Hello everyone!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Four4me · 23/10/2011 21:17

Oh reastie hope you are ok? I agree get to the gp asap, it is a waste of a day feeling like this another day. My friend is a gp and had really bad pnd after her dc1 about 8 years ago. They are human too and have their own real life problems so don't worry about just getting in there and breaking down, they are trained to look after you. Xxx

40 so glad little Mikey is recovering from the coffee accident.

Happy birthday to Em-Ben !!!!!! we had Thomas's 8th birthday here this week very very exciting!!

Am still checking in regularly to see you guys are all good, am looking forward to hearing about the meet up. Am better at face-to-face friendship than I am at typing so wish I could be there! Half term here and dh is away with work so it is 4:1 ratio arrrrrrrr. Going to bed now to prepare myself for the knackering week ahead.

americanexpat · 23/10/2011 22:25

reastie - I think very few people with depression feel horrible 24/7 so don't feel like a fraud. Like someone else said, once you come out the other side, you'll wonder why you didn't get help sooner. I nearly bought the elf costume at Next a few days ago but talked myself out of it at the last minute. [hgrin]

borg - I'm tempted to get L all the stuff I want too. He's going to have a massive train set when he's older.

wiggles - Ooooo, I'm vv tempted to get the rocking moose. Can't believe I didn't see it at Ikea, I would've bought it already.

I've been spending time on the S&B board and have just cleared a bin bag full of clothes from my wardrobe. I need a wardrobe overhaul before going back to work but not sure what I need. I'm trying to branch out from jeans + t-shirt/jumper.

ledkr · 24/10/2011 00:50

wiggs i cant imagine you crying on gps,on the rare occasions you ever admit to being mortal i am always a bit shocked. You always seem so calm and matter of fact Envy

I have been to a lovely local mumsnetter for wine and cigs it was really nice and now im off to sleep after my tea and toast,dh's turn to get up when dawns crack opens so im feeling smug about my forthcoming lie in Grin

reastie · 24/10/2011 09:12

morning ladies. Right, I've made an apt at my gp surgery for tomorrow. The only thing is it's not my usual GP, and the only time I've seen this gp before she was really nasty to me and basically told me I was wasting her time Shock Confused . I've made the appointment now so don't want to back out and didn't realise it was with her until i'd made it - do you think she will be nice to me? [hopeful] . If it helps last time I saw her was as I was tired all the time for a prolonged period of time and didn't know why and couldn't function well and got so miserable with it I went to see a gp. She just told me to go away (not quite in those words) Shock . This doesn't bode well does it

ledkr glad you had a nice time last night

wigglesrock · 24/10/2011 09:34

ledkr I was a different person before I got support with depression and was leant to deal with triggers and the odd warning sign. Took me about 2 years, 1 year on anti-depressants, a whole lifestyle/job re-think and then I eventually got pregnant with Sofia and everything just clicked into place. I've been really really lucky for the past six years with the girls and Mr W so now I scoff at tears Grin, bah didn't even shed a tear at Spooks last night ('twas something in my eye Blush)

reastie well done on making the appt, don't worry about the GP - she might have been having a bad day last time. I found it helped to write some notes down and bring them. So if you feel like you aren't explaining things properly or she doesn't understand the severity of your symptoms show her the notes.

chocoBOO · 24/10/2011 10:13

Hello!

Feel like I've missed so much even though I've only been away for the weekend! I've just read through but can only remember the highlights so

hugs to reastie and well done on booking GP appointment. I agree with making some notes, even if you don't use them they'll help you be strong!

ledkr I am very disappointed at the lack of PIL dramatics. You must try harder to annoy them! :-)

Happy birthday to Ben and Thomas. It was my cousin's little boys 6th birthday yesterday, he was spoiled rotten as we had a big party for him, my aunt and uncles 40th wedding anniversary and my cousin's baby's christening. Was a right knees up but R didn't nap ALL DAY!

Am starting to think about Christmas as lots of people were asking this weekend what to buy for R. My mum is getting her a little wooden train set and my brother is getting her Happyland stuff. I think several others wi get her stuff to go with that. I think we're going to get her musical instruments and wooden toys

needto hope you're feeling better today

Am really looking forward to the meet up. Who exactly is coming? I will PM my email and phone number. Was it Hubbard who didn't know how to get there from New St? I think you should be able to get a bus fairly easily - any that go up the Pershore Road will stop there. Or a taxi would only be less than a fiver. If you bring F's car seat I can come and collect you.

So, I am technically back at work today! I can't believe it! I'm on holiday for two weeks though so not actually back until the 7th which I think (by consulting wiggles Feb baby almanac) means that Wiggles, Ponyo and I are all back the same day.

Oh, and R got conjunctivitis from her nursery visit on Friday. And so it begins...

debka · 24/10/2011 10:16

Well done reastie on making the appt. Can you take DH along to speak for you?

DH back at last and we dtd this morning!!! Shock I am now slightly worrying about what time of the month it is... Grin

Hope you're enjoying your lie in ledkr.

debka · 24/10/2011 10:18

x post choc

We'll be there on friday, me, the girls and my mum (sorry!). I literally cannot wait! Will pm you my number now.

wigglesrock · 24/10/2011 10:38

debka Grin

choco I'm on 2 weeks leave from today as well. I think I have a fair bit of leave when I go back to take as well, but Christmas is our busiest time, so will probably take the rest at some point in Feb - when the girls are off for half term. We close until the 12 January for Christmas so am consoling myself that although it will be really hectic when I go back I'll have a big break from Christmas Eve.

ledkr · 24/10/2011 10:44

Deb that would be just your luck after all this time and put dh off for life Grin
dh was (ahem) amourous last night at about 2 o clock in the morning Shock iwas happy to oblige cos i knew he was on duty.D woke at 6 so you should have seen his face.I reminded him that it was him who was being disgusting half the night Grin

wiggs was hoping you'd say that cos am hoping to be myself one day without drugs. I am so much more relaxed these days and am loving Dilly and her antics. Long may it last. Its probably a good thing actually cos Ella is approaching the tween yrs and is defo a bit gobby and i dont tend to do gobby. Dh and i are planning strategies and sanctions in preparation.

I will pm my number later who is in charge? I just hope the weather holds out.Are we going to the zoo zoo zoo?

wigglesrock · 24/10/2011 10:47

ledkr "half the night" stealth boasting much Grin

WeAreBorg · 24/10/2011 11:22

Oh the meet up sounds so exciting, I feel so left out! Even debs mum is coming!

reastie well done and good luck for your appointment. If you don't get on with that GP please don't feel bad, and don't let it put you off, just book in with another one.

Envy at all this DTD business. We are nearly at our one year anniversary of DTD avoidance. I've no idea how people manage to conceive 2nd children.

did I miss a post from needto? Are things not so good again? Hope you are okay.

choc I am back on the 7th too!

WeAreBorg · 24/10/2011 11:38

expat I have decided to book a personal shopper at Fenwicks, it's my birthday next week and to be fair I have not bought any new clothes since I was pregnant. I only wear things I can breast feed in at the moment so generally my style is non existent! I can't be bothered traipsing round town with N, and on-line is no good as my shape is different now and I don't really know what suits. It's free, would that be any good for you?

I bought some new make-up (not worn it yet though) and had a haircut last week so hopefully I might start to look vaguely normal soon. Just need to actually start exercising again. My excuse today is........can't find my sports bra!

NeedToCreepZZZ · 24/10/2011 17:32

Apologies for being very behind with everyone but hello, will have to do a big catch up soon.

The needto house has been struck with a superbug and Ben has spent the last 2 nights at his gp's. I have never had anything like this before and OH came down with it 3 hours before me on friday night/ saturday morning. Am now over the worst (touch wood) and am sipping dioralyte which is so repulsive. Temperature is coming down and now it's mainly headache and cough but wow, I never knew I could go to the loo that much Shock OH is fine now and eating again but I'm giving it another day before I attempt that...

Anyway, I'll just crawl back into my lurgy filled pit now and squirt some dettol down the cyber line to protect you all from it Grin

reastie · 24/10/2011 18:34

needto I'm glad you're hopefully over the worst. I bet Ben missed you.

borg new make up, hair cut AND a personal shopping session? I feel we are going to need some photos of the evidence Grin

Envy to ledkrs stealth boasting and that deb has dtd. Still no maritals here for goodness knows how long Confused [ugly]

choc hope the conjunctivitis sorts itself out soon

Quote of the day from Alice's 5 yo cousin we saw today 'so you've just been carrying that milk around with you all through the walk? wow' Grin

reastie · 24/10/2011 19:24

gosh it's quiet here today. Where is everyone? Don't tell me you actually have a life outside mn Shock

debka · 24/10/2011 19:45

Hi reastie :) Ok this is just for you, don't tell anyone else, but the last time we dtd was when S was conceived Shock. I had a life today . DTD this morning , went shopping then went to Canterbury this arvo with DH and the girls, was lovely.

needto yuk yuk yuk get well soon :( We had that bug too, it was grimmer than grim, you have my sympathy.

ILovePonyo · 24/10/2011 19:51

Hi all, reastie that milk comment made me Grin haha! Good luck for tomorrow, theres always one gp thats a cowbag isn't there, my advice is if she doesn't listen or dismisses you, on your way out go to the desk and make an appt with another doctor. Hopefully you won't need to tho!

Needto eww to being poorly, I hope it goes quickly and you feel better soon. You have my sympathies!

Borg I threw my sports bras out. Oh what a shame! Agree we should have a photo of the new glammed up you, new make up and haircut always cheer me up :)

ledkr if dp attempted anything with me at 2am I'd be giving him a sharp elbow to the groin ribs Grin

choco conjunctivitis?! Oh no, what a nightmare. And I thought we would only have colds to contend with when they go to nursery! I am coming on Fri - are you group leader then? (yes you are b'cos I've just nominated you Wink)

deb Grin at time of the month, now that would be, erm, interesting Grin

Well today dd went to nursery whilst dp and I had a cuppa in the cafe (nursery is attached to posho gym) so was in there for an hour and a half and had a great time by the sounds of things! She had some stewed apple, had a play and was just getting tired and grumpy when we went back. Relief!
She's going back to have her lunch there next week. Aww my baby is growing up!

dp is out tonight so I am watching 16 and pregnant and having some cheesecake, yum yum. This week was supposed to be the start of my healthy eating Hmm

chocoBOO · 24/10/2011 20:37

EVening,

Quiet here today...I guess that's half term for you?

ponyo Glad DD got on ok at nursery. Let's hope she doesn't pick up lurgy like R! To be fair, she's not been ill, just gunky and the worst bit was having to trick into Sheffield while we were at mum's to go to the walk in centre.

deb Blimey! Fingers crossed your not up the duff. Unless of course you want another....

reastie How cute is your niece? I hope you felt proud at carrying that milk around!

borg You glamour puss! I bought a new work dress today in Tesco...not so exciting as a personal shopper!

ledkr Half the night? What do you think this is? Christmas?

Just took R over an hour to settle. Typical as DP is away. I have pizza and a Krispy Kreme for dinner. Not sure I am going to be a size 12 for my return to work...

Okay, I'll be "leader" for the meet up. You must all realise that I am 1) A control freak 2) A professional events organiser and 3) A total bossy boots. I will now PM ledkr and ponyo with my contact details - can you send me yours in reply? I already have debka 's details. I will issue joining instructions later this week.... Grin

ILovePonyo · 24/10/2011 20:59

choco you sound like the ideal candidate for leader! I am jealous of the krispy kreme, I love them so much, have you been in selfridges today or do they sell them near you? Hope R stays settled for you.

chocoroo · 24/10/2011 21:06

ponyo Unfortunately I haven't been on a Selfridges trip today, they sell Krisy Kreme's in Tesco round this way.

Watching Young Apprentice....hope it's as good as last year.

wigglesrock · 24/10/2011 21:22

chocoroo our Tescos sell them too Grin, I've never had one Blush

reastie Grin at your niece, what time is your appt tomorrow?, good luck if I don't catch you before you go x

ponyo glad nursery went well, full steam ahead for back to work Grin

needto sorry you are both so poorly, feel better xx

We are heading to IKEA tomorrow to buy As Christmas presents stock up on napkins and eat lots of dime bar cake and hotdogs. Anna has another tooth, up top, and she has started to pull herself up on her First Steps walker, but then she gets all confused and doesn't know what to do, she sort of stands there, looks confused and has a little moan Grin

janedoe25 · 24/10/2011 21:25

Just popping on to wish reastie good luck for tomorrow, hope you are ok. x

reastie · 24/10/2011 21:29

ponyo they sell krispy kreme at my local tescos too. I've never had one but I sometimes buy them for DH when I'm feeling nice Wink

deb I'm not quite so Envy at dtd now given it's been so long. Do you want another?

Think it was deb who asked about alices sleeping? Didn't want to tempt fate but for nearly a week she's only woken once all night Shock . We've got her in with us in the evening when she wakes up but she usually goes back to sleep quite soon. Tonight, however, she is still awake and currently crawling around my bed crying Confused . Only on day 3 of crawling and already fed up - this afternoon I don't know how many times i pulled her from the fireplace!

choc do you want sprinkles with your ice cream Wink Love junior apprentice

reastie · 24/10/2011 21:34

x posted. wiggles and jane it's at 3 tomorrow. You're v thoughtful and lovely thank you.

wiggles enjoy the ikea trip. Alice does something similar on her baby walker thingy - she moves her arms really far forward but forgets to move her legs so she goes all skewed Wink
