OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
byronicheroine · 25/10/2011 18:43

Hi all, so jealous of your meeting, hope it rains you have a fantastic time. It would be lovely for us all to hang out, talking MNese and nicknames :)

reastie well done on the docs, and glad she wasn't too much of a dragon. I get the 'oh so you're "still" bfing, then?' comments but I smile and nod and point out that he's not EVEN 9 months YET. I know meds are a pain but it will be worth it. Well done again

wiggles jealous of an empty Ikea and dime bar cakes it's always rammed here and you end up following the same annoying family round, avoiding everything they've bought.

jane so sorry about your fake mum, just ignore her and start getting excited. Have you got an enthusiastic friend you can rope in? I grew up with my step dad since I was 2 and I'm lucky in that he's miles better than my real dad. The less said about him the better. If you want a laugh you should see Bridesmaids, the Kristen Wigg film? It's a chick flick AND it's hilarious- even DP laughed out loud and we had to flick back to the airplane scene again.

Things here are ok, lots of strikes still which make things awkward, and the rubbish has still not been collected which is, well, rubbish ;) ! Any spare moment I get on the computer I've been looking into doing a course online- all your talk of going back to work has made me think I should be doing something too (for me, that us, instead of doing everything for everyone else :) !) I might see if I can do an open university masters course to cover my poor degree what do you think?

ledkr · 25/10/2011 19:28

byron I am more than happy to come to yours for a meet up I can get used to ouzo and metaxa again Grin
Nightmare about the rubbish,i remember when we had the floods and no water for weeks
Had to get water from bowsers in the street.I kept waiting for the 4 horsemen of the apocolypse to come.

reastie read your info leaftlet and look up on net.Its a good choice, non addictive and effective. It can make you feel sick but that will go off after about 10 days and not as bad as pg sickness that you had.
If you feel worse or suicidal speak to gp asap, that is a rare side effect tho you may feel a bit anxious at first and that will go off too. Well done. Its nobody elses business how long you feed for,i assume you feed the same time as Dily will have bottles? I fed ds3 till he was well over a year.

ponyo Will you fuck away off with your size 12 Grin

Pics were good and Dilly liked it at Nannys. I had the most horrendous period pains tho,was nearly crying and was worried about driving.
I got to Mums and took out my tampon and it went Shock is that normal?

A man just knocked on the door and asked if i was the babysitter Hmm i said yes cos he was selling something Grin

reastie · 25/10/2011 19:36

haha ledkr that's happened to me with door to door salesmen only they've asked if my parents are at home Hmm . I feed alice I assume when you give dilly a bottle - I do first thing in morning, one mid morning, one mid afternoon and a couple in the evening. I've taken seroxat when I was a teenager btw but it didn't really do anything for me Confused . I did tell gp this which is why I was Hmm at that she prescribed it again for me. I seem to remember being headachey and tired and dizzy Hmm . Sympathies for the period pains - I get alot of painful ones now with my coil - they can be an absolute killer. I'm not really sure what you meant with your tampon 'went Shock ' though

Right I think I'm going to ignore everyone on the meet up Envy Envy Envy

No rubbish collections? Shock

needto how are you feeling now?

Emski76 · 25/10/2011 19:36

Hey all
An sooooooo jealous of the meet up, keep working out how I would get there but am worried about the traffic coming home on a Friday. Maybe in a month or so we could meet closer to the South West maybe near you, Ledkr?!

Jane, your step mum sounds extremely selfish and thoughtless. Everyone else is right about getting a close friend to come instead. Don't let it get you down, tho I know it's hard.

Byron, glad all is ok over there, despite the strikes! Good luck getting started on a course, I've done two years of an OU degree and it was fab.

Reastie, I'm do glad you made it to the doctors and that it went ok, well, as good as it could! Get yourself started on those ADs as soon as you can. I was on seroxat years ago and can remember feeling quite woozy at the beginning, but just remember any side affects wont last and you'll feel so much better in a few weeks or even sooner!

Ledkr, hope you enjoyed the cinema and snacks!

Noah's first full day at nursery went brilliantly, but he now has a stinking cold and has been quite unsettled today so I am dreading sending him to nursery tomorrow but if I was at work he woud have to go!
Dh and I are planning on shopping at Clarks Village tomorrow so fingers crossed Noah's well enough to go to nursery!

ILovePonyo · 25/10/2011 19:50

Evening,

reastie seemed like docs went well then? I was on seroxat when I was younger and (don't want to put you off) found I felt really down a few days after taking it, I had to go back to gp and get them to prescribe me something else. Just a friendly warning for you! Grin Oh and a Hmm to gp being huffy about you 'still' bf, helpful Hmm

ledkr Grin Don't be imagining anyone skinny, I did say size 12 in the right clothes (read as old and stretched haha). I have been a bit more uncomfortable with tampons than before I had dd, sounds a bit weird that the pain went when you took it out. If it happens again maybe speak to doc?

Hellooo byronic :) What are you planning to study? What was your degree in? Boo to strikes, sounds horrible with the rubbish :(

emski glad nursery went well, guess we need to get used to the many coughs and colds to come eh! Enjoy tomorrow.

Has anyone seen the thread about the clocks going back? I never thought about it but now I am worrying about disrupted sleep, boo, she was just getting good again (only had to do the dummy run a couple of times at 5.30 this morning Shock)

wigglesrock · 25/10/2011 20:03

emski glad Noahs day at nursery went well, hope he feels better soon and you and dh get your day out.

jane shit about Saturday, plan a lovely day anyway, have the fitting, get nails/eyebrows/feet? done, have a boozy lunch and get the excited giggles xx

byronicheroine hiya, doing a course is a fab idea, hope you find something you fancy [phnar phnar]

ledkr hope you're feeling a lot less crampy, how are you doing now?

reastie great that you kept the appt and came away with something. Have you ring the HV yet, well have you? Grin If you are bad at remembering to take tablets, just set a repeat alarm on your mobile.

ponyo think I was last a size 12 when I was 16, which as we all know was soooo long ago Grin

I have had really painful gums the past day or so, think I may have an infection. It sounds wussy but its really sore, the pain keeps moving around my mouth and I really don't think its my teeth. God, might have to phone my dentist, at least this time its free to hear him shout at me Grin

40Weeks · 25/10/2011 20:48

Evening

granny poor you with Nates fall, glad he is ok

Jane how can food shopping be more important? Maybe she has something/ a surprise planned?

ledkr you havey sympathies with the period pain, mine have only just calmed down. I now have a horrid cold too. Grumpy old woman I am.

reastie so glad you have been to the docs, even if she was a dope. See how you get on and if you're not happy then go straight back. Glad Alice is sleeping better, that will help too.

emski glad Noah got on ok today Smile

wiggles how are your gums now? Have you tried Anbesol? It's great for babies gums too. No no ANBESOL, that's other stuff is for the other hole [hgrin]

Byronic helloooo, sorry about the rubbish. OU course sounds good, any thoughts in what subject? I too am up for a Greece meet up!

I have nice straight teeth and have never worn a brace. Now don't all get bitchy and nasty with the jealousy, but you did ask

debka · 25/10/2011 21:08

Evening all, well reastie you did it, well done :) No advice from me re meds, i'd listen to ledkr IIWY (did I make that acronym up?? Grin)

40weeks I have lovely straight teeth too bit yellow though.

ponyo I saw that thread, I'm dreading it, esp since we'll be in a hotel Sat night and the breakfast won't start till 8 which is really 9am Shock

I only lost 1/2lb this week (grrrr bloody kit kats) BUT I got Slimmer of the Month!!!! Grin Grin Grin

janedoe25 · 25/10/2011 21:08

emski im glad noah was fine in nursery and hope he gets over the cold quickly.

Hi byron, Poooh to the no rubbish collections! I think the ou course sounds like a fab idea.

reastie I am glad you went to the docs, now get on the phone to your hv!

wiggles sorry about your sore gums, df swears by corsodyl mouth wash.

40 ha no chance is she cooking up a surprise!

mil is comming with me on saturday. Df and I have been together for 9 years today! It's the first year we have not celebrated it we are both sat on couch with laptops out! Grin
Hope everyone is having a nice evening.

janedoe25 · 25/10/2011 21:09

x post debka well done! you must be so proud of yourself. what does IIWY mean?

wigglesrock · 25/10/2011 21:16

jane yay for mil, some of them are lovely Grin

I don't think its a gum infection - Dr DIY here, I think it may be a sinus infection Sad, 40Weeks I have tried Anusol Anbesol and makes no difference, infact it hurts like bleep Grin

debka Grin, well done, keep it up, you'll be on This Morning in a few months as Slimmer of the Year!!

Oh, if we are doing nice things about ourselves ....... I never forget a birthday Grin

debka · 25/10/2011 21:23

wiggles hmmm may be more like years rather than months as the other meet up girls will confirm on Friday night when I'm not online to defend myself

jane If I Were You! I did make it up then!! Grin Congratulations on 9 years!!! Are you testing this month or will you wait for AF to turn up or not on Friday?

reastie · 25/10/2011 21:47

deb what do you get for being slimmer of the month? a kitkat perhaps . Did I tell you about when I worked at BBC and this mad woman used to ring up telling me all about how she was slimmer of the year and lost 20 stone in 2 weeks (or some other such unrealistically impossible loss) she was a nutter ?

wiggles not rung hv yet Blush will do it on thurs as tomorrow I'm off to cambridge to visit my sister to check out her student digs Grin . Btw I think my Mum swears by salt wash for those types of things, either that or TCP

americanexpat · 25/10/2011 21:49

reastie - well done on seeing the GP. Hmm at the "still breastfeeding" comments.

wiggles - I am now lusting after that rocking moose.

ledkr - Grin at salesman. Whenever a salesperson telephones and asks if I'm Mrs [DH's surname], I honestly say no because I didn't change my name.

jane - sorry about your stepmum. Deffo get a girlfriend to go.

Borg - Maybe I should try the personal shopper. I'm a bit skint though, do Primark have personal shoppers? Grin I was hoping to sew some things myself too.

I had my first period a few weeks ago, you all said the first is horrible but it was Shock horrible. I woke during the night and thought I was in labour again. I also tried my Mooncup and it was so painful.

wigglesrock · 25/10/2011 21:57

americanexpat moose is really cute but I also got a rabbit in a hat toy, along the lines of a magician hat and when you pull the rabbit it makes a tune. That universal traditional lullaby one, it is so cute, but its hidden on top of my wardrobe and has randomly started a few times this evening Grin

reastie I got a bit confused when I read your post re tampons and birth then I realised you meant Alices' birth (I'm a bit fuzzy with the smarts tonight). I remember after Sofia was born it took me a few months to get into the swing of tampons again. Am off to gargle salt water - my Mum told me to do the same Grin

tadjennyp · 26/10/2011 02:23

Grin wiggles about the 'swing of tampons!' That was a mental image I could have done without!

Sorry about your stepmum Jane. I hope you have a lovely time with your MIL and quaff a few glasses of champagne. Only the good stuff, mind. Congratulations on your anniversary.

Yuk to rubbish, byron. I hope you find the course you want to do!

Congrats to Deb on your slimmer of the month award. Smile I think I've put a few lbs back on since my birthday. Blush

Well done on going to the doctors reastie. That is the first step out of the way. Now to ring the HV (is she supportive?) but have a lovely time in Cambridge in the meantime. And you bf for as long as you please. Hmm

-10C here last night! Shock E still wanted to wear his summer pyjamas though.

Hope the babies are all sleeping nicely for you. Hello to everyone I've missed. Looking forward to seeing the photos of the meet-up. It sounds great!

Emski76 · 26/10/2011 06:33

Morning all,
Wiggles, meant to say that sore gums and teeth is always the first sign I have a sinus infection, I get them alot. I've never tried salt water, let me know if it works.

Jane, glad your mil is going with you Sat. Happy anniversary too! Love how you and df celebrated it, sounds just like me and dh!

Deb, well done on being slimmer of the month!

Tad, -10c, bloody hell. How cold is it in the day?

Have a good day everyone!

janedoe25 · 26/10/2011 07:34

Morning girls,

tad -10 Shock

wiggles I hope you are feeling better.

reastie Have fun in Cambridge and get on that phone!

american Grin at primark with a personal shopper, can you imagine?

debka It turns out im on cd 28 today, i counted wrong! If af is not here by the end of next week I will test but I'm not holding my breath.

reastie · 26/10/2011 07:43

tad Minus 10? Shock crikey

jane I'm crossing my fingers for you and hope the 2ww will be over soon (it's the not knowing and hoping every month that's so frustrating isn't it)

Well, Alice has now worked out how to get back to sitting position from crawling - didn't take long Shock . I think give her a week and she'll be crawling faster than I can walk Confused .

Am looking forward to cambridge today (apart from the car journey on my own). Here's hoping she doesn't cry the whole time

wiggles ems reminded me whenever I have a cold I get painful teeth whenever I walk - ever step makes my teeth feel like I've hit a nerve in all my teeth or sth - hope you're feeling better today

american I'm thinking of getting a mooncup (but am waiting until I can actually use a tampon again Shock ). Do you find it good?

NeedToCreepZZZ · 26/10/2011 08:45

reastie how are you feeling today? have you taken the seroxat? I had it years ago and remember feeling nauseous for the first 3 days but it was LOADS better if I ate something before taking it. Good luck and keep reminding yourself that in a couple of weeks they should start to take effect. I said to my brother when he started on ADs not to expect to feel high but to realise one day that you're having more level days than bad ones iykwim Smile. Oh and Shock at Alice's super abilities now, Ben has just worked out how to sit up from flailing on the floor lying down but the closest thing to crawling is doing the plank (yoga position) Confused He can shove half a slice of bread in his mouth though

slimmerofthemonth well done you!!! Bet you feel fab! It seems to have made you develop a wiggles type memory as well, remembering when jane's af is due Wink

wiggles I recommend white rum, it's what my housemate swore by for everything and it can't hurt (well can't hurt you anyway, any passers by beware!). Hope they heal up soon

tad yuk to rubbish smells, any hope of the strikes ending any time soon?

ponyo I love your description of being a size 12 Grin, I am going to really annoy ledkr now and say that I'm in some of my size 8's again (following your description) and no one can say I'm not as I can't make it to the meet up

ledkr was that some stealth boasting about looking the age of a teenager? Grin My mum keeps being asked if she's B's mum, normally by old ladies with dodgy eyesight, as he's now so blonde like her, he looks nothing like OH and me Confused

well, I think I'm over the worst of this bug/ flu. Actually fainted yesterday after bending over the cot to see to B as hadn't eaten in 4 1/2 days and still feel very weak but so much better. Going to attempt to get dressed today, exciting!

ledkr · 26/10/2011 09:46

needto Nope-I was lraning out of the window in the dark so he obviously couldnt see me properly. When i said i look ok i meant it but i look like a grown up Grin gosh you have been ill havent you?

Have to take D to hospital today for pre op stuff.Im starting to dread the op now.Think about it constantly Sad

I cant understand why i cant use tampons now, cos i had a section Hmm
We cab discuss it on Friday in loud voices in the mac cafe. Grin

Dilly has re discovered the fireplace,im off to buy a fireguard today its doing my nut in.

Deliaskis · 26/10/2011 11:06

You see what happens with me on this thread, is that I miss a day or two (for 'legitimate' reasons), and then I try and catch up, and I've missed loads, then I miss more whilst trying to catch up, and then I end up not posting for ages, and then you all think I don't care, but I doooooooooo!

So here I am.

Am v jealous of Friday's meet-up, and am having such a pish week at work that I was seriously considering taking Friday off as holiday and coming down to Brum to stalk join you.

My house move (due to be this week) is cancelled [wails] completely cancelled, dead in the water.

Claudia has had the lovely hand foot & mouth, and she was generous enough to share it with me, am just getting over it - had horrid blisters in throat ouch!

Deliaskis · 26/10/2011 11:07

And then I finish a post without properly...finishing a post...

Forgot what else I was going to write now.

Feeling very mnsocially inept.

D

wigglesrock · 26/10/2011 11:39

D no house move at all? Sad and Angry if you are angry too. I've moved house a few times [shudder], moved to this house 2 years ago, never moving again. Its so stressful at the time, everything hinges on other people, sellers, nasty mortgage people etc. Take Friday off - I insist Grin, hope you and Claudia feel better soon.

ledkr my mum is seriously at then end of her tether with Anna and her fireplace too, we don't have a fireplace/mantle Grin, caused much confusion our first year in the house, along the where do we hang our stockings for Santa etc, but now I see the benefits!! Although I caught Anna trying to climb our bottom stair yesterday Shock

Hope Dillys appt goes ok, we will all be here for you when she has the op, I'm on sneaky cig duties, everyone will take turns on sneaky swigs of vodka with you. You have helped and supported all of us on the thread, we will all be here for you in the run up and during Ds op xx

My mouth feels a little better emski I think the salt water helped Shock, but my ears feel a bit wonky, I may have back to workitis

Deliaskis · 26/10/2011 11:56

wiggles am Sad and very Angry too so feel free to also be both on my behalf! Stupid stupid lady (who we were swopping with) pulled out at the very lastest of last minutes. Everything is packed. I want to go and put turds through her letterbox. We'll put ours back on the market, but it's all such a pain.

Am Shock at all the very mobile babies. C is on the brink. I had mistakenly thought she would crawl from her tummy, but now I can see she is going to lurch forwards from sitting up. She almost did yesterday.

Ledkr hope hosp apt with D goes OK. Thinking of you (mainly with Envy as you apparently look to be about 17 yrs old, but you know, not just that).

Needto sounds like you've been proper poorly. Poor you. Hope you're finally seeing the worst of it off.

D
