Darcie eats everything put in front of her, but doesn't eat everything in site. Her favourite is coal and its very messy, but the carbon is good for her, but not in large quantitys lol

Darciesmum · 22/03/2006 13:02

Also Chris told me he loves me to so i can't stop smiling at the moment :)

aprilmeadow · 22/03/2006 19:26

Welcome Louii and Rubysmum.

DM - Ia m soooo pleased that things are going well for you, esp after all the emotions you were going through this time last year. What kind of business does your dp do?

Havent started Jack on cows milk yet, although he does have it on his cereals. He is starting to get a bit more daring with taking his hands away and standing on his own, and we are still practising the walking.

DH is away in MAnchester for 2 nights so hope that Jack decides to sleep well:)

AM- heres Chris's website and this is his business www.grassrootscoaching.com

Its really detailed, bit to technical for me but looks really good.

I'm just so happy, this time last yr was excited about impending birth of baby, but still so depressed and can't believe how lucky i am! :)
And this time last yr was when Darcies father told me now i'm a single mum, i'll be single for the rest of my life. at the mo i've got a better life than him :)

fransmom · 22/03/2006 20:56

hi to louii and rubysmum hows u?
DM Shock i can't believe he said that! what a git. you got last laugh now girlie Grin well done and congrats X !
lockets, i think nappyless babies are meant to be the bane of our lives - my dd starts flapping her arms and pulling a face when she gets stroppy! when we were in mcare on fri last, i had to give her my mobile to play with - she's just learnt to give me things when i say give it to mommy. cheeky madam went to hand it back, then took it away again while shaking her head Grin

RubysmumX · 22/03/2006 21:36

hi fransmom, good thanks. A little tired though as it still seems like I'm dealing with a newborn as regards sleep. I'm still bf (which might have something to do with it, but maybe then might not), but never dreamt I would be. It's just turned out that way as the little one has no intention of giving it up at this moment.

We too are at the giving something to mummy stage and started feeding me imaginary food from her spoon the other day. Also find the whole nappy changing experience a right pain, have resorted to switching on TV to try and distract but that only seemed to work for a day or so. Is anyone using pull-ups to help try and overcome this prob?

Must read previous postings to catch up on where everyone is at.

fransmom · 22/03/2006 21:46

hi ruby. i couldn't face thought of bf in public so stopped at 2weeks. please don't condemn me, i wish i had carried on at least for while as friend told me you couldn't miss bf and bottle, then i found out it's exactly the same action Sad. now i'm babbling, sorry.

have thought about using pull ups, she seems to think i can change her while she's standing! let me know how you get on x

aprilmeadow · 22/03/2006 22:12

Hi Rubys/Frans/Darcies mums.

DM - cant get onto the website, but still so pleased for you :o

I love it that Jack likes to share his things with me and dh. He too does the pass me something then whip it away before i can get to it act. He does say 'ta' before giving it and when you pass him something - v. cute

Jack seems to think that it is easier for us to change his nappy whilst mid roll or when on all fours - gets very stroppy if you try to get him to lie down!

HI All

Darcie said another word yesterday, Beccy (her Aunties name).
1 week today till her birthday, aarrgghh!

I'm in Havant, Hampshire :)

fransmom · 23/03/2006 09:35

i'm in weston-super-mare Smile 10 minute drive from the beach Smile tho i've been living down here for nearly 2 1/2 years and have only been on the beach about 4times! it's cold in the winter, ok?!

Darciesmum · 23/03/2006 09:48

Franmom LOL, i know the feelin i live bout 10 mins from the beach even in good weather i don't go in still to cold! :)

fransmom · 23/03/2006 09:57

i don't drive at mo so it's hard for me to get anywhere unless by coach (boring and takes too long esp with a baby now), bus -expensive, or train - quicker but hard to get buggy on some trains unless they local 1s. must learn how to drive. it was my new year's resolution thingy, but look how they work out ......... Grin

Darciesmum · 23/03/2006 10:03

I'm so thankful i have my car! when i have petrol in it anyway lol

fransmom · 23/03/2006 10:07

lol its idea though. dp said last night he going to try and do extra ot so we can move into house. not sure if that's relevant though Grin he said he will help with driving lessons, though he still hasn't given me the single driving lesson he promised !

Darciesmum · 23/03/2006 10:45

lol, i haven't got the patience to teach someone to drive, and i'm so thankful Chris drives even tho you can hear his car coming from a mile down the road :)

aprilmeadow · 23/03/2006 10:54

Morning All,

I think i am only 45 mins from you DM. We used to go on family hols to Hayling Island every year when i was little.

I passed my test when i was 19 and dh didnt pass until he was22/23, so i was his personal taxi for 2 years! I think i would be lost without my car. I live in a small village with only a post office and 3 pubs, so need my car to get around.

Have booked Jack in for his first hair cut on Saturday - he will look so grown up :)

Hi everyone,
Rubysmum, i still breastfeeding as well, i know what you mean about the newborn feeling! Ah he not always so bad, just when teething etc.
Currently getting his two front teeth so he a bit miserable.
Hope all mums and babies are doing great.

Lou

Darciesmum · 23/03/2006 11:25

AM theres not much on Hayling Island anymore!

but lots to do elsewhere! :)

RubysmumX · 23/03/2006 20:37

Based in London, I'm afraid that Southend is probably the nearest we'd get to the sea! Re getting about, am thinking about getting a bike for myself (last one stolen) and a seat on the back for Ruby - thing is, am a little apprehensive of bringing baby on London roads so will probably stick to backstreets for now.
