Hi All, I thought I'd start a new 2006 thread for the October 2004 Mummies and Babies.

moley had his check up at the hospital today - i knew he was fine but its nice to be told that he's ok. Have to go back in August just to make sure his development hasnt been affected. They thought it was good that he'd had a high temp and not had another fit - they were a bit bothered about how long his fit lasted. For the record he weights 11.2 kg & is 81 cm long.

Bought him a little gardening set today so he's been busy trowelling the carpet!

Masiemog - think your plan sounds like a good idea, thats what we did when we went to a wedding when ds1 was about 9 months old.

maisiemog · 31/03/2006 23:55

That's great news, about the no further fitting. He sounds sooo cute 'trowelling' bless. Moley is fab!
We will be castigated if we don't appear with Alf for a bit.
It's funny because people don't realise (or seem to have forgotten, in the case of the grandparents) what a hassle it is to take a small child to a formal do, even a restaurant. It's like forget starters, forget pudding, just order a pizza and eat fast. The penny has dropped with one set of grandparents, and the last meal we went for was lunch at a huge italian restuarant well-known for it's baby-friendliness.

Moley doesn't seem to have suffered from his ordeal, when we were at the hospital last week DS2 was only 9.9kg. Hopefully get some results soon, he still has bruises from the blood testsSad

KathH · 01/04/2006 21:41

what were they testing him for? Was it for his various intolerances? Moley has to for some tests as they think he might have at least a milk allergy.

maisiemog · 01/04/2006 22:20

Poor old little geog, is he still demanding out in the mornings?
When will you hear about the results?
Kath, did you think Moley had a milk intolerance?
Alf is having reactions to something, he keeps getting rashes on his face and back. I found out tonight that he reacts to boot sensitive baby oil gel, put it on and boom, his back was covered in little red bumps.
It's so hard to monitor his diet now, it's so random and varied. It could just be that he's touching his face with something he doesn't get on with.
Is this just part of babyhood, the whole over-reacting to things, because the immune system is sorting itself out?. I read on another thread that a child's immune system takes 7 years to develop fully.
Biglips how's the job hunt going??

the milk allergy thing goes back to when he had reflux quite badly.

Where is biglips?

maisiemog · 02/04/2006 23:46

We've been having great fun the past few nights. Alf has found out how to climb out of bed and keeps getting up and running out of the bedroom.
Tonight he was sooo tired, but he still clambered down. This went on from 7:30 until after 10. I ended up sitting on the floor next to the bed, throwing Alfie back on to the bed saying 'lie-down!'
He finally gave in and lay there and then started to snore.
What a palavar! I hope this is a phase.
Oh he still talks a load of rubbish, main words are 'wossat' whilst pointing at stuff, then repeated 5 times whilst pointing at the same thing. It doesn't matter if you tell him what it is, he just keeps saying 'wossat?
Also 'isit' which I think means what is it?
WHo knows what he's on about?
He's been stacking the old ELC bricks up compulsively, and now stacks 7 wooden blocks, which is amazing (I think) for a little chap who can only say 'wossat, isit'.
He loves playing football and can kick a ball (to me, he thinks), which I have to then chase, as it has actually gone in the opposite direction to me.
And he's started to throw things quite far, which is a bit worrying, since I don't enjoy being hit by flying potties and the like. Shock
Still haven't had the MMR, I think they gave up and stopped calling, so I suppose I had better call them.
Oh and tonight he did a peepee on the potty and then went off and did a poop on the rug in the hall, which dp then stood in.

Hello, havent been around for what seems like ages. Had so much going on. DS been ever so smiley, beaming from ear to ear most of the time. Have been doing lots of organising for the wedding too. Its all finally coming together.

Settling into our house well too.

Ds spent another night in hospital after vomiiting for 3 days, he is better now though.

Doing well at nursery and has some new splints for his legs so when he is doing his standing physio he cant bend his legs. He is getting better at weight bearing with them.

Anyway Im off to bed now, been on earlies this week and im in charge cos my manager is away.

geogteach · 06/04/2006 19:38

Hi all
DS2 has now been prescribed antibiotics in case he has a bowel infection, still no results from the allergy tests. At this rate he'll be 21 before he has mmr.
He still wants to get up and the crack of dawn but first likes to fling everything out of his cot so i've started dumping stuff in there just so it takes longerGrin
He is much nearer to walking and spends most of his time careering round the house hanging on to a trolly with one hand but resolutely will not let go!

KathH · 06/04/2006 20:30
