The letter made it very clear that under 3s were not allowed!

jaydeelady · 01/12/2005 09:53

morning all, attempted to do xmas shopping yesterday but wandered around the town in a daze not knowing what i was doing and came home forgetting more than i remembered. Have i left my brain with my pelvic floor in the delivery room? I'm sure i can't blame everything on pnd!!! Just found out today that dd2 is to go into hospital on 19th december for pioneering operation on her legs to enable her to bend her knees the week before xmas, how mad is that? have to take the baby cos of bf have to travel by train to GOSH (nightmare journey) and be organised for xmas amidst the trauma. it means missing dd1 in xmas play and dd2 missing the xmas play. why isn't life simple? plus the renovations of the house is due to be finished by xmas but maybe that will be put on hold again. sometimes i want to hibernate and sleep for ever.

Redhelen · 01/12/2005 09:54

Beatie - your Pre-school sound a worry! - no under 3's hardly family friendly!

Kiwikate - where are you!?

Love the new name Mummyhill - love the quotes to.

Off to the hospital to show them my scar - it looks ok - but still worried it will break open again - so booked to see the consultant gyny woman!

Feel thick with cold today - took all my energy to get up - and ds and dd were calling!!

jaydeelady · 01/12/2005 09:56

BTW beatie, our school says no babies or toddlers but many mothers turn up with babes in tow, would they turn you away if you turned up? not when they see how cute your baby is

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 01/12/2005 09:56

Thats just cruel. I know it can be a nuisance if they start screaming but most people understand. I think many of the schools etc take it all a bit to seriousley. Hope you can find a solution because i agree it would be a shame to miss it.

Redhelen · 01/12/2005 09:58

My thought for the day...

If a film was made of your life who would play you? - I can't decide between Angelina Jolie or Kathy Burke!

jaydeelady · 01/12/2005 10:00

RH, i think i'd go for Kathy Burke, great sense of humour and when everyone wanted to interview me about the film they'd think i was stunning!!!
(no offence to Kathy)

jaydeelady · 01/12/2005 10:05

is there anyone on this thread in the Crawley /Redhill/Croydon area?

PickasillyChristmasName · 01/12/2005 11:04

Just a quick message to unveil my Christmas name ans say I wish I lived nearer you beatie - I'd love to look after two "twin" alices at once.

PickasillyChristmasName · 01/12/2005 11:16

Hope to tyoe more later but DS has spotted me and is requesting the CBeebies page

LoveMyGirls · 01/12/2005 11:49

beatie i would have a word or take her anyway, surely they cant expect you to choose between staying at home with alice and seeing the play!!! some people are heartless and around xmas aswell! my dd would be heartbroken if i missed her play.

any of your babies like watching tv? mine absolutly loves it if i try and turn her away from it she crys

just been to get her weighed she weighs 10.5lb now the HV asked me if i needed a visit as my postnatal score was high and i do have down days but not enough to waste their time tbh.

also been naughty and spent £85 in asda on baby stuff, food, clothes for dd1 and a xmas tree!

Hope we're all having a better day today?

im from the midlands by the way and the actress id like to play my life hummm thats hard i think maybe kate winslet

beatie · 01/12/2005 11:55

Jaydeelady ~ What a hectic Christmas you have in store. I'm sorry that your dd2 has to go into hospital so close to Christmas.

Can anyone help me pickj a Christmas name? I love yours PC

What a shame I live near no mumsnetters else I would be asking them to look after Alice ~ I'm sure our Alice's would make a cute couple of babies PC.

I am sure I must know someone who is free but I don't! Tuesday is the worst day. It was the day I had no cover to look after dd1 when I was due with Alice.

To make it worse, I went to the toddler group this morning, chatted to a woman whose children once attended the said Pre-school and she said the Christmas concert is fantastic and not to be missed.

I'm going to speak to DH and see if he'll ring his parents and ask them again.

beatie · 01/12/2005 11:59

Oh yes, BTW, I went to the toddler group and it had a lovely atmoshpere, lovely toys, lovely people. I'm starting to feel more settled here already.

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 01/12/2005 16:16

PC - love the name.

Beatie - Glad all went well this morning. Will put my thinking hat on re a crimbo name.

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 01/12/2005 17:54

how about beatiethesnowman?

itschristmas · 01/12/2005 18:46

Ho ho ho - can you guess who it is yet!

itschristmas · 01/12/2005 18:48

he he - sorry could not think of a good name around redhelen!!

itschristmas · 01/12/2005 18:52

Hello!

Meant to say I'm in Bedfordshire if I close enough to help out with baby/child sitting for anyone!

beatie · 02/12/2005 08:04

Hmmm - still no Christmas name

Alice has a horrible cold and cough. I'm going to take her to the docotr today, just to have her chest listened to and check the cough is nothing sinister. I've no experience of a young baby with a cough so it is worrying ~ although Alice is perky and smiley and feeding and sleeping as normal.

Good news! DH rang inlaws and explained why they were needed and they are coming to babysit for Alice so I can go to dd1's Christmas concert. He apologised for not having asked them properly when he rang them last week - he'd just assumed I'd easily find someone else to babysit.

The weather here is terrible. Driving rain all night. It looks set to continue today. I think a trip to the docotr and maybe a trip to the library will be our only outings.

Hope everyone else is well.

beatie · 02/12/2005 08:05

where is everybody anyway? Kiwikate? Andif? Franch? SMK? And who else have I missed? I hope you're all reading at least and just don't have time to post.

bEATieDRINKandbeMERRY · 02/12/2005 08:39

OK This was the best festive name I could come up with. Anyone else going to play?

deckthehillswithboughsofmummy · 02/12/2005 09:09

I was only thinking the other day that we seemed to be a few missing. Am hoping that TMK is busy with DS/DF and wedding plans.

Thoughts for today.

You believe in miricales but you don't rely on them

You are willing to question conventional wisdom.

One of your best mottos is "no surrender"

Have a good day everyone.

I am seriousley hoping that the insurance cover note lands in time for me tax the car and meet up with cabe this afternoon. I have been nagging them all week. Otherwise I am travelling by public transport cause I really don't want to let her down as she has further to travel than I do.

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 02/12/2005 10:39

oht - I'm playing !!!

Harktheheraldcabewillsing · 02/12/2005 11:20

Oh - Mummyhill, really looking forward to meeting but if you can't tax the car I don't want you and David getting wet in the rain... We'll have to postpone until you have the car taxed

I'll text you so you get my number sweetie x

Beatie - I've been wondering about the 'thread-bare' (get it! get it! ) Sept babes thread too. I just hope everyone's busy with babes and christmas preparations.

Poor little Alice - bless her, I hope her nasty cough gets better soon. I think I'd take such a little one to the docs too... How's the sleeping going?

JDLady - my best wishes to you hun - having your dd2 going into hosp for her op just before christmas will really dominate the holiday period for you - Can another member of your extended family take some of the strain and 'DO' christmas at theirs for you and your family? I can't imagine what it'll be like for you if your nursing dd2 - coping with a little baby and dd1 and on top of that arranging all the christmas feasting etc.... Please ask your nearest and dearest to help out {{{Hugs}}} to you and the JD family

Later all xxx
