Dm, thats great news, am really pleased for you

Jack is also producing more teeth - this is his front top tooth and it is giving him real jip!

Kelly, i have enough trouble keeping an eye on one, you must have eyes in your bum!

Hope everyone is well x

Fingers crossed we've cracked the sleep thing - Had 30 minutes of standing by his cot the second night, 2 minutes the next night and he's slept through until 6ish ever since (3 nights in a row even with a streaming cold which hasn't happened since 4 months!). The Baby Whisperer is god!

Lucy - glad nursery is going well. It's always worse thinking about leaving them than actually doing it. Have you noticed that nursery smell that she comes out with!?

leggymamba · 30/01/2006 19:40

OK have to say it - since when is 23 old!

I can't even remember being 23

Darciesmum · 30/01/2006 20:10

LOL

23 is old!!!

thanx AM its going really well!

Are Jacks top teeth give him more jip coming through than the bottom ones? I think Darcies are.

Nearly finished decorating the nursery, its Disney Princess Pink!!!

Also nearly got darcie weaned of the bottle she's doing so well!

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well!

aprilmeadow · 30/01/2006 23:29

Nah 23 isnt old. I am 25 in april and still think i am young. Been winding dh up as he was 27 yesterday. Keep pointing out that the big 30 is just round the corner! Seems weird as he was 16 & i was 14 when we first met.

Top teeth def causing him more pain. He got the top fangs first, they were not too bad, but the top middle teeth are hurting!

Well done on the weaning off bottle. Jack wont have anything other than a teat. Goes mad if i try him on something else. I now have 6 different types of bottles in the cupboard!!

Darciesmum · 31/01/2006 08:22

LOL

I'm the same with DP he will be 29 in July, so 1yr closer to 30

i think darcie is getting about 2 or 4 teeth at the top she keeps rubbing her gums and face!

Verso · 01/02/2006 07:41

Ohh Leggy, I thought the nursery smell was DD's key worker wearing weird perfume!!! Glad it's normal. I hated it the first few times - my baby didn't smell like MY baby. Very disconcerting.

We've had some ups and downs with sleep too, which was a killer last week with working full time. DD had a bad bug and is mega-teething. I was scared she had forgotten how to settle herself but she sees to be improving again. Given that it took her six months to learn how to sleep more than four hours in a row, I didn't relish the prospect of being back at square one!

Darciesmum - 23 is NOT old! Either that, or I'm absolutely ancient!!!!

Lucy99 · 01/02/2006 11:16

Agree that 23 is definitely not old! I am coming up to 31 and still think I am young. Probably coz DH is 43 so I will always be 12 years younger than him!!
Havn't really noticed the nursery smell but think thats because dd caught a cold from nursery on day 2 and passed it me, so can't smell anything! she has been a bit more unsettled there this week, doesn't cry when I leave her but getting very distressed when they try and get her to sleep. sure she will get used to it soon.
Leggymamba, is the sleeping still going ok? Are you doing pick up/put down? Really need to do something about sleep here too but its so hard to be strong at 4am!! particularly when she is poorly and teething.
Verso, DM and AM, hope the teething eases off soon and we all get 8 hours undisturbed sleep tonight! x

Darciesmum · 01/02/2006 11:23

LOL

I must be the youngest on here for being 23 next week, so that must mean u r all ancient
(only Joking)

Darcie is going in her own room tonite so Lucy99 not sure i'll get that full 8hrs sleep

aprilmeadow · 01/02/2006 12:01

Lucy, Jack wouldnt settle at nursery for a nap, so i suggested putting him in a buggy and rocking him til he fell asleep. That seemed to do the trick. He has been there for 4mths now and just before xmas i told them to try him in the travel cots. Goes down everytime now They do say that the first 3mths are the hardest. They pick up every bug going, fiddle about with their feeding. Jack now eats everything that is offered to him and beams at the ladies when we walk into the room.

Doubt very much that i will be getting 8hrs. Jack is teething and has a cold (having to deal with my DH man flu as well) and dh is in Glasgow for the night. Just hoping i get some sleep as he was up 4 times last night.

DM - hope Darcie has a good night in her own room. Dont know how you have managed 10mths with her in your room. Jack was in his at 3wks!!! Couldnt sleep with his little grunting noises!

Darciesmum · 01/02/2006 12:33

AM i think Darcie will be fine, it'll be me that will be worrying!! LOL

aprilmeadow · 02/02/2006 08:01

DM how did it go?

OP posts:
Darciesmum · 02/02/2006 09:25

Morning

AM it went really well she wasn't sure at first, settled about 9:30pm didn't hear anything from her till 8 this morning so went really well.

I think she's like me will sleep anywhere LOL

She's getting abit cocky now tho, standing up everywhere letting go and falling on her bum when trying to take the first step!!

Howz Jack's cold today?

leggymamba · 02/02/2006 12:35

Yippee - definately cracked the sleeping thing. Even got the mornings are getting longer. This morning he woke up at 6 went in patted and sushed and got another hour.

Now got new issue of dd sneaking into bed at 2am for last 2 nights! One child is so easy! Lockets - sure 3 won't be any harder! Hope you're well.

aprilmeadow · 02/02/2006 19:18

that's brilliant DM glad it went so well for you.

LM, thats also great news! long may it continue.

Jack is still quite snoty, but seems quite cheery with it.

We are off to Center Parcs - Elveden Forest - tomorrow for the weekend with some friends and their 2 children. Should be fun if not massively cold!!

OP posts:
Lucy99 · 02/02/2006 22:01

LM that's fantastic! Am v envious though Worked out why Freya more unsettled at nursery this week - turns out she has a bad ear infection. Antibiotics now and she seems much brighter today. Felt bad for thinking she was satan in a nappy for waking up so much at night!
She took a couple of steps on her own today - looked very pleased with herself afterwards.
DM - glad Darcie happy in her own room - she sounds like such a good sleeper (am sleep obsessed atm!!)
AM have fun at Center Parcs - take a vest!

Darciesmum · 03/02/2006 08:33

LM-well done for finally cracking it

AM- have fun at Center Parcs, hopefully its not to cold for u!

Lucy99- Darcie has been sleeping through the nite since she was 3 weeks old, and has never got out of that routine!

I went to see Narnia at the cinema last nite was very good

Darciesmum · 06/02/2006 11:00

AM- how was your weekend at Center Parcs?

Darcie is getting cocky by pulling herself up on the furniture and walking along now, she can also stand by herself for a min or so!

Shes growing up so fast

aprilmeadow · 06/02/2006 16:27

Had a fab break away thank you. All the children were great. Oldest is 5yrs and the youngest is 8wks! Jack had a lovely time swimming and going on walks. Very chilly, and only figured the heating last night! Have come back with my first cold in over a year thanks to having to share a room with no air circulation with dh &ds!

Jack took his first steps whilst holding onto a wooden bricks trolley thing today. Is very pleased with himself.

well an update on alana

she has now got 4 more teeth this month so at last they are ariving. she loves her food and her 2 favs are garlic bread (hope she keeps this up when shes older to keep the boys away) and mini cheddars. she has been crawling for months now and can walk around the furniture and can stand for a few secs unaided. still sleeps all night and is such a wee character.

Darciesmum · 06/02/2006 19:32
