Dinky did you have to draw the lost eyebrow back in? Xmas Grin

Calico1 · 13/12/2011 20:24

oooggs - love 'ice crumbs'!

drinkystinkyyuletidegubbins · 14/12/2011 14:33

Oooggs that's so cute! Have a fab holiday - am v v Xmas Envy

Calico - yup, have been pencilling in every day this week. And as no one has noticed so far, am clearly doing a good job - may jack in this law lark and become a make up artiste Xmas Grin

drinkystinkyyuletidegubbins · 14/12/2011 15:03

Hurrah, Nigella answered my question on the webchat so now have a suggestion for a nonpork based stuffing for christmas day. Phew...

MOSagain · 14/12/2011 18:35

oooggs where are you off to? Is it Florida? Xmas Envy

oooggs · 14/12/2011 21:26

yes it is MOS Grin seems ages ago I was asking you questions about it!!!!!!!!!

MOSagain · 15/12/2011 07:55

Xmas Envy we keep talking about going but don't seem to find a good time. Now DD is at school we are stuck with school hols and she seems to have different ones to DC1 and 2! We were hoping to go in the summer for a few weeks but flights are silly money, around 5k for flights alone Xmas Sad

Hope you have a fabulous time. If you/DH are into cars and bikes check out Old Town (off 192) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, a good night for all the family. Lots of unique little shops and fairground rides for kids and a good mini golf next door.

drinkystinkyyuletidegubbins · 15/12/2011 11:19

MOS - DD is only in year 1 - it may be your school is abit more flexible about letting you fly out during term time as a result (especially at the end of the school year). Worth asking about.

Have a really brilliant time Oooggs!

Calico1 · 15/12/2011 22:57

oooggs very Envy especially as it looks like a snow / sleet storm is heading our way tomorrow.

MOS DS's school have guidelines on taking family hols out of school time. It seems that as long as it is not more than 10 days in a year and you fill in a form to tell them when child is not going to be in school, then they are very likely to approve the absence - unless the child already has a history of unexplained lateness / absence from school. Seems pretty fair. I think most schools have a reasonable attitude as long as you are straight with them.

I tried to get Lilian's hair cut today - so far she has been pretty compliant at the hairdresser but today I had my hair cut first and when it was her turn she refused to let the hairdresser anywhere near her and said that my hair 'looked horrid, like swishy, swashy grass'! Hmm Might not use that hairdresser again...

drinkystinkyyuletidegubbins · 16/12/2011 09:58

Lol at Lilian the fashionista Xmas Grin Did you like your new haircut till then Calico?

drinkystinkyyuletidegubbins · 16/12/2011 09:59

Danny made a reindeer mask at a playgroup he went to earlier in the week - when I got home last night he put it on and was Rudolph and DS1 put on a big hat and was santa and they went off to deliver presents to the good girls and boys. It was very cute Xmas Grin

SantaAteAllTheBiscuits · 16/12/2011 19:25

SNOW!

well, there was, we have slush now.

Perfect day for it though, Santa was visiting the playschool and I brought A along (he screamed hysterically and tried to drag me away from the big scary man in the red suit but accepted his present happily enough Xmas Hmm and we walked home in the snow and fed the horses in the field next door. It was lovely Xmas Grin

Got our Christmas tree too.... miserable thing that it is but the trees suffered badly from the terrible summer we had over here so it was the best of a bad bunch.... looking forward to spending the evening decorating it now Xmas Smile

calico.... Xmas Grin at Lilian, harsh critics at this age aren't they?!

Calico1 · 18/12/2011 12:05

I got my own back at Lilian - I cut her hair myself. It is now a very short bob!

SantaAteAllTheBiscuits · 18/12/2011 12:25

Xmas Grin calico.

I always do dd's myself, it's easy with girls, not brave enough to try doing the boys myself though!

Calico1 · 18/12/2011 22:26

I've always done DS's hair - I bought some electric clippers and it is really easy to do and very satisfying. Lilian's hair is super fine and very straight so pretty easy to see mistakes when you are cutting it - hence the very short style she has ended up with Xmas Grin

MOSagain · 19/12/2011 07:15

hello all, just popping in to say hello. Where is everyone?

drinkystinkyyuletidegubbins · 19/12/2011 09:10

Ah, the toasted sandwich diet. I remember that well from my uni days. That and living on pasta... Glad all are home safely MOS and you're ready for xmas. How's the back doing?

SM not on here much but she's on facebook alot I think. Or at least I always see recent posts from her on there when I periodically log in to FB.

We had a nice weekend - got tree at silly o'clock on Saturday (not helped by the fact it was my firm's xmas party on Friday so got in at 2 and up, v hungover, 5 hours later) and decorated it with the boys then off to Danny's gymboree xmas party and food shop, then home for lunch and out again to go see Santa at Selfridges (which was good - but god oxford street was INSANE) and dinner out at Wags (at which point my hangover finally lifted) and amble home. Yesterday was baking cookies with Danny and Twinkle Twonkle, pre-xmas family theatre show, at the Roundhouse which was fun - and lots of sorting out the house in readiness for family descending at xmas - thankfully with no hangover this time. I really am getting far too old to drink my bodyweight in wine and tequila...

MOSagain · 24/12/2011 07:13

hello, exciting news, a new Fab Feb baby Grin
Also, another friend of mine finally had her baby late last nigth which was fab news as she was induced on Tuesday and was starting to think the baby would never come. She has a DD my DD(2)'s age and just had a little boy so very happy for her.

Hope everyone is all set for Christmas. We are almost there. Picking up turkey and trimmings from M & S at 8.30am. DS1 and I are going to run the gauntlet (elbow everyone else out of the way) and DH dropping us off and picking us up so hopefully won't be too bad.

Hopefully DCS1, DD1 and I will escape tonight and go to midnight mass (although for some bizarre reason it is at 10pm) can't wait. Will give DC3 and 4 some pressies tonight, new PJs a dvd and book and hopefully that will keep them happy for a few hours.

SilveryMoon · 24/12/2011 15:46

Merry Christmas everyone.
I am getting so excited now! Can't wait for the boys to go to bed so I can get the wine and wrapping paper out.
This is the first year they are having stockings by their bed too.

Hope everyone has a fab day. Xmas Grin

MOSagain · 24/12/2011 16:28

Yeah right, get the wine out! Knowing you its been out since breakfast time! We are just debating where to put stockings. Finally cleared out conservatory/toy room last night so there is actually a floor that has not been seen since Margaret Thatcher was in power (before your time SM) so might have them hanging up in there. For some reason, the two teenagers who don't normally surface until midday want to get up early for stockings

Have a fabulous time x

SilveryMoon · 24/12/2011 16:42

Lol MOS The wine has not been out since breakfast, I have been very good, just because I plan to get it out at breakfast tomorrow Xmas Wink
Oh, and FYI, I do know who Margaret Thatcher is, I do remember her in power and I do remember when the free milk was stopped Xmas Grin Xmas Wink
Before my time, I was always old before my years.

SantaAteAllTheBiscuits · 24/12/2011 17:05

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Xmas Grin

3 very excited children here tracking Santy on NORAD Xmas Grin

Still haven't cleaned the living room Xmas Blush but for the first year ever have all the presents wrapped/assembled/batterised so should have plenty of time this evening Xmas Wink

MOSagain · 24/12/2011 17:09

SR we've just been tracking santa too Xmas Grin
Off to midnight mass at 10pm Hmm
