Hi All, I thought I'd start a new 2006 thread for the October 2004 Mummies and Babies.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hotmama I was 12 days late and tried everything (from running to vindaloo!) but unfortunately nothing worked. I was induced by a pessary - the first one didn't work but the second one brought on labour within the hour and the entire birth lasted 1.5 hours from start of contractions to holding DS1. I was very worried beforehand as everyone said indudcing was a terrible experience (people are so tactful !) but personally found it ok as at least the labour was quick (no time for any drugs as planned mind you !)I hope you go into labour but don't worry about inducing as it really wasn't at all bad in my experience .

geogteach · 07/02/2006 13:37

Hotmama all 3 of my babies have come the day before the induction was booked so it could be tomorrow, here's hoping.
Sorry about all those sick toddlers, baby geog has had a runny nappy for 2 weeks (MMR cancelled AGAIN) but is perfectly fit. He still isn't walking but sleeps 12 hours a night and 2 in the day so i'm not complaining, his brother and sister are somewhat sick of the turning the telly off trick though!

KathH · 07/02/2006 21:12

We're home - yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

maisiemog · 07/02/2006 21:33

Yay Kath! How's Moley? How are you all? Knackered?!

OP posts:
biglips · 07/02/2006 21:35

kathh - ive been thinking of you XXXX how is moley?

KathH · 07/02/2006 21:44

he's fine thanks. They said they'll never know what strain of meningitis it was because he had the antibiotics so quickly - thank god for my wonderful childminder! - feel a bit of a wreck at the moment altho nurses tell me this is natural! The most scary thing is how quickly it happened and if it hadnt been for my childminder and a really good final year student who spotted some purple spots (not like you see in the adverts, these were so tiny you could hardly see them). Altho moley had been a bit niggly for a couple of weeks, on the actual morning he'd been fine. We've been given some kind of diazipan in case he ever has a fit again, they're a bit worried that he may be prone to febrile convulsions now and long ones at that. But he's ok. Feel terrible now about moaning about him, bought him a big pressie today for being such a brave boy.

biglips · 07/02/2006 21:47

good mummy and you are sssooo brave (im in shock cos hes exact the same age as my DD)... make sure you give him loads of kisses xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and a thank you to your childminder & final year student too - well done!!

maisiemog · 07/02/2006 22:47

He is a brave, clever super boy. Big hugs to both of you. I bet he was glad when his Mummy came to take him home.

huppa · 08/02/2006 10:09

Great news , I bet you´re so relieved to have him back home.

Well there´s been no news from hotmama since yesterday morning so maybe the labour vibes have finally worked!

biglips · 08/02/2006 10:10

ill go and have a look about hot mama

biglips · 08/02/2006 10:12

hotmama had not been on since 5pm yesterday!! so hhmmmmmmmm she could be giving birth now!!!

hotmama · 08/02/2006 11:34

Sorry - I'm still here - and suitably f@*ked off!

Am now 10 days overdue and resigned to being induced tomorrow. Although, if my "Bishops Score' is low I am going to be asked to be monitored and wait to be induced until induction is deemed more favourable - as I don't want it to become pearshaped and not progress so I have a c-section.

Hopefully, will cheer up later especially if labour vibes kick in.

IslaAndMomma · 08/02/2006 12:55

good luck hotmama for tomorrow!

happy you're all home and well, Kathy xox

huppa, dd is a climber too. we've had a few tears as she's carried the stool across the room and fallen over/off or on it! she has a rocking horse which she moves over in front of stair gate - looks like she's trying to get over it.

she also loves jumping on the sofa/bed/me!!

maisiemog · 08/02/2006 14:30

Hotmama, I hope it all goes well tomorrow (or sooner) I forgot to add that link yesterday, I know it's late in the day, but there might be something here
Alfie has just gone for his nap, I'm sooo tired zzzzzzzzzzz!

Riebee · 09/02/2006 08:59

hotmama i know you probably won't see this but wishing you well today. Hope everything goes smoothly.

Riebee · 09/02/2006 09:01

Kath.. I'm so pleased to here your home. phew what an horrendous time. Hugs to moley

hotmama · 09/02/2006 14:27

Still here - but things are happening naturally.

I am to ring the hosp between 2.30 and 3.00 so will report if I am still to go in for my induction.

Lost my mucus plug early am, had a bath think my waters went but not sure - bump went weird though - don't think I have had any dribbling since. Then had a huge bloody show and have been browny dischargy since - sorry if TMI.

Feel very crampy and backachey but no contractions as such - bump is noticably lower.

Think the labour vibes may be working.

maisiemog · 09/02/2006 15:29

Yay Hotmama. That sounds like your little girl is on her way. How exciting!! How are you feeling??
Make sure you get all the back rubs!

OP posts:
maisiemog · 09/02/2006 17:47

Well Hotmama has obviously not got out from her induction. She could be sitting in bed cuddling her little girl right now.

maisiemog · 09/02/2006 19:10

Haha LOL at baba's muddy face.
Alfie's granny came up to see him on Tuesday and she kept chasing him up the hall, then he was chasing her back down the hall. He was extremely excited.
Then he drove her car, no he didn't really, but he would love to.
