Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
memphis83 · 14/03/2012 21:02

mlic there is something scarier than the baby stage for me and thats 2 in nappies and a double pushchair, I cant get the hang of a single one Grin so need L on a buggy board first!

memphis83 · 14/03/2012 21:21

Just spoke to dh and he said she did say all of that but reminded me that the first thing she asked was if I was married, I answered well I am yes, but not to him and apparently she pulled a right cat bum mouth Grin so maybe she was scaremongering as we were living in sin!

kkfairybrains · 14/03/2012 22:10

Grin memphis!! Yeah we'd want everyone there if they are able. I can't imagine doing it without my friends and that there! We won't tell anybody we're thinking of it until we're engaged as I want people to be shocked and not expecting it cos it makes it more exciting!

CakeandRoses · 15/03/2012 00:05

congratulations dh - fabulous news!!how do you feel?

A's nearly back to normal now thanks vik. has felt like a trying old time tho and work's been full-on too. i feel like a washed up piece of old junk at the mo.

knackered and it's late so only a quickie from me.

re birth cert and marriage. we had the same thing re F as we married when he was 11mo. you need to reregister the child after your marriage - its a legal requirement and makes them legitimate Hmm. they get a new birth cert - so yes F does have 2.

if the (unmarried) father wasn't present at the child's reg then he doesn't have full parental rights. once you're married either one of you can register the birth and rights for both are assured.

i assume a child born out of wedlock wouldn't automatically inherit their father's stuff but none of this affects wills tho afaik.

maybe your case is more complex because you're still married to your ex-nightmare memph

hope everyone's ok. catch up properly soon x

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/03/2012 07:23

vik most people know now except dh's parents as we haven't seen them yet, he said he wants to wait til 12 weeks though but I don't think I can wait that long and it's his mum and dad they'll be thrilled!
I'll announce it on fb after the scan for distant rellies and friends I don't see much.
Quite a few close friends know now because they knew we were ttc.

cake thanks! I feel ok generally, bit crampy and yucky this morning though.

I put my name on the midwife list yesterday so got my ante natal care book, feels so real now!

I got two sleepers!!!yay! Just had a bovril and philladelphia sandwich, yum yum. Might have to go back for another one.
Was invited to soft play this morning and im a bit peed off that i didnt go cos i really like the girls who were going but D was a nightmare last time and due to whingy, clingy snotty noseness i decided not to go again, bummer. Went to a stay and play instead and he was fine. He has a little gathering of spoty right by the corner of his mouth, he looks like a glue sniffer! Im soooo hoping its not H,F&M, cake what did it look like, and were there any other symptoms?
F has just projectile vomited all over my only pair of jeans and the sofa and himself, i guess cos he has a cold still.

viksam · 15/03/2012 14:26

oh well that peace and quiet lasted all of 5 mins, F is proper out of sorts and grumpy, and i bet D will be the same when i wake him up in a bit. looking forward to this afternoon...........not!
chu hows things there? U got the latch sorted? Hows the other two with B?
Regarding all the whingers what does everyone do about it, i have read such conflicting information.

vik bovril and philly sandwich Confused can't imagine that tastes nice!

It's been looooovely here today, took D to the animal park just me and him it was really nice. He's scared of chickens though, they had some roaming free and he clung on to me when they came close!

memphis83 · 15/03/2012 17:47

cakes thanks for verifying, thought I must have gone mad!
tsc they knew I was married to someone else and didnt question it so I assume its ok, why is hotel a con?
L has been good for my mum, I have had a long day at work and dh is going to be late due to an earlier crash on m25, bought all my plants for my garden, hope to get them out tomorrow at some point, also plan on scrubbing all the paths and patio before the hosepipe ban, will only want a bucket or 2 but our tap is on the side of house and dont want any neighbours reporting me! Grin

memphis83 · 16/03/2012 12:09

I think I killed the thread! Shock Grin

Chulita · 16/03/2012 12:34

Ack tsc, not again! Is it F again? What a blooming nightmare, get out soon!

memphis83 · 16/03/2012 13:23

tsc hope your home soon!
chul how you feeling apart from tired? how are the 3 coping with settling in together?
Ive just been gardening while L is asleep, my gorgeous rugby player neighbour saw me at my best as usual Hmm bet he thinks im a dowdy strange housewife!

Chulita · 16/03/2012 13:53

Sore :) I keep over-doing it simply by reaching too far or something dumb like that. The mw said that it being my 3rd cs it's bound to take longer to heal and I need to be sure not to do anything stupid. Easier said than done though, I've nearly scooped S up so many times in the last 4 days...hey ho, need to be careful for the next 6 weeks and then hopefully we'll be home free! B is doing his best "sleep all day, up all night" routine...why do they settle in the cot during the day but not at night? L and S seem to be fine with him, I don't think they notice him that much tbh.

viksam · 16/03/2012 14:56

im here but nothing much to post.
tsc oh no, i hope hes ok and you get out asap! poor you!
chu dude tell us how things are,we are all dying to know how your getting on, hope your not too tired, i can sympathise..........although, F didnt wake up untill 4.50am from 10pm. All good, i just hope he can go that bit longer now. D is early waking though so he was awake by the time i was going back to bed, nightmare. I have no idea how to get him out of it wss you had the same problem for ages, what did you do? chu is S still waking mega early?
dh how u feeling? You should try bovril and philly sandwiches, yummy! I has ham and philly today though, a bit more conventional! haha.
F has been awake for over two hrs now, he must be knackered but hes so smiley and chatty, i love him, hes ace!
Anyone doing anything nice for mothers day? Dont think we are, no dosh!
Right must go get D up!

DesperateHousewife21 · 16/03/2012 17:34

vik I might give them a miss! Ham and philly sounds good though Grin I'm doing ok, get dreadful stomach ache when going to the loo though (sorry tmi!) but hopefully that will pass, don't know how much more I can take of it it's been 3 days now!

memphis83 · 16/03/2012 18:46

viksam Ive asked for a cookbook, and dh said he will take me out but I have asked for something like a curry or pizza in the evening as I cant do a carvery, restuarant on mothers day as it will be packed (prefer a pizza or curry anyway!) Bovril is like Marmite isnt it? I would like that I reckon!
chul must be hard as L and S are too young to understand that you cant do much!

My best friend's gf is pg had a 12 week scan today, and the mw said she is almost certain it is a boy! so early to be told Shock the mw admitted to us at 20 wk can that she knew L was a boy at 12 but couldnt say! Im so happy for them its my first long term best friend who is having a baby!

Made a curry feast tonight, cant wait to tuck in, my friend gave me all the traditional spices all measured and the recipe, it smells so good! my first real go at a curry without using paste!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 16/03/2012 19:52

I'm here :)

I also made a curry from scratch tonight (but noone measured my spices out for me Wink) Curry for me and made pizza for dh - so I've had loads of garlic and he hasn't, he's going to love me tonight Grin

Never even heard of bovril and philly sandwiches! they sound disgusting

Mother's day in my opinion is about the kids doing stuff with/for their mam. Mine are too young to do more than make a card, so it's not 'my time' yet. So we'll all go to mam's and I'll cook a dinner there. I don't want any presents unless they've been made by my kids.

WhatSheSaid · 16/03/2012 20:24

Mmm bovril and philly just sounds like a variant of marmite and cheese (which I love). Not as keen on Bovril as Marmite though.

I think it's C tsc is in A + E with, hope she's better soon.

vik, yep when G had silent reflux she would wake at 4 and take an hour to get back to sleep, then A would wake at 5.30. Tbh I was just knackered for quite a long time. I tried to rest in the day and all that malarkey. It got better when A got an afternoon place at preschool and I had a bit of time in the afternoon with just the baby and could rest then. I also had quite a few "going to sleep at 8.30pm" nights simply to avoid losing my sanity to sleep deprivation. It got better - it always does.

It's not Mothers Day coming up here so not doing anything here.

Went out for a couple of drinks at a friends last night, dh is going out to watch rugby (on TV at friends at 2am) tonight. No other news!

CakeandRoses · 16/03/2012 23:21

tsc Sad hope you're back home now and all is well

oh chul please try to rest. i didn't after the first one but did more after A (weirdly) and healed much quicker that time. hope B is being gorgeously snuggly.

A's ill again! nuffin that serious - being sick again but i can't quite believe it. three illnesses in 3 weeks. just so bloody knackered. she's as happy as anything tho so at least that helps.

sorry vik i didn't reply to you about H,F & M, have you decided it's not that now?

never eaten bovril but love marmite. A likes a blob of it on her breakfast plate and scoops it up with her finger Hmm

the home-made curry sounds great!

re mothers day: usually dh takes us all out for the day somewhere of my choosing, gets me card/s, presents and a nice lunch - i'm def not gonna tell him that the DCs are too young ;)

this year we're going to go for an italian with family on sun as it's also my grandma's bday and thought it would be nice to join everyone for that.

think we'll go somewhere nice tomo instead - maybe greenwich or brighton.

hope you all have a good night's sleep tonight. see you tomo Smile
