Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sam I am also confused, maybe we should do a list Grin

HarrietJones · 11/04/2011 22:16

Think its fixed but I had to reboot from last August so its a good job my pics had been copied over. EVERYONE BACK UP YOUR BABY PICS NOW JUST IN CASE! Its a bit weird thinking back then I didnt know much about dd3.

TribbleWithoutACause · 11/04/2011 22:19

Sam I'm actually jealous of those that have babies that fit in their clothes for longer. Then again, I don't know what I was expecting with DS, me and DH aren't exactly small so he was destined to be a tall fella anyway.

Spring Thats what we'll be doing when I get round to it , although to be honest I do just dump him in the high chair and plonk stuff in front of him and let him get on with it. If he eats he eats, if he doesn't he doesn't. I do want to offer him some purees but in my head this means I'm actually weaning him properly, at the moment he's just playing and I haven't properly 'started' yet. I'm weird I know.

Nohun Laid back is good, also just wondering you don't have to answer but how goes it in terms of DCno2? Or is it all quiet on the western front? Just wondering really, I saw a woman with a stokke pram the other day and all I could think of was you and the potential dilema of fitting two in the thing. Grin

DS seems to be doing better today, only thing is that I've now caught it and it has developed into an ear infection. DH didn't help, he had the car and I wanted biscuits to go with my tea. I texted him to pick some up on the way home and he forgot!!! Angry He then said it would probably be good for us not to have biscuits in the house.

Sometimes when you have children, a chocolate hobnob is the only thing standing between you, the bottle of wine and the inevitable trip to leave the child at the police station with a jam sandwich and a note tied round it's neck Paddington Bear style.

SpringFlowers · 12/04/2011 08:14

Tribble - I started weaning like you but then thought it would be good if R could eat some food during my surgery time as we are really struggling with bottles and cups. This week I moved on to two meals day mainly so she would have the opporotunity to try more foods. This said she doesn't always actually eat very much.

Has anyone else got their periods back? I've been having mine since month three! Seriously not fair when breastfeeding!

NoHunIntended · 12/04/2011 08:42

Mock, vegan bacon sandwich is much the same as a meaty bacon sandwich apart from I substitute the meat with a soya-faux-meat slice. I think they are very tasty. The smell of real bacon sizzling actually makes me heave now.

Ty, nice new Easter namechange!

Oh Spring, the cyst, yes, horrid for you. Owwwww. Hope everything goes smoothly for you, and you get LO sorted re food and drink.

sam12, I am missing all his gorgeous 0-3/3-6month clothes - some were soooo cute, and he barely wore them. I NEED another baby! :) Hope your LO is feeling better today.

On that front, Tribs, no, nothing to report. I am SO keen to be pregnant again. I loved being pregnant, really loved it - and of course love the end result! Haven't got my periods back yet, so reduced chances. Envious of you there, Spring. Tribs, I will definitely sling DS if I have another baby in the Stokke, or put him on the boogie board thing. It'll work. Unless I have twins. Which would be awesome! :)

HarrietJones · 12/04/2011 08:50

I had one period in January & nothing since.

Dd3 currently eating porridge , v messy & dd1 trying to lecture her about using a spoon. Can't convince her on BLW

TribbleWithoutACause · 12/04/2011 10:52

NoHun Mine started after I dropped the night feeds and spaced them out a bit more, I think a few people have mentioned that when one of the night feeds were dropped that the periods were the first thing to return. Although you may be ovulating by stealth, the thing is you just don't know with that one do you. Heres hoping for one very happy surprise for you!!!

EggTYmer · 12/04/2011 11:16

NoHun, Sophie is still in some 0-3 month clothes Grin

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 12/04/2011 11:54

Yup, so is Bronwen. she's just moved into 3-6 month sleepsuits, but all her other stuff is 0-3 months. She's just grown out of Sainburys 0-3 mth vests only to move into Debenhams Jasper C ones for the same age range! I'm still using clothes that were gifts when she was born.

HarrietJones · 12/04/2011 13:04

6-9m vests mainly 3-6 clothes here. Currently wearing dd1/2 hand me downs so 11 year old t-shirts!

Just had a good lunch of banana sandwiches( usually throws bread but sucked for ages) , grated carrot, grapes, cucumber, strawberries. She's spending ages over food now making sure she's sucked everything!

NoHunIntended · 12/04/2011 13:24

Yeah, hoping now we are introducing solids, he'll have less milk, and I'll be fertile again.

DS was on the fiftieth percentile last week when we got him weighed/measured, so perfectly average. You don't get much wear for your money from babyclothes, huh! :-) So gonna have to have three more babies, just to get my money's worth. :)

I haven't introduced fruit yet - someone told me to do more non-fruits first, so they don't get such a sweet tooth.

floozietoozie · 12/04/2011 15:48

SF Good luck with the op. I don't know if you remember but I said before, I've had it done. Are you in pain with the cyst? If not, hopefully it will be a quick recovery. Btw, with that op they usually pump your abdomen full of gas so it's worth taking heartburn tabs or peppermint tea as you may get referred pain in your upper body, and iirc that can help ease it.

Dd is not overkeen on weaning in the sense that she only has very tiny amounts of things and then starts crying for milk. It may be that she's a bit too hungry when I offer it but the other thing is she got constipated ie didnt go for two days then had hard stools and then back to soft, but she's pooing every time she's fed now. I went through gadzillions of nappies yesterday. It,s payback time for the first few months where she hardly pooed at all. it's such a contrast with ds who gobbled up everything he was offered.

Does anyone have holiday plans for the next few months. I'm just finalising a house swap in the Bavarian Alps for July. Really feel the need for a change of scene soon. Too much domesticity!

HarrietJones · 12/04/2011 16:22

No holiday plans yet, we had this weeks cancelled so still debating now.

TribbleWithoutACause · 12/04/2011 17:06

Nohun That was me and my friends plan as well, we were discussing it as well. Grin

We're both now on antibiotics as I've come down with an ear infection and DS's snot has turned green so has probably got one thing on top of the other. Here's hoping that this will be the end of it.

I also now have biscuits.

HarrietJones · 12/04/2011 17:10

Dd1 /dd2 were weaned approx same time & offereredsimilar foods. Dd1 loved spinach stuff, dd2 liked fruit. Dd1 now is obsessed with chocolate, dd2 loves bread & pasta & rice. So I'm not convinced on the sweet/savoury thing! Dd3 so far prefers cheesy things I think

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 13/04/2011 12:18

I suppose pepper is classed as a fruit too, and courgette. I gave DD some roasted pepper and courgette for the first time last night and she kind of got into a feeding frenzy over them. Definite evidence that she swallowed some too Wink.

I've just bought her a black and white vest from Amazon with Sleep is for the Weak on the front Grin. After last night its remarkably apposite. She was up 4 times and I just knew when I put her down at 0230 that when she next woke it would be for keeps as she was fighting sleep at 0230 as it was. Sure enough she woke me at 0500 and refused sleep after that. I don't know how long she'd been awake chittering away to herself beforehand while I was in deep sleep.

She scared the crap out of me at the end of her nap yesterday. I went into her room expecting her still to be asleep as all was quiet and she was just silently laid there staring at me. It was rather freaky. As I got closer though she wriggled her customary delight at seeing me Smile.

NoHunIntended · 13/04/2011 14:55

Aw, Tribs, get well soon.

Harriet, interesting. Well, we'll probably put him on fruit at the weekend. I've already failed if we are counting pepper as fruit! And heh, yeah, we have the evidence it's getting swallowed too! :) Wink

Ah, they are coming along nicely, aren't they!

Had a major splurge on cloth nappies today (six!), oh dear - I can NOT believe how addictive I have found it. This is one of them, if anyone is interested: www.etsy.com/listing/71994383/green-apple-fairies-toddler-ai2-cloth

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 13/04/2011 19:31

Those nappies look cool NoHun Although I do wonder if that fairy looks as if it is going to the loo! Wink They look really lovely and the type of thing you wouldn't mind having on display iyswim.

Great day here. Not much sleep last night, not feeling very well today, got crapped on by a bird on dog walk, dog rolled in something, got headache, took Bronwen over an hour to settle to sleep. Hard core crying and even now she's still awake but at least can be left as she's singing to herself. Can someone pass me a shovel paracetamol for my head please?!

HarrietJones · 13/04/2011 19:48

Just a quick post to say spaghetti is frustrating but tomato/veg & chilli(!!) sauce is yum!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 13/04/2011 20:05

Well ,she never had a problem bfing when you had curry!

HarrietJones · 13/04/2011 20:53

No I eat a lot of chillies!

sam12 · 13/04/2011 20:55

floozie we are off to Kos next month and we have a wedding to go to in Devon in August so going to make a week of it we are also going via Stonehenge and Poole/Sandbanks area.
Sounds like one of those days Mockingbird
Spring my periods came back around then too
*Tribble hope you're feeling better.
Nohun good luck with making DC2. Me and DH have decided to start trying sooner rather than later for number 2.
DD seems to be a bit better today and her appetite has come back which is good. Was my friends birthday yesterday and we organised her a surprise dinner party which was great fun although the wine was flowing a bit too freely and so I am suffering for it today.

NoHunIntended · 13/04/2011 21:14

Mock, it does a bit! :)
Oh no - bird poo, how horrid!!! Yuck!

sam12, ooh, exciting! Hope it happens for us both soon!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 14/04/2011 10:02

Tried to dye my own hair to save money. Its now what I would class as apricot. Apricot doesn't suit me. I'm normally ash blonde....Off to hairdressers this afternoon to spend a tonne of money on getting it fixed. Brilliant. Hopefully DD will behave herself....Grin.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 14/04/2011 10:24

DD's currently sat in her highchair facing a bear sitting opposite her on the placemat. She's totally still and seems to be trying to outstare it. Doesn't she know that bears give very hard stares?!
