Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

Fuzzy The ridiculous amount of night time waking and copious milk guzzling are just a growth spurt.

Hope that helps Wink

I'll join you in the crying if it's not true! 3.bloody.15 am The Guzzler was shouting at me. Not impressed.

Fuzzywood · 16/01/2012 13:06

you really think so?!? Oh thank the lord Grin
We've moved Ev onto hungrier baby formula the result seemingly that we have a hungrier baby Confused. He had 7oz at about 7.15pm, another 7 ounces about 9.45pm, a couple of whinges because of his teeth then another 5 oz about 3am I think and a further 3oz at 6.30. Plus he's eating 3 meals a day, a couple of snacks and about another 10-14oz of milk! At least I know where he's putting it all, his chubby belly and thighs are wonderfully squishy at the moment Smile
How's L's napping going Bubba? Meant to reply to that one and forgot, we get about a 1 to 2 hour sleep in the morning from 8.30 onwards then usually another 30mins or so early afternoon or an hour or so late efternoon if he doesn't sleep earlier. Though saying that he slept for 2 hours from 8.30am then another 2 hours from about 2.30 yesterday. Another clear sign of a growth spurt I'm sure

Flubba · 16/01/2012 14:12

Ooh that sounds like a hungry baby indeed. Greedy boys!! :o

L's asleep now - he has a 30-45 min nap in the morning, then an 1.5hr nap in the afternoon on the whole, but was wondering whether I could shift or reduce them so that he sleeps longer at night as 4.40 is the normal waking time for a feed. Obviously if I do manage to reduce it, he still wakes at 4.40, but is also grizzly and clingy during the day Confused :o

Hey ho, early wakings means I've been getting quite a bit of stitching done, and here is my latest creation, which I started just before New Year! Shock

When's Ev's birthday again fuzzy?

Fuzzywood · 16/01/2012 14:36

Birthday is the 28th, very glad its on a Saturday this year as I don't work Friday so I may get some chance to make a cake or something. Is L's the 27th? His supposed due date was the 17th though so I was thinking about it this morning and how pissed off I was getting this time last year, where did that time go?!?
Yep moving of nap times or bedtimes has absolutely no affect with Ev at all. Its just a shock to the system as he was regularly sleeping 12 hours without a murmur for a few months.
Ooh that quilt is lovely, you clever lady you Grin
I bought DD her first ballet dress at lunchtime as she started lessons on Saturday, she was a complete show off so sweet in the first lesson. As she's been going on about it for months I finally gave in and just hope it lasts longer than the 2 lessons I went to when I was a kid Grin
Boss is away this week, can you tell!? Really ought to do something now I suppose, its starting to get to the stage of the I'm just back excuse wearing off unfortunately.

LadyBuzz · 16/01/2012 19:57

hello ladies and babies, sorry i've been MIA i've started back to work properly and i'm wiped out by the time I get home!

Well yesterday we had DDs first birthday party, Her birthday is wednesday I can't believe she is 1 already, she had a fab time and is going to be a real party animal by the looks of it Grin

She is walking really well now, runs most of the time but she looks funny as she is still so little (still in 3-6 month clothes) but very cute!

bubba that quilt is gorgeous you clever lady!

gallicgreetings · 16/01/2012 21:22

Hello ladies - going back to work is a shocker, isn't it?

I do read but don't seem to have the coherent thought to post replies.

Fuzzy the Great Plains dresses were great but all sold out now. Would defo buy again though.

Alys managed to pick up a cold on her settling in days! I feel like we've all been snotty for about a month now. We've all got some dreadful throat lurgy so DP has been off today and Alys stayed home with him for snuggles on the sofa.

Another tooth peeked through Friday which didn't help.

ok, screaming is still going on so I'll love you and leave you. hope you're all reasonably well and looking forward to 1st birthday parties.

RunningKatie · 17/01/2012 11:18

morning ladies

Can't believe Iz is going to be 1 soon, her due date was the 23rd, but she didn't appear until 5th Feb so we've got a few weeks to go!

She's still poorly, has a temperature and is off her food, neither of us have had a full nights sleep in the past 2 days. Hoping she's going to bounce back soon. No teeth yet either..... Surely it'll happen one day.

Thanks Gallic with resurrecting some old stuff and buying a few sales bits i'm sorted for clothes now but will look again in the spring so will keep that in mind.
Evan now has tonsilitis and an ear infection, will it never end
Lovely to 'see' you LadyB, must decide what we're going to do about Evan's birthday and soon too!
Right I'm off to eat then go to bed as these sleepless nights are killing me!

Flubba · 19/01/2012 19:22

Hey, nice to hear from all the main crew. Also cannot believe L's been here a year almost ~ I swear this year has absolutely flown by, way quicker than it did with DD1 and also DD2, I suppose it's a lot to do with being the 3rd and having to fit in rather than being able to be all lovely and indulgent with him?

Hmm. Birthday parties Confused I did 1st birthdays for the other two, but think I'll just do a birthday tea with sister and my nieces for L - he doesn't have a group of same-age friends like the others did. Ooh, that makes me a bit :(

I'm now officially a STUCK at home mum, and am very Envy of those of you at work, even if it sucks from time to time. It's hard to get my head round it, but I have to for the sake of the kids (and my sanity!).

L is officially a walker now! Took a whole load of steps today - longest walk (a bit stumbly/ploddy!) was 42 steps, which I take as a proper walker.

Hmm. I think I overuse exclamation marks. Wink

RunningKatie · 19/01/2012 19:49

Oh birthday parties, I'm having a bit of a hysterical moment with ours. We're having a little family birthday tea on Iz's birthday, but then we're having a party with our NCT friends. This now involves - an entertainer, tshirts with names on, a full-on buffet, a champagne toast, a cake with little figures representing each baby, numerous friends and relatives have been invited both with and without children. I love my NCT friends and their babies dearly, but they do seem to have slightly lost their heads with this!!!! Thankfully I'm not the only one who feels like this, but i've also just resolved to just chill and go with it - I'm sure it will be fun if I stop fretting that it might not be more than a little OTT for 8 1 year old's Wink

Yay for L walking 42 steps, that's fab. :)

Iz is a definite bumshuffler, I borrowed a friends baby walker to try her in, but it doesn't fit through our doorways and she sits in it but keeps her feet off the floor. A little more training required methinks.

Flubba · 19/01/2012 19:58

Shock at the party with entertainer etc! you're right though to just go with it, no point in getting stressed about it (as long as you're not paying through the nose for it. OMG (and I don't use that often!), just seen the bit about the cake!!! :o :o Shock :o :o

LadyBuzz · 19/01/2012 21:43

My baby is 1

Aww fuzzy hope Ev is feeling better soon, poor thing.

flubba yep definately a walker Grin

I got a bargain today, clarks shoes for £7!! and they still did the my first shoes photo etc. We have been struggling a bit as no where does proper walking shoes in less then a size 3, but she has finally reached a 3 and has shoes that the bottoms won't wear through!

running Shock at the party i'm sure it will be great fun though!

We just had a small family tea party on Sunday, she did love every minute of it too!

gallicgreetings · 19/01/2012 23:24

That dad who will only let his kid eat veg is going to have an apoplexy when he sees cake.

Grin

I spent a LOT of money snapping up bargains on the pumpkin patch website tonight - mking the most of their being in administration and selling off stock.

If anyone wants little shuffle shoes, then try www.mytwinkletoeshoes.co.uk/index.php?route=common/home - fine for little steps.

We're still lurgified but Alys has been back to nursery. Got to give her opportunity to pick up another bug to pass on to mum and dad. Hmm

How are you coping at home flubba? I don't envy you at all. it might be hectic but I feel so much better for being back at work. That's probably a little sad.

Flubba · 20/01/2012 06:02

God, no, not sad gallic ~ perfectly understandable. By Friday evening I'm ready to throw the towel in. Probably doesn't help when it's winter as pick-up from school means we're back in the house at half three/quarter to four, and DD1 and DD2 are too tired from being at school/walking to and from school to do much else, and it's too cold to do something outside, so we're stuck at home, everyone on Meltdown Countdown... Hmm :o

Happy belated birthday to Baby Buzz! :)

Fuzzywood · 20/01/2012 13:03

Shock at that party Running, drink champagne and relish in the fact you'll probably never have to do it again! I'm sure all those really OTT about it will change their tune once they experience it Grin
We'll probably be doing a birthday tea for us 4 and maybe MIL and Great Grandma I will make a cake though.

Link to those snowsuits i was talking about if anyone needs them [http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Miss-Chumsy?_trksid=p4340.l2563 Snowsuits]]

I'm trying to avoid the Pumpkin Patch website as I'll buy stuff we don't need.

I can sympathise Bubba, not working friday is lovely but the 2 of them are so knackered by Friday that i get the grouchy twosome for the day, almost makes me want to be back in work. I've threatened 4 times already today to stop DD's ballet lessons if she doesn't do as she's told and stops bullying her brother. He's holding his own though Smile

Right better go, another fight about to start, flippin kids

Fuzzywood · 20/01/2012 13:05

Hmm try that again Snowsuits

RunningKatie · 23/01/2012 21:32

DD is finally feeling better and eating again, we think she's lost 2lb's - which given that it takes her a month to put 1lb on was a bit upsetting. I did get to the stage last week where I thought I'd made completely the wrong decision staying at home. :(

I'm loving the kimono from that link Fuzzy - now I need a reason to buy it!

Fuzzywood · 24/01/2012 21:18

Oh Running it's so awful when they're ill and you can see the effects. I'm sure she'll pick up again quickly. Haven't seen the kimono sounds fab! Have to say I love the snowsuit I got for Ev (it's the light brown coloured one with the furry hood), I bought 12-18 months and it's just a little short in the leg. May be worth looking at a slightly bigger size but then again Ev does seem to be taking after DH who is 6ft4 so maybe it's him rather than the clothes Grin.
Had a much better night last night thankfully! Only up at 1.30 for milk then again at 5.30 and up about 6.30. Fingers crossed it continues to improve.
Very happy too as I've just won an eBay auction for £120 worth of Happyland stuff for £33 including postage. Going to give some of it to Ev for his birthday then keep the rest to get out when he starts to grow out of other toys.
How's everyone else's birthday plans going?

Flubba · 27/01/2012 10:51

Hi ladies, my baby boy is one today! How did that happen? :) He's walking around chattering away and laughing at his own brilliance, and aside from the little nose bleed from being crushed by a butcher's block this morning in our kitchen, he's happy enough :) we got him a fisher price ride-on/ push-along lion that is 39 quid new and got it for six in oxfam. Bargainous! Have made little alien icing to go on his chocolate cake for tea party with family this afternoon.

Fuzzywood · 27/01/2012 11:36

Oh yay, happy birthday L!
Birthday tomorrow here. I have everything ready to bake the cake and make the blancmange rabbit Grin I know what you mean Bubba it can't be a year ago today I was at the GP surgery seeing my midwife who couldn't quite believe I hadn't had him yet!
Quick question for you Bubba, I've got a couple of things I want to make for the kids so am looking for some material off cuts. On eBay there is a bag of 250gm of off cuts for £12 or 500g for £20, do you know if that would be good value? Obviously depends on the quality but I have no clue about the costs of material. Thanks Smile

Flubba · 28/01/2012 11:43

Happy Birthday Ev! :) :) No idea about buying by weight as I buy by length etc and I don't have any bits lying around to weigh for you, but I buy at the cheaper end of the scale and would buy a decent cotton piece of about 140cm by 100cm for anywhere between £3 and £6, if you can weigh a similar sized piece of cloth at home that should point you in the right direction? :s

RunningKatie · 29/01/2012 19:39

Happy birthday to L & Ev, I remember still waiting this time last year and being very hmph with all the mummies and babies queue jumping. Cupcakes was there with me, I often wonder how she is with all the news about Syria on the tv.

Iz is 1 a week today, it's my birthday tomorrow so she'll have some practice unwrapping gifts! :)

Fuzzywood · 29/01/2012 19:59

I was thinking about Cupcakes too, hope they're all ok.
Thanks for the material info Bubba, I'll check back to see if there was any mention of size so I can see if it's worth it.
Ev is poorly again so loooong nights all round here. Will be off to bed soon Smile

gallicgreetings · 29/01/2012 21:40

Cupcakes is in UK and doing teacher training. No idea where her DH is.

Have you tried asking on freecycle for material?
I have some my MIL offloaded on to me if you like. I wanted my friend to make me a pretty apron. I was dreaming of pale pinks and green with little roses and birds. She gave me dark brown with tiny fuscia and turqoise flowers. Hmm

I'm stunned that our babies are a whole year old already. I don't know where the time has gone. Every time I look at my gorgeous little girl, I wonder how she got so big.
