I was just goon say, let's hope FW can take a leaf out of ds1's book! Wink
Good for your ds1 though, that's great. Good for him.

My bro and his girlfriend came over yesterday and told me, I'm gonna be an auntie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin
She's 8 weeks now and has her first mw appointment on monday.
My parents are happy for my bro but are a bit concerned because him and his gf are both living at my mum's so ideally they'd prefer them to have waited until they were a bit more settled.
She wants to move back to scotland (she moved down here a year ago to be with my bro), think she wants to be around her family plus it's cheaper up there.
I'm a bit nervous about how my bro would cope that far away from his mum, but now he's gonna be a Dad, he'll have to let go of those apron strings!

Back of to the gp today. She won't be able to do another smear because I'm on now, but omg it is so heavy and so painful! I haven't had a period like this for years. I am changing a super pad every 1.5 hrs and wearing 3 pads to bed plus sleeping on a towel, but have had to change my trousers at least once a night for the past 3 nights.
I always had very very heavy periods as a teen, but they seemed to calm down a bit when I hit my 20's. Hope this is a 1 off bad one and they don't get back to that all the time.
This is why my mum had all her bits removed, because her periods were awful.

Hello lovely ladies - just hoping on v quickly to say am back from Wales - lovely country but no mobile/Internet where we were staying. Will post propeqrly later but huge hugs to SM (it's good you got J's leg checked out and he will be fine - these things happen as kids grow up), more hugs to Stillontheline (have missed you Missus), hope Ds returned unscathed from camping Calico and MoS - well done your Ds1. Sounds abit like Dh Is going through a major midlife crisis - 2 sports cars! - hopefully he'll come back to his senses soon. Right at Mils and off to take boys to beach now so back on later. X

Hi ladies, up north at mils. Posting from phone is not easy! Far too hi tech. Mos - well done dsq. Congrats on auntie status Sm. Hope Wales was dry dimly!

Calico1 · 09/08/2011 09:55

Hope everyone in London is ok?.....looks crazy out there. I have a good friend living in Tottenham and she is terrified.

How was Wales Dinky?

MOS I'm amazed at your DS getting up and out of the house at that time in the morning! Sorry to hear that your (D)H is being a loon.

SM how exciting about your SIL, there's nothing like a deadline to get domestic situations sorted too!

I have just made a big batch of beetroot soup - it's very, very pink! Maybe Lilian will like it for lunch.....

dinkystinky · 09/08/2011 11:14

Hello all - Been watching the stuff on the riots on the news. A bloody good week to be out of London methinks! Cant believe all the rubbish that is going down. SM meant to say congrats on becoming an auntie - lovely news. Wales was lovely Calico - there with 2 lots of mates with their kids (a 5 year old, 3 year old and 2 year old) so DS1 and Danny had lots of little friends to scrap play with. One rainy day but the others bright and warm enough so we got some castle action, walks, pub and playground and canoeing trips in. Danny loved the canoe! Now at MILS while poor DH is at work in London - had a busy day in Brighton yesterday and pesky Danny has been up from 4.45 today for some reason so having a v quiet one today. Quite windy today so reckon may go to Devil's Dyke to fly a kite for our post nap (for all of us!) outing today.

Found you!! Just marking my place until lunchtime when I can have a proper read and, who knows, maybe actually post something!

SweetTalkinWoman · 09/08/2011 14:23

So how are you all? It's been ages. Sorry to hear that Corums fields is off but hopefully we can rearrange something else soon. I'm not going to mention the riots as that's all we've spoken about in the office today.

I hope everyone is well. Anyone going on summer hols? No holiday for me for the 4th year running... Had to buy a new car instead this year. DH however is going off mountain biking in Whistler this weekend. I'm a mug, but he's been working hard, and he loves it. We'll all be happy if he's happy!

So, lots of stuff going on for me (none of it very interesting for anyone else!). DD has been allocated a place in a special school in Surbiton. At first it was quite upsetting because we knew it was a school for children with very complex needs and severe learning difficulties, so to be advised she should go there was quite a big deal. Lots of visits and meetings and now we're very happy about it (well, I wish she didn't need it) and think she'll do really well there. Trying to sort out new childcare arrangements which is proving hard. The plan is I give up my job in Feb when the person I jobshare with retires. Then I get carer's allowance and work an evening or two a week. I can't wait! Long term plan is to put all my autism knowledge, makaton, PECS etc and become a special needs TA. SM - I'll have to get some tips from you.

Sam is a huge amount of fun - very cheeky and always pushing boundaries - but appears to be normal, which is a huge relief! He is still a really crap sleeper though. HAve tried everything, but after 2 1/2 years maybe I should just accept it.

That was all me me me, but there's just so much to catch up on! Will dip in and out all afternoon if I can.

SummerRain · 09/08/2011 18:10

o bugger Blush

I lost ye for a wee while there... sorry!

haven't time to read through now but will do later.

missed you guys!

SilveryMoon · 09/08/2011 19:06

SR Grin We were starting to worry! How are you?

SummerRain · 09/08/2011 19:10

ok, have skimmed so hopefully I haven't missed anything too important.

mos... i like the new name, hope you're all settling in ok back home now.... must be one hell of a culture shock!

MS... you're making me feel broody and I definitely don't want any more! Hope it all goes well for you and definitely tell us all on here, it's lovely hearing about your pregnancy Smile

Potty training is a no go here, he loves wearing big boy knickers and tells me as soon as he's peed in them but has no notion of using the potty. Not too worried though, ds1 was almost 3 and it went easily enough once he was ready.

He got his statement of need a couple of weeks ago so we're going full force with SALT and sign language training. His SALT reckons it's verbal dyspraxia and now that he's finally willing to interact with her she' had a bit more success assessing him properly and said his language skills are definitely high average for his age so it's definitely just a problem with making the right sounds when he needs them.

He's booked in for playschool in Sept but it's highly unlikely he'll let me leave him there (despite loving the idea of going) so it'll be a while before he attends I'd say. His social skills are still a complete disaster and his temper tantrums are going from bad to worse!

we had ds1's birthday last week... 30 odd kids and two bouncy castles, which went surprisingly well but i've been bogged under since then catching up with course work. I passed one of my modules though, 84% which is great and just have my final assessment to go on the other one. I have two starting in the autumn though and another in Feb so things will get even heavier going soon.

SummerRain · 09/08/2011 19:11

SM... I've barely been on MN and didn't notice when the thread fell off my threads I'm on Blush... I'm good though, stressed, broke and tired but nothing new there!

What's this about a new job?

littlesez · 10/08/2011 10:13

hellllllllllllllllllooooooooooo! Hope your all ok. I have been doing extra hours at work and greenabubs is really taking off. I live on cloth nappy tree as its good for business but miss chatting here!

Got a house move on the cards soon too so life is hectic. Izzy has stopped breast feeding! hurrah I thought i would be feedign a 5 year old tbh. But since then she has been a bit of a nightmare :( aww no i take that back she has been a little challenging!

riots on in manchester last night told dh to get his arse home from work and just close for the night so he did!

off to catch up ........

MrsY · 13/08/2011 21:25

Hi chaps. Am I allowed back? Blush

swampster · 13/08/2011 23:00

And me? Grin

Calico1 · 14/08/2011 16:26

Ooh - good to see some old faces back! Hello MrsY, Littlesez, SR and STW, Swampy - we know you are lurking there anyway Grin

Having a rare childfree day today - I am doing my tax return (so dull) and of course catching up on MN, DH is unsuccessfully negotiating with the DCs whilst they run riot around the garden throwing stuff over the hedge. I can see / hear them but I'm not getting involved......until at least 6pm.

What's everyone up to?

I had a lovely day yesterday at Waddesdon Manor with a group of friends and about 13 little ones - it was great for them to run around like mad things in the fab gardens and great for us to have a picnic and a chat. It was almost relaxing.

MrsY · 14/08/2011 19:01

Hi Calico! I love it when I'm doing something and hear J with madam, especially when it sounds like she's running him ragged!

We had some friends round for lunch, for which I served pork with the most unsuccessfull crackling ever! Then off to the park, home via the ice-cream man, madam had a nice sleep and J and I spent two hours re-arranging furniture in the sitting room. We have a modular corner sofa and I wanted to take one module out and use it as a chair, creating room at one end of the sofa for a coffee table so I can have a lamp on it for sewing/knitting. I actually recoiled when we seperated the pieces of the sofa and saw what was living there! Eeeuwch doesn't begin to describe it! I made J promise that we'll take all the pieces apart once every 6/7 weeks and disinfect it all!

This week we will mostly be preparing for the wedding of the centuary, aka BIL's wedding, which is on Saturday and I feel like is taking over my entire life. J is going straight to his parent's place on Thursday night, and then we won't see him 'till we get to the church on Saturday (so he can look after his brother Hmm), and then we are at the PIL's for a BBQ on Sunday. I am looking forward to it, but only so it'll be over!

At least it means I'm only working one day this week Grin.

oooggs · 14/08/2011 20:13

we are home - much easier to post from the pc Wink

dinkystinky · 14/08/2011 20:18

Ah, huge hugs to Littlesez, SR, MrsY and STW - lovely to see you all back on the board and to hear what's going on with you. STW - hope life while DH is away isnt too stressful. O's new school sounds brilliant. So sorry S is still not sleeping - your longterm plan sounds really good though! Littlesez - glad your DH was ok during the riots: hope the housemove goes smoothly. SR - lovely to see you and hear about A, Danny's spiritual twin - I'm more or less resigned to Danny needing speech therapy at some point as his speaking is really only intelligible to me, DH and our nanny as we know him so well. Its great that you've got the statement of need and all the support - A's communication is bound to come on in leaps and bounds now. And hope playschool goes well - there would be no way Danny would let us leave him at playschool now either but by September 2012 he should just about be ready... I hope. Calico - sounds like you had a really lovely day. Where is Waddesdon Manor? And how did DS and DH's camping trip go? MrsY - hope the wedding of the century goes well Grin I have my sisters wedding - well weddings (civil ceremony, catholic blessing then hindu blessing) - in September and am steeling myself for it already. DS1 is going to give my sister away at the hindu ceremony - he's so excited already! Am currently steeling myself to go back to work tomorrow - it is stupidly crazily busy there at the moment so really not looking forward to it.

Morning all.
Good to see you MrsY Calico swampy.

I have my ultrasound today because they haven't managed to getanother smear yet. Am a bit nervous.

Luke had me up at 5:30 this morning. Not happy!

MrsY · 15/08/2011 08:35

Sure it will be fine, SM, what time's the appointment?

dinkystinky · 15/08/2011 09:55

Keeping my fingers crossed for you SM.

OP posts:
SilveryMoon · 15/08/2011 12:06

Thanks.
I'm back from the appointment now. All was fine, she said it looked ok so just have to wait to see what the gp wants to do now.

MarkStretch · 15/08/2011 17:19

Hellloooooo!

I had my 20 week scan today. Baby was being very awkward and lying with it's face in the placenta and I hadn't drunk enough water so they made me leave and go back again 15 mins later. They told me to drink as much water as I could which I did and then I went back in for another look. Saw little face, two little feet, waving hands and arms and we saw it yawning!

We didn't find out what it is this time, I managed to convince DH that as this is our last one we would opt for a surprise so we will have to wait and see! DH convinced that it looks nothing like FS so he says a girl. We took DD with us so she got to watch the scan and says she saw most of it quite clearly..

I will catch up with the thread now, I was reading through all our old posts the other night and feeling all nostalgic about us all getting ready to pop.

SilveryMoon · 15/08/2011 17:28

aaawwwww MS Glad all is well with bump. Smile

SummerRain · 15/08/2011 22:50

MS Grin so sweet! Having a surprise is lovely, and tell your dh looks are no indication, dd and A are the spit of each other facially in this house and have been since day one. The only way you can be sure whose baby photo you're looking at is whether there's a dress or not!

Dinky, a wedding in three parts sounds like a very long weekend! So cute that ds1 gets to give her away though Smile

SM... Glad the ultrasound was clear but sorry you haven't got an answer yet. I'm delaying going to the doc about mine, they've gone haywire since last october.

Dd managed to crash her bike into a concrete post this morning and split her head open. Only one stitch needed thankfully and no concussion but the poor thing had to miss football and couldn't go to her best friends house which she'd been excited about all weekend so she's not a happy bunny
