bumps hope your little madam took her galviscon in the end, little minx.
How are you doing now?

Am still fuming at 'friend' have now sent two messages to her. First on friday saying not a problem, we'll try to sort it out/juggle etc and one yesterday am saying I really need to know if I need to book hotel for 2/4/6 days as prices are going up by the hour. I can't believe she hasn't responded to my messages. I know she has been on FB as she has been happily buying cows and trees or whatever on bloody farmsville. Her not replying is really starting to piss me off now. DH has spent a fortune on flights and we really need to know what is happening! Angry

How/where is everyone else x

bumpsnowjustplump · 17/01/2012 19:59

MOS that is so out of order, do you think she is doing it because she cant put you up anymore and she feels bad?

Can you afford a hotel for the whole trip? Is it somewhere you can have a nice holiday?

DD2 is taking her gaviscon and it is really settling her she slept from 11 till 6 last night.. yay...

SilveryMoon · 18/01/2012 19:23

MS Just read your post about Ivy's birth. Lovely. So pleased it all went well and you were both home for Christmas morning.
bumps Sad hpw horrific for you all. Glad everything is ok now and dd is well. Must have been very frightening.

Everything's ok here. Nothing to report.
Luke is obsessed with Cbeebies. No particular program, all of them. He throws the biggest wobblers when I turn the channel or turn the tv off.

MOSagain · 19/01/2012 08:06

bumps 11pm to 6am! Shock even H has never done that. The last few weeks he has been awful, coming in every night and insisting on sleeping between DH and I. Its getting earlier and earlier, last few nights around midnight. Don't think I've ever been so tired.

Friend finally got in touch. Apparently she wasn't well and her DH was ill too. Of course she got in touch AFTER I'd booked a hotel for half the the stay. To be honest, will work out ok. We will stay with her first three days/nights then go to hotel for a few days on beach/by pool. She admitted her house isn't really child friendly so would be really stressful staying there too long, particularly as she will be working for a few days. Would rather be where kids can play and have fun rather than stuck in a villa where we are too scared to touch anything!

SM good to see you, you've been missed Grin

bumpsnowjustplump · 19/01/2012 10:15

Morning all, SM DS is obsesed with Cbeebies as well I am very guilty of using the TV as a babysitter when he was little though so my own fault. His favorite is octonault.

MOS glad things are sorted with your friend it was very naughty of her though and she should not have let you book the flights if she didn't want the children at her house how rude.

DD2 is getting much better now. She is on Gaviscon for reflux which seems to help but also took her to Osteopath yesterday and my word is she more relaxed since. She has lots of problems it seems from birth and where her lungs collapsed and she obviously has been in a lot of pain. She will need about 3-4 sessions he thinks.

He started her treatment and releived a lot of preasure in her tummy and neck, and for the first time since she came out of hospital there was no screaming last night and no fussing. Usually she is upset from 6 till about midnight. All she would do was cry want to feed go on for a few mins then pull off and scream. Last night she fed at 7 slept till 9 fed then slept until 4.30. I am totally amazed and delighted! She is still in pain when feeding on her left side (so my right bood) and very unsettled but hope to sort all it out in future visits. She has various other problems that he believes he can put right so all in all i am very impressed.

Wish I had gone weeks ago rather than just putting it down to colic, poor baby.

SilveryMoon · 19/01/2012 17:52

bumps Glad to hear the osteopath session helped.
Ds1 had reflux, was awful, you have my sympathy. He was put on gaviscon for a few weeks but then moved on to a prescription formula.
I'm not sure what Luke's favourite cbeebies program is, but I too use/d the tv an awful lot, far too much, but hey, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
The boys can both be without the tv, so am trying not to turn it straight on when we get in, but have to put it straight on in the mornings.

oooggs · 19/01/2012 20:34

My fab febber is 3 tomorrow, wow time has flown by really and I have been chatting to you lovely ladies for years now!!

swampster · 19/01/2012 23:50

Hello, I'm here for the three-year check-in.

What a horrible time you've had, bumps. Hope it's all good from now on and you can relax and enjoy your lovely new bundle.

What a disingenuous friend you have, MOS.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow, ooogslet.

Please talk to me about parties / party games / party bags for three-year-olds. I know I've been here twice before but I really don't feel up to it.

Happy Birthday to all our lovely Fab Febbers in the weeks ahead.

dinkystinky · 20/01/2012 17:31

Happy birthday to L Oooggs - hope he had a fabulous birthday!

Bumps - SO pleased the osteopath helped. Doesnt look like much but really helps your little one immensely: massively helped DS1 after a traumatic birth and also helped Danny with his reflux like issues. If you had a difficult birth (prolonged pushing etc) or are in any pain post birth I'd really recommend you havea couple of sessions too.

MoS - hmm, I'd be v pissed off with friend if she said oh I've invited you but I have a friend here, I'm off working and the house is not suitable for kids... Hope you have an excellent time at the hotel and beach.

Swampy - we are having a tinga tinga party with animal themed games. Pass the monkey (instead of parcel). Pin the tail on the lion. And, of course, Sleeping Lions... Party bags will consist of haribo, balloon and a piece of Tinga Tinga cake.

oooggs · 20/01/2012 22:26

Dinky the party sounds fab

Luke has had a fab day and is happy he is 3!!!!

I am shattered and now the dts are planning theirs at the end of march!

SummerRain · 21/01/2012 11:01

I have dd's to get through this week before I even think about A's. Luckily I had tonnes of clubcard vouchers saved up so we got her a 3DS for next to nothing and she wants to go to the cinema with her bf instead of a party. More to the point though.... how the hell did 7 years go that fast?!?!

A won't be having a party, he hates them and isn't overly fond of other children so would be somewhat pointless Grin We're getting him a LeapPad as he loves techy stuff and I think he'd really enjoy it.

Can't believe the firt fab feb baby is 3 already Shock It seems like no time ago we were all fat and uncomfortable waiting for them to start appearing!

Happy birthday for yesterday Oooggs' Luke Grin

SummerRain · 21/01/2012 11:01

sorry, spell check fail in my excitement Blush

MOSagain · 21/01/2012 12:18

dinky how the hell do you play pass the monkey? Hmm

Can't believe our babies are 3 Shock
H's party is on Saturday 4th. No idea how many coming yet. He goes to nursery 2 days a week so they gave me a list of about 10 of his friends who we invited via them and so far only 2 have arrived. Have invited a few of DD's friend's siblings and of course a few of her friends will come. Do wish we had a better idea on numbers so we knew what was happening.

I was going to do a Thomas themed party. Am making a train cake so will do blue icing for it and had a whole box of thomas plates and napkins etc but just realised it seems to have vanished. we recently had to clear out our garage as we are having some work done and needed access so a lot of stuff is in short term storage. DH was on strict instructions to only take certain stuff but hey ho. Probably makes sense to buy more rather than him go to the storage place and bring all the wrong stuff back then get angry Grin

Have an entertainer coming for first hour to do games. He goes to something called Music Bus every week and the Music bus lady is doing it. Songs and games etc. We then will feed the little darlings and then maybe a few more party games for the 2nd hour. Having to hire a local hall to do it as outside of house a building site still.

Any suggestions on easy party games?

SilveryMoon · 21/01/2012 12:37

oooggs big happy birthday to L Grin
Can't believe we are here at more birthdays again already! Seems only yesterday we were all stressing to what to buy for our 2yos.

My Luke won't be having a party this year. I did a bit of googling this morning to local things, but all quite expensive and we're still trying to pay off rent areas, my credit card and store cards, plus an overpayment from child tax credits and we owe my mum money for the boiler she paid to have fitted.
We'll just have a few close friends round here in the afternoon.
It's also my friend's birthday that day (Feb 4th) and she has invited me out to a place in Covent Garden in the evening.
Really want to go and Luke will be in bed in the evening, so there's no reason I can't go is there?????????

dinkystinky · 21/01/2012 14:44

Glad L had a good birthday Oooggs. SR - A will love the leap pad, Danny is obsessed with DS1's! MOS - you play pass the parcel with an inflatable monkey instead of a parcel and the kid it stops with has to pretend to be a monkey then do a lucky dip. Took Danny to a hip pop dance class today - he was really good and love love loved it. SM - L will love having a few friends round. We are doing Danny's at home this year and only having family and a few friends ove (as due to a fuck up by accts at work I suddenly owe mr taxman ££££s by end of Jan so Feb is going to be a pretty lean month) but he'll love it - he just wants a tinga tinga party - doesn't care where or the size thank god. And definitely do go out in the evening - you deserve to in remembrance of the great job you had delivering L 3 years ago!

Ps MoS I would do musical games - musical statues, musical bumps and sleeping lions to finish off!

Calico1 · 23/01/2012 20:33

Hi all - I'm wondering if I can get away without a kids party for Lilian this year....she'll not notice unless DS pipes up. He's already planning his 5th birthday party on March....
I might just do a cake and get the parents and in-laws over for a little tea party instead.

Dinky I feel your tax pain.....my tax bill is due too and I'm hiding my head in the sand about it.

dinkystinky · 24/01/2012 10:25

Calico - I reckon you could get away with it! Does L have any really good little friends at nursery? Perhaps you could invite one or two to her birthday tea too (which she might like)?

OP posts:
Calico1 · 25/01/2012 10:33

That's a good idea Dinky - though the only person Lilian ever mentions is the chap who does football lessons with them once a week - I think she has a crush on him! Not sure I'd want the footy coach at the birthday tea Grin

dinkystinky · 25/01/2012 11:14

Lol at Lillian. Danny is also a big fan of Coach Marcel, his footie coach - though he mostly wants to invite only DS1's friends to his party. Sigh.

SilveryMoon · 28/01/2012 19:42

I was going to do a party for Luke this year, now that I'm working and there's a bit more money around, but i forgot to organise anything Blush
I've just invited my parents round and we'll have some lunch, give pressies and do a cake. Then I am off out in the evening (mother of the year award)

SummerRain · 29/01/2012 14:55

SM.... trust me, parties are overrated! Stressful for parents and tbh, i'm never convinced the kids enjoy them that much either what with the hyperness and over excitement. Especially at this time of year when they can't go outside and wear it off out there.

DD chose not to have one this year (Hallelujah!) so I brought her to the cinema yesterday with ds1 and her best friend which she loved.

I would have found it easier too apart from the fact that I burst a tyre on the way home, was passing another car on a narrow road and something in the verge buckled the rim and slashed the tyre to bits. I was on back roads so it took dp an hour to find us, none of our wrenches fit the wheel nuts (new car, well not new but new to us!) so I had to drive 4 children (he had A with him) back to our village in a 4 seater car to drop dd's bf home (30 mins in the mist and rain on back roads with 3 children in 2 seatbelts in the back and one up front is not to be recommended!).

I then obviously had to go back and get dp who'd given up trying to fix it and no-one would stop to help (friendly country people my arse!). His car was running on fumes so we dashed into town and got petrol and pizza and went home to sort the kids out. We had them in pjs when my fabulous friend's husband called round with a wheel brace (I take back my statement about country people, I asked if I could call round to get it from him and 5 minutes later he turned up on our doorstep to save us the trouble) We decided it would be better to just get it sorted as the car was abandoned outside someone's house so threw kids in car (still doubled up in seatbelts) with blankets and DS's and drove back out. Took us an hour in the pouring rain and 3 jacks, a tripod stand and 2 spare tyres to prop stuff up due to the shitty angle of the car and the gravel we were on. By the time we got both cars home we were soaked to the bone, filthy and it was midnight.

The killer is; that's our third flat tyre in 2 weeks Shock My focus had a flat a couple of weeks back and we switched it for the emergency tyre and had it repaired. However dp lost the lug nut key so we couldn't put it back on... mechanic says it'll have to be forcibly removed, which would be fine, except now the other front tyre is flat so we can't drive it down to him

oooggs · 30/01/2012 18:59

Lukes party was very simple, more an entertain yourselves and timed so the older siblings were at school Wink

However dts 5th birthday in March they are having a proper party, but I am organised I think
