dh happy birthday, I think on my 22nd I was still hungover from the celebrations of my 21st Grin hope you get spoilt!
cakes on subject of degestion and allergies, I must admit if I knew more I would have looked into it but I was clueless on the weaning front that early on, and luckily he seems ok, I will try and stalk look for the neighbour, I have found his fb page but its not a pice pic, he is clearly into hunting in his native land so its a pic holding a deer of some sort :( the bastard still handsome though
on the subject of his dummy, this week I havent let him leave his bed with it in, and he is fine with that, still asks for it when tired but I just say no, I also took the dummies from my mums and told her not to buy any, still think he would sit in there all day fhe could though!
chul have a lovely weekend! I take more than a quarter of the boot for a daytrip with one!
I have been to the city this morning with my little sister to spend her birthday money, have a casserole on the slow cooker and L is in bed!

Woodlands · 21/04/2012 13:41

Wow, fab news all round tsc! Fantastic!

Glad to hear you're getting more sleep Cake.

Happy birthday dh!

This week I have been mostly worrying about a friend who was induced on Wednesday but it took forever and ended in a cat 1 crash section yesterday and the baby is in SCBU, but will be fine. Poor things, what an experience! They'd been trying for a baby for five years so it's fantastic he is finally here. She's in my local hospital so I went there on my run this morning and left a card at the reception desk in the maternity unit.

It's our five-year wedding anniversary today! We're off out to Apsley's at the Lanesborough tonight and we're going to have the tasting menu with accompanying wines.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/04/2012 17:22

Sounds lovely Woodlands :)

great news on the job!!

I've been pretty fucked off today. The 'am I talking to a brick wall or a 3yo' annoyances, the apparently-vitally-important ridiculous noise volumes from both of them and the overtiredness thanks to an early wake up and no naps. I tell a lie, W fell asleep at 4.10pm but I had to wake him at 4.25pm to eat his tea.

Now then, Chinese or Indian?

Grin
WhatSheSaid · 21/04/2012 23:17

Indian, I reckon mlic

Congrats woodlands. It was our 5th anniversary a few months ago. Have a lovely meal. Sounds like your friend had a rough time, hope she recovers soon.

Congrats on the job tsc

memphis yes, hunting is quite popular here (not in an "organised hunt with dogs" type way but in a "blokes go off for a weekend to hunt and usually end up just drinking loads of beer and getting nothing" sort of way). There are actually wild pigs living out in the bush that people hunt. I couldn't believe it when I realised I was living in a country with wild pigs roaming around!

Had a lovely Sat afternoon at local beach playground with my friend who has twins the same age as A. Today I'm in my usual "It's Sunday, I'd better sort this tip of a house out while dh is here".

viksam · 23/04/2012 07:14

Happy birthday dh hope you ha a lovely time!! i wont go on about what i wouldnt give to be 22 again
mylifeglad you like your windows, some of ours need replacing i bet it would make a huge difference. is it completly finished now?
cake mt dh didnt go to the docs and i asked him how he was feeling yesterday he said still tired but better, i think tired goes with the terotory right now! as long as hes not suicidally tired then thats ok.
chuhow did your weekend go? how were the journys? and did the cakes go down well?
memphis hows L? is your dp away this week, it must suck him gou=ing away so much.
wss your weekend sounds similar to mine, apart from the beach which sounds lovely, whats the weather like there?
i got the 3-6 month clothes down from the loft and washed them all plus the mountain of normal washing, i had a comedy pile of clean dry washing on the sofa on sunday, should have taken a pic! dh built my new ikea chest of draws so i now have somewhere proper to put f's clothes, yay! i took both animals to the vets and got vaccines etc, cost a bloody arm and a leg!! And we went for a nice walk up a lovely hill with a beautifull vantage point and a great pub! so all in all a successfull and knackering weekend, followed by a really shite night last night. F cannot shift this cold at all and he woke several times in the night and just wouldnt lie flat so i ended up sleeping in the spare bed with him then up at 6, could have been worse i suppose, only one trip in to D though again so that was good. I desperatly need to vac and shop for food so thats today sorted, wow what fun!! haha! Brum friday so it will feel like a short week.
Whats everyone else got planned this week??

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 23/04/2012 07:55

Haha, talk about need to go food shopping vik - the boys had eggs on toast this morning as we have no milk in the house. Cheese spread on the toast because we have no butter Grin We now have 2 eggs in the fridge and not a lot else. No milk, no butter, no cheese, no bread, E has no pull ups for night time...I'm a positive disgrace!

Sounds like a nice weekend vik. Glad your dh is feeling better.

On my course this morning then going shopping straight after I've collected E.

Yes the windows were finished on Friday vik, they make a massive difference. The house was always drafty before and the noise from the traffic outside was really noticable. Now when dh goes out in the car I don't hear him pull on or off the drive anymore it's that much quieter!

Right, best get ready!

viksam · 23/04/2012 13:29

Blimey mylife that is pushing a point haha. I haven't been yet cos its been pissing it down all morning. F is really out of sorts he just won't stop crying or moaning, he seems hungry all time but doesn't ever seem to finish a bottle. He has quite solid infrequent poo (unlike his brother!) And he is constantly chewing either his fingers or muslin. I'm hoping to get him weighed this afternoon and would like to think its worth speaking to the hv but frankly I get more info from you guys!

memphis83 · 23/04/2012 15:32

vik L is fine but got that its Monday so has 'I will be a brat as I get away with it' feeling, DH isn't away this week, he is only an hour away which is local for him which makes a change! have you thought about hungry baby milk for F?
mlic I need to stop shopping, I go shoppping every week when I dont need to the cupboards are bursting so is the fridge and freezer and all I have bought in 2 weeks is milk, butter, fruit and veg, I still have loads to eat so not planning a shop for a week or maybe even payday, my friends all laugh at me for having enough to feed an army but I always say we have nothing in!

L is so full on at the moment, into everything, so loud, loves to be heard drives me round the bend

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 23/04/2012 16:25

I'm home. And I'm sure you'll be pleased to know the fridge is now full Grin

Although I still have no pull ups for E as Morrisons I fucking hate Morrisons only had Pampers or Huggies pull ups and hell would freeze over before I spend £10 on a pack of nappies. He can use one of W's size 4 pull ups again tonight. I hope this rumoured hormone gets released sometime soon so we don't have to use pull ups at night any more.

Memph my cupboards were pretty unacceptable as well as my fridge. I had no baked beans, no tinned tomatoes, no potatoes...you get the idea Wink But Old Mother Hubbard's cupboards are no longer bare Grin

Vik, it sounds to me like he's having tummy pains if he seems hungry but doesn't want full feeds. Hungry baby milk can constipate babies so I wouldn't go down that route. Does he still have gripe water? I'd give him some grip water. Did you get any words of advice from your HV?

viksam · 23/04/2012 20:23

well i didnt go food shopping or vac, ace, i did go to the hv though, she ws really nice and did ask lots of questions but didnt coe up with anything new all she said was she thinks im doing the right thing, they must be told to tell you that your doing a good job cos they all say it and it just doesnt sound genuine at all. She did say that i had my hands full and asked if i had any help or down time when i said no she looked worried. F cried almost non stop when we got home untill his last bottle, poor D, i put F down in the swing at one point to make D's tea and he stopped crying and when i looked over D was rocking the swing, brought tears to my eyes, he is such a lovely boy and so very good with F.
Glad you guys are fully stocked up, im having to use cartons of formula for the next few bottles!! good job i have a stash!

memphis83 · 23/04/2012 20:39

mlic I have sorted my cupboard and it isnt as full as I thought, but still enough to get though, I want to start getting to emptying the fridge, cupboards etc as then you sort of know what your eating rather than going oooh where were you hiding!, I didnt have a clue tonight til I went searching. What is this hormone? does W wear pull ups all the time? I think we need to move onto them in the day as he is wee wee mad (but never goes when he says)
chul how was wedding

I have just watched the genius of Dahl, it was great I loved him books growing up! DH has never read The Twits or one of my fave books of all time Danny the Champion of the world!

What do you guys do when the toddlers smack? L was very 'smacky' today, im hoping its because he was tired but thinking it could be terrible twos, I get down onto his level and tell him what he did is bad and as he has been hurting the dog told him he is the dogs friend and he should be nice or he wont want to play, he just smirk at me. Im clueless how to act

Chulita · 23/04/2012 21:07

Wedding was brilliant, dc didn't get to bed til gone 9pm then we had a long day yesterday so they've struggled a bit today. Was great to see all my family though, reminds me how much I love them, and miss them now that we're all so far apart.

Mlisc I m jealous of your windows, we've got single glazing in ours...bloody freezing!

Memphis s is more aggressive when he's tired, maybe a good night's sleep will square him away.

Viks that's so sweet of d! Sometimes I pick b up when he's crying and find loads of cars on his knee that s gives him to try and cheer him up, melts me completely.

I'll try and catch up more tomorrow, it was pretty busy today, goodnight!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 23/04/2012 21:12

I pull him away from whoever whatever he's smack him and tell him no.

Then he sticks his pet lip out about a foot, bursts into tears and throws himself on the floor Grin

Yeah he wears them all the time now. It minimises the trauma of nappy changes for both of us - he is a lot calmer about it now for some reason Confused

WRT the hormone, allegedly you can't train a child to be dry at night, you have to wait until something is triggered in their hormones which makes them aware they need to wee and wakes them up iyswim. My friend's son was dry at night within a few months of being dry in the day - he was dry before 2 and a half. E however wakes up with a wet pull up every morning, despite him weeing last thing before bed and getting up between 6.30am and 6.45am every morning to go to the toilet (then goes back into his room until the sun come up)

That's v sweet vik. Mine are like that together at times. Then other times E only has to so much as touch W and W starts screaming and pushing him away Confused Tonight E smacked W in the stomach so I told him off. 2 minutes later W cracked him over the head with a toy car. Oh the joys Grin

Woodlands · 23/04/2012 22:36

Evening all. I got selected for the Mumsnet Waitrose cookery school day! Yay! Really looking forward to it.

Glad the wedding was good chulita! We're going to one in a fortnight (though actually they have already had a v small wedding so this is just the party, bonus with a toddler not to have to keep him quiet during a ceremony!). Am looking forward to getting J on the dancefloor. We'll try to keep him up quite late, not sure how that will work as he's nearly always asleep by 8pm. If he gets really tired will take him for a walk in the buggy to get him to sleep.

Wet wet wet weather here - am having lots of wet walks with J in his wellies and waterproofs, splashing in the puddles.

WhatSheSaid · 23/04/2012 23:02

vik weather here is really nice, we've had a lovely sunny autumn, actually a bit nicer than summer cos it's so hot and humid and you have to constantly reapply factor 50 because the sun's rays are so strong here. In autumn it's a bit cooler but still sunny.

And yes, I think hvs are told to always tell you you're doing a good job, the equivalent of my hv here always writes in their little books "Well done, you are doing a great job!" and puts a little smiley sticker next to it like I have passed a spelling test at school Grin

memphis, yes the hormone is one kids don't start to release till they are 3 or 4 or even later, it enables them to stay dry all night by slowing down the production of wee by the kidneys at night-time so they don't need to wee till the morning. A has friends who are 4 who are still in night-time pull-ups and one friend who is 6 is still in them - and the doctor says this hormone sometimes isn't released till they are 7 so this is within the range of normal.

Glad the wedding was good chulita, I am amazed at your energy...

woodlands do you go and have cookery lessons for the day then? Sounds like something I need.

A is back at pre-school so nice lazy mornings with just me and G. Well, not that lazy, I'm doing 2 loads of washing, making bread, taking the dog out and getting petrol, oh and listing some stuff to sell on t'internet.

Sounds fab woodlands! I would have loved to but figured I was a bit too far away from London. When is it?

tsc any test results yet?

Sounds lovely over there wss. We had a nice sunny day yesterday but that's the first day in about 10 it hasn't rained.

No plans for today at all. It's just me and W this morning which, between Easter and the widow men last week, is the first time in over 3 weeks that the two of us will be on our own!

WhatSheSaid · 24/04/2012 07:43

The widow men? Shock Grin

It's a bank holiday here tomorrow, Anzac Day (like Remembrance Sunday), always a day off on the 25th April, no matter what day of the week it is.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 24/04/2012 08:05

Yes the widow men, haha! Grin

Blush
Woodlands · 24/04/2012 08:25

It's this, on 12 May. Am going with DH and my parents are having J for the day - yay!

memphis83 · 24/04/2012 09:17

Interesting about that hormone, nother thing im clueless about!
mlic I had L in pull ups most of the time before his bug as it was easier but it was costing a fortune with so many nappies a day so stocked up on normal ones, I doubt he will be ready til about 2 and a half, dh was dry at 18 months and within a month dry at nioght too acoording to MIL, thing she mentions it thinking im babying L by stillhaving him in nappies, but it was her MIL that took him for a few days to do it for her so if she is that bothered she can let him piss all over her floors! Grin

Im going on a diet today, in 5 weeks I have a friends wedding and I want to look slim, I have piled it on recently, so have thrown out all my biscuits Shock Half tempted to just chain smoke and drink coffee but would probably be cheaper in the long run to have lipo! asked DH to pay for lipo for me but he said no way when he realised I meant it, even when thin I have thunder thighs and I want them slim!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 24/04/2012 09:24

I'm low carbing at the moment and I love it

Chulita · 24/04/2012 09:34

I just started Slimming World, not sure how baking will fit into the scheme though...

I didn't know about the hormone either, L gets up at night to wee (any excuse to get out of bed).

bf typing does my nut
