Well dd has been a funny bugger today, she just had a screaming fit for no real reason - she actually woke up crying?! Confused

Inspired by wiggles lovely pics I put her on her tummy for some tummy time and she hated it and cried, oh dear. Are people doing tum time regularly?

debka Grin at the oh fuck rucksack, have you seen the tv series The Walking Dead? Cracking series about zombies, kind of 28 days later but american, and because its a series rather than a film its got loads of characters with enough time to develop them if that makes sense? Sorry to hear about your mum too.

jane I think nov will be here before you know it! Agree re: the counselling, if you can find a counsellor that you feel you can 'work' with it could be useful for you? Just wanted to add to what ledkr said, I had early mcs before having dd, nowhere near as bad as what you've been through, but I was also really resentful and jealous of any pg women, esp when I saw them smoking outside the hospital Hmm and the same with any woman with a baby. In my line of work I came across a lot of mums already with kids and with social services involved, and I ended up thinking it wasn't fair and they didn't derserve their kids. Really unlike me, and with hindsight I should have tried to get some help but was a bit head in the sand about it all. So, after that massive rambling, I think I'm trying to say counselling could be worth a go :)

Glad Ris ok Elle, dd slept more after her jabs but was grumpier when awake for a couple of days!

About partners, I read (on mn!) that its important to keep relationship going and make an effort because you're what each other have got when the kids have grown up. Whilst I agree with this, in practice its much harder to do and making an effort is sometimes too much of an... effort Grin Got to go and tend to dd back later to continue waffling

ponyo I only realised last week alice can lift her head up like that Blush. I used to give her tummy time every now and again but she cried after a few seconds. Now she quite likes it but only if she's in the right mood. She gets really tired after a few mins from lifting up that wopping big head though so I have to time it right so I roll her over before she gets upset. Was v v proud this morning - she rolled from her tummy to nearly her back (not sure if that fact that she did it on my bed and I was sitting next to her to the mattress was sort of pulling her down where my massive bum was makes the roll over not count properly though Hmm )

I also felt resentful to other pg women after my mc too (again, nothing compared to janes experience). I had a friend who was exactly th same stage of pg as me and felt happy for her but also that it was so unfair that she still had a baby and mine was gone. That's partly why I think jane you are incredible and so strong to keep up with the thread Grin . I did feel alot of the pain go once I had alice though. You will be a fab mum jane, I have no doubt at all.

wigglesrock · 16/05/2011 18:53

ponyo when I started putting A on her tummy she hated it, she only stopped wailing a couple of days ago, I'll be honest I lifted her/ stopped doing it when she cried so it didn't put her off. We have a nice big baby gym at my mums and we have been trying the past couple of Sundays to get her to enjoy it, but she didn't like it either, then last Sunday we tried her and she loved it, was grabbing away, trying to decapitate the elephant Grin, just took her a while to want to do it. It does tire her out though.

Dd1 was the same with weaning, I tried weaning her at about 6 months and she wouldn't entertain it, I left it, gave it a go the next week and she was grand. And it only took 3.5 years for dd2 to decide to give sleeping a go Grin She is still doing really well, no getting up, crying for me, so I'm allowed to make jokes about it now!

ILovePonyo · 16/05/2011 19:02

wiggles when I hear about your dd2 and her sleep habits I am impressed you can joke about it Grin (and filled with dread it might happen to me Blush )

I'm glad you've said that about leaving it and then trying again, with tummy and weaning, I'm a bit of a worrier and think "oh god, she'll never like it" when I need to just chill :)

reastie obviously clever A rolled herself and it was nothing to do with you sitting on the bed Grin Aah bless her, those photos really are cute as well.

wigglesrock · 16/05/2011 19:09

Ponyo Olivias' sleeping was probably really badly handled by me as well, (trying to assuade any fears Grin) My really big success and I will blow my own trumpet was the toilet training, Sofia and Olivia both toilet trained really quickly, I didn't even think about it until Sofia was 2.5 and I left it until Olivia was 2.8, it took about 2 days and I think they had about 2 accidents. I like to think I traded the sleep for easy toilet training!!

Tarlia · 16/05/2011 19:57

Hey everyone, wow what alot to catch up on!! Glad to see you are all doing well and lovely to see the new photos. Z and I flew over to the UK to see famy, which was lovely. He was a little star on the plane which was a huge relief!!

I'm off to catch up properly :)

Emski76 · 16/05/2011 20:41

Hey all. It's Ben and Noahs mum. Have finally changed my username! Off to bed now, here's to a good nights sleep!

40Weeks · 16/05/2011 20:55

Oh debka I am so sorry to hear about your mum. You really are a gem, always chipper even though you have so much to deal with, looking after everyone. Your girls are going to grow up with such a fab role model, you should be proud of yourself.

Jane how you doing? I hope you are being kind to yourself and not doing anything that makes things harder for you. You are being ever so brave.

DH is away tonight, I have just eaten one of the kids easter eggs that was lurking in the cupboard. The whole thing.

debka · 16/05/2011 21:05

benandnoahsmum!!! emski76, another one to remember.

wiggles Imogen is 2.1 ATM and I really want her to potty train but she will not contemplate it. I use cloth nappies and washing for 2 of them is no joke- plus she is so big (well, normal 2yo size, but when I look at her enormous bottom next to Sabine's on the changing mat it looks pretty massive!), and vocal it seems odd that she still wears nappies. PLUS she hates nappy changes with a vengeance, she screams through them little sod. Anyway, now I know who to come to for help and moral support.

Sabine loves tummy time and holds her head up really well. AND she rolls onto her back from her tummy too. And I am Debka Smug from Smugsville Grin feel free to throw things at me!

Not sure if I mentioned it on this thread but we've gone ahead and enrolled Sabine on this research project called the EAT study. It's about food intolerances and allergies. Her first appointment is on Thursday up in London. We'll find out if she's in the control group or the early weaning group

Ok, better go before computer runs out of battery,

Sleep well ladies and babies xxx

reastie · 16/05/2011 21:21

deb I looked at the link for that study when you put it on here. It looked interesting but too much like hard work for me didn't get around to it. It would be really interesting if you were part of the early weaning group from a purely nosey and interested point of view. Wouldn't that mean you'd be weaning sabine pretty much in the next few weeks? I feel a little Sad that I am now half way through the point where alice only needs milk. She will soon be on proper food with super smelly poos Shock . Which reminds me - we had a 3 day in the making poo take place while she was in the bath tonight Confused. Just glad it wasn't when DH or I were in the bath with her Shock Hmm Wink

emski will have to remember new name now...mind you....I can talk Wink

40 I was impressed you have had the self control that you still had an easter egg in your cupboard Grin

wiggles how is mr w tonight?

40Weeks · 16/05/2011 21:54

Thanks reastie I was feeling crap that I had eaten one of their eggs and was a mean mummy but actually you are right, it's a miracle it was still there at all!

wigglesrock · 16/05/2011 21:58

SmugDebka God as if its not bad enough that you started this thread you now have genius baby Grin Good luck for Thu.

reastie Mr W is still at work so maybe he's had a miraculous recovery or the co-codamol has started to kick in!

Work have been in touch, and I think I'm going to do a few KIT days over the next couple of weeks, good dogsbodies are hard to find apparently Grin

Mumsnet is going really slow for me tonight so going to sign off, hope everyone has good sleeps x

40Weeks · 16/05/2011 22:18

Couldn't see your photos btw wiggles said they weren't public

wigglesrock · 16/05/2011 22:24

40Weeks should be ok now, deffo going to bed soon Grin

40Weeks · 17/05/2011 06:41

Ah gorgeous, wiggles I love the one of her on her front with her hands clasped.

Another 5am start and Owen had just gone into the baby's room to wake him. I feel so shit, am deffo going to the docs for some anti-d's I didn't have a nice word to say to the kids yesterday as I constantly feel like I can't take any more.

We are all in bed watchg topcat. Far too much telly in this house Sad

debka · 17/05/2011 07:10

40weeks I thought I was the only one up! S woke at 6am today , back in bed now, but now Imy is awake. This is Not Good News as she will be screamingly overtired by 11 and possibly refusing to nap at 1. Be easy on yourself- if TV makes your day get-through-able then so be it. We will have CBeebies on a lot today, with Imy being so tired.

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 17/05/2011 08:20

40weeks for what its worth I have the tv on all the time when I'm at home, sometimes I'm watching it, sometimes its just background noise. And topcat is great! Sorry you're feeling rubbish, but good for you going to the docs, are you going today? Good luck and don't be too hard on youself :)

smug deb Wink that study sounds interesting, early weaning Confused I was only thinking this morning that it won't be long before dd won't just be having milk anymore, scary.

reastie poo in the bath Shock dd didn't poo yesterday or at night so I super pleased this morning, hopefully she'll go back to pooing in the day, ah simple things eh :)

wiggles we'll all be coming to you for potty training advice in a few years then, remember that!

dd slept well which meant I did too, ah feel much better today.

janedoe25 · 17/05/2011 08:21

Morning Girls, hope you are all well. I want to share this link with you all, it's a SANDS petition for extra ante-natal screening in an attempt to prevent stillbirth.

www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gopetition.com%2Fpetitions%2Fstop-the-stillbirth-scandal-join-grazia-and-sands-cam.html&h=b364f

MizK · 17/05/2011 09:34

jane will def sign up, thanks for sharing the link.

wiggles Anna looks so cute on your pics. She really holds her head up well doesnt she? Cassia usually faceplants after about 5 seconds!

reastie euw to poo in the bath, poor you!!!

40 think thats a good decision to go to the docs, they will help you and get you feeling like yourself I know it.

Thanks all for backing me up re DP. He was being an idiot but hasn't mentioned it since. I'm going swimming with my friend and her little boy today, will only be the second time Cassia has gone swimming so semi nervous, its a water babies type class so hope she doesn't boo all the way through!

ponyo glad you are up for meeting, if you send me your no we can sort something. I go to the Surestart near the prison (klassy!) but its actually really nice, the staff are lovely and the people who go are really nice too.

Cant remember who voiced concern re baby sign but actually it was pretty good, we sang loads of songs whilst doing a couple of signs like milk and eat etc, so its very verbal. The teacher was really nice but at £5 a time I'm going to see how much we get out of it before committing long term!

Re: weaning, I'm already planning to do it at 4 months I think. Cass is nearly 15 pounds and now feeds every two hours or so in the day, so I think she'll be ready to start... gross nappies here we come!

debka · 17/05/2011 10:08

Signed jane xxx

ledkr · 17/05/2011 10:28

Psst D has already had some fruit and baby rice, not much and only occasionally with her meds but she loves it and will be fine, she hasnt got the capacity for too much liquid.only manages 150mls max but mostly 120mls so will def not wait until 6 months. Just going to try and put some pics up she's changed so much.

wigglesrock · 17/05/2011 10:35

40weeks good luck at docs, we watch tv all the time here too, I used to feel guilty over it, not anymore. I have super smart girls with brillant language skills, no thanks to me, I bow at the altar of CBeebies, feckin' hate Boomerang but unfortunately the girls love it Grin

MizK I know, Olivia used to go to Jo Jingles, it was £5 a class and she didn't like it, I hated it, I'm not one for improvising musical instruments. It was a real expense and big sighs of relief when we gave it up. She goes to a playgroup for 2.5 hours a week, 4 days a week and I pay £5 a week for her snacks. Its obviously govt funded but someone somewhere is making a lot of money re baby classes and I'm Envy

Jane Me and Mr W have signed and "passed it on"

Tarlia · 17/05/2011 10:55

So, I think I've caught up, boy youve been chatty! Baby brain means I've forgotten half of what was said, doh!

Jane go easy on yourself, you are being incredibly strong and brave, I don't think I'd be the same, I admire your strength. Im sure Zoe is very proud to have you as her mummy. Your friends will understand if you cannot face the party.
I'm off to sign the petition once done here.

deb I'm sorry, I didn't realise your mum had cancer either. You have an awful lot on your plate and with OH too, what an amazing woman! How has he been since he returned? I cant believe he hasn't told parents he smokes :O

40 Tv before 8am should be the law! I like ponyo have the tv or music on the whole time we are home for company - Z has started to take an interest already!! Hope you are ok, dont be too hard on yourself x

restie poo in the bath?! Yuk! Poor you!

wiggles they are gorgeous photos of Anna, what a wee cutie.

janedoe25 · 17/05/2011 11:14

40 weeks you made a good and brave decision to go to the doctors. take things easy. TV has been my lifesaver since going back to work, it's the best way to calm down 5 kids after school!

Thanks for signing the petition, SANDS emailed the link to me and it is for a good cause.

wiggles Anna is super cute, she looks like she loves tummy time!

mizkhope you and Cassia enjoy swimming. In my house swimming would have to daddy's job as i can't swim Blush

I have potty trained 3 little ones in the past 4 years with my work - lots of fun to be had, NOT!

wigglesrock · 17/05/2011 11:39

Tarlia Any tips/hints for the flight? We are heading off next month and I'm fairly relaxed about taking A but am having a tinsy wincy wobble. Have had girls on plane a good few times but youngest was when Olivia was 7 months and can't remember it, not a good sign Grin
