Here we go again...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
viksam · 30/06/2012 14:13

tsc that's shit about granny. Hope the second int goes well though. I can't believe they are all turning two either, time has truly flown.
chu please don't think ur being a bad mom coz ice put money on the fact that ur not. I'd love to know why they wake so early its just a nightmare. Does ur dh get up in the night at all, currently mine doesn't but ghats about to change! I needsome nights where I just don't have to get out of bed. Will B take a bottle can u express or give him formula just to get a slightly longer stretch?I

viksam · 30/06/2012 14:16

Phones playing up.
I wish there were an answer, just want someone to take them off our hands for a bit.....that's how I feel anyhow!
Mylife how's things there? How's W?
I.did get a Kip in and now I'm off to the in laws which is a shit awfull drive right across brum, not good but worth it so boys can see nanny.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 30/06/2012 17:50

A lot better thanks vik. He was sick constantly until 12.30/12.45ish when he fell asleep again despite having an hour and a half this morning Shock He's not been sick since and has kept food and water down so fingers crossed...

Early night for them both tonight. Can't. Bloody. Wait.

viksam · 01/07/2012 07:20

Glad he's feeling better mylife
How selfish is this I have just lay in bed at mom and dads listening to f yacking on untill he started fussing in the vain hope that dad would get him up I think he has already got D up. I really really want to stay in.bed but I'm wide awake now. He's just got him so im staying put but doubt I'll sleep now.
I had bloody crumpets for tea last night!Crumpets on a Saturday night! How shit, I was supposed to be going round to my friends for tea but she was so hung over from Friday night she failed to A) come out in the day and have a day out with the boys and B) do something together in the evening. I think I need to find some new friends. This weekend hasn't really gone to.plan for me but at least the boys have seen their grandparents so that's good.
What's everyone else done this weekend?
Cake I recon it must be survey time for 2 years soon seen as though its the 1st today.
Is anyone doing anything fancy for birthday? We are thinning of having an afternoon tea party 3-5 so hard to work out a good time as most are still having naps at some point.
Right,do I lie in bed awake or do.I.go.down.for a cuppa and child care? I don't know why the full stops keep appearing but its such a ball ache to remove them I'm.just leaving them!

memphis83 · 01/07/2012 09:25

viks that is so shitty of your so called friend! We are having a family tea party on the sunday, I feel bad we aren't having a party but on his actual birthday we are going to a theme park for toddlers and the week after going west Midlands safari park (as we got a free entry voucher the last time we went.) We will also be doing about 3-5, my dad and dh's mum are both on holiday so wont have a house full but my family are loud and get involved and his family just dont seem to know how to have fun so it will be my family in the garden and his sitting in front room just staring into space! At L's party last year all my family were mingling, helping with food and getting on bouncy castle while his all sat in the corner, I swear his dad was asleep behind his sunglasses as he dodnt actuaqlly move for 2 hours! Grin

Going to a wedding fair at lunch, dh has gone golf so I made him sort childcare...his dad, who has never changed a nappy in his life, L will be napping but when he wakes will probably have had a poo Grin but I dont care I had my day out planned way before golf!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 01/07/2012 11:00

We're not having a party and I don't feel remotely bad about that - he'll be two so won't remember it! I didn't give E a party until he was three because they don't understand in before then so W will probably get one next year. W's is a Friday - I'll be at work all day so we won't get home until 5pm At the earliest so doubt we'll do anything then, but they'll have a party tea at nursery for him. I will take him to a soft play on the Saturday or something probably.

W has decided he likes weeing on the toilet...he's had three on the toilet vs one in his pants today!

memphis83 · 01/07/2012 11:26

mlic we had a party last year mainly because we were moving to a house with small garden, totally selfish for my purpose adult bouncy castle and all my favourite food but because i did it last year both families are pushing for one this year. Next year it will be his playschool friends. L doesnt like having a houseful anyway! So stuff em!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 01/07/2012 12:26

5.5 wees in the toilet, 1.5 in pants...

Chulita · 01/07/2012 12:45

mlisc I'm in awe of the speed at which your boys decide they want to use the toilet. I'd like to get S out of nappies but the boy is so lazy I doubt he'd bother.

We're not having a party either. L wants him to have a train cake so we'll do that but otherwise nothing. Tbh he doesn't know any different, he doesn't have any friends so I'd be inviting my own friends round and he'd only potter around with his trains anyway.

memphis have fun at the wedding fair. I'm tempted to prise off my wedding ring sometimes and go along, at some of them you get big wedges of cake Grin

viksam I wish Brum was a little bit closer to me, I'd be well up for taking you out for the evening Wink I could do it but am too shattered at the mo...still definitely up for a spa weekend break sometime around Dec/Jan though, we really should try and organise one to give all us tired mothers a well-deserved break!

tsc that's awful about your mil, have you worked out what you're going to do about it? How's Mikey doing?

memphis83 · 01/07/2012 16:07

Disappointing amount of cake but champers, wines, amazing food...they had mimi cream teas and choc covered strawberries, shortbread and prawns in marie rose served on a slice of cucumber...it was good and worth listening to the crap array of wedding singers while I ate...I almost got seduced into booking a photographer it was good, v.v expensive and im clueless to prices but judging by dh askimg price 4 times im glad I waited!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 01/07/2012 19:27

Glad you enjoyed it Memph

Chulita they just seem to decide for themselves don't they! I think he's had three accidents all day which I think is pretty good going for a first day. Approximately 12 wees on the toilet (for anyone thinking 'that's a lot' they tend to go a lot when they're learning as they're pleased as punch with themselves so keep pushing tiny little wees out Wink) He's better on the training seat on the toilet but when he sits on his miniature toilet (potty) he is so pleased with himself he leans back so he can see himself wee and then it goes over the top of the seat, haha! I think I might just get another training seat for the downstairs toilet and forget the fish price mini toilet.

memphis83 · 01/07/2012 20:32

mlic well done to W! L holds himself and says mumm I wee or I pooooooo, then you get potty and he sits on it for ages squirming visably trying to hold it in, no amount of chatting, reading or watching telly relaxes him enough to go, then 5 mins after nappy is back on he goes, my problem is he doesnt like having no nappy on, he just says 'mummy bye bye willy pleeeeease!'

viksam · 01/07/2012 21:50

Gosh mylife that's brilliant of W! what's a clever boy, d does wee wee on the pot pot before his bath most nights and I'm wondering if I should buy some pants and see what happenes, what about poos though, do u get them to.tell u before they go whilst still in nappies ?I try and get d to tell me when he's poo'd but he doesn't.
Chu it is ashamed ur not just that bit closer to brum but I really am well up for spa weekend! Everyone else I know either wouldn't want to go or can't afford it or have children but I'd really love something like that to look forward to.
Off to bed now, I wonder how many times I will be up tonight.......

memphis83 · 01/07/2012 21:59

Im well up for a break away at the end of the year!
vik what part of brum is it? Im leicester so not too far away!

WhatSheSaid · 02/07/2012 07:25

tsc sorry to hear about your mil. Do you know what the prognosis is?

Not doing a birthday party here - I started them at 3 with A. We'll probably go for a meal out the day before (Sunday). Haven't even bought her any presents yet poor neglected second child . There are big toy sales here in July so I will hit the shops this weekend.

Was out till midnight last night and up at 6am, have a cold too and feel terrible now so will be going to bed when the kids do ( in about half an hour!).

Chulita · 02/07/2012 13:56

viks sorry but your little phrases make me laugh Grin. Ok, as long as both you and memphis are up for a spa thing I'll look into it closer to the time and see if we can convince some of the others to join us!

DH is away again this week and after the headlines today I'm even more keen for him to get out of this job asap. All the job security in the world isn't worth losing your life.

I have no idea what to get for S, he doesn't really need anything. I keep waivering between a matchbox-type car transporter and a tow truck...can't decide and will most likely not end up getting him anything!

Poor little B, I had to wake him up this morning to take DH to work after only 20 mins nap, then he wouldn't sleep most of the way around asda and he's just gone to sleep only for me to need to wake him up again in 10 mins for his second jabs. I hate waking them up, even more so when they're just going to get needles stabbed into them!

wss hope you get over your cold soon! I'm that sad, I said to DH on the way back from dropping L off this morning that I can't wait to stop bfing so I can take Night Nurse again! He said that some people can't wait to go skydiving/visit Guatemala or somesuch.

S has just vommed on the carpet...he always waits til DH is away, did this last week too!

viksam · 02/07/2012 19:21

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh thank god im home, its not a bad drive but it rained all the way and the spray was awful. The boys were very very good though however D has a rash today all over him, worse on his trunk and top of his legs, i think it must be a viral rash as he was reall off yesterday afternoon and again for a few hours this morning. Poor boy, he seems to be poorly every single time we see my mom and dad.
chu do u go food shopping with all three of them???? If he did get a new job where would you live? What Phrase made you laugh? I hope S is ok and doesnt give you grief tonight. Last night would have been a great night, one quick settle of D at 11ish and one feed for F at 4, unfortunatly F took well over an hour to settle back to sleep :-(
Im sat here waiting to go out listening to D making all sorts of noises in his cot, might have to go and resettle him in a min. Im knackered but going out for a meal with the ladies i have met at various groups when D was a baby. Should be nice. Must go and get ready!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 02/07/2012 20:24

Oooo have fun vik! You deserve a good night out. When do you go back to work?

Grin at looking forward to night nurse more than a skydive chul. Hope S wasn't badly sick. I also salute you shopping with three - my two drive me mental in the supermarket, particularly littlest boy chaotic.

Boys slept together last night and were up at 5.45 this morning :( They're sleeping together again tonight though as I haven't got the heart to separate them! I think W's teeth may have been to blame last night though as his a last one (halle-fucking-lujah) is breaking through so he's drugged up for bed tonight.

Did you manage a nap wss?

I think we might get the boys W a trampoline for his birthday.

I had salmon and vegetables for tea tonight, veggie sausages and cauliflower cheese planned for tomorrow, chicken something on Wednesday then I have run out of inspiration. Meal plans anyone?

Chulita · 03/07/2012 10:03

Shopping with 3 isn't too bad actually, L runs around getting things for me, S sits in the trolley and shouts til I get him a small baguette then he eats that on the way round and little boy B snuggles up in the sling and gnaws on his hands or sleeps.

Hope you had a lovely time viks :)

mlisc I'm in a bit of a confused mess with beds, we put B in L's room which is great in the mornings cos S wakes up when he does and L and B so far have both slept beyond 7. The evenings/nights are a pain though cos B doesn't always settle before L needs to go to bed and she won't go in if he's crying. And then through the night I'm on tenterhooks to dive in before B can wake L (even though she usually sleeps really deeply I'm still worried about waking her). So part of me wants to move them back the way they were so I can leave B to fuss a bit if he needs to but the other part of me knows L needs to sleep longer than 5.30 and that won't happen with S in the room...argh! Can't decide what to do!
Iiwy I'd let them sleep in the same bed cos it's so sweet! I'd love my two to snuggle up but no chance!

Meal plan:
Yesterday - mustard chicken & rice
today - leek/bacon pasta
wed - sundried tomato stuffed chicken breast with pesto potatoes
thurs - lasagne
fri- shepherd's pie most likely
sat - hopefully pub lunch
sun - no idea

WhatSheSaid · 03/07/2012 10:30

Supermarket shopping with 3 Shock. I am such a wuss, I don't even go to the supermarket with two. Online shop every 2 weeks and maybe a top up at the weekends, leaving the kids at home with dh.

Spirael · 03/07/2012 11:01

I'm in awe of all of you! DH and I together avoid going to the supermarket with M if we possibly can! Confused

Though in our defence our timings mean we either would have to go after work when it's quite busy and everyone's tired, or on Saturday when it's manic.

I love Ocado... I do my shopping on the bus and it turns up after M is in bed. Bliss!

I'm currently watching with interest about what will happen with the Sunday Hours law for the 6 weeks over the Olympics. I don't know whether any of the supermarkets up here will be having longer hours, but I would personally love it if they did! I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll change the law permanently.

In my last post I mentioned starting to feel a bit more human... Well, since then (and there may be elements of TMI here) I was diagnosed anaemic again. So I started taking iron which aggravated the piles I got in pregnancy. So I used a steroid cream which caused thrush. Angry And then I got a cold on top of it all!

And because I'm still in my probationary period of my new job, I have 6 days of holiday to last me until the end of the year and no paid sick leave! Baaah...

Has anyone got any experience with treatment for piles? The doctor has referred me to the appropriate clinic, where apparently they'll either inject, rubber band or operate. Confused I'm crossing my legs trying to figure out which will be the most effective and/or least painful...

OP posts:
memphis83 · 03/07/2012 12:01

spirael my sister is a nurse and she would go for rubber band treatment, she had loads and they sorted her out and she has had no trouble, she had it in her lunch break! Hers were mostly internal and she said only side effect was the smell as they died off!
vik did you have a nice time?
mlic how did they sleep last night?
chul I too think you are brave shopping alone with 3! I hate shopping alone, I like someone to come with me pushing the trolley while I run ahead like Annika Rice throwing stuff in, but failing that L is pretty well behaved we we shop alone he likes to put the things in the trolley for me!

We saw the torch come through our village yesterday, I thought it was fabulous, such a sense of community, but I had the double pushchair andhad to walk uphill from one end of village to other and back again, it about killed me off! L was so good but as she ran by he shouted at her to get off of the road! he is like a road safety officer! The buses that lead the procession were fantastic!
L is sleeping loads better since we cut down the milk intake, and if he does wake and ask for a drink I tell him no and he lies back down with no fuss!

I bought myself a new sewing machine yesterday, and a picnic hamper. My Home Start group won an award for service in the area and the money go put to us being took for a day to a theme park type place so I 'needed' a new picnic cool bag!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 03/07/2012 20:59

I go on a Saturday with my two Spiral. I honestly don't find it any harder than any other time...probably because W will not sit in a trolley.

The boys slept until 6.55am chul...perseverance may be starting to pay off Fwiw I think the bed situation as you have it now sounds better. L will sleep through more than you think I'm sure.

I won't write more cos I'm in a mood and have another cold lass than a week after getting rid of the last (awful) one. Hope everyone's ok

viksam · 04/07/2012 10:04

Having just dropped d at the cm I'm.sat in the car on the drive with f asleep in the back, I'm just catching up on chat and emails etc so I may as well stay here save disturbing him.
I did have a lovely night and a nice meal and drink, we are talking about arranging a spa day with them in august, I have never been on anything like that so I'm not sure what to expect.
Chu, what did u decide re sleeping arrangements, I think mylife is right, see what L can sleep through and if its really disturbing her think again. Can u put S and B in the same room?
Mylife, when they wake that early do u get up with them? Also does W stay in bed, I'm wondering whether to take the sides off D's cot bed? Those of u who have made the transition what decided u and have they got in and out loads?
The headline here is F woke once at 2, fed and went virtually straight back down! D woke for the day at 6.30 but was happy tinkering till we got him up at 7! The best night yet, please let it continue! Pllllleeeaassseee!
(I will just add that F has a cold and D has an unexplained rash so maybe it was an
incubation sleep!)
Re shopping I usually wait till D is at the cm but I can hang an amazing amount off the double buggy so most times go twice a week in the double. Once for normal stuff and once for fresh veg/ fruit etc. I would have it delivered but I find there is a problem every single time, veg isn't fresh or dates are short etc last time with sainsburys I had over £5 worth if food refunded cos the dates were short, doesn't help when ur meal planning though. DH is no carbing and I'm going along with him for most meals so its gona be chicken salad tonight and tomorrow. BBQ at dh's work on Friday with the kids, snack Saturday then buffet at the hild

viksam · 04/07/2012 10:06

Something went wrong so I thought I'd post before I lost it all.
Sob....uffet at the Childminders on Saturday, she's having a party in the social club up the road so its the first time we are having a babysitter since F came and I'm very nervous!
