I hadn't thought about phrasing it that way JKS, we have Bob the Builder pants so that might work. I think he would like to get it, he came to find me when he had done a wee in them, bizarrely he was less worried about the poo Hmm

Starshaped · 31/07/2011 22:39

Yay Lis - fab news for you and B! Smile

fraktious · 31/07/2011 22:57

Oh Lis that's wonderful news! Well done B Grin

OP posts:
kittycatcat · 31/07/2011 23:16

Yay lis

And Grin mrs wWink

s is poorly. Been constipated since yest but making up for it thanks to gripe water. Just did an exploding nappy mid feed. Had to summon dh. He also has the cold u have all been speaking of. Took him to my mums today and he screamed for 35 minutes of the hour and a half drive home. Hmm
Hope you all had lovely weekends

BuckminsterFullerene · 31/07/2011 23:33

yay Lis! Grin

me and DH just had our first night out together. We saw HP!

My sis & nephew are visiting, and then my mum made a surprise visit too. Te boys have had great fun together, shame & DSis have had a great time chatting about everything. No doubt she's told mother about poor DH not getting any! But F was in good hands & only just stirring as we got back.

Nice little feed & snuggle. I wonder how much sleep he'll let me have now!

night all Smile

Liv77 · 31/07/2011 23:49

Yes, I have read Potato Pie ILTMI, I quite enjoyed it, but reading it as a local girl I had to try not to be too critical about the facts. It does seem to be a love or hate book for islanders. It's definately done wonders for the tourism trade. They're making a film version but it's doubtful if any of it will actually be shot on the island. Sad.

My friend is enjoying her holiday, I'm going to take her across to Herm with DS on Wednesday and my mum is going to have Baby P. It only takes 20mins on the ferry and then a short walk and we'll be here. Am I making you Envy yet. Grin

BuckminsterFullerene · 01/08/2011 03:03

not going out again. Couldn't get to sleep for ages (it is hotter than the surface of the sun in this house), and now F's awake. I fed him as usual, he pooed so I had ti change him, which he thought was the best thing ever. Then he puked on himself, so had to change his clothes. Tried to feed him back to sleep and he pretty much bit my nipple off. Whereupon he for bunged back in his cot, much to his delight where he woke up my nephew by "chatting" and, since he's now got a sheet instead of sleeping bag, he's kicking the cot and grabbing his feet making a right racket. And in a minute, when he starts screaming, I'm going to have to stick my nipple back in his toothy gob so he doesn't wake up his cousin again.

Did I mention it's, like, a million degrees? Or that I'd only been asleep an hour?

ecuse · 01/08/2011 04:11

Aaah, Lis, that's lovely, you must be thrilled

BuckminsterFullerene · 01/08/2011 05:01

and repeat.

after spending an age rocking him in the car seat in the kitchen, he finally went to sleep at 4. DH woke at 4:20, and then F woke again at 4:35 (the old 35min nap trick). Went to feed him back to sleep again and he pooed AGAIN. So we're back to square one. He's wide awake enjoying this wonderful game. We're back in the kitchen in the dark (not for long) and I've had a grand total of 1.5hrs sleep.

If we didn't have visitors I'd have just left him in his cot both times.

Is this the dreaded sleep regression? I can't see how it can get worse!

daisylulu · 01/08/2011 06:55

Oh buckminster that sounds hideous Sad you have my sympathies. I'm not sure about the 4 month sleep regression as J is only 3 months but it sounds hellish. I do know that J seems to have a radar for when I'm going out, eat or have a bath etc and then decides to play up!

kittycatcat · 01/08/2011 07:27

Oh buck big hugs.

S is still snotty, and still seems to have tum ache. Just gave him more gripe water but not sure how much he kept in. He also bought up what looked like most of his last feed Sad

Cyclebump · 01/08/2011 08:43

Eugh that sounds grim Buck, hope you get a chance to rest today.

[Respectful pause]

H went 9.30-5 then 5.30-8!! thank the Lord I was starting to lose my mind...

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/08/2011 08:47

Buck that sounds awful Sad

It could be regression, or it could just be one bad night caused by an abnormal day and things will calm down again. If it is hot then he will be thirsty which will be one reason for the more regular feeds.

A night of 2 halves here. 8.30pm-3.30am and then 5.30, 6.15 and 7.45.
Combined with the snoring lump that was my husband last night, let's just say I'm not feeling very refreshed this morning!!

DH has just gone off to start his new job, he is so nervous poor chap. He'll be fine once he is there I'm sure.

BuckminsterFullerene · 01/08/2011 09:07

thanks for the sympathy! it was DNephew that woke at 4:20, not DH.

We then had 5-6 and 6:30ish-7:20.

But, his 2nd tooth cut overnight, which explains the biting, and might explain the restlessness.

No guests tonight, so at least if he does it again we can leave him to chatter in his cot.

LisMcA · 01/08/2011 10:01

Morning everyone!

Buck sounds hellish, but I know what you mean about worring about waking guests. At my mums the slightest sound and we had him up and bottle in his mouth!

good luck to you DH Ali.

MrsW :o Thanks for sharing!! I didn't see your post last night, was just a teensy bit excited!![self absorbed emoticon]

We had an epic night of 8.30 til 9.10! I'm putting it down to boob milk :o

We are off to Ikea today. I want to buy some clever storage for the livingroom as it has already been turned into a toy factory, so its only going to get worse in the months to come!

DH is off today for a public holiday! He gets loads, so I have no idea what this one is!

MrsWajs · 01/08/2011 10:09

Aww Lis I'm super chuffed for you and B!! Well done, it's great news!

Buck sounds like you've had a hellish night. Hope you get a chance to put your feet up today.

We also had a good night, 9.30 - 6 and then 6.30-8.30 :)

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/08/2011 10:20

Lis - Expedit is brilliant. We have a block of 8 in our dining room which holds most of the toys.

Starshaped · 01/08/2011 10:51

Liv I am very Envy - that beach looks A.mazing!

Sympathy for last night Buck, It sounds grim. Hopefully it was a one off caused by the combination of the heat, teething and general excitement. We didn't have a great night (nowhere near as bad as yours sounded though), and I'm putting it down to the heat. Our house is BOILING. Urgh.

JustKeepSwimming · 01/08/2011 12:12

Less said about a late night teenage encounter with a marine on Guersney the best Blush Grin
went to Herm once. loved it.

M went 8-5, then to 8. I struggled to get back to sleep as too hot though. want the nice weather until it gets here Hmm
DH & DS1 at sailing club this week so got my hands full with 2 DC and their washing & them rocking in knackered late all night, fun...for them i hope!

Another vote for Expedit, we've got the 5x5 unit, fab.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/08/2011 14:44

Another one here with beach envy Liv. I can't believe the film won't be shot on the island Shock, the island is as much a part of the story as the characters.

Phew,it is hot today, luckily there's a breeze.

We've just all got back from a play date. Ds2 had a whale of a time but fell asleep on the way home so now won't nap in his cot, gggrrr. Baby I seems to want to fight sleep every inch of the way today, so I'm getting tired, hot and grouchy and just wish everyone would go the f**k to sleep Blush

I hope today is better for you Buck.

Tell us more about the Marine and Guernsey JKS Wink

I wants feeding again, Lordy he is permanently attached when it's hot, and we both end up in a right sweaty mess.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/08/2011 15:09

Sweaty mess here too. T is constantly attached to me, DS1 is feeling left out so he wants to come and cuddle too which is just making us all hotter. I am sooooo hot, and soooo tired and I just wish they would both sleep so that I can go to bed.

Poo in the potty today - yay!

Wee on the floor, twice. Not so yay.

JustKeepSwimming · 01/08/2011 16:19

Purely to distract you all from being too hot (dd attached too):

School hockey tour.
Team decide to find an alcoholic drink i like, as i didn't drink back then
(was only 17, shh!)
Discovered Archers & lemonade Grin
In nightclub, Marine chats me up, suggests a walk..
(rest of team got bollocked for letting me go off with him)
He suggests visiting his ship (waving into the darkness from the shore 'out there' somewhere)
Luckily i had enough sense to turn down his offer.
Wandered around lost trying to find b&b for some time.
He tried to climb into upstairs window as was all locked up.
Teacher opens front door...

Turns out teacher had reported me missing to the police (who on finding out i was 17 & on a night out said "give it til the morning she'll turn up mate")
so bizarrely demanded 20p off me to use the payphone again to report me 'found' Hmm

Provided plenty of entertainment on our return to school Blush

LisMcA · 01/08/2011 16:32

back empty handed from Ikea - Was looking at the Expedit online and decided thats what I wanted, but DH & I couldn't agree on what to get. I wanted the 2x4 to use as a TV unit, get rid of the one we currently have, DH wanted the 1x5 and add it to the unit we already have. Was so pissed off we just came home without even going round the market. Now we are home, DH has agreed to get the 2x4, but to put it on the short end next to the TV unit. So will have to go back now! DH needs to realise that I am usually right when it comes to furnishing and he just needs to trust me!

chillikat · 01/08/2011 16:37

Brilliant about the feeding Lis :)

Love your story JKS - I went 'missing' on a school ski trip once - I was watching a footie match with some other school party who had better TV coverage in their hotel.

We had a lovely weekend despite M deciding naps are for wusses and getting grouchy. Fortunately when she has slept it's been for good long stretches - 2 nights of 6 hours, followed by 4 hours :)

BuckminsterFullerene · 01/08/2011 17:03

afternoon all.

Love the story JKS!

I hate to say it but it's not as hot here. Much cooler than last night, but overcast & v muggy.

Today is much better than last night. All the rellies (to steal a word from neighbours) have gone and we had some of F's friends over this avo. He's done loads of tummy time, and he's settled himself for all his naps too.

Fingers crossed for tonight.
