Hello everyone!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MizK · 11/10/2011 17:13

Wow, hark at you lot with your crafty Christmas plans, I am suitably impressed (and about to google the nigella mini puds)
delia I think you should invite your friends officially, then you won't be panicking about your swish canapes going to waste....
borg don't worry I am here swishes cape
jane that's a v good cause, think they will really appreciate it. Is it sad to pack it away? That's probably a stupid question I know, just hope you are feeling okay.
choco I loooove the NYC housewives, particularly Bethenny, she's fab.
Agree with bledkr, have been reliant on petits filous for some time. sometimes I think poor cass subsists on those, melon slices and mini rice cakes alone!
BTW I got my phone back!! Some eejit had thrown it in the street about 5 mins away from our house and a v sweet teenage girl had picked it up, but had been too shy to ring so her dad rang my mum when he got in from work. So pleased, and DP is backing up my pics later!

chocoBOO · 11/10/2011 17:53

mizk So glad you got your phone back. You should send the girl chocolate! And Bethenny is so my favourite. Did you watch Real Housewives of OC too? I saw every episode twice at start of my mat leave Blush

Jane What a good idea to donate your Moses basket. It will be really useful to them there and a lovely tribute to Zoe.

Have prepped all of dinner now. Only thing I haven't made myself is garlic bread so I'm feeling very smug!

Bledkr · 11/10/2011 18:06

Ah thats great news miz did you give her a little reward of some white lightening (thinking of teenage girls) haha.

Im only doing the puds cos no cooking required.

jane thats anice idea, what happens to them after?I may donate mine too.Zoe is more than a few posessions.shes in your heart and mind-and ours too.

I use sign language.I shake my fist when she's whinging, grimace when she cries and stamp my feet if she wakes in the night. All behind her back of course.
dilly has been an angel today, making me look like a liar to dh who ive been telling she is whingey, grr.
Fishcakes were a tad sloppy i had to add some bread crumbs and then dry them out in the oven.

wiggs your name messed up your spread sheets, precisely what do you have on them? Grin

WeAreBorg · 11/10/2011 18:22

reastie i think the ITV one is british sign language. Thanks jane makaton was the word I couldn't think of. That's such a lovely thing to do Jane.

severus yay for phone. Although I'm disappointed that you of all people are using a mere muggle implement. What a lovely girl.

Grin at ledkr signing, you could make some money and run classes

better put N to bed, see you later

janedoe25 · 11/10/2011 18:56

ledkr Grin at your sign language! They just re-use the moses baskets for any babies who may need them.

mizk I am a little sad about giving it away but the thoughts of helping some else in the same position as we were totally outweighs the sadness, every little helps! yay for getting your phone back, so glad for you.

I just had a very lazy dinner of an omlette (so gavin and stacey). No point in cooking a meal just for me. Having an early night here, loaded with the cold and my throats is burning Sad.

ILovePonyo · 11/10/2011 19:27

Grin to your sign language ledkr, ahh nice that D has been sweet today, obviously all the whinging was in your head Hmm

MizK yay for getting your phone back, shows there are some decent people about :)

reastie A loves petit filous and also manages one a day, though at the moment I have these 'Plum' ones that were on offer in Asda, they don't taste as nice so obv less sugar Grin She doesn't like them as much of course.

Borg my dp is welsh too! And half black, quarter indian quarter white. That means A's ethnicity technically goes into eighths Shock Confused How dare the telly not entertain N, A is the same I thought kids were meant to like tv Wink

jane that is a lovely thing to do with the moses basket, I might see if I can give mine to hospital too.

I was v brave today and got the bus into town for the first time, I didn't have the right money and the grumpy old bus driver didn't lower the bus for me to get off so the buggy got stuck, needless to say I got the sweats and also the tram home haha.

Had a nice cuppa and cake with my friend, she asked if I was having anymore and I said no probably not, she was amazed when I said how much hard work I found it and said it seemed like I was taking it all in my stride Shock Just goes to show appearances can be deceiving.

My pizza is ready so back later...

wigglesrock · 11/10/2011 20:08

MizK that's great news about the phone.

Ponyo I used the bus all the time with S [shudder], am still having flashbacks to the horrible stuck in traffic with screaming baby who has just done the biggest poo ever sweats.

jane I loved learning Makaton with Mr Tumble, I still remember all the pets, it used to be the girls favourite, Sofia has now moved onto Tracey Beaker and Sarah Jane Adventures. Mr Tumble is for babies [throws eyes up to heaven in a very Sofia way]. Donating the moses basket is a lovely thing to do, you know it will mean the world to someone at the most horrible point in their life. I feel sore of throat too and my knees are very achey Hmm

chocoBoo have a lovely evening Grin

byronicheroine · 11/10/2011 20:10

Evening all, no talk of another one in this household - we are talking again but nowhere near babymaking Grin I think I was in the running for next preggers too, but that ain't happening any time soon. We do want more, but I feel bad for K too. Situation to be reevaluated next year. My friend is 7 months pregnant with her second and her son is nearly 3. Seems like a good age gap to me but she says she wishes they were closer..... Can't believe we're even talking about this!

misk great news about the phone, I too get too attached! Gives you faith in people again, tho, doesn't it? Give the lovely girl a packet of condoms and a bottle of 20/20 (mispent youth here!)

jane lovely idea. I see that it would be sad, too, but think of how much good you and Z will be doing. Well done

Borg i've been a fan of alan 'i'll cut his heart out with a spoon' rickman since his sherriff of nottingham days. Yum.

ponyo what a mix! Makes k's Greek-English seem positively pedestrian. Also I have given up with buses, far too much stress IMO, yy to the bus sweats. Not worth it! On top of that, I shouldn't complain about them as there are transport strikes all this week, train, metro, bus and tram, and that in turn makes traffic a nightmare. It's really boring, and doesn't seem to be making any difference.

The garbage collectors are on strike too, there's piles in the streets. It's minging and they've just announced they will be on strike until NEXT Wednesday. I don't know how well I'm going to deal with this.

Hmm, oh well, new season of Dexter and then bed for me

Emski76 · 11/10/2011 20:13

Those of you who only want one child, can't say I blame you. It is bloody hard work going back to the beginning with a baby and having to hold it together for an older child but I wouldn't be without Noah, and watching his relationship with Ben grow is amazing. Dh and I often talk about how we look forward to watching then grow up together.

Well done to Ponyo getting the bus today, I def wouldn't be brave enough!

Jane, I wonder if I could donate our Moses basket too, will contact the maternity hospital. What a brave and amazing thing for you to do.

MizK, wow to the girl who found your phone, there are decent teenagers out there after all!

Ben used to have at least two petit filous a day up until a year ago. I've been making my own yogurt for Noah with Greek yogurt and fruit to save some money. It's really delicious and can end up being one spoonful for me and one for Noah!

Ben learned Makaton at nursery when he was a baby, it was adorable when he'd sign thank you. I think Makaton is designed for children to use. I like Ledkrs version better though.

Dh is away at the moment, he's back tomorrow evening. I miss him loads but it is nice not having to cook a meal every evening. I've just had Ainsley Harriot risotto, yum. Stick it in the microwave for ten minutes, stir halfway thru and ping, tea is ready.

Am chilling and watching tv then beddy byes.....night all

janedoe25 · 11/10/2011 20:34

byron rubbish about the strikes!

wiggs achey knees? what have you been doing? Wink I always Grin at Justins makaton sign for horse riding! Oh yes, the boys I mind love a bit of TSOTB in the morning,

ILovePonyo · 11/10/2011 20:46

wiggles on the bus today a nice lady was smiling and waving at A, A was just staring at her and didn't give her even a hint of a smile. Was funny at first but then a bit embarrassing Grin At least she didn't poo

Hi byronic, there would be no hope of me getting a bus in Greece, the pavements sounds treacherous enough! Yuk to the piles of rubbish in street :( I may have already said this but my friends sil has a six month old and is 3 months pregnant Shock unplanned too, yikes.

emski aww to watching the boys grow up together, v sweet. I do a spoon of petit filous for A, a spoon for me yum yum :) No wonder she's so small Grin

jane I want to know what the sign for horse riding is now... Is it rude?! Wink Grin

choco your dinner sounds fab hope you are now enjoying it.

ReastieHorrorShow · 11/10/2011 21:08

Hey,

ems I do fruit yog like you too, although I also buy the plum ones. I used to love petit filous till I was made to eat had too many as I had to save up for a free watch and eat loads of the stuff

Colds you say you all have? [looks shifty] maybe it's another cyber bug spread from alice me again. DH and I feeling rubbish today - all achey and coldy. Still keep feeling sorry for alice as we were doing all the cc when she felt this bad :(

jane it took me 2 reads to get your knees comment Blush . That sounds lovely donating the moses basket. If I'm honest I had no idea they were used for this purpose. You are such an incredible lady.

ponyo alice has been doing that to everyone - staring at them intently and looking slightly evil. She's been doing it for the past week since she got ill (which I'm trying to blame it on). All these well meaning people talking to her and trying to get a smile and she just gawps and gurns.

choc enjoy the dinner

ledkr brownie points for the fish cakes - now if you were my student I'd make you write a detailed problem solving evaluation reflecting on the issues you had during making Grin

I'll sign up to a signing class ledkr style - sounds fun. At what age do you teach LOs to open an pour a glass of Wine for you? Grin

Am missing fat fighters again tomorrow Blush - Mum can't look after alice due to granny issues. Might take Alice to feed the ducks at a local park but I think she might just try and eat all the bread Hmm

ReastieHorrorShow · 11/10/2011 21:09

oh yeah, and has anyone else been reading the thread on beyonces imaginary folding baby bump Shock

deadka · 11/10/2011 21:10

Hi everyone

severus great about your phone, yay!

wiggles early night and Night Nurse for you young lady Grin

ems I love my girls relationships, S thinks Imy is the bees knees, when she has the screaming ab dabs S is still laughing and smiling cos she can see (and hear) her adored big sis.

jane we love Saint Tumble in this house too, Imy has a small plastic model of him, she sleeps with it sometimes when I'm not sleeping with it myself Grin

S has Yeo Valley yoghurt, she gets through a big pot in about 3 days, she'd just laugh at those titchy pots of from frais! Grin

Good and bad news here today- good news is I lost 1.5lbs so that's 1/2 stone so far!! Wahey! Have really enjoyed it too.

Bad news is I think my mum's cancer is creeping back, she's had pain in her ribs again and trouble breathing which may signify a return of it in her lungs. She's also been sick a lot recently, trying hard not to think about that too much :( She only finished the last lot of chemo a few months ago (June I think). She had a scan today, results next week. If it's back she'll have another round of chemo but then that's it, they can't do any more apart from trial treatments which I don't think she'll go for.

OP posts:
deadka · 11/10/2011 21:12

reastie I have too, v odd! I think she's pg though.

BTW S smiles at everyone, even if they're not looking at her, if she sees people talking and laughing together she joins in, she is THE happiest baby father must be the milkman

OP posts:
Emski76 · 11/10/2011 21:13

Deb, I hope it's good news for your mum. Keep us updated xx

ReastieHorrorShow · 11/10/2011 21:17

deb Sad re: you're mum. I hope things are OK but it must be such an ongoing worry for you/your family . Well, with Alices current miserable lack of smiling is definitely down to dh Grin

wigglesrock · 11/10/2011 21:24

deadka really feel for you and your Mum, have been in exactly the same position with my nana. Hope scan brings better news, but sending you all my love and will say a wee prayer xx

Well done on the continuing weightloss Thanks for doing so well, there was a thread last year on Justin, a poster was wondering if he was gay, another poster came on and gave intimate details to reassure posters that he wasn't Shock it got pulled the next day (the thread that is - boom boom)

jane Grin, must have been all that cleaning I've been doing!

tadjennyp · 11/10/2011 21:36

I hope your Mum's scan is good news, debka.

Thinking of you. Have taken most of the day so far to read everyone's posts and need to take the kids to the park shortly so will just say hi! Glad you got your phone back MizK. Envy of CBeebies! Fromage frais doesn't exist here but you can get organic baby yoghurts. Hope bedtime has gone well and all the babies are still asleep!

WeAreBorg · 11/10/2011 22:55

debka oh really hope your mum's symptoms are something else, maybe chest infection or something. Thinking of you lots. Really hope the scan is okay, she sounds like such a brave lovely lady from your stories of her.

ponyo Nate never smiles at anyone now except me and DH, he takes about 10mins or so to warm to people now. He used to smile at anyone and everyone.

N crying, better go.....

janedoe25 · 12/10/2011 07:29

deb Sorry to hear your mum is not feeling good, I am praying that she is ok. As borg says, she does sound like such a brave lady.

wiggles what were you cleaning? Shock about Justin and Grin at your pun!

Bledkr · 12/10/2011 09:21

deb obviously i have much sympathy for your Mum.If it helps i had loads of odd symptoms after chemo/radio some of them were odd pains and i def had rib pain and still do.You are also very prone to infection after chemo and plueresy causes rib pain too.I do hope she is ok.
Im having ishoooos myself at the mo,raised blood levels and still have to have my repeat smear.I am thinking of having the whole lot removed tbh,no periods, smears, menopause or worry, what do you think ladies?I have a high risk for ovarian cancer btw,im not just being extreme Grin
My bro and his gf stayed but they are so used to living on traveller sites that they dont understand how to be quiet.Poor Dilly couldnt settle for ages cos of the noise,so went to bed at 10 and then woke once in the night and then early, proving my point that sleep begats sleep.Dh and i were planning our early night as we were getting up Grin

When you speak of Justin,i hope you are not referring to the touser snake as he is my secret crush.

ReastieHorrorShow · 12/10/2011 09:39

Oh ledkr I believe in my v limited experience Justin Trouser snake and Justin wiggles mentioned are two VERY different Justins Grin

Hope everyone OK today. Still feeling rough here but at least Alice seems bit better in herself, so fingers crossed I'll be better soon.

ledkr that's worrying re: your symptoms. Tbh if I were you I'd be tempted to have it all whipped out too, the things that would make me Confused would be the actual surgery (as I'm not good with hospitals) and how long you have to rest afterwards. Is it still 6 weeks you can't do anything? I'm not sure how that would work for you with looking after Ella and Dilly? The thought of no more periods and not having to put up with the menopause definitely sounds appealing if you know you don't want more children (are you sure you don't want another one btw? A couple more and you've got a football team Grin )

How is needto ?

All this stuck at home defo not good for bank balance - just bought some outfits from boden in the hope one will work for a christening ensemble. Boden is mighty pricey though so they had better look good on (the logic being I need everything possible to help me look half decent)

Argh, alice crying, gtg

deadka · 12/10/2011 09:58

Thanks everyone for sympathy re my mum. I really hope you're right led and it's a chest infection or something. Dr said though that she'd probably be needing chemo again 6 mo after the last lot. :(

ledkr I'd say a tentative yes to having the whole lot out, although then there's the whole HRT yes or no issue. My mum had a hysterectomy years ago, then HRT, which we think significantly contributed to the breast cancer diagnosis, as it's oestrogen fed cancer. She has said however that it was either HRT and her dying of cancer 20 years later, or NO HRT and her killing us all there and then Grin. Although haven't you had a double mastectomy?

reastie I could have done with your Always Lined Bed last night, I'm sure it wasn't this bad before I had S Confused

Watching the non- Trouser Snale Justin ATM, just done some finger painting, had to have a sit down to recover Grin. DH is away today, it's lovely and peaceful here :)

OP posts:
ReastieHorrorShow · 12/10/2011 10:06

dead can i ask a thicko q -i always thought if you had a hysterectomy you didn't need such things as hrt as your body doesn't 'do' hormones anymore. have i just made myself look really thick again ?
