Best buy
Tummy tub bath. Nice and deep.Easy to fill and empty and can bath Tom hands-free. Good for his wind, and he loves sitting up. Also, bedside crib. Still plenty of room as he can spread onto my side of the bed a bit. Much more useful and stable than the moses basket we borrowed for Lucy. Can see him being in it for some time yet.

Worst buy
Graco swing - nothing wrong with it per se but rarely used. Also, the sheepskin I bought. Was sick on it first day. Washed, but never the same.

Hope you feel better soon PC

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 05/12/2005 16:25

Afternoon all sorry I am so late in posting today. Had a lovely morning at mums and tots my art activity (paperplate reindeer) went off without a hitch and so far 7 have signed up for the christmas party in a fortnights time. Going to be busy organising that one. Although I hope a few more sign up next week or it will be a bit pathetic (7 children in a big hall with a bouncey castle!)

Inspirational thoughts?

At the end of a long and busy day, mothers still manage to find a second wind.

Everyone needs a mother's love - wether they are one of life's winners or lossers.

Mothers hold their children's hands for only a short time, but clasp their hearts forever.

David has gone back to feeding every three hours and waking at least once in the night think he maybe having a bit of a growth spurt!!!

Cabe we will have to do Lichfield again when dd is at school full time or durring the hols so that we can spend a whole dasy wandering round the twisty little streets and exploring the cathedral.

Hello all!

Feeling very tired - trying to sort out house, washing, dd, ds and christmas to much! Wish this cold would go - seam to have had it for ages - think my body is also trying to have its first period since - well since last November! all achey and all grumpy! rhxx

itschristmas · 06/12/2005 08:44

Morning!

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 06/12/2005 08:55

Morning hope everyone had a good nights sleep David had me up at three this morning think it must be a growth spurt.

The voice of a mother is powerful: sometimes she speaks softly; and sometimes she shouts. (why do i feel as if all i ever do is the latter?)

A mother's love comes and grows, nevers ebbs and always flows.

Motherhood like everything requires practice.

jinglebellslady - hugs - will you be able to relax on Christmas day - once the operation is over? I do hope you can RHxxx

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 06/12/2005 10:17

Morning!

I meant to answer my own silly questions yesterday but found I've really not got enough for any major buy to not be used -

My favorite thing though is a little long sleeved vest from Carters (an american outlet) I wash and wash and wash it and it's not shrunk, discoloured, or begun to look tired and worn - I love it so much I've asked the SIL to buy 4 and send them over!

The thing I could do without is the conventional baby bath - I find I use it just so it doesn't go to waste! Usually Conrad and I share a bath - he was unsure of water when he was first bathed and I found it easier to be able to feed and comfort and swoosh the water around him. Now our baths are lovely as he's much more confident with the water

There is of course the other side of bathing with baby - getting out of the bath in a none-too-warm bathroom and remaining damp and dripping whilst making sure baby is cosied up in towels! Brrrrrgh!

Jingle Bells - {{{{hugs}}}} Keep as well in yourself as you can and try not to worry about the 'outside' world... You must be feeling very anxious

I'm just finishing decorating a Cake for my father's birthday He's 91 today We're meeting up with the rest of the family for lunch

PickasillyChristmasName · 06/12/2005 10:30

Morning

Lurgy still here .

And s is DS who is running around upstairs (despite nearly falling asleep downstairs so put him to bed for a nap. Had better go and sort him out.

Alice is happy and enjoying being 11 weeks old

KiwiKate · 06/12/2005 10:44

Hi all - sorry for long absence. Wanted to read and catchup on thread tonight. But Grace was unsettled, and I've just got her off too sleep. So am totally in the dark not having had a chance to read the posts (thanks for your concern Beatie, your post caught my eye - did you get my last email? I never got a reply)

Hope you are all well.

Must head for bed too - got an early start as mum is taking ds (2.7yo) away for three days - and we have to drive them to the airport for the early morning flight. He is beside himself with excitement about going on a plane.

Had 2 sets of unexpected guests (one lot with a sick toddler).

bEATieDRINKandbeMERRY · 06/12/2005 12:47

Nice to see you back Kiwikate How exciting for DS going away on a plane. Where is your mum taking him?

I've had a bad morning. I vow that is the last time I go shopping with a pushchair until after the Christmas sales have ended. I don't know how people in wheelchairs cope. I had to go to Wilkinsons to get a few toiletries and it was almost impossible to weave a logical path around the shop. There were so many items displayed on the floor and routes to certain aisles were blocked to me due to centre aisle displays being in the way and then queues at the checkout which I was unable to get past with my pushchair. Such a fire hazzard!

Then, when I went to leave the shopping centre, I noticed a queue had formed at the lifts. Only one was working. Here's a novel idea though. How about all those who were capable of walking used the stairs Who are all these people out shopping anyway? I can understand parents and the elderly being out and about at 10 am on a weekday but what about everyone else? Don't people work anymore?

The day started badly when a lorry rammed the side of my car. His fault entirely and no-one was hurt as there was no speed involved but still, it shook me up, as Alice was in the car.

bubbles2904 · 06/12/2005 13:28

hello hello all, loving the new xmas names. can't think of one yet but i also think it should include baubles so stick your suggestions on a postcard lol, have not been around all week, been so busy, it's taken me over a hour to catch up. cabe, it is now 19 sleeps, woo hooooooooo, i really am getting excited now.
As for the question, i don't think i have a worse buy, as i have used a lot of my dsisters baby stuff, best buy is defo my stroller as i can get on the bus and it doesn't take as much room up, we can get on them without putting them down here.

whensarahgotstuckupthechimney · 06/12/2005 19:56

Hi all. Just a quick one to say hello and hope that you are all well.

Tom is doing really well, is now a huge 15.2 and very very smiley. DS1 has calmed down, thank goodness and I no longer fear the days when I have both of them at home! Had a scarey Friday night when DS1 found a bottle of Calpol, managed to open it and ended up at hospital having blood tests, but apart from that we are all coping!!!

Beatie - buggy nightmares too. I go out of my way to be polite and considerate when trying to get past people but the tutts and huffs I get really gets my back up!! I also wonder why there are so many people out in town - as you say, don't they work!!

Deckthehills - hope all is ok with your FIL

bubbles2904 · 06/12/2005 20:06

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 07/12/2005 08:19

Bloody stupid men. Turns out he was seriousley dehydrated. we had this earlier in the year, he wasn't eating or drinking. MIL got him admited and they got him to start eating again but it looks as if he is slidding again can't help but wonder if the ADs are actually working for him.
