Lis hope everything goes ok today.

For those of you whose lo's have has colds, how long does the snuffly phase normally last?

fraktious · 29/07/2011 10:16

Lis I'm thinking of you this morning, big hugs.

ILike - I have done that with a trolley before, v.Blush

T slept 8.30-6am!! Shock Huuuge feed and then back in his bed until 8am. Then he fed again and was awake for just over an hour, and now he's back asleep upstairs!
I've got a moses basket in the kitchen atm that he has been having most of his daytime naps in, but he doesn't nap much during the day now and he can cope with me being out of the room for 5-10 minutes these days so I think I'm going to get rid of it. Gradually trying to reclaim the house from all the baby paraphanalia! (sp???)

LisMcA · 29/07/2011 22:43

Well I've survived. We are staying tonight but only because I want too! B has been a star all day. Although maybe a little over stimulated! Will post more when we get home tomorrow as met up with my cousin (the one with the family portrait Xmas card) and she imparted all her mummy knowledgeWinkHmmConfusedGrin.

Liv77 · 29/07/2011 23:48

Glad that everything went as well as can be expected Lis.

I spent the day playing tour guide as have a friend visiting us from London for a week. It meant P had her first trip to the beach today, it went well although the breastfeed may have been a little sandy due to DS's earlier vigorous digging when burying my feet in the sand Grin

Tomorrow we're off to the scarecrow festival

Cyclebump · 30/07/2011 07:34

Glad it was ok Lis.

Beach sounds like fun Liv.

Another bad night here last night. Am bloody knackered and H looks tired too, so why won't he sleep?! Bless him, he's being all cute now the cheeky monkey.

chillikat · 30/07/2011 11:30

Well, M woke up at 3am. I gave her a feed and she went back to sleep but I think she's enjoying practising what noises she can make as she woke us up again at 7.30 chattering away to herself, then giving us big grins.

I got her a Jumperoo this week I think she's a bit little for it yet as she needs a file box underneath because she can't touch the floor and will cry if she's in it for more than a couple of minutes. Like the mobile and the bouncy chair I think it'll be one of those things that she'll suddenly find is the best thing ever. I hope so due to the cost and the amount of floor space it takes up!

Glad things went ok Lis and hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

ecuse · 30/07/2011 12:09

Thank you for those who are more excited about my little girl rolling than her father Wink. She's shown no inclination to do it since then, mind. Is front to back harder then? I assumed it would be the easier way round. She's shown no sign of back-to-front rolling yet.

Wish I was going to the beach ....

ecuse · 30/07/2011 12:09

[13 weeks]

chillikat · 30/07/2011 12:36

ecuse we don't seem to have any desire to do rolling either way here, though I keep hinting to her how to do it. And even demonstrating to her Hmm and we're 18 weeks tomorrow!

Cyclebump · 31/07/2011 08:32

Still no sign at all from H either and he's 17 weeks on Tuesday.

Better night last night but DP is having a lie in because 'its my only day off', when I complained he said 'every day is a day off for you' while giggling madly knowing I would batter him so I picked up a pillow and did so. Grin

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 31/07/2011 08:50

How did I miss that you lived on Guernsey Liv?? I have a hankering to go there after reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Pell Pie Society. Have you read it?

Chilli - I should imagine your dd finds the Jumperoo hard work to be in at the moment as her muscle tone probably still needs developing. Once she can sit up unaided she'll love it. I don't have one, but friends have and their lo's go mad for it.

I rolls onto his side, no proper rolls yet. Although I can see that toys are a good lure for him, so I should put some just out of his reach ....... But then again I don't want him getting too mobile Blush

Dh and I took the boys on the train to London yesterday. We visited the London Eye and the Aquarium. Baby I was in the sling from 8am-6pm so I feel rather Tired today. Both boys were complete stars, especially ds2. Dh and I were both very proud of him. He especially enjoyed seeing all of the street artists on the SouthBank. I do love London and all it offers, but by the end of the day I had had enough of the crowds, the rushing about and rude pushy people Grin

DairyBeetle · 31/07/2011 14:58

ILTMIMI I know just what you mean about London. I love visiting for the day, but I also love leaving at the end of the day!

I think that the teething induced lack of sleep finally caught up with S this weekend hand he has slept for 11 hours the last two nights!!! (Please don't hit me all at once!). I'm hoping the theory that sleep = more sleep works and that he keeps this up. (Though my boobs are agony when he wakes up!)

Since the rolls of the other day S hasn't done it again, he does seem to enjoy rolling to his side and watching the tv though.

Oh, and if anyone is interested I went with the NSecessity (sp?) travel centre as a travel cot. I'm very impressed! Decided to get the small size but it's still big enough for me to get in it (DH dared me, so what could I do?! Grin ) and S seems to like it. He's not slept in it yet but we've had it in the garden for him to play in and he's very happy in it!

Cyclebump · 31/07/2011 16:27

I live in west London and even I get sick of the centre, it's awful sometimes!

We've got one of these and H loves it. Like everything else though he can only be in it for a while before he wants people play time.

MrsWajs · 31/07/2011 17:29

Aww baby R was made a year ago today!! Just thought Id share that with you all!! :)

LisMcA · 31/07/2011 19:45

OH MY GOD B JUST FED FROM ME! DIRECTLY FROM ME! FOR HALF AN HOUR

We were in the bath, splashing, took him in for a bozie, and he latched on all by himself!

Hurrah Lis, and hurrah for baby B!

Thanks for that info MrsW Grin

gingerbubs · 31/07/2011 20:16

I keep meaning to post but struggle a bit to keep up with everyone and don't want to seem rude with no name checking, but just had to say...
Yay Lis and baby B! Smile

Cyclebump · 31/07/2011 20:18

That's amazing Lis!!

Well done and I'm sooooo pleased for you both x

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 31/07/2011 20:37

Oh Lis that is lovely! I'm so chuffed for you GrinGrin

I am making progress with potty training, DS1 is fine as long as he has a bare bum, but it all goes wrong once he's got pants on. Any tips?

caramellokoalalover · 31/07/2011 20:49

Lis that is excellent news! Well done little B!

Ali sorry no tips on the toilet training, it's all going very badly here and we've backed off altogether for the moment. Will try again in a couple of weeks I think as DS was starting to say he didn't want to use the potty or even sit on it to try. Great your LO has got the hang of it bare bum though, I'm sure he'll work out pants on mode pretty quickly.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 31/07/2011 20:53

Twas exactly the same with ds Ali. It was just time that seemed to work. I carried on taking ds to the loo every 45 mins when out, but left him bare bummed at home and he would take himself to the toilet. When I was more confidant that he had and understood bladder control, I then put him in pants (no shorts) at home. It all seemed to come together (him actually asking to go for a wee and not wetting himself when he had pants on) when he understood bladder control. In the early days of potty training, I think he only went on the potty because I put him there, not because he knew he needed to wee -iyswim.

I would also say in ds's case we confused him by occasionally putting a nappy on him when out and about. Bad idea I think and it really didn't help in the long run.

LisMcA · 31/07/2011 21:24

I know!! It's taken 13 weeks! And I wasn't even trying to get him on. he just fell on me!! He still took a bottle of 5ozs of EBM before bed, but he's been a gannet these last few days!!

Tried offering him the otherside, but that was a bit difficult logistically (low down nipple). But I don;t care! If he will only feed from one side I can live with that!!

JustKeepSwimming · 31/07/2011 21:25

Lis - seriously fab news, well done both of you :)

Ali - sure you have done already, but character pants? don't want to get ' wet do we? etc. Persevere though, sounds like he's getting it.
