrap myself round my boobs and curl up. What on earth can be causing it? Surely it can't still be thrush? (Having got better, the pain actually started coming back before I'd finished the course.) DD has no symptoms, and never has had...

Help! I'm going to have to pack bf in at this rate :(

Kveta · 22/08/2012 22:17

Gwennie, can you call the la leche league helpline? Remind me tomorrow when on laptop too and can add you to a herts bfing Facebook page where someone may have a solution if you post your symptoms there.

10000Fireflies · 22/08/2012 22:19

Sounds awful Gwennie. Hope you get it sorted soon. FF xx

Sorry, used a rl name in last post so have reported it to be deleted. Here's the post again with name adjusted!
Oh Gwennie I don't know a lot about thrush. I agree with Kveta you need to speak to a helpline or get some rl help. If you want to carry on bfing I'm sure this can be sorted. You could also try the national Breastfeeding helpline 0300 100 0212, I think they are a good bet out of hours. Keep taking paracetamol/ibuprofen and see if you can also speak to someone in rl tomorrow. Local bfing group? Lactation consultant? ((hugs))

Ginga66 · 23/08/2012 06:22

How awful for you Gwennie. I remember when I was pregnant with ds1 I used to get a desperate burning sensation in nipples that made me crazy with pain / discomfort.
No on ever be figured out why it was so bad.
Are you gon back to your doctor maybe seek a referral? Maybe an obs gynae would know more?
Bf is not as easy forme with ds2 as it was with ds1 but I am getting into the swing o it again.
Have had some major birth famil issues last few weeks that ave rocked dh and I which has not helped.
And the last four days ds1 has been a holy terror. This has co incided with him trying breast feeding! He just suddenly launched at my boob, he is three, but did not like it. He has been having mega tantrums and crying spells and his new favourite word is no. I imagin it is another adjustment to ds2 but hard work not to mention distressing. He seems to prefer going to his mil than being at home too where he is top dog. Painful!

blondiedollface · 28/08/2012 14:03

Watches tumbleweed blow past

10000Fireflies · 28/08/2012 16:35

arf blondie! Has just blown past West London too!

Kveta · 29/08/2012 11:05

and through hertfordshire :o

I have just had to order a load of dribble bibs, as Em turns out to be a very drooly baby (DS never drooled, so this new!). she is getting so alert, and really watching everything with interest, especially DS. although she isn't so impressed when he shrieks in her ear when she's feeding. nor am I tbh...

blondiedollface · 30/08/2012 11:15

DD is a dribbly baby too! But I'm thinking the rosiest cheeks ever, the slimiest snot poos and the dribble must mean teething? Our hunk of love is trying to sit up (and failng bless her) she makes the jerky forward motion and flings her shoulders forward, ending up bent over double and kissing her toes! She does just seem to absorb everything... Always sat quietly watching the world and (it would seem) pondering her world domination Grin

DairyNips · 30/08/2012 15:50

Oscar is only dribble at times but those bibs are super cool so I might have to get some anywayGrin

Kveta · 03/09/2012 16:00

I'm taking both children to the paralympics tomorrow, and emilie hasn't had a poo for 5 days now Shock

what's the betting she waits until we take our seats then erupts magnificently?!

Dontbugmemalone · 07/09/2012 11:21

Is it too late join this thread/group? Only just noticed it Grin.

Kveta · 07/09/2012 14:11

never too late :) when was your baby born, weight, name if you feel like disclosing it?

paralympics were fun, em behaved herself, unlike DS and his pal, who caused utter mayhem!

DS will be 3 this month, can't quite believe it! I've been culling toys in preparation for his birthday, and have found a few baby toys for em to play with. she is getting much more alert and chattery, she's really a sweet baby so far!

Dontbugmemalone · 07/09/2012 14:32

Thanks :)
DS2- Aleks was born on the 21st June and was 6 lbs 7oz. Also have DS1 who is 4.

How about you? Sorry if you've written it before but I don't have enough time to read through 10 pages :)

ffnorm · 07/09/2012 19:58

I have DD who was born 10/06 and DS who will be 3 in DecemberSmile

My pg friend who I was visiting when my water broke had her baby boy this morning apparently had a terrible time with ventouse and forceps after 24 hours labour in hospital and 12 hours at home before going in!
