Hello. Think i was first to deliver off the September EDD thread so waving to see if anyone else out there yet to join me :)
Had my 2nd DD on 26aug by C-sec. We now home but struggling with BF and baby lost 10% body weight in 3days. Started to top up with formula in syringe to try give cracked. Bleeding nipples a rest, but milk is starting to drip out now leaking everywhere! Hoping for a better night tonight after 3nights of hourly feeds and snatching 2-3hrs of sleep.
Anyone else struggling too?

Worried ddt wont fel the same, or feel good. I dont like condoms either, just doesnt feel the same.

ssmile LOVE the idea of rechargable batts!!

100years · 03/11/2011 14:19

Bloody hell, been busy in here since monday :)

Ssmile, reading your post about hits made me remember I've not taken any, and I really ought to as in case I'm not getting enough for LO. Glad you got your coil, I've had one in the past, pre baby and it was a bit uncomfy. Glad you got some decent sleep last night :)

Jojo, sorry you sound like it's tough with you and your OH being in different places.

Love, I'm trying to bring a bedtime routine in for our LO now also, she is 8 weeks tomorrow, so far it's involved me going to bed earlier with her, although only one night she has gone down earlier! I'm also opening the curtains early in the morning so as day and night are separate. Keeping the bedroom really dimly lit at night when doing the 'last feed' or what I always hope will be the last feed. She did go down at 11pm last night :) So I was asleep way before midnight!

Jimmi, I know someone who had an implant and bled continuously after it and ended up having it taken out. DTD does feel a little different at first, it's still slightly uncomfy for me, but I had an episiotomy.

OK ladies, maybe TMI here. Have been blood free for a couple of weeks now, and I've this morning had some spotting like the start of a period. Confused Am EBF. Not sure if I'm getting my periods again, having lochia again, or something else(I want to mention some other cause of bleeding but I shan't just at the moment). Got post natal check this afternoon so will mention it to the doc, not that I'm worried, just I don't want my periods again ever yet.

Jabs in the morning tomorrow. I'm fine about it, not worried, will watch the jabs being done on me, watch blood being taken so I have no worries about her's. I possibly won't watch the needle going in though with her.

LO has found her thumb, and hand, sometimes she just doesn't get what to do with it, sucks the bottom bit of her palm and then wipes her hand over her face a bit like a cat preening itself! It's really cute.

She's in her moses basket at the moment, napping off and on, I went over to her while she was awake smiled at her and she properly grinned back, 2 mins later she's asleep again!

Have had 2 nights where she has slept for 4 hours after the 'last feed' which is great :) So much nicer than waking after only 2 hours. Hopefully she will start and do it a bit more. She is so tired in the evening, but won't go down early, she'll drop off to sleep on us while we are watching TV or after a feed and as soon as we move she wakes again and then it's hard to get her off again. I reckon if we managed to get her down when she first drops off she would sleep from 8 or 9 ish, as it is it's way later than that.

Jojo1983 · 03/11/2011 15:01

Afternoon ladies,
Another good nights sleep for us, Started to get LO in to a routine he has his bottle around 7-8pm then i put him down into his moses basket close the curtains and turn off the lights he normally falls asleep about ten minutes later and wakes up around 12/1am for next feed where I now only have the night light on so I feed him change his nappy if needed then pop him down again he then wakes up around 4/5 for another feed then drifts off again until 6/7 where he comes into bed with me for a cuddle. Fingers crossed this lasts!
Going to get him weighed tomorrow and to ask the HV about the spots he has im sure they are just milk spots but they are everywhere!

sebs71 · 03/11/2011 17:20

Well done Jojo, that sounds really good. I'm sure the spots are just milk spots.

100years - hope the GP was able to tell you what the bleeding was. Sounds like you're starting to get an evening routine going. We are trying this week but not to much success (she's 7 weeks tomorrow). But, starting with it, just needs perserverence I guess.

My LO is also just starting to recognise her hands! Also, has a ticklish spot under her chin that makes her giggle, it's gorgeous! Because she's smiling and laughing more now, DSD (10 years old) is starting to be really interested in her... particularly as LO seems to recognise us all now and smiles at us... it's lovely!!

God, yes, the sound of having rechargable batteries to provide us with energy sounds really good.

Been into work today to show off LO! As I work in a college, the hair and beauty students were all cooing over her! She was as good as gold, so proud of her, just cooed and then feel asleep when held. Felt strange that people were going past saying "awww, cute baby" and they were actually talking about MY daughter! Wow, been waiting for this for so long, it was so nice. It was also nice to get out in the car - first time with Alys. Yay to get back a bit of freedom for both of us, feels like I've opened a door!

Soooo tired now, and have neuralgia on my left side of face - think it's just tiredness that's brought it on. So hoping she sleeps better tonight... she's seems so happy and settled in the day.

LoveBeingAFirework · 03/11/2011 18:03

Has anyone heard from helenmn yet?

Lollyheart · 03/11/2011 18:08

love I've only had the link from her, I haven't heard anything since, have you ?

100years · 03/11/2011 20:32

sebs, the doc said as I'm EBF I could get spotting as opposed to period starting, it's only been when I've wiped, it's not on a liner that I've got on in case, so I'm not worrying about it. It's great going into work and showing off your baby, :) I took LO into OH's work today and even though I didn't know anyone there it was still cool.

Jojo, sounds good there for you :)

Love I've also had the link but heard nothing else.

Doc's check was all good, she's doing really well for all the checks :) Doc was cooing over her as well as the student doc. :)

jimmijam · 03/11/2011 22:11

100 id forgotten that. A couple of weeks ago i had a little pink in some discharge so put a liner on then only found it on wiping. Night without, next night foubd it on wipinv, next night off...went on about 4 tines but has been fine ever since.

ssmile · 04/11/2011 08:00

100 with DD1 I exclusive BF and got my period at 4wks then regular as clock work after but was lighter than usual but still 4days of bleeding. This time nothing until last two days alittle but think that's because I had coil fitted.
sebsglad you had gd visit out to work and driving again.
jojo sure it milk spots but if you start to get little red cracks around wrists, behind knees etc may need a barrier cream due to sensitive skin, my first had this after milkspots.

We had night of two halves heavenly Lo slept 8pm-1am wow! Then alas went down hill and I only got a 40min and couple 20min sleeps as just couldn't settle her due to wind again.

100years · 04/11/2011 08:38

Thanks both, so it's not unusual then :)

I have a couple of ulcers on the inside of my cheek, it's making my whole jaw ache :(

I also feel like I got no sleep last night. We've had 5 feeds in the night with long settling in between, I managed a 2hr stint of sleep from 12 till 2 but it's been only a few 50min disturbed naps since then. :( thankfully it's lie in day tomorrow for me if I need it, and I will if she does the same again tonight. Zombie mode today.

Off for jabs at 11. Hoping she's ok after them.

SkiBumMum · 04/11/2011 08:52

Hi. Can I join your chat? DD2 was born on 12/9 by elective section. DD1 is 2.9. I'm completely knackered, on the verge of tears a lot and living for nursery days. Hoping things pick up soon!

feralgirl · 04/11/2011 14:22

Oh, I got the link and did the questionnaire but nothing else yet. Try pming again maybe love? (like the name btw Smile)

DD's dot DS's cold now and is full of snot; I was sure that last night would be a killer but she woke at 12.30-ish then went straight through to 8am Shock I cannot believe how lucky I am to have a good sleeper this time round and I understand what it's like to have one who doesn't so I do feel your pain Skibum et al Sad

I didn't realise we could BF and have the implant, bloody HV never told me that. I think I might give it a go. Re returning periods, I also didn't realise they could come back so early (no sign of mine yet); DS was 8 months before they came back last time.

jimmijam · 04/11/2011 16:02

candr · 04/11/2011 18:41

Have had crappy few days, have had big trouble from local youbs on halloween night where they threw stuff at our houses then tried to fight my DH and neighbour when they told them to bugger off, they threw eggs at me while I was holding the baby so police etc are involved but we are expecting backlash from young thugs for getting them in trouble - was really scary as there were about 20 of them. Have then had 3 days with no power as having new boilers, radiators etc and had to try and bf baby with workmen stomping up and down stairs(big muddy boots and once cream carpet) - no privicy and baby still has colic so lots of screaming. Am so pleased it is the weekend as DH is home and can help with baby. Have police watchng the area over weekend in case of trouble. Sooo stressful. I really want some sleep!!! Baby eating like crazy, alot of it comfort eating from colic pain but is now 9.14lb, can't believe it the little porker (was 5.3lb at birth and is 7 weeks now) Hope everyone has a nice weekend and LO's arn't scared of firework bangs.

jimmijam · 04/11/2011 19:13

candr u remind me of the main reason we moved dowm south- 2 stop being scared in our own home. Was so glad wen we sold the house :-)
Im so sorry 2 hear ur having a bad time of things. Also sorry theres nothing i can say that will make it any better. Other than that ur boiler etc will soon b sorted then u can enjoy having the house back 2 urdelf xx
