EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/02/2012 00:09

fuzzy have you read the one about the chocolate penis yet I found that pretty funny!

There was a good one at the weekend too about ILs bedroom smelling of semen Grin

Hmm am seeing a pattern there I obviously have a v immature SOH.

FuzzzyDuck · 21/02/2012 00:13

Didn't read the one about the choc penis but I did have a good laugh at the IL house smelling of semen Grin

Honestly, some are just hilarious.ay have reviled myself a bit to much on a few hope you don't find them BlushGrin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/02/2012 00:18

Evening all!
Teeth and food - how very exciting!
I'm still not really weaning but I did share a banana with A yesterday mainly because he reached for it and stuffed it in his mouth and gave it a good suck. I was expecting black poo this morning but it was yellow (note green) for the first time in ages.

Can any of you diagnose a sore boon for me? The underside of my right breast is really tender. It feels bruised. Wondered if it could be from a badly placed latch or possibly damage from doing 30day shred the other day?

Alex is beginning to rock when on his front; his bum is beginning to come up and his knees are constantly flexing and his feet trying to find something to push against. Dd crawled at 7mo, before she could sit reliably. I have a feeling DS might move earlier. Would I be unreasonable to tape him to the floor?

FuzzzyDuck · 21/02/2012 00:45

Ed, can't click link as on my phone Sad

FuzzzyDuck · 21/02/2012 01:07

Oh I found it Grin

bilblio · 21/02/2012 04:51

5am been up for 2 hours with grizzly child. Tried powders, boob, then calpol and gripe water. The solution was for him to projectile vomit over my shoulder. Thankfully I was stood up so it only hit the floor. He then promptly fell asleep. I'm going back to bed now.

Golemmings I think tape is perfectly reasonable at that age. :o

CheshireDing · 21/02/2012 05:13

That sounds like P all yesterday Bilb, cry, want to feed, don't want to feed, cry, puke, want to feed, don't want to feed etc.

Hope you get a good stretch of sleep now.

Engelsmeisje · 21/02/2012 06:52

I'm away for 5 days and you lot manage to fill up NINE PAGES of a new thread!!!!!!! Okay, will prob take me all day to catch up (just finished reading the end of the old thread and had a giggle at ed's phone auto-correcting cheekiest to Cherokees).

Had a lovely time in UK seeing family am amazingly M decided to slpee through every single night. Must be the English country air....

Be back later when I've caught up. Last week of maternity leave!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Engelsmeisje · 21/02/2012 07:48

Fingers crossed with smear Cheshire. I was told to eait until M was 6 months before having one. scheh how have you made it to 25 without having a smear test? I?d had 3 by the time I was 25! I thought they recommended having first a year after you become sexually active (but maybe they changed the advice) and then every 3 years. Over here they don?t seem to do them so early or frequently, but I got a letter just after M was born. Must remember to make an appointment in 6 weeks or so.

Am ebf and got my period a few weeks ago as well BB3!

Sorry to hear about your fil pink

scheh my dh also think he knows everything, although annoyingly he is often right and pretty good at settling M(don?t tell him I said that though).

Sorry to hear about your grandma jnice.

mrsH I use nipple cream/salve for M?s hands (he chomps on them too) as it?s safe if he puts them back in his mouth (scheh ?s suggestion from a efw threads ago). Though tbh don?t put it on his fingers, but his hands and chubby wrist folds Grin

We?ve been using a side pillow tally for only a week and a half and I can already see an improvement in M?s flat head.

Re: weaning, DH tried to give M a spoon of pureed carrot last week and he promptly spat it straight out! Have been away so haven?t tried anything else. Trying to get organized with enough milk for my MIL who?s looking after M every Monday from next week until the end of the school year in June. She just asked me when I?m giving up bf-ing (again). Feeling a bit Sad about leaving M with someone who?s not me or DH for a while day. Wish we were nearer my family as I think I?d feel a bit differently about leaving M with my own mum.

bilblio we had a tooth peeking through a few weeks ago. I looked at the weekend and there?s at least 2 there now.

DH is still in bed.. Started his medication last night and told me this morning he wasn?t going to work. I know he?s shattered. Am trying to be supportive but it?s pretty hard work at the moment (feel like I have 2 babies to look after Sad ).

Right, have to tidy up this hovel. My boss is visiting this morning. Bit late! M is 4 and a half months old and I'm starting back at work on Monday!!!!

LittlePebble · 21/02/2012 08:01

Hi Engels welcome back Grin
Sorry DH isn't feeling great at the moment hope the new meds help. Glad you had a nice time in the UK, it must be hard living away from you DPs with M so young. I know what you mean about leaving him, I'm starting back at work today (half day working from home a week so not too bad) my mum is coming to sit with him in another room while I work and I know I'm lucky having the support.

Yay for all these teeth am hoping E's come through soon he is clearly in pain and dribbling so much. I'm also using Nelsons teething powders after BB3 and PA recommended on here and they are brilliant.
Jnice glad your throat is better.
Cheshire and Bilblio hope you get better nights, I've only had two wake ups last night first time in a week that I've had a couple of decent 3hr stretches so E is getting better, I OTOH am full of his cold and sore throat...yuk!
GoLemmings sorry no help on sore boob hope it gets better Sad

Scheherezade · 21/02/2012 08:16

Hair loss doesn't sound great bilbio have you been to see the doctor? Poor baby, but it sounds like he got the nastiness up and felt better for it! C has been waking up the past few days with a rattly one stuck in, and he's doing MASSIVE poos, nice and thick and gloomy Hmm

welcome back engel - over here you have to be 25 until they will give you a smear apparently. I asked the nurse when I went for my injection last week, and she said it used t be from when you were first sexually active but they've changed the guidelines. I'm 25 in May so not long to wait!

I can't get to a pharmacy for teething powders as I live in a little village :( might ring up my doctors as they dispense my meds to see if they can get any in.

mrshende on the weekend I had to muck out 20 horses, fill up about a billion hay nets, and do general yard tasks, and then ride for 2 hours. I'm now hobbling round like a little old woman, PLUS I'm now ill with a mild cold so feel rotten! Duvet day for me.

Right, am off back to bed, he seems like he wants a nap.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/02/2012 08:28

Engels if you thought that was funny: I was on a thread last week and someone was asking what to expect after birth I said to take prepared sandwiches as food may not b so great except autocorrect changed it to prepuce sandwiches, had to google and it means foreskin FFS Grin everyone on the thread had a good laugh at least lol

Hello everyone! Sorry for not posting in weeks (at least three or four I think) but I went on holiday, had visitors, went on holiday again then got very very behind. So sorry if I have missed anything out and not responded to posts etc - I actually did a post a few days ago but the computer lost it and I couldn't summon the energy to re-post until now.

I hope you are all well! A and I are doing well, I am loving being at home with him, and feel like I have finally found my stride with this parenting gig. I love it, and he's changing so fast. Although, TBH, I do wonder if how much i am loving it is a reaction to having to go back to work in under two months Sad so I know I need to make the most of it while I can.

engels did I see you are going back to work soon? How do you feel about it? I was really career minded before I had A but don't care as much now, so have very mixed feelings about going back. I am terrified that I will hate it, but know that I have to go back to at least see how it feels, and know that I could always resign if it's that bad (and if we can afford it). I had a nightmare about it last night. Gah.

Penelope1980 · 21/02/2012 09:04

Oh just reading back LP I see you're back at work too - good your Mum is on hand! I guess how you feel can depend on what you do and what care you have for your DCs as well.

LittlePebble · 21/02/2012 09:32

Pene I'm dreading it, can't do my old job part time so having to take on new role which is more sales based (i hate sales) and much earlier than I'd planned (maternity not up until July) but if I didn't take this post other option would be assistant to my previous staff and I'm far too proud for that Blush!
I'll let you know how it goes...

CheshireDing · 21/02/2012 12:11

Just a quirky whilst P is quiet (which is not often at the moment) what do the powder do? I have Sophie Giraffe and some teething keys but she still has pink cheeks and is all slobbery and cranky.

LittlePebble · 21/02/2012 12:35

The Nelsons (Teetha) is a homeopathic remedy for them - sachets of white powder you put in their mouth and it helps sooth and calm them. Looks a bit dodgy little sachets of white powder but they really work lol! I thiink they have chamomile in them....

MamaMaiasaura · 21/02/2012 13:18

Afternoon all. Smile all got busy again that I get confused keeping up.

lp how's e today post jabs? J been running high temp and I gave paracetamol this morn. Bless her, she's swinging between crying and smiling.

Tape is entirely reasonable Grin altho I keep thinking velcro sleep suit thing might sell well lol

I'm proud of myself as managed to cook pancakes for breakfast, do ds1 went to school a happy boy. He's very food orientated.

Got assessment date for ds2 speech and language. 5th March so relatively quick. He should have been at preschool yesterday but had tummy ache.

Nelson teething salts - where can I get some and are there aide effects? Never used them before. Lots of drool (still) and can see all of them in bumps. She is a drool machine

weaning she's sucked a banana and tasted fruit and carrot on her tongue but not eaten any. Trying to get calpol in too an age. She's 4 months tomoz and ebf so holding out. Wow at how well some of the babies are doing, goes to show how fast they change in a few weeks and how one baby can be so different to another.

I finally got hold of birth afterthought service after finding out the number I had no longer worked. I know she's 17 weeks but really wanted to close book on it. Felt so abandoned and should have been Monitored. We are lucky to have her as had I delivered her without them there (they only just made it) it might not have ended well as she had cord around her neck and needed resuscitation. Thankfully she responded quickly and only a few minutes of oxygen. Sorry rambling on. Just not really got over the absolute crapness of the mw. I am thankful of course for having J.

CheshireDing · 21/02/2012 15:10

Welcome back Engels :)

Lucky you Pene with all those holidays :) I feel like that too, I was never really maternal before but love being at home with P, she is so funny and I am learning as well as her so it's great. I feel very lucky to be at home with her.

Hope today goes okay Pebble, please report back and tell us whether it was copeable having to go back to work with a new baby Hmm

Hope everything goes ok for DS2 Mama. I have just bought some Nelsons off Amazon, £4.05 (free delivery). Hopefully should improve the crankyness. What is a Birth Afterthought Service?

bilblio · 21/02/2012 16:01

Currently in hospital with Seth, gp sent us. He seems to have improved though so hope we'll be home soon.

Teething powders just pour in mouth and rub on sore gums. However no good if lactose intolerant. I've lots of allergies, fine with lactose but my brother isn't. Since using them Seth has been sick 3 times, not like him, but he's not himself anyway. Going to lay off the powders and use dentinox until he's well, then try the powders again.

FuzzzyDuck · 21/02/2012 17:16

Hope today has been ok lp. Great having your mum close that she can sit with him. It's such a thought going back to work. I'm not back till June but will have my kids extra over summer holidays then I will have to find something else for aug. just not enough hours Sad. Good luck for next week eng

Hope everything ok with Seth?

I've spend all afternoon steaming vegetables and fruit!! She had a taste of sweet potato which went down great and just had some apple purée!! Burnt my fingers lifting the lid off the steamer though. Really really sore Sad

Hope everyone is good Smile
