G is dropping her nap too - and she sleeps much better at night because of it. Same here mlic - if she does sleep in the day I wake her after 45 mins and she goes to sleep much more quickly at night.

memphis83 · 18/04/2012 10:51

I dread the day L stops napping, he still has about 2 hours in the day, even if its a really late nap he still goes bed ok by 7.30.
mlic with the sides on? I wouldnt be able to get back out after sleeping in one I reckon!
wss he probably isnt that hot, but compared to the other weird neighbour he is utterly gorgeous Grin I think a lot of AB players come to our team, we have a few in our village.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 18/04/2012 11:36

But doesn't he wake up in the night for his dummy and stuff? Once W is in bed at 7pm, I don't see his pwetty little face until 7am (unless I go and check on him) Last night was a major one-off, he normally sleeps 11.5 or 12 hours straight.

My saving grace is that they go to bed at 7pm and stay there and I have time to myself to watch tv/films/read/eat in peace/talk to dh. If I don't get that time to myself I find myself starting to crack up.

Just saw that J slept 13.5hrs last night woodlands! Wow!

Chul any pregress with the hearing test for S?

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 18/04/2012 11:38

Progress. Obviously Blush

memphis83 · 18/04/2012 11:47

mlic he slept through last night, he doesnt nap on the days he is at my mums and he is so exhausted he has a really unsettled night and wakes up about 5 times, I really dont think he is ready to drop them and neither am I
on subject of dummy, I only let him have it in his room but while ill Ive allowed it, he just whittles for it all the time, I really dont want him to have it much longer but how the hell am I ever going to prise it from his chubby hands or jaws?

It doesnt help that mum lets him have it in the day, I need to lay the law down with her I think, she also lets him jump on her bed, which he then wants to do here.

viksam · 18/04/2012 14:01

Both boys napping, this is getting to be a habit! NO WAY an i thinking of droping D's nap, any time that he has only had a short nap or no nap it hasnt made any difference to his night time sleep, its always crap! His eyes are awful, he looks lke hes gone 10 rounds, poor boy. F is no better and has now got a poorly eye, they both have drops. The house is a tip but im having coffee and a twirl and maybe some shut eye!!
mylife u got into his cotbed?????? Wow i dont think i could do that!
Oh mannnnnnnnn im soooo tired.

Chulita · 18/04/2012 15:12

We've got an appt on the 2nd May so hopefully we'll know then. I honestly have no idea how they're going to test a lazy, willful boy but I'm sure they have their tricks!

viks both my boys are napping too, and again someone popped round so I've not managed to get my head down. Honestly weeks go by with no one stopping by and the two days I could've have 2 hours kip I have visitors...

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/04/2012 17:12

Speaking of napping im in a bit of a dilemma with Ds naps. I thought he was ready to drop his. He didn't have one on mon and went to bed easily and quickly but then was really moany the next day so he had half an hour, obv not enough as he was moany all afternoon.
But if I let him have an hour+ nap he takes foooorever to go to sleep, half an hour min. I don't know if it's anything to do with his naps or if it's because it's staying lighter outside for longer etc.

Sounds like alot of the little'uns are dropping their naps, it's so hard to know if D is there yet or not!

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 18/04/2012 17:13

Sorry I meant if I let him have an hour nap he takes forever to go to bed at NIGHT.

OP posts:
memphis83 · 18/04/2012 17:45

It is manflu central here, seems this afternoon L and I are getting something, he is holding his head saying ow and crying, I feel heavy headed but DH is never ever ill and im glad he isnt because he is doing my bloody head in, his sad sorry face, ive sent him to bed! he clearly has a bug but is insisting on drink lemsips told him they wont help him! roll on tomorrow when im at work!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 18/04/2012 19:29

Yes. In the cot bed with the sides on. Wasn't the first time and doubt it'll be the last! I haven't got the stamina for long periods of awakedness overnight these days so it's my lazy option Grin

The lemsips might help memph. Better than nothing that's for sure

You're right chul. He won't be the first child they see who is descibed as willful and lazy I'm sure!

DH W still sort of needs a nap, but it impacts too badly on his evening. The workmen did the living room windows this afternoon so we had to go upstairs. At 3.15pm W crawled into my bed, pulled the covers over him and fell asleep! Twas very cute, but I only let him have half an hour then woke him up and he went to bed at 7pm o bother. If the workmen hadn't been here and the house a state of utter carnage to distract him he'd have moaned until his tea. He always picks up after tea, he loves his food Wink

So what I'm trying to say is sometimes I find he needs a short nap, other times I let him go without. It's a balancing act at this phase and it ain't fun.

Woodlands · 18/04/2012 20:13

This is the trouble, isn't it - the time at which they need a nap gets later and later. It only seems like a few weeks ago that J was fairly reliably ready for a nap by 11.30, though that was during an early waking phase. I really didn't enjoy the stage of transitioning from two naps to one and I guess this will be the same sort of thing all over again.

Today he didn't have a nap as he didn't get up till 9.30, but it was quite a hard day. If he doesn't sleep he at least needs to sit down quietly for half an hour, and for some reason he's gone right off TV so we can't really do that at home, so I have to take him out in the pushchair. So no rest for me! Mind you he was very good as I went round the shops - bought him some new wellies and then some bits and bobs in the pound shop to put aside for our four hour flight in less than four weeks time (aargh!).

viksam · 19/04/2012 03:56

Just quickly coz i thing F is asleep after ages of trying to get him back off, follow the link on fb to needles blog, oh dear ive just been in floods of tears, she writes it lovely and it left me in marveling at her honesty and braveness to write it all down. Needles if you read at all my thoughts are with you and your family.

viksam · 20/04/2012 08:18

Ummmmmmmmm wgere is everyone?

Chulita · 20/04/2012 09:49

I'm here! Been making fairy cakes for brohim's wedding tomorrow between trying to settle B and looking after the other two - not much time for mning at the mo!

mlisc I have to admit I snorted at the vision of you clambering into W's bed over the bars Grin hach!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 20/04/2012 10:00

I'm a delicate, lithe little thing y'know. There was no 'clambering' involved

Grin
Chulita · 20/04/2012 20:54

Right, fairy cakes made, kindle charged, bags packed, we're off at the arse crack of dawn for wedding number 2. We've packed so little i'm sure i've forgotten loads! Seriously it fills a quarter of our boot...
Anyhoo, b's been asleep for an hour so i'm off to bed meself now. Goodnight all.

viksam · 20/04/2012 21:03

Ahhh chu have a lovely time, hope u havent forgotten anything but even if you have theres shops so dont sweat it.
Seriously where is everyone...................

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 20/04/2012 21:34

I'm here :)

Have a great time chul

How's things vik?

WhatSheSaid · 20/04/2012 22:56

I'm here, I just can't think of anything interesting to say Blush

I think chulita deserves a medal for going away for a wedding with 3 such small dcs though...

Saturday morning here and A has a friend round for a play and G is colouring.

(See I told you I had nothing interesting to share!)

CakeandRoses · 21/04/2012 08:20

blimey i think chul deserves an obe - she made cakes too, don't forget!

been reading but not posting again this week but i think things are calming down a bit here so will be more regular from now on i hope. it's also annoying cos if i'm logged in under my other name MN don't make it easy to switch names so if i only have a minute spare then i just read the thread.

i had a bit of a career/life epiphany on Monday - i realised i really don't want to go further up the ranks of senior mgment in a corporate and there's no point killing myself when i don't even want promotion etc. i don't know what exactly i do want to do (work for myself doing something woo, do consultancy to other businesses, or work for a smaller company - or maybe all three Grin) and it might not be til things are easier on the childcare front but it feels great knowing for sure that i have choices.

tsc any news there about mikey? and clara? and your job?

how're things there at the moment vik? did you say your dh is getting some help from the docs?

are you pleased with the windows and doors mlic?

i'm in the tea-making camp like you, i even do toast or biscuits. the tradesman we have here are almost all regulars (the downside of an old house i guess) and a) aren't the type to stand and chat for ages and b) are nice chaps who do a good job so the least i can do is make them tea.

re naps, F had an hour til he was 3 so i'm expecting the no less from madam! currently she still has 1.5-2 hours nap. and she's sleeping thru 1 in 2-3 nights!!!!! i feel like a new woman.

i agree the early weaning might well help reflux memph but i do worry about it going on to cause other issues like allergies or digestive problems. it's a bit of a no win situation really Sad That said, after the reflux finally went F has been as fit as a fiddle ever since.

i think you need to be hardcore about the dummy and make sure your mum is too. A still has hers for sleeping but that's it - never in the day. i thought i'd be desperate to take it off her but she never wakes up for it and it doesn't cause any issues so i'll just see when the time seems right to get rid of it.

i'm intrigued about memph's neighbour too now wss. think she needs to put a link to his details on our fb group like a proper stalker Grin

not much planned for the weekend yet, am just so happy to finally have everyone well again and dh here so looking forward to doing something nice together. maybe go to cambridge for lunch and a mooch.

oh and he spoke to that job yday and he's still in the running Confused

hope you all have a brill weekend. i'll do a survey soon i promise!

Phew - essay!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/04/2012 12:26

Yes I bloody love them cake! The house is much warmer, and much quieter and much less scruffy looking for having them done. And the front door actually stays shut without having to be locked, which is always a bonus Wink Grin

Nice one on the sleep front cake. ds2 slept through until ds1 sodding well woke everyone up at 5.50.

Been to playgroup this morning. Think mother s coming over to see the windows boys this afternoon and my friend nextdoor said she'd let me know when she's back in this aft so will hopefully see them. Early night after a bottle of wine film I think tonight.

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/04/2012 12:34

its my birthday!! 22 today! Grin

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 21/04/2012 12:54
