Happy Birthday D! Grin Are you doing anything special to celebrate, DH?

M was 2 on Saturday... It chucked it down all day so we didn't get chance to go out and do anything, unfortunately. But she loved playing with all the family gathered and eating all the lovely food. We had to light the candles on her cake about 6 times because she loved blowing them out!!

She's also discovered a love of Thomas the Tank Engine, which she was introduced to for the first time. I've never seen her so riveted by the TV before. At the end of every episode there was a cry for "More Choo-Choo!". I had to keep distracting her otherwise she'd have watched the DVD all day long. Confused

Thomas is now on V+ series record for when I need 10 minutes of peace. Wink

Happy birthday D, dh your bump is tiny, your so lucky!
spirael shame about weather for birthday, she really does love trains, we have got L a wooden train set with the money from dh's dad, need to get extra trains but cant find any cheaper brands just brio trains!
We were having a birthday tea for L next week but my dad is on hol so is mil, my brother is moving house and sis working, sil says she will come and fil and my mum going to be riveting!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/07/2012 15:26

spirael thanks :) we went out for lunch and then took D to the park now we're back home and he's playing with his new toys and having birthday cake.

memphis lol really? It doesn't feel tiny to me! Still got 19 weeks to go so I'm sure it'll get alot bigger in that time.

memphis83 · 09/07/2012 18:16

dh I was bigger than you at 8 weeks but then im short so not much room for baby to stretch out!
L has been so grumpy today think he had belly ache as soo as he filled his nappy he was fine! Got him a brio train set for £20 on the Lidl offer today then spent the same on another train and carriage (everyone has asked us to get his gifts from them)
He is all of a sudden mad on spiderman he goes crazy at all the ads of it! But im sure its only because he is facinated with spiders! (cant see it being long before he eats a spider or snail)

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/07/2012 21:20

Happy birthday D and happy birthday M for Saturday :)

viksam · 09/07/2012 21:29

Happy birthday D, sounds like you had a nice day dh
Im shattered, F has cried a lot over the last 24hrs, im sure there is something wrong, his tummy seems sore all the time, today for his nap he pretty much cried for the whole two hrs, he cried whilst awake then when he did fall asleep he cried in his sleep, poor poor boy, i cried for him. I really dont know whats wrong or how to help him. He has no interest in his solids, hes much happier with pieces of food rather than puree, just as D was. The DR has refered us to the peads so we are just waiting for an appointement. Im so fed up of the crying though, he seems tired all the time as well but wont stay asleep due to being in discomfort or pain. I have been out today into town and he was so lovely to everyone but as soon as we got home and i tried to feed him he got really upset. Oh i dont know what the hell is wrong but i do know its tiring and upsetting.

memphis83 · 09/07/2012 21:45

vik so sorry about F being unsettled is his tummy more upset after solids of milk? Have you always been on same milk? Really hope the referal comes quickly.

WhatSheSaid · 10/07/2012 20:03

Dh you do have a very cute bump on your photos. How many weeks are you now?

vik how is F?

Not much news here, happy birthday to all the babies. Dh is thinking of handing his notice in if he gets another job sorted. He is quite stressed at his current place. He is also hinting strongly about me going back to work.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 10/07/2012 20:31

I know the feeling vik. I cried on my doctor's shoulder (not literally) for 35 mins today Blush as a result of W and his behaviour. Cry, scream, cry, scream It makes me so sad :(

memphis83 · 10/07/2012 22:22

wss how do you feel about going back to work?
mlic what did the doctor say about it?

Got a day of visitors tomorrow for Ls birthday as we are out thursday so ive made cupcakes in preperation for them all and i still dont think there are enough. But dh wanted to pipe buttercream on some and they are excellent!

viksam · 11/07/2012 13:23

mylife im sorry W is still like that, i didnt realize, it must be so hard, is he like it at nursery? Have you got a theory why he is like it? F has drank his milk and had some toast but will not have anything on a spoon, i tried him earlier at 11ish for his lunch because i thought he might be tired and thats why he didnt want it he had two or three mouthfulls and then cried, this happened two or three times, later he had some pear sticks and he munched for a few mins but cried again??Its like as soon as it hits his tummy he cries. I havent been giving him a bottle at lunch time but i have started to make a small one becuse hes not settling for his 12.30 nap. I just feel like its all going tits up and i felt so positive before the weekend. I know, its just a phase probably and i should just carry on trying him with puree but its hard work.
Where and how is everyone else??

WhatSheSaid · 12/07/2012 00:30

memphis in two minds about going back to work, I know I have to at some point but I also know it will be me who ends up organising all the childcare/after-school care/school holiday care/everything else child-related...plus the amount of extra money it would bring in would be minimal to start with.

I need to do it though, I have to be able to support myself, just in case.

Your birthday meal out looked lovely mlic

tsc how is your MIL doing?

Nowt else happening here. We are having a day at home (it's pre-school holidays here, they follow the same holidays as primary school) and we had a busy day yesterday with a group of friends. Caught a train into the city centre and went to a maritime museum that had school-holiday pirate-themed activities on - it was great, storytelling, balloon swords, dressing up as a pirate, puppet shows etc, all for $5 which is GBP 2.50! We were out for 6 hours so all a bit tired last night.

Chulita · 12/07/2012 07:05

wws that's cheap as chips! You can't even get chips for that price in some places...

mlisc is W like that at nursery too? Did the doctor have any bright ideas about him?
S is a grumpy boy, he tantrums more often in an hour than L used to in a day, everything has to be immediate or there's a tantrum, around the shops he has to be fed constantly or there's a tantrum, sometimes honestly I look at him wrong and he collapses on the floor...roll on 4 years old. We had our first screamfest this morning at 6.25 simply because he only got 7 hours sleep last night and he's shattered.

viks is F bad with his formula as much as solids? or is it just solids?

memphis how was yesterday?

We moved the older two back in together last night, it just wasn't working any better the other way round. B wasn't settling in the evening so we were keeping L up with us til about 8pm since she won't sleep in our bed, then she kept waking up around 4/4.30am for random things because B had disturbed her and she found some excuse to be wandering the house. I also couldn't leave B for long to squeak cos then she'd wake up so I was up feeding him every 90mins some nights.
Last night though L and S pratted about til 9pm and S was back to his usual 5.20 wake-ups. He's not woken up that early since we moved him...I might need another gro-blind, even though we've got a blackout, light gets in around it. Much as I love summer, I can't wait for the days to get shorter in the hope he won't wake up as early.

I've been reading and I want to post but honestly I just say the same things over and over again. I could just come here and post "I'm absolutely exhausted" every day and that would be about it.

viksam · 12/07/2012 13:44

chu just come on and post that then if you want, id just come on and agree with you though so it wouldnt make for interesting reading! I think i might get a gro blind for F's room and a gro clock for D. The early waking from both of them is a nightmare, i know where your coming from...............however, get this, this morning F started crying at 5.40, i left him for a bit but then decided to venture in for DH's sake and so he doesnt wake D as well, but as i got in there he did two mansized jam tarts and seemed to close his eyes and settle again! i dived back into bed in about three leaps! D then started chatting so i tucked him in and told him it was night time and to go back to sleep and i think he did???or he went very quiet. I drifted in and out of sleep untill 7.30 when i went in to the boys they were both awake but just being very quiet, how weird.
We have been trying F with a dummy again, sometimes he takes it and seems to enjoy it and sometimes he rejects it, its the crying the endless crying, its awful, so id do anything even let him have a dummy in the day!! He doesnt want to take anything off a spoon but will drink his milk fine and will eat finger food ok too. Today hes had toast, banana, rusk, strawberry and eggy bread and a few spoons of puree which made him scream??
chu feeding every 90 mins is just exhausting, you must be beside yourself with tiredness, how do you cope? S sounds like a sensitive little boy, or is he just determind? What do you do with B is he wont settle?
wss sounds like a nice day yesterday, im looking forward to DH being off for a few weeks so we can have a few days out, just hope the weather is ok.
memphis are u out for L's birthday, hope you have a nice day.
Happy birthday to everyone!! they are coming thick and fast now, remember when we used to do that list of everyones due dates, then everyones actual birth dates etc, long time ago wasnt it!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/07/2012 17:04

wss thank you! I think it looks bigger in RL though lol. Im just over 21 weeks now.
Still feels like aaages away but really its only 4 months and that'll go by so quick.

Happy birthday to all the lovely 2 year olds! Cant believe we've kept up the nattering all this time!

Does anyone know how tsc etc are? Havent heard from quite a few people in a while.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/07/2012 19:04

Well sometimes I'm glad I went back to work, other times I wish I wasn't...you can't really win! Work did ask me if I wanted to increase my hours but I said thanks but no thanks - I didn't want to give up the opportunity to take E to school, I would really miss that.

Boys are outside on the trampoline

Chulita · 12/07/2012 20:21

Wow! I sat S on the potty this morning and he just said 'no' and got off...no hope of ditching his nappies yet then!

DH has just rung to say that he won't be back tonight (having left at 5.30am) because the job's too big and they've barely started and not to expect him back before 11pm ish tomorrow He'll be working 12hr shifts or more next week too, just sucks and I wish we could be self-employed so at least we could see each other more, I don't feel I've seen him properly for months.

Good luck with bedtime mlisc (hope it's done by now or you're in trouble!)

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/07/2012 20:51

It was done and dusted by 7.30, you know me Wink
No bath as it was late, jamas on, teeth cleaned, toilet, into bed, three stories, light off, door closed. Night night, see you in the morning and not a minute before or you're in trouble Grin

Woodlands · 12/07/2012 21:19

AM so impressed mlisc, getting a boy potty trained by 2 is no mean feat!

Grr not the best day here. I was working while my mum looked after him, but somehow by the time I'd sorted out stuff for lunch and taken it back through afterwards, then taken him for a walk round the park for 30 mins to try (unsuccessfully) to get him to go to sleep, then BFed him as he was tantrumming, then sorted out Thomas DVDs on the laptop for him, then changed a pooey nappy, then cleaned up poo off the floor as we let him have some nappy free time, I didn't really get very much work done... it really would be much easier if he was in nursery for an extra session, but my mum does love looking after him!

Then after work we popped round to a friend's house but stayed a wee bit too late so he was overtired when we got home for tea and wouldn't touch it. I tried to get him to eat a bit in front of In the Night Garden but he had maybe one mouthful in total, plus half a banana and a mouthful of yoghurt. He was having such a meltdown. I sobbed a bit too... At least he was sound asleep by 7.15 - one benefit of no-nap days!

CakeandRoses · 12/07/2012 21:41

slinks back in Am I allowed back please? I'll do a survey, make tea and everything.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/07/2012 21:46

He was doing much better at home but having some accidents at nursery, but today and Tuesday he had no accidents there too so I'm fairly sure we've cracked it now.

Woodlands couldn't your mam have him at her house so that you can get on in peace?

Chul that sounds shit of your dh's work again :( Sorry changing the beds didn't work out. It will all slot into place one day. Hopefully one day soon. That goes for you too vik!

How is D sleeping now dh? What's your due date?

I'm out for tea with old work friends tomorrow night and mam is taking me clothes/makeup shopping for my birthday presents on Saturday. I'm looking forward to this weekend!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 12/07/2012 21:46

Haha! X post, did I guilt you into reappearing? Wink

WhatSheSaid · 12/07/2012 22:00

Milk no sugar for me please cake

memphis83 · 12/07/2012 22:02

Hello all im shattered so will be o tomorrow but I wanted to welcome cakes back...where have you been? I thought you had left us!
Now im off to bed with a horlicks

CakeandRoses · 12/07/2012 22:28

thanks for letting me back in! gawd knows what happened to me. I think I had a bit of a brain-leakage with the thing with F (if you can even remember back that far!) and needed to figure things out in my head. and then just got sucked into work and life and got out of the habit of posting.

anyway, i've really missed you all. Obv, I 'see' you all on fb but it's not the same is it?

mlic i am soooo impressed about potty training. i still too scarred from F to attempt it with A yet.

what else is new?

What;s the dillio with parties for the 'babies'? after dh being ill, we haven't got round to sorting something out for A yet.
