Could well be teeth, G seems to get the symptoms about a month before she gets the actual tooth!

I am the complete opposite of you culinary-wise, I am really shit at cooking but bizarrely am pretty good at baking.

DesperateHousewife20 · 27/02/2011 08:26

Dylan seems to have gone off solids, in any form. I put finger foods on his tray, he'll pick them up maybe put them in his mouth but then will drop them and moan cos he doesnt want to be in there.

He wont take puree off a spoon anymore either (he will with yoghurt though)
Im a but worried he'll only eat sweet things.

Ack [totally ripped off from mlic], i dunno what to do. am exhausted and so fed up of washing/cleaning wee, poo and vomit that it's clouding my judgement. he was sick once more last night, admittedly it was when i was checking for his molars and think i hit his sick lever Hmm

oh and earlier in the day he'd ben sick but i thought it was just because he'd choked on his lunch and then brought up some sick when coughing it back up.

he hasn't been sick since the last lot around midnight but is uber-whingey and not himself this morning and i've just found out that he is still in his night pull-up because he wouldn't 'let' dh change him, apparently Hmm

so, it looks like potty training ought to go on hold (i've been thinking out loud here to come to a conclusion)

mlic deffo sounds like a tooth. when did E get his third one? so far A is following F's teething schedule so W might be the same.

wss hope you enjoyed your pizza frenzy!

hey needle how's G doing? can we see the stuff you've made please? i love etsy, such a great idea.

DesperateHousewife20 · 27/02/2011 08:44

Mlic- thanks I will keep on trying! It makes no difference to his sleeping anyway lol.

CakeandRoses · 27/02/2011 08:45

memphis don't worry, as mlic they do go thru these phases, esp if teething too. keep offering a variety of things and he'll start to eat something else again soon

might be worth trying some of the sweeter veg like parsnip or baby rice or porridge mixed with fruit puree/banana to entice him onto something other than yoghurt

CakeandRoses · 27/02/2011 08:45

sorry that was for dh not memphis!

Morning all,
Please excuse me if there are loads of mistakes im soooooo tired its untrue. Shite night here, D was up like 7 times, mostly for dummy but twice i had to turn him back over! thats a first. I did get him out of the cot once though as he just couldnt settle, he just had far too much snot! the humidifier really didnt do its job last night! im wondering if its also teeth but i have honestly given up trying to guess whats going on, im just dealing with it now and desperatly hoping it passes SOON!
DH Devon defo prefers sweet stuff and very quickly consistently refused puree of any kind unless it was sweet. Hence BLW which is far less stressfull than trying to get food in a mouth that simply wont open!
Devon is all over the place, he is moving so much, its mostly backwards but hes really starting to bring his knees up, i dont think it will be long and we will have a crawler..........oh no!!!!! i wonder how i stop him eating dog/cat food? gona have to baby proof the house asap i recon. Whats everyone doing today? We have been abandoned as DH has gone to wembly for the football over night.

DesperateHousewife20 · 27/02/2011 09:34

He just ate toast with a very thin layer of strawberry jam on, and I mean he actually swallowed it. Ok half of it, 2 slices went on the floor.

viksam · 27/02/2011 09:54

dh thats good, maybe he's more drawn to BLW. Have u looked at any of the sites, its quite interesting. I think Devons dexterity has improved loads. I love that he has no fear of putting stuff in his mouth, as soon as u put new food down its in there. I dont think much goes down but some defo does, results in his nappy.

CakeandRoses · 27/02/2011 10:00

yy, vik this time i've been amazed at how quickly A has taken to food - we've had two full-on proper poo nappies now despite the fact she's still having the same amount of bf. she can now pick up peas and beans and is getting better at pinning down slippery things. i was just watching her hold some banana on the table and then chow down onto it Grin

sorry for your crap night - hopefully teeth on their way soon

OP posts:
Needle · 27/02/2011 10:10

dh gwen was the same last week, you do just have to power through.
My little darling has just projectile vomited all over our clean sheets. Well, over my half. I was meant to be taking her to selfrifges today in the pram, with a friend and I don't know whether I can really go now. She's perfectly cheerful and beansy, but i'm stumped- she's never been a puky baby- is this a big deal?

She's still BF, but taking formula at 7 and 10.30 then sometimes BF again at 2.30. She's got two teeth and is sitting up like a pro. gosh, for someone who's just lost a bellyfull of milk, she's very cheerful.

cake I don't want to put any pictures on Facebook until i'm ready to go (a year of being married to dh means I no longer show anything till it's ready) but will let you all know as soon as i'm up and running.

Can I do a quick straw poll though? What would you expect to pay, ladies, if you were to buy, say, a hand embroidered vest (initials or motifs like teddies, ducks, rosebuds) or a pair of shoes (hand stitched and embroidered, felt with silk ribbon)? I've no idea what to charge and dh isnt much use!

DesperateHousewife20 · 27/02/2011 10:22

viks yeah Ive always done BLW with him, I just have jars as back up or when we're out but he doesnt really like them.

needle maybe she just had too much milk? Id keep an eye on her but Im sure she'll be fine to go out.

CakeandRoses · 27/02/2011 10:37

this kinda thing needle?

OP posts:
Needle · 27/02/2011 10:37

I suppose she might have done, although I was thinking that perhaps it was because I feed her at 4.30 last night, which I don't usually do, but she woke with a stinky nappy and was inconsolable. Also, I feed her lying down, so wondered if perhaps sitting her up was just too much for her little tummy.

CakeandRoses · 27/02/2011 10:43

unusual projectile vomiting like that does usually mean a bug of some sort but give her an hour and if she keeps everything down then maybe it was just too much milk/sitting up

I think sometimes they just spew for no real reason too!
cake poor little F. Sounds like you're doing the right thing putting potty training on hold.
Mlic i was getting all them signs about 3 or 4 weeks ago plus about 4 dirty nappies a day and last week me and my mum were looking and 'seen' a top tooth cutting but it seems to have disappeared back up again! lol! there was definately some sort of thing there but her gums were very swollen and im thinking her bottom teeth cut her top gum a little bit or something. Either way all this teething and no tooth is just leaving me stumped.

memphis83 · 27/02/2011 14:06

afternoon! seems we have a few poorly babies and toddlers on this thread, L still has a rattley chest, and he clearly has tummy ache he keeps farting but they sound like (as my dh would describe them) knicker rippers he screams in pain as the come put!!got loads of cooking to do today for L i need to do a load of fruit for the freezer. and im doing chicken in white sauce and dauphinoise (sp?) potatoes for us for tea just so cold here.
going doctors tomorrow with L's chest and then HV on tuesday morning

viksam · 27/02/2011 14:54

Sorry dh i didnt realize u were doing it already.
memphis blimey u sound busy, poor L, its such a nightmare when they are ill. I feel like devon has been ill for ever, this is over two weeks that hes had this cold and now its on his chest. I dont know wether to take him back to the docs, its just lingering on and whilst hes bad i cant allow him to self settle. However i just left him to cry for 15 mins as he woke up just 20 mins into his lunch time hour and just wouldnt settle. I went in in the end because i didnt want him to cry anymore with his bad chest. He is just really hard work at the moment. I really wanted him to have a nice restfull day today too as he had such a bad night. I just feel like its all going backwards, its worse now than it was three months ago and i dont know how to fix it.

mlic the time difference - we are 13 hours ahead of the UK - it's 7.10am Monday morning here at mo.

When your clocks go forward for summer ours go back for winter and the time difference changes to 11 hours.

VIksam eek , up 7 times, that's a lot. It's horrible when they have colds and are all uncomfortable at night. Have you tried raising the mattress at one end? Vicks/Olbas oil any help?

Needle is there anyone else selling similar-ish stuff on Etsy so you can check out what sort of prices they charge? To give you an idea of what is reasonable to price your stuff at.

CakeandRoses · 27/02/2011 19:02

sounds bad there mlic and vik Sad mlic, do you still think w has an intolerance of some kind? is that possible with D, do you think vik?

i was feeling so fed up this morning but then made the decision to wait til F was better to do the potty training. He hasn't been sick again but has been whingey and not really eating all day so will review how he is tomo re potty training.

we went to our friends for a huge and very yummy brunch and then put the toddlers down for a nap whilst we chatted and read the sunday papers.

came back here, walked down to blockbusters and got a dvd to watch later and made some pasta for all of us and a cheeky, early wine for the over 18s Grin

Aurelia likes food so much she has taken to rocking back and forth with excitement as she eats which produces some v messy results.

the second tooth looks like it might arrive in the next 24 hours so i'm hopeful that might result in her sleeping more deeply and dropping a night feed [yeah right emoticon]

she's getting into some more optimistic positions re crawling and is moving backwards but don't think she'll be crawling properly for another month plus
