OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ElleB1980 · 17/05/2011 11:49

Another good night here - R went from 8 to 6:30 then I put her in bed with us and she slep til 8. She woke just as I thought I had time for a solo shower. Typical.

Have been to the HV this morning to get R weighed....she's 14lb 7 now so definitely not a little baby!

Am inspired by all your talk of tummy time and rolling over. Will try R on her stomach again later - she usually hates it but will have to get used to it!

Have lovely days all...I'm making Asian Soup (no weightwatchers points :) ) and it smells delish!

ledkr · 17/05/2011 13:07

We watch tv all the time too,i even watch a horror film if theres agood one on,at 7am when up with Dilly, the tv is pretty much always on in the back ground untill dh turns it off Angry My kids are far from addicts,in fact i often wish Ella would sit and watch tv instead of trashing the house playing.
Hope you are all feeling better today....got to go she's crying.

40Weeks · 17/05/2011 13:15

Thanks girls - I have been thinking about it for ages but really must do it. Keep thinking it will pass but it doesn't!

Have been inspired by wiggles and put up some new pics. Asian soup sounds lush Elle where did you find the recipe? My mum is on ww - I am on slimming wod. When I am not on the Easter egg diet that is Wink

ledkr · 17/05/2011 13:44

i put a couple of pics up too,Anna has changed so much Wiggs,D looks the same i think.Ginger and shocked!

wigglesrock · 17/05/2011 13:53

40Weeks & Ledkr lovely pics, Dilly looks yummy - at least they have hair - Anna is currently modelling the ageing footballer no hair in the middle of her head but some wisps round the side look Grin

Right off to start the school runs (tired of driving the same route constantly, roll on the end of June!!)

Tarlia · 17/05/2011 14:05

wiggles try not to worry, i got incredibly stressed before hand, but actually it all went fine. The only difficulty for me was negotiating all the luggage, carseat etc alone. My top tip would be a dummy or very clean finger for Anna to suck - everyone says feed on take off and landing, but Z was hungry by the time everyone finally got on and then on take off he decided he was finished eating doh! I also found my ears were popping before decent, so the dummy was a godsend, though Z didnt seem all that bothered.

How was the soup Elle? I love soup, but never think to make it.

40 what hansom little boys you have.

Eeekkk, Z is in not a happy camper today :( he is either stuck to me eating, having to sleep on me or whinging, think he is coming down with something. Typical OH is working late tonight.

Tarlia · 17/05/2011 14:08

ledkr Dilly (I love the nickname!!) is so cute. I love the pic with all the dolls!

ledkr · 17/05/2011 14:15

Thanks all,you will be fine wiggs, just remember good old iziza at the end,im gutted we wont be going on hols abraod cos of dillys cleft,we were going to go in Sept but we have big ideas now of a big "trip" instead, maybe 2-3 months Thailand,Australia and NZ i think,we always wanted to but then D came along.Ambitious eh?
My school run is ok,its about 5mins across the fields i quite enjoy the walk.

reastie · 17/05/2011 15:39

Today has been bought to reastie with the words poo, sneeze and MIL Wink .

Phew - MIL over this morning. SHe was due to look after alice while I go to the physio but due to alices cold and me being overfussy worrying she would need to feed oddly due to sore throat/cold I've postponed. Felt guilty so said MIL could come voer anyway. A and I been having lots of cuddly quiet time past day or so with her under the weather with cold , this was interupted with lots of loud jumping play with MIL (never any other sort) Hmm.

We've had 3 seperate massive poos today - talk about babies being weird Hmm - she only goes every few days for weeks and then suddenly loads in one day Shock. Would be nicer if she could save it for when DH comes home so he can deal with it please Grin

Got some karvol thanks wiggles (I think it was you) for suggestion. Also got saline nose spray which helps her feed a little better as was struggling to breathe when feeding :( The didn't have the sucker thingy bensmum (forgot the new nn - sorry) mentioned

Loving these new piccies. ledkr dilly is such a cutie and 40 big bro looks like he's loving looking after ds??

40 glad you're getting some help, let us know how you go

ledkr would be completely Envy of that trip. I'm sure if would take alot of organising but once you were away for a few days you would I'm sure get used to D's needs and sorting them out when not at home IYKWIM. Plus, she'll be eating normalish food by then more so not so much of a prob with sorting bottles etc

elle soup sounds good. Reminds me I need to make watercress soup for my tea Grin

jane have signed petition :)

Think there's a national shortage of aptimil carton newborn milk Hmm - waitose and sains sold out, and had to visit 6 chemists to get just 6 cartons (all they had). Read all the lit some of you mentioned re: ff safety but don't want to make up and flash freeze and store in freezer for few hours until new kitchen/fridge is done (which is tomorrow :) ) as current fridge is a bit mad. There shall be many moans from me the rest fo this week I'm sure about workmen again (nothing changes!) - we are having the kitchen revamped with new oven/fridge/worksurfaces and also sitting room chimney swept

Sure there's more I was going to comment on but it escapes me at this minute, and this post is far too long anyway.

ledkr · 17/05/2011 15:51

Shock about the milk!! D is still on prescribed milk,i wonder why there is a shortage tho.
reastie have you read Angelas Ashes? I wont tell you how they get the snot out of babies noses then ughhhh.Do you think she will enjoy boiled onion in milk?
Just made short bread with Ella yum.Well i did watch the shred dvd fgs.
Dilly has decided not to sleep today, goes off but then wakes again farting,dh marched her over the school and she asleep now.

ElleB1980 · 17/05/2011 16:02

40 Tarlia reastie The soup was gorgeous. I had two bowels but it doesn't matter! Hurrah! Recipe is here

wiggles Am Envy of holiday regardless of how the flight is! I should be a bridesmaid in a couple of weeks in Rhodes but we can't afford it because of me being on mat leave so I'm on duty for the blessing o ly.

ledkr We went to Japan ad NZ a couple of years ago. I've been to NZ a couple of times. I keep telling DP that I might pop off again before I go back to work. Would only really cost me the airfare.

reastie You've got me worried about Aptamil now. They didn't have any at all (cartons or tubs) in our humongous Tesco yesterday. Managed to get some from Co-op this morning but now wondering if I should go and fetch some more....

wobblybumm · 17/05/2011 16:07

Hello there. I wondered if I could gatecrash your thread? I was looking for a post natal group but I think you lot were hiding in antenatal for a while! I have a 13 week old son called Nate (Nathaniel), have had a stalkerish read of your recent posts so hope it's okay if I join in.....

reastie · 17/05/2011 16:12

oh no

wigglesrock · 17/05/2011 16:26

wobblybummm let us know Nates dob and we'll fire you in.

ledkr My uncle took his 3 kids on a 10 week holiday in NZ, a few years ago, had fab time. Anna has refused to sleep today Shock but is in fab form so not that bothered Grin

reastie my fil is an noisy, jumping type player, have my sympathies, glad Alice is feeling a bit better, think dd2 is coming down with something, she looks a bit off but is insisting she's fine, she fights everything, a bit like Dilly, I think Ledkr

Is Aptamil changing its cartons/graphics, know SMA is so they may be not stocking out until new packaged ones have arrived Hmm

wigglesrock · 17/05/2011 16:37

wobblybumm also Nates' weight - see how nosy we are, sure you want to join in, your life will never be your own again Grin

Tarlia · 17/05/2011 16:50

Ledkr your trip sounds fantastic. I too would be jealous!

Haha restie I can just see all of the feb group raiding the supermarkets and chemists for formula now incase there is a national shortage Grin. Would they really do that wiggles that would be a huge pain just over bloody packaging!!

Welcome, wobbly! Of course you can join us, we were indeed hanging around in postnatal for a long time. Looking forward to hearing more about you and Nate :)

I thought I would join in and have finally added some pics of Zachary :)

wigglesrock · 17/05/2011 16:56

Tarlia he's gorgeous and look how much he's grown Grin Thanks for reassurance re flights. Think I'm panicking slightly because me and Mr W will be outnumbered!!. We are starting to get stuff in for the holiday and getting really excited

SMA have a big sticker on the top of the formula saying they're changing the packaging, know when a different product does this, the shops reduce the goods with the old packaging but obviously can't do this with first formula so I would think some shops wouldn't buy as much in to avoid "wastage" of course I could be talking completely out of my bum but it sounds good Grin

janedoe25 · 17/05/2011 17:15

And breathe! The mindees have all gone, who would have thought kids could have so much fun with old bandages and dressing from the firstaid box!

Tarlia Z is beautiful, he will be a right heart breaker when he is older.

Wobblybumm* welcome to the thread, i think you will agree that the girls on here are amazing. Hope little Nate is well.

Wow ledkr the trip sounds utterly amazing!

wigglesrock · 17/05/2011 17:29

jane my nana used to be an orderly at a hospital and she used to bring home bandages, dressings etc (oops looks like that's what happened to the NHS Blush), my sister used to love it, it is one of her favourite childhood memories, unfortunately most of my soft toys bore the brunt of her hospital play. I kept my first teddy and when I gave it to Sofia I noticed all these holes in the arms caused by an awful disease and needing operating on (my sister was a bit gung ho with the old injections knitting needles Grin

wobblybumm · 17/05/2011 17:32

Brill, nosy is good and thanks for being so welcoming. Nate's DOB is 13/2/11 and he weighed 6lbs 8oz.
I suspect the Aptamil shortage might be something to do with me buying it every day in the desperate hope Nate might actually take a bottle! He'll be going to school with my boob in his mouth at this rate

tadjennyp · 17/05/2011 17:57

Have signed and shared Jane. Have been reading and thinking of you all but haven't posted as S has been feeding 12 times a day for the last week and I'm shattered. Any one else bfing going through this? Photos are all gorgeous! Sorry about your Mum Debka. Good luck with the doctors 40.

I've flown with the two eldest from the West Coast a couple of times on my own wiggles and I always bring sticker books to do and little books to read with me. I think I would invest in some kind of DVD player if it was a long flight tbh but it's not too bad to Ibiza, is it? Good luck!

Apologies if I have missed anyone else.

Tarlia - Zachary 09/02/11 6lb 6oz.

ILovePonyo · 17/05/2011 18:32

Hey all, welcome wobbly :)

Aptamil have recently changed the packaging for their powdered milk, so maybe thats affecting the cartons? I'll be another one rushing out tomo to check my local shops havn't run out Grin

I have a story about snotty baby noses - A colleague used to work with an african girl (from the congo) and was visiting her with an interpeter. The african girls baby, say about 9 months, had a snotty nose so the interpreter picked baby up and sucked the snot out of her nose himself, then spat it into a tissue! Shock My colleague was really taken aback, this guy wasn't a family member or anything, he was there working as an interpreter so not really appropriate, but he and the girl just said its normal and how they clear noses in the congo Confused Hope no ones having their tea Wink

I'm off to have a nosy at everyones pics and sign the petition jane

reastie · 17/05/2011 18:39

Shock Confused Hmm Shock to ponyo
