Hi All, I thought I'd start a new 2006 thread for the October 2004 Mummies and Babies.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've been trying to get Summer clothes for Alfie and the sizing is driving me up the wall. All the t-shirts are too baggy, he looks like he's wearing a baggy minidress. On top of that each company seems to make a different 18-24 size.
I saw some lovely girls t-shirts in H&M, they were nice and slim fitting in oranges and yellows. I might just buy him those.
He has got a long slim body and little short legs, like a stoat. Grin

Not sure how long he will have the tube in for as his sucking/swallowing coordination is still rubbish. He may have a gastrostomy fitted but we are trialling the tube to see if it would be any benefit.

Im actually quite glad that he has been able to get his glasses off as this is the first time he has really brought his hands up to his face.

We have our pead app. at the end of june so will keep you posted.

I am having great problems uploading any pics as they are all too big, will get DH to try.

Seems weird now saying DH!!!!!

maisiemog · 27/05/2006 21:37

Oooo, you're going to get your DH to do it. Grin
Do you think Toby is becoming more aware of himself by putting his hands up.
I was just saying to DP that until Alfie gets back teeth I'm going to carry on using the hand blender on any pieces of meat he has, because he just can't chew them, it goes straight through. It seems to take a long time before they can eat properly - I mean like us.
Hopefully Toby will get better once he gets some more teeth (although I can't remember whether you said he had any teeth yet - sorry Blush)
Are you having trouble resizing the images, or is it the connection speed?

biglips · 29/05/2006 13:21

right ive sussed out that dd loves shoes, loves getting her teeth brushs (she meithers me to get her teeth cleaned)!! and bad obession with dollies !! Grin

cazzybabs · 29/05/2006 13:47

I think our daughters must be twins biglips...although Grace is obsessed with books - we have a lot of book and Grace demands all of them to be read throughout the day!

biglips · 29/05/2006 13:53

oh and books too as she be happy to read it to me in a babble language! Wink

cazzybabs · 29/05/2006 21:14

AHH seperated at birth!

I think dh is looking forward to goin back to work tomorrow...as it was rainning all day we were all going a bit stir crazy in our house and we had lots of tears with grace following Tim about crying lots!

Today we had our first friend over for dd1 without their parent being there as well and tomorrow we have a friend of Grace's coming over (with her mum) although I forgot to tell them we have cats so knowing my luck they will be really allergic to all things hairy! Have had a good hover and we have only a little rug downstairs! - so keep fingers crossed that it goes alright!

biglips · 29/05/2006 21:15
Grin

fingers cross for you and hope your Grace have fun

me and DD got conjunctivites atm so going to the docs tmrw

maisiemog · 29/05/2006 23:46

Biglips, I hope you two get your peepers sorted out. How do you know that Tweenie loves shoes, does she carry them about the house.
Is it just me, whenever I put things down they go missing, including shoes. Then they turn up in Alfie's toybox or somewhere. I keep opening things, like the oven or the cupboard or the washing machine and there is a shoe, or a duck perched neatly inside. Grin It's very odd!
They're like little magpies crossed with ferrets at this age I reckon.
Alfie is a book fanatic too, it's soo cute when he gets up in the morning and goes into the sitting room before me. When I go in he's often on the sofa with a book, babbling away and pointing (in a big pointy way) to the pictures. Then he starts annoying me again and all the cuteness goes away. Grin
It's rubbish the way it keeps raining. Pooo! I keep thinking I'll go for a walk in a minute and then it starts again. OR it's so windy Alfie blows away and I have to get him out of a tree. Shock
Or it's too sunny and I have to put stupid factor 50 on him and he rubs it into his eyes, and I spend the whole time worrying that I didn't put it on his ears or something.
I'm never happy really. Grin

biglips · 30/05/2006 17:04

yep she carry ALL her shoes around and trying to wear them all at once!! she goes loopy when i take her into a shoe shop! i have to drag her out from there Wink

biglips · 30/05/2006 19:22

can we do a competition of who got the biggest feet (the babies of course!) mine is 7F (had it measured last week) she used to be 5.5G in jan - big king kong feet!! Wink

cazzybabs · 30/05/2006 19:50

Oh no biglips not seperated at birth - Gracie has tiny winy feet...4H

maisiemog · 31/05/2006 00:06

I think Alfie is a 5G, although he hasn't been 'officially' measured for a while.
He is outgrowing his 18-24 month vests because he is like a duck, with a long back and tiny legs, or a stoat.
Are you finding the light nights are confusing the babies? Alfie woke up at ten to six on Sunday and he is really wired at night; he just wants to play until about 9ish, even though I still put him to bed at 7.
I think he is still having tooth problems - when does it end??? Shock
Oh yeah, how did the Fimbles go? Was that Kath that was going?
How's Moley getting on these days?

OP posts:
maisiemog · 31/05/2006 22:24

Waaaah! That's Alfie whenever he sees my dad Shock
I'm fed-up with him pulling my hair, he is obsessed and he chews it as his top favourite teething accessory.
Does anyone else have long hair?

Hello all

I haven't posted for donkeys..where does the time go?!

Not had chance to resd all the posts but a big Congratulations to cazzybabs and jbad on their weddings.

Hope everyone is doing ok. The chimpster is fine and dandy. We have just got back from 2 weeks in crete which was bliss if not a little hectic. Im still not getting any sleep and still b/f. I was hoping to have finished but chimpster has other ideas in fact i seem to have fed him even more on hols...i think because I was wearing a bikini top he thought milk was on tap :o
Is anyone else still b/f?

Well hopefully i will get back in the habit of posting more often.

KathH · 06/06/2006 20:56

Hope you had a good time in Crete, we've just come back from Devon, not quite as exotic I know! Had a great time except ds2 nearly broker hos collar bone and ended up sending a morning in casualty.

Finally got round to sorting mmr out and moley was done this morning!

KathH · 06/06/2006 20:57

oh, and I forgot how to type! Blush

cazzybabs · 06/06/2006 21:14

crete sounds fantastic. I am still BF - tried to give up after honeymoon, but felt so sad about it I started again ...only I am sure it will affect my fertaility and take me ages to have number 3...but dd2 still seems tiny and in need of milk!

maisiemog · 06/06/2006 22:52

Hiya Riebee I wondered where you had got to. How lovely Crete! Two weeks is my kind of holiday, I've had it with these 7 night jobs, you' re just getting into it and you have to come home.
What was the flight like with Chimps?
I'm still bfing as well, and I can imagine chimpy thinking Oooh good! when he saw you lying down with a bikini on. He would have thought you were just the right height for a quick snack.
I'm impressed you were in a bikini, I just couldn't face one right now. What kind of 'kini was it?
Where were you in Crete?

cazzybabs · 06/06/2006 23:15

KATH - how was the bone nearly broken?

Devom sounds bliss right now! Was trying to book a cottage for a week over the summer holidays - can find sweet FA!!! - very annoyed. Was rea,lly looking forward to sandy iceceams and sand castles!

Riebee · 09/06/2006 19:20

Kath...ouch what happened there then?

Maisiemog..when I say bikini I mean more of a tankini a halterneck jobbie that gave the ole breast feeding boobies a pretty damn fine cleavage...no wonder the chimpster was in heaven.
We stayed in a lovely apartment cpmplex in a place called koutoulafari (try saying that when you've had a few raki's)but we actually went over there to see my mum & dad who have been living in crete for the last 3years. Unfortunately that side of things didn't go very well at all. It would seem that they have forgotten what it's like to be surrounded by grandchildren (my sister was there with her two aswell) and at times we felt like we were a bit of an inconvenience. Very upsetting at the time but hey ho there loss i guess :(. I think the final straw for me was when we found out my mum & dad went out for a meal the same night as us in the next village down but didn't think to invite us. They hadn't seen us for 6 months! ooops sorry ranting on a bit there Blush
Apart from that weather & place was fantastic. as for the flight...i think maybe a slightly shorter one next time.Chimpy did pretty well though & did sleep for a fair portion of the time but it was quite hard work having him on your knee & trying to get him to understand why he had to wear the seat belt some times and yet others times he could roam & annoy other passengers :o

KathH · 10/06/2006 09:00

to cut a very long story short he was giving dd2 a piggy back (she's 9) and he fell down a slope with her landing on top of him!

biglips · 10/06/2006 09:04
