Simplyred · 28/12/2005 14:54

Ahhhhh Alice looks soooo cute

bubbles2904 · 28/12/2005 15:25

hi everyone, sorry not been here for a while. not feeling christmassy anymore so have gone back to my original name. Hope everyone had a lovely day, unfortunaetly Mia's 1st christmas was tainted, xmas day was lovely but our neighbour was found dead on xmas eve and they've gone to his house to discover his wife had been strangled on xmas eve whilst i was all excited in my xmas bubble, and they think it was him that did it, so not a great 1 here.
SIMPLYRED, not sad, i did it yesterday morning at next too, at 6am on my own and got dd1 some new stuff and all mia's 6-9months wardrobe. even bought 3 xmas pressies today for next year, it can only get better. alice looks lovely too

Simplyred · 28/12/2005 19:12

Hello Bubbles and LadyL.

Glad I'm not the only one who buys clothes in advance - I did this for ds too - I saved alot of money and he always had nice clothes. I can hardly wait till next Christmas to see Rachel in her outfits!!! I bought her summer06 clothes in the sales at the end of summer (some before she was born!) I'd would have had a shock if she'd been a boy!!!!

Anyone doing anything exciting for new year?

Are you losing weight in the new year LadyL? - My diet has started today!

mummyhill · 29/12/2005 08:34

Bubbles - Thats really why do people do such things?

My diet starts on the 1st, can't see the point in starting early as there is still loads of nibbly bits in the cupboard for new years.

I find NYE a bit depressing as it seems to come faster each year especially since having the children and it just seems to mean that they are growing up way to quickly. However it also means a fresh start and our luck has to change some time so on that note next year can only get better!!

LoveMyGirls · 29/12/2005 08:44

hello everyone. we had a good christmas and we are going to have a quiet new year just me 2 of my best friends and my dp which will be nice but i feel a bit sad about it when i think back to last year, its great that this time last year i was so excited that we were going to try for a baby and im so glad she's here but i feel sad that i dont look like i did last year (that sounds so shallow doesnt it)
im probably just having a bit of a down day, this morning when i got up i just felt overwhelmed with exhaustion and felt that i needed a few days in bed, even though my mum took the kids for a few hours yesterday so i got a couple of hours sleep then.

is anyone else wondering when they will get a full nights sleep and stop feeling like a complete zombie? any one got any tips on how to cope with a 6yr old and a baby?

Simplyred · 29/12/2005 09:14

Morning

Have woken up feeling tired today & need to tidy up. Hope to put Rachel in her own room tonight - so need to de-clutter her room! Take care everyone - My diet when wrong last night with some triffle! will start proper on 1st Jan!!

LoveMyGirls · 29/12/2005 10:42

simply red sounds like your having a similar day to me, im tired and need to tidy up - need to do all the washing cause isnt there some sort of rule about doing washing on new years day? so best to get it all done out the way.

Simplyred · 29/12/2005 17:38

Hello!

So far have managed no cleaning - went shopping as I needed to swop both Mums christmas presents one too small and one too big! Also got more for Rachel! well off I go now to tidy!!!

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 29/12/2005 18:41

Hello All

How did your appointment go Mummyhill? Hope they were helpful

Hmmm I've been invited to a new years do but don't want to go... I used to be such a party animal - really sociable but I'd rather meet up with bumps and babies friends and other mums now. DP is supposed to be coming over but I've just been passed a message from Noop telling me DP's working Sat' but will try to escape early.

Noop's got a temperature - think she's in for a humdinger of a cold as she's got that sore skin feeling poor darling.

Conrad's doing great... he loves his sleep and it's the only time he gets really fractious when he wants to drop off but has worked himself into a bit of a frenzy... I just have to let him sort himself out sometimes, he'll paw and scratch at a boob and latch on and off if I try to nurse him quieter... Sorry LMG I've no hints or tips to help your babe sleep, I wish I had.

Bubbles, what a shocking experience, DP relates tales of the darker side of human nature but I live in a very rose-tinted world of my own. I just find it incomprehensible that people can let their selfish, jealous, controlling emotions get the better of them to the extent that they want to kill

I've only ventured to the sales once... I try to avoid the rudies out for a baarrgain Silly people! It's only shopping!

Pickasillychristmasname - Alice looks lovely! it's so sweet when they drift off like that my little man does this with his thumb firmly ensconced in his mouth! bless

Simplyred - hope you get a good nights sleep tonight xx

Better get on with my thankyous for pressies!

mummyhill · 29/12/2005 18:58

Hi cabe appointment was a bit of a washout with Nat been there but heyho maybe they will be a bit more sensible next time and come when she is at nursery.

Simplyred · 29/12/2005 21:38

Night night

Rachel's sleeping in her room - she's a big girl now!!

PickasillyChristmasName · 29/12/2005 22:26

Hope she has a nice long sleep (and so do you )

milwardmincepies · 29/12/2005 23:33

pickasilly - your dd looks lovely in her beautiful dress.
cabe - hope your dd doesn't come down with a cold for the new year. I avoid the sales if possible. There's so much stuff that I just don't need.
bubbles - what a terrible happening.

To all those tidying & cleaning - today finished the laundry from the xmas guests staying. Washing room full of towels & sheets drying.Did a clear up of the ground floor - now have the task of sorting out the kids rooms.....

Here dd4 (now 13 wks) had chicken pox over xmas. First spot on the 24th!! - waited for loads but only got two. No new ones have appeared so hoping it's over. DD3 had chicken pox about 2 wks before ds4. dd1 got a black eye on xmas eve when she knocked heads with another kid whilst on a bouncy castle!

best wishes to all xxx

milwardmincepies · 29/12/2005 23:37

oops - meant ds4 not dd4!!!

Simplyred · 30/12/2005 09:11

Rachel slept very well and I sort of did!

A washing room Milward - is it in your west wing! Glad ds seems to have had chicken pox lightly - hope thats it for illness in the Milward household.

Simplyred · 30/12/2005 14:06

I'm angry!

Just went to return a cardigan to Debenhams I bought for dd on Wednesday - its a little large and probably will not fit until late Spring/summer - so not very useful to have a padded red cardi then! Any way it was 50% off Jasper Conran - I have the receipt but they refused me a refund or credit vouchers as it was 50% off! I had to swop it for a top for ds that I didn't want. This types of customer services really gets my goat!!! Moan over

bubbles2904 · 30/12/2005 17:05

hi everyone, thanks for all the concern, all the police tape has gone now but i'm extremely jumpy. everytime the door goes i shit myself. it's really weird but when i saw all the police on boxing day i thought of your dp cabe and i kept going out to the poor guy on patrol overnight and giving him cups of tea. Hope you all got some lovely pressies. i'm going to my sil tomorrow for a party, pil for new years day dinner(last time we went there, we came home to find the police so i hope i won't get deja vu) and on monday we're going out with my friend, her dp and her dd, who is my dd1s cousin, and i'm so excited about that. So sorry everyones feeling fat, i'm feeling the opposite at the moment, my dp actually called me a waif yesterday LOL, 1 size 12-14 doesn't count as a waif does it?
Simplyred, sorry you couldn't get a refund, such a pain!!! i hate it when that happens. just watching two pints of lager and a packet of crisps, i love that show!!!!!

milwardmincepies · 30/12/2005 17:15

lol simplyred - no west wing here but my dh is watching the west wing series at the moment!! - there's hours of it!! Stupid refund policy. Why shops can't treat the customer well is beyond me.

bubbles - nice of you to take cups of tea out.

Here loads of snow & more coming. DDs were out on the sledge today with dh pulling them round the garden.

bubbles2904 · 30/12/2005 17:46

Milward, the poor man was about 33 and probably had a wife and children at home and instead of being with them he was stuck in my neighbourhood so it was the least i could do really. tbh, i wasn't asleep anyway, if anyone has ever had it happen near them, they'll understand what i mean, i've been a complete wreck since boxing day night, and have hardly eaten. went to get mia's pram from our spare front room and saw the postman walking towards the door, i hid and cried, it was awful. my dd1 was having nightmares but we've now told her the lady died in her sleep and the man was sad and couldn't live without her. she seems fine now and we're putting flowers down for them tomorrow.

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 30/12/2005 18:38

Bubbles - aren't you sweet... not surprised it's shaken you, there are awful crimes taking place and when it's so close it makes you feel very vulnerable I can imagine {{{Hugs}}} poppet, sounds like you've done well with dd1, telling her a more gentle story was a good idea

Milward about your snow! it's been miserable cold rain here all day and my starter-motor's gone caput so I've been under the bonnet for too much of it for my liking!

Simplyred - what about statutory rights? is this non return policy written anywhere? The big stores are just so greedy

Hope everyone else is fine - I'm just going for a nice soaky bath... I'm a bit chilled and grubby from todays endeavours x

Simplyred · 30/12/2005 19:11

bubbles2904 - hope things will feel better soon - did you know the couple? You just don't expect things like it so close to home.

Yes Cabe - it stated the new returns policy on the receipt -but I hadn't looked at it and its given after the event! - but I've calmed down now!

mummyhill · 30/12/2005 21:45

You'll like this, not a lot but you will like it.

The in laws have an aquarium and they also have three cats two of which are quite overweight. Said cats like to sit ontop of the aquarium hood as it is warm. We have been trying to convince fil for months now that it is perfectly safe as the hood is quite sturdy. However this evening we were proved wrong! As one of the feloines was getting down half of the hood collapsed and moggy was left hanging on to the edge of the tank for dear life thrashing his back paws trying to get a purchase on the glass. We managed to fish him out and dry him but dh has had to spend the last 1/2 hour mending and reinforcing the hood. Shouldn't really laugh but the sight of the cat half in and half out of the tank was the funniest thing I have seen in ages especially as he wasn't in any particular danger.

bubbles2904 · 31/12/2005 07:55

MUMMYHILL, god that story has really made me laugh, LOL
SIMPLYRED, i didn't know the couple very well, i've lived here for 2 years next week and probably seen them both around 6-7 times. i live very close to them too. The neighbour at the back of them has been spreading rumours about them saying they were always arguing, what a load of shit!!! i hate people who just want their 15 mins of fame. the police have issued a statement saying theres no evidence of domestic violence in the past. ha ha pissed on his bonfire!!! just shows though, anyone can snap.
CABE, i do try to be a sweetie.
So whats everyones plans for tonight? will i be the only one of us probably on here? LOL
