Hello. Think i was first to deliver off the September EDD thread so waving to see if anyone else out there yet to join me :)
Had my 2nd DD on 26aug by C-sec. We now home but struggling with BF and baby lost 10% body weight in 3days. Started to top up with formula in syringe to try give cracked. Bleeding nipples a rest, but milk is starting to drip out now leaking everywhere! Hoping for a better night tonight after 3nights of hourly feeds and snatching 2-3hrs of sleep.
Anyone else struggling too?

Oh that sounds exciting Helen have emailed you Smile

I'm just catching up, will be back Smile

feralgirl · 01/11/2011 14:02

Thank you so much everyone, reading your replies has made me a bit weepy but it's also made me feel much better, knowing I'm not alone. Wow, what do people do without MN I wonder!

Had a crap start to the day as DS was being a stereotypically difficult toddler but, after losing my rag with him Sad, I bundled him off to nursery and spent the morning fitting a new fireplace in my living room with my dad which has also cheered me up. Sun's out too so that always helps Smile so I'll take DS to the park and let him order me around later to make up for my being such a grumpy mummy earlier. I do think I'll phone the HV this week as well though.

Jojo that sounds tough going too but good that you're going away; where to?

Well done for good sleeps everyone; I managed to get DD in bed at 9.30 after cluster feeds last night and she didn't wake until 4.30 which was awesome.

Ssmile we've got jabs next week too Sad

feralgirl · 01/11/2011 22:39

Hope the weather here in the SW holds for you Jojo; it's been glorious here in Cornwall today.

LoveBeingAWitch · 02/11/2011 04:39

Ds went to sleep just before 11pm and has just woken for his feed Shock the longest ever sleep, I can't believe it Grin

LoveBeingAWitch · 02/11/2011 04:42

Had a crap start to the day as DS was being a stereotypically difficult toddler but, after losing my rag with him , I bundled him off to nursery

That's how most of my days start too Grin

LoveBeingAWitch · 02/11/2011 04:45

ssmile, ds has been really windy yesterday, very strange. Have you tried winding half way through?

LoveBeingAWitch · 02/11/2011 05:06

Feral - re you and dh sorry agree with the others you need to talk to him. You sound quite like dh and I, we can argue over nothing Grin. It's so hard when you've got a toddler as well. I've got a 3.5 yr old dd and boy is it a challenge with both of them.

So we are at 8 weeks now and feel I need to start some sort of routine for bedtime but not sure where to start Confused

jimmijam · 02/11/2011 07:12

feral this does depend on ur hv, myn at the time was lovely. With ds1 i struggled (in my headspace) & cried several times 2 our hv as at the time couldnt talk 2 dh (been in labour etc etc yet he had really long lie ins & was nar useless). A couple of times she came out the morning of my phone call & was so understanding. Perhaps u could try talking 2 ur hv?

sebs71 · 02/11/2011 07:27

Spoke to soon about her having better nights- she slept 10.30 - 12.30 then woke up every hour even after putting her in our bed which normally calms her. Of course she's flat out now on her chair whilst we have to get up! Poor thing though, something bothering her but we tried everything but nothing settled her. Sooo tired...

ssmile · 02/11/2011 08:03

Oh dear sebs hope you get some rest today. It's gd to know we all in same boat re ups &downs of sleep. I felt such a failure with DD1 who never slept well I questioned myself lots as too what I was doing wrong as it felt like most of my then antenatal group all had lovely sleepy babes. DD1 has always struggled with sleep even now at 4.5yrs she just vwired active child. With this babe I was hopeful it would be different it started off that way but since her cold been pretty tough going with sleep. Up 12,2,4 didn't settle after 4am much now asleep as we depart for school. Feels rather relentless at the moment but I'm tryin hard to just tell myself each day is a new one and it does eventually get easier. Off to DR today babe got her jabs (9.5wks) and I'm having coil fitted so bit nervous as heard horror stories but after talking to DR and nurse feel reassured its right for me at moment, I'm nearly 39 so my options ltd.
Sending sunny energy vibes to all :)

Glad all went well Ssmile, and hope you enjoying those bourbons! I have to wait till 8 weeks for my check up and I'll ask about contraception then. THe midwife in the hospital suggested Cerazette (the mini pill that you don't have to take exactly the same time each day)... so I'll ask about that and if ok with my age too (40).

Managed to have a sit down watching ER... that'll do as a rest for now!

jimmijam · 02/11/2011 14:48

Ur brave! If u ever get unexpected/ unusual strong tummy pains pls go straight 2 dr. (looking back i can.pinpoint wen coil perforated my uterus, but went on 2 ignore any pains 4 nearly a year after until i went 2 get it removed 2 ttc this lo & they couldnt find it. Coils r good :-) just pls domt put up with pain like me, tho im sure ul b fine)

Any1 know much about the implant? Im getting call from dr 2moro 2 arrange 2 get it fitted

luckily dh kreping ip with it but iv been eating lots of sugary xrap 2 keep me going. Sooooooo tired. Asked dh 4 lie in 2moro as a wedding ann. Present (cuz he hasnt got me 1) but now got got blood test 2moro am.so will have 2 get up 4 that!

Hi all love, it's so reassuring to hear you say that you understand. Been a bit better today, spent the afternoon under a blanket with DD feeding and reading which was lovely.

I've just given her a great big feed whilst putting DS to bed and she was all sleepy after our bath so I've fed her again and settled her. Fingers Xed this might just be the start of a bedtime routine!

Good effort with the coils ssmile; I'm thinking I'll probably go with that Cerazette too, if DH and I ever get back to sleeping in the same bed!

Minkyjj · 02/11/2011 23:08

%23%23%23%23 evening ladies. I am on the cerazette and so far so good. Saying that I haven't been anywhere near dh and we are not just not sharing a bed but we are in different parts of thr house ! Dh made a sarky comment when I told him I had started taking it !
I woke up in so much pain last night that I thought I was passing out - don't know what it was but I think it's related to this ruddy constipation - it's still not any better. I also think it's why I am not losing tummy as quickly as I did with other dcs. I also noticed tonight that I have a slight bleeding bit over part of my scar - only just noticed it - think it's where I got an ingrowing hair in the scar tissue but will keep an eye on it. Next week I am back to my lovely gp with lo for 8 week check and vaccinations so can always ask him for advice then.
Finally managed to make my Christmas cake today - the fruit has been soaking on brandy for three days now and was only meant to be 24 hours but just couldn't find the time to finish it until now.
Lo had an unsettled night again - took him hours to settle and then was up every two hours. Hoping he will be asleep sooner tonight but not looking good so far !
Hope you all have had better days and have good nights tonight. Smile

Minkyjj · 02/11/2011 23:09

Blush that was meant to be %23%23%23%23 (hash signs!)

LoveBeingAWitch · 03/11/2011 07:15

OH MY GOD Shock. I put ds down in our room at 8pm and he took about half an hour to drop off )love my video monitor) and he didn't wake til 2:30am for a feed, then again at 4;30 with and monster nappy and clothes change and has just woke me at 7am. This I can cope with Grin

Dd woke at 5am for the toilet and hasn't yet opened her door, I can hear her so think she is playing nicely in her room Grin

LoveBeingAWitch · 03/11/2011 07:17

Does anyone know the guidelines for the implant? Got my checkup on sat and wouldn't feel happy with the pill as I would forget to Yale it and I cannot have three children, ditto not been near dh, or in same bed Grin

Lollyheart · 03/11/2011 07:25

Well done babylove Smile

I had the implant before I got pregnant with ds, unfortunately it never agreed with me, I think I had 1 or 2 days a month where I didn't bleed.
You can always try it have it taken out if it doesn't agree with you.

jimmijam · 03/11/2011 07:34

lov im on noriday pill as of yesterday, unyil get something else sorted. Dr will ring me re implant 2day so can tell u more later. Dr i saw tues sed its as effective as steralisation & lasts 5years. Thats all i know 4 now im afraid-ooh & its ok en bf.

We to havent dtd yet howevrer hard dh tries. 4 some reason now we can dtd i feel scared or something, wotever it is its stopping me dtd anyway.
Tho its our wedding ann. 2day so iay kust face the fear later...

Woohoo ds1 didnt wake up #6am 2day, he got up with me @ 7!!! :-)

sebs71 · 03/11/2011 07:41
Another bad night including LO screaming at 4am with wind and throwing up all over me. She did settle from 4.30 til 6.30 at least.

Going into work with her today - although a feed at 7 has thrown me out of sync as means will be wanting feed at 1 prob - just when I'm there (it's a college so best going lunchtime so they're out of class! Nevermind just might feed her there.

A friend had implant and didn't like it - particularly the implanting and getting it out. But that was a few years ago and things improved I'm sure.

Looking forward to sorting something out at check up in couple weeks as don't like condoms which is what we're using now.

Well done to baby love hope it is a pattern.

sebs71 · 03/11/2011 07:46

Jimmi - I was pretty nervous too, felt like our first ever time again! But ok once feared faced Grin been better since too

ssmile · 03/11/2011 10:27

My vstressed out DH (job manic at mo he working 12hr+days) walked in door last night took one look at me trying to get DD1 ready for bed told me to go to bed. I was dead on my feet I zonked out for an hr got up he sent me back to bed again, had another hr got up fed babe &changed her nappy she was still asleep, she had zonked out at 5.30pm and hadn't stirred after being awake all day. Put her in cot &she slept another 2.5hrs, did huge pooh which meant I had to turn the light on but she fed and went straight back to sleep for another two hrs :o wow, I ended up getting nearly 8hrs of broken sleep over a 12hr night was heaven feel like new woman this morn. Done 15min power cycling, half walk to school& cleaned bathroom and now off to see friend. Oh lovely sleep shame we can't buy little rechargeable sleep batteries for us :o
