Hi All, I thought I'd start a new 2006 thread for the October 2004 Mummies and Babies.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
biglips · 09/03/2006 11:48

oh and baba had her FIRST cream cake yesterday it was all "HHMMM" "HHMMM" (yum yum) Grin (she had a tiny bit of fingers cream cake)

geogteach · 09/03/2006 19:06

Isla, think lunch at your nursey sounds about right, mine certainly got lunch at 11.45. Tea for them is 4pm though (which is still pretty early, think its because they start going home from about then). My kids always had more to eat when they got home and often brekkie before they went - so 5 meals a day on nursery days Grin

Luggs · 10/03/2006 16:01

Geog teach, what did the doctor say about vomiting as DS1 has been vomiting every other day for about a week also and not sure if I should stop food for a day and what is causing it

geogteach · 10/03/2006 16:22

Said if he didn't stop to go back in a week - he hasn't been sick since Tues. I was worried it might be allergies but ill wait and see

KathH · 10/03/2006 21:21

Masiemog both dh & I are really dark moley & james are both bleach blonde as was dd1, must be a throw back to a blonde gene somewhere - I hope! Moley has some more teegleys (another word I said I would never use!) coming thru so is being a complete and utter misery. Cant believe he's nearly 1 1/2. I dont know whether its cos he's the youngest but he seems so much younger than the others did at that age even tho he's walked and everything else earlier.

Biglips, be careful! When dd1 was 3 we decided to try for another and I was up the duff a week later, thought it would take months!

Geogteach - hope he's feeling better soon.

Cazzybabs how's things? Thought maybe we could have a virtual hen night when we all got bladdered on our pcs? WHat do you think?

Everyone else - hope everythings ok.

KathH · 10/03/2006 21:22

Meant to say teggleys. My Stella's going down rather well and I've obviously lost the plot Grin

maisiemog · 10/03/2006 22:52

Hear hear to the online hen night. Grin
I've been trying to work out how many boys there are in the group now and how many girls.
Please help me count

So far I have come up with Boys: Chimpy, Moley, Toby, Alfie, BabyGeog, Rickman's breakdancing boy, Huppa's DS, Lugg's DS
Girls: Isla, Baba, Cazzy's Grace and Hotmama's Grace, FlorenceUK's DD,StaceyM's DD, Bellie's DD

Who else?

Ps I was looking at the old threads Biglips and there was a lady posting called MOmmie, anyway you asked her if she was new or had changed her name, as you didn't remember her and.......she never posted again. You are a scary woman Biglips. WinkGrin

I'm also getting incredibly broody - quite wierd for me as before dd decidd to come along i was never really into babaies at all. if she hadnt decided to come along then i still dont think we'd have thought about trying for a first!!

dp has set me a target! this is going to sound terrible but it isnt!! i really want to lose weight and so far my best effort have failed (meaning i cant stick at it!). so dp has said that if i can lose a couple of stone we can try for another Smile. his intention are good as i know if i had another one the weight i am, i'd just blow up even more after a second. will also make me motivated to lose it again. altho saying that, i actually lost 1 stone between getting pg and having dd last time (had terrible morning sickness and hardly ate some days).

we did say that a 3 year gap would be nice - so that means i have until about this time next year to shed some blubber!

maisiemog · 11/03/2006 10:29

I know what you mean. I would like another baby, we have already talked about it and think within the next year or so would be good.
I feel the same though, that I would like to be in better shape before having another one, kind of from the point of view of not being knackered physically. I am probably a bit heavy, but not that much, it's more that I feel that my tummy and back aren't in good shape to be abused again.
I got out my old yoga video yesterday and found it really difficult, but if I can do that for a month or so I would feel in a better position to get pregnant (like it's that easy).
Plus I would like to get my diet sorted out, it's not bad, but it could be better, start taking folic acid etc...
I wonder if there are any threads about preparing to conceive, I'll go and have a look....

biglips · 11/03/2006 11:48

thinking of changing her name soon from baba as she nearly a toddler soon (my baby days are gone Sad)

same to me as ive never been a broody one (im now 31.. 32 in nov) and now if money wasnt a issue ill be a babies making machine by now!! Grin

biglips · 11/03/2006 11:50

plus i like to have a 3 yrs gap too (same as me and my bro as hes 3 yrs old than me)

i had a horrible dream last nite that i didnt know i was pg and i carrying twins but one of the twins died Sad

IslaAndMomma · 11/03/2006 19:06

aww biglips Sad. i'm having loads of dreams lately too! money is a worry for us too and we're still renting. would like to buy before we have another and somewhere bigger would be nice - we're in a 2 bed at the moment (which would be ok for a while - would just be nice to have our own place and feel settled).

i have a 3yr gap between me and my big bro too. we always got on well - altho i think that was more to do with our personalities than the age gap. dp would like a boy next time but i dont really mind either way. i was convinced when carrying isla that she was a boy (no idea why).

IslaAndMomma · 11/03/2006 19:08

i always refer to isla as baba or babs ... think i always will! cant think of any toddler type names?

biglips · 12/03/2006 09:52

so im gald its not just me then!!! we are all broody machine lately Grin

Hi all,
the potty thing is going ok with at least a peepee on the potty every day and I think he's beginning to get used to it. However, last night I had to get Alf up at 5:40 because his nappy leaked and whilst I was getting him another, he pooped on the rug. So I grabbed a toilet roll to clean up and then a cloth and some carpet shampoo. When I had finished Alf grabbed the toilet roll and started to pretend to clean the carpet. He thought this was very funny and kept beaming at me whilst running up and down the hall wiping the carpet with toilet paper.
I'm thinking, hmmm that could come in handy. Grin
Oh and he's now worked out how to do skip forward and backwards and play on the DVD. I walked into the sitting room tonight and he had put on his Einstein baby VanGogh and it was the bit where all the parents are going 'It's soo great and my baby loves it blahblah...'. So he skipped forward and then got to the bit where you have to choose theatre or whatever the other things are that I never put on, so he pressed play to select theatre. I was stunned, how did he learn that??
I'm so amazed at how much they pick up from watching you.
Hope you are all well.

I went onto Hotmama's post natal club to see if she was there - I was hoping she was doing OK with the bfing. Anyway it sounds as if she is getting on fine with it and she sounds compos mentis as well.
Hi Hotmama if you're looking. Smile

I haven't forgotten about you girls! Wink

Dd2 is now nearly 5 weeks and it is going O.K. Dd1 was at f/t nursery for the 4 weeks as I has had a section so couldn't pick her up etc. Last week was the first week when I had to look after them both by my own - be it only for 2 days but was O.K. Smile

BF going O.K. had a La Leche contact around for a couple of times to help with positioning etc. Can now report is going well and dd2 is being exclusively bf - I am so proud of myself - aiming to get to 26 weeks - hurrah! Grin

Got an issue re bf and thrush and have a thread on this!

Must rush as dd2 is wimpering - will pop back and catch up etc.

Hope you are all well. Smile

maisiemog · 15/03/2006 13:02

Well done you for getting the bf'ing sorted this time. SmileGetting a LL Lady round is more than I ever managed, very organised.
I'm still bf'ing at 16 months, just playing it by ear, and of course the longer I bf the lower my chances of breast cancer and ovarian cancer, so not complaining.SmilePlus he's still my baby.
I think thrush is super-common amongst breastfeeding babies, so it's easily sorted and it's great you identified it so quickly. Hope it clears up soon, is it bothering Evie?
What's the most popular girl's and boy's name on your other group?

OP posts:
biglips · 15/03/2006 13:16

maisie - im just in the middle of re-doing my cv atm... havent been outside for ages as we all full of cold so im applying online atm.. need to go out and put my names on at the work agencies in town...i would rather sit in in a warm house and play hide and seek with baba Smile

well done to hotmama..... keep it going! Smile how is your DD1 handling it all?

biglips · 15/03/2006 21:11

my baba had got a new name - Tweenie - as she is between a baba and a toddler (my mate just helped me deciding on the name)
