Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jnice · 27/01/2012 19:31

L is a lot brighter today and fever down - I can't remember if I updated since hospital trip but he has an ear infection and on amoxicillin. I am being paranoid mum as he is refluxing meds back up. I gave visions of a superbug emerging Sad an waiting for nurse to call me to help me work out how to space them well with feeds.

sche I'm so glad you and C have turned a corner. L has cried longer than 12 minutes in the car without my intervention so although I am not a CC person I can see for myself it's no big deal.

MamaMaiasaura · 27/01/2012 20:38

Jnice - glad L on the mend. Hope nurse gets back to you re meds and reflux

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 27/01/2012 21:32

Sorry don't remember who asked but yes it's nelsons teetha granules I use.
Had a great meet up today with fuzzy & mrsH despite DS being a terror! Also managed to get round ikea with M in pram and trolley with bookcase and drawers and DS on top and pack them all into my mums tiny fiesta Shock still not sure how I did it lol.

Glad to hear everyone seems to be doing better re naps/colds etc DS has now given M his cold she cried and coughed so much tonight that she was sick twice, but it was like White jelly she brought up?? Anyone have experience of this?

FuzzzyDuck · 27/01/2012 22:04

Did anyone see one born the other night? How unbelievably emotional! Sitting here bawling my eyes out! Lovely ending to see the husband and wife with their daughter Smile

MamaMaiasaura · 27/01/2012 22:57

Yes FD - I cried. Elizabeth is cherished

Fleecy · 27/01/2012 23:10

Yes FD and maia I saw that too. Very moving! And I am still just one (very) large mass of hormones.

Not had any white jelly sick here so no help I'm afraid.

Inspired by scheh I put L down wide awake today because I thought she'd been awake about the right amount of time. And she went to sleep! Normally I bounce her in the chair until she's just about to nod off them pop her down. Or feed her to sleep then wake her slightly and put her down. So this was something of a revelation!

sassy34264 · 28/01/2012 08:35

ed it sounds like mucus.

pen so awful about the baby. unfortunately ive read that it's up to 9months for sids.

welcome back bub

so pleased for you scheh

jnice hope you can sort the meds out. ear infections are horrible in this house. mine are always really poorly with them. x

pebble i have my dp away during the week. its such a weight off when he gets here. only 2 more weeks to go though and then he is home forever!!!!!!!!!!!!

we are off to look at my dream house this morning. its got 3 floors and that doesnt include the cellar. put it this way, the kids would have a bedroom each and a bathroom on the 3rd floor, me and dp would have a bedroom, a bathroom and a room as a walk in wardrobe room on the 2nd floor and we would be able to have a living room, dining room, play room, kithchen and utility room on the 1st floor. and then there are 4 rooms in the cellar!

only 3 problems- its back in wigan, it doesnt have a garden (although it is across the street from the park) and i would either have to drive dd1 to school every morning and back or change to a school i didnt want her to go.
said to dp, its going to have to blow my socks off. but got a feeling it will, just cos of the sheer size of it.

FuzzzyDuck · 28/01/2012 08:43

Yawn.... That is all Angry

golemmings · 28/01/2012 08:50

Is white jelly sick not mostly mucus? Kind of like stringy poo?
You lot inspired me about putting A down for sleeps and I was going to try yesterday but he fell asleep in his car seat on the way back from rhythm time. Last night though he was wide awake at bedtime. I tried to put him down but he wasn't having any of it so I popped him in his chair and sorted through some of his outgrown clothes. As soon as he started to look tired I popped him in his bed and all was silent by the time I got downstairs. Infact it was so silent that I went back up to check the baby monitor still worked and he was fast asleep.

I'm impressed he went down so easily Nd I'm really pleased that I got all his clothes sorted. We now have huge sacks of nb-3mo, 3-6 and 9-12 to go in the loft today plus 3 bags of clothes to pass on and return to friends which I shall do next week. Infact I may even put them in the car this morning and declutter the nursery. Alex had found my inner flylady and it feels slightly peculiar to care this much about my house but very empowering and slightly smug making. Maybe the flylady will inspire me to wash my kitchen floor this month!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 28/01/2012 09:09

Me and mhairi both have cold/flu now thanks C :-(
I think it was mucus.
sassy only thing I'll say about a townhouse is 2 sets of stairs to Hoover :-( I constantly have at least one set of stairs that looks filthy as I can only ever be bothered doing one at a time. And by the time I do the other the first is dirty again
lemmings won't be long before u need the 9-12 month clothes.

Jnice · 28/01/2012 09:22

ed you poor things, get well soon. I'm glad I got a flu shot this season, it's been pretty bad.

I spoke to (lovely) nurse. She said that I must give another dose if he barfs it up. No worry about doubling up with amoxicillin apparently. When he is well she wants to reassess whether he should be on reflux meds as the weight gain is poor. Having been born on 97th he is now on the 25th pc.

I am in awe of you all getting bubbas to put themselves to sleep. When L had recovered we might give that a try.

Poor love was having trouble feeding earlier due to ear pain Sad

FuzzzyDuck · 28/01/2012 11:39

where is everyone...?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 28/01/2012 11:47

Having a pj day with the family :-) [and I've started a new iBook so MNing less :-)

Fleecy · 28/01/2012 13:09

jnice DS was 10lb2 at birth with a head circ. off the charts. But has settled on the 25th centile - has been there for over 2yrs now.

Sorry for bad night fd and illness ed

Jnice · 28/01/2012 17:42

Thanks fleecy. My DS2 did similar, so rationally I know it's ok but emotionally I find it just as distressing as last time. Sad
Also, this time they may say its a medical reason with him having reflux. DS2 didn't have that. Idk why I can't stop fretting about it.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 28/01/2012 18:14

well i dropped my phone again so is officially broken and wont switch on, so i'll not be on much till insurance fix it.

featherbag · 28/01/2012 18:29

Fecking MIL is staying for the weekend, and has just made a very thoughtless comment about how much easier I'd find it to settle Sam if I was breastfeeding, and how it would've been better for us all. This despite the fact she knows how upset I was when bf failed for us, what a worrying time it was when he was becoming dehydrated, constipated and dropping weight, how utterly devestated I was and still am. I could cry. She also didn't help when I was desperately trying to save bf by installing herself in my living room for 12 hours a day for a week, and refusing to take even the bluntest of hints to piss off Say nice things to me, stop me biting her!

LittlePebble · 28/01/2012 19:37

Nice Featherbag, good Featherbag step away from MIL and go get yourself a huge glass of wine (a perk of not bf!)
Really thoughtless I don't blame you for being upset not sure I would have managed not to cry held my tongue.
Ed Sad for iPhone and sickness
Jnice hope L is better x
Sassy don't know how you cope with Eva and the twins with DH away all week

OP posts:
BB3 · 28/01/2012 19:57

BB3 · 28/01/2012 19:58

Jnice how is ds now?

Ed - grr for iPhone I'm on number 4 thanks to my clumsiness ds Grin

PenguinArmy · 28/01/2012 20:49

featherbag :(

mine are visiting tomorrow, was suppose to be a weekend but we pissed them off by not being available for their chosen one so they came for a day this weekend instead Grin

All of a sudden yesterday DS's sick got to me Confused although I was pretty tired. Me and DD have colds but hoping DS will be OK

Those without DHs are doing admirably.

Right back to my mojito

Penelope1980 · 28/01/2012 21:42

Just popping in from trying to get Amotai to sleep to say I am jealous of PA's mojito ..

Scheherezade · 28/01/2012 21:46

Have to admit to having a sneaky glass of red earlier.....

LittlePebble · 28/01/2012 22:03

Eli in bed by eight pm, so I've just had a yummy glass of prosecco and DP just called to say he'll be back first thing as he misses us so isn't going to stay til lunchtime with the lads Grin

OP posts:
cheekydino · 28/01/2012 22:36

Hope you've managed to restrain yourself feather - what a tactless and hurtful MIL you have.
PA - sympathise. My ILs have just invited themselves to stay for three days in a few weeks, and I'm not looking forward to it, even though they are nice enough.
Ed- don't know how I would cope without my phone, hope yours is replaced super quick.

We've just had an awful few days. Not only did we have an a and e trip with ds for croup on thurs but dd vomited blood on Friday morning - only a bit but obviously had to go to doctor and take ds who by that point was bouncing off the walls having been up since 3 am (and refusing to nap). Dd is now on reflux meds so waiting to see how she reacts to them. Def less sicky today, but harder to wind. Then my dad cancelled visiting this weekend as he is apparently having a breakdown. Sad we only see him a few times a year as he lives a way away, can't afford to travel much and has no space for us to stay.

Strangely enough I've had a few glasses of wine tonight. Should be ok as dd doesn't normally wake until 5 ish. Bound to be earlier now I've said that so I'm off to bed!

Wishing us all good nights.
