Sam what type of car do you have? Do you take the rear wheels off the spin? I find it makes it easy to fit in the car. I can get it in an Audi TT that way. I bet your DD looked gorgeous as a bumblebee.

Seashells where abouts is the wedding?

NoHunIntended · 02/04/2011 23:46

Tribble, are you back to stay?
I don't get the references in the new name, but glad you are happy (and hopefully back!).

sam, any photos of your bumble bee? I've uploaded a couple of new photos of DS. One in his dragon outfit, which I love!

I have a speedy crawler, and he is actually walking too - aided for balance, but he does the steps keenly. He is still keen on hurling himself off the bed, and doing bunny hops from one end to the other. Nappy changes are harder now, as he just wants to scamper away!
PILs are here for a long weekend, and they are amazed.

Sea, I simply wouldn't go to a childfree wedding, certainly not at this stage, when I am still BFing. I know the childfree wedding is a hotly debated topic on here, but that's my stance. We went to an engagement party the other weekend in Liverpool, taking DS with us. I went home (hotel) at about 10, and DH stayed on (they are his friends more than mine anyway).

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 03/04/2011 08:27

Cardiff, on the Heine kan cup super weekend, so hotels and traffic nightmare!! The venue is fully booked, as Hun that's how we usually manage too normally (pre poverty and toddler!!)

NoHunIntended · 03/04/2011 09:31

Happy Mothers' Day, all of us! :-)

TribbleWithoutACause · 03/04/2011 10:13

Nohun Yeah I'm back, also the name is a referene to these creatures from Star Trek Blush and the rest is a reference to Rebel without a cause.

Oh Happy Mothers Day!!!!

tiredfeet · 03/04/2011 11:06

Happy mothers day everyone!!

seashells I have had to miss out on hen dos, luckily even the childfree weddings we have are saying under ones are ok. We are staying in the same hotel as the reception for a couple, one is a taxi ride away and one is my sisters so ds will have adoring family members to pass him round Grin I wouldn't be able to go if ds couldn't, as haven't got him taking a bottle yet [mainly because I hardly ever remember to try]

HarrietJones · 03/04/2011 18:01

Argh! Think I've undone 6 months of therapy. Can't stand on my right leg, pain all the way up. It slipped to the side pulling my slip!

TribbleWithoutACause · 03/04/2011 18:24

TF My friend has had issues with the bottle (ie he screams like a banshee) but she's used a nuby cup that she got from Boots and has had some sucess with that.

HarrietJones · 03/04/2011 18:38

We've given up on bottles & just using the doidy & me not going anywhere!

HarrietJones · 04/04/2011 10:18

Dd3 sat on my knee stroking my breast saying 'ehwo ehwo ehwo ehwo' :)

Currently having a strop at work over my payslip, they need a 'few days to do the calculations' ...

tiredfeet · 04/04/2011 13:59

Aww how lovely (about dd3) and how irritating of work hj. How's your leg today?

Ds obsessed with helping us drink and trying to have a bit of our drink when we drink from clear glasses, so want to try and find a clear baby cup and see if that works - has anyone seen any?

Flying with ds for first time tomorrow, bit nervous!! Will be on my own as dh going away with work, so I'm heading up north to see family.

HarrietJones · 04/04/2011 15:10

Ooh good luck with the plane, where are you going?

Leg is lot better but I feel like I'm back at the just took the crutches back stage of SPD. Dh made sure everything was on the ground floor for me before he went to work but dd3 has spent all day pooing.

Elsa123 · 04/04/2011 15:29

aah HJ you too have a poo monster...Grin.

TF I've never tried it but I saw someone bf her dc on a plane on takeoff and landing to help clear the ears and prevent pain. You've probably already thought of that.

HarrietJones · 04/04/2011 15:31

Usually v routine but today she has seen the pile of nappies as a challenge!

TribbleWithoutACause · 04/04/2011 16:51

HJ Are you still doing reusables? My DS loves to grab ours and try and stuff them in his mouth. Always fun isn't it, don't know why I haven't tried it yet. Bit of a pain about your work though.

TF Oh are you off anywhere nice???

Looked after my friends little girl today who is a little monkey, she was sat all nice and pretty eating her toast but unfortunately (I should learn) she saw me cutting some labels off of some packages to put them in the bin. Well she spent the next fifteen minutes asking me, 'what you doing?' and I'd say 'cutting labels up?', a few minutes would pass and she'd ask 'what you doing?' and well I answer her again. I tried everything to get her off track, but no the girl would not be swayed. She'd make a great Detective, five minutes with her and anyone would squeal.

SamanthaB123 · 04/04/2011 17:05

Hi Everyone,

Very quick message to say that I've not had internet working properly since I moved house but have read from time to time. I will try to catch up properly soon and post a 'proper' message. Also thinking of a name change seeing as everyone else has but will let you know!

Hope all very well, SB x

HarrietJones · 04/04/2011 17:20

Hi Sam nice to 'see' you

Tribble- not v reliably, can't keep up with 5 people washing + nappies esp with dd2s bedding every day :(

Elsa123 · 04/04/2011 19:18

I'm not using the reusables. They were too bulky to fit in around DD's hip harness and she's a real blaster. I was getting through so many and lots of clothes too, so am on disposables. In any case the ones I had were huge (even though marketed as xsmall) on DD's micro butt.

Just got DD off to sleep without her falling asleep at the breast which was good. Sometimes she's great at it and other times, if she's feeling a bit ropey she's kling baby...

sam12 · 04/04/2011 21:15

Sea one of our weddings is about an hour away and child free so we are leaving dd with PILS. Really not looking forward to it Sad but as I am the best 'man' can't really miss it- though have refused to go on the hen do. One of the others is in Devon but is luckily child friendly so we are going to make a holiday of it,
Elsa I have got a Clio. I think I will start taking the wheels off should make life easier I just find it a pain messing around.
Nohun DH got some piccies of bumblebee will have to round to putting them up. Your DS is a VERY cute little dragon. DD is also starting to take steps when supported but it is all she wants to do.
Harriet thats rubbish about your leg hope it gets better.
Tired I hope the flying goes ok- I'm assuming it is only a short flight. I bet they will get restless little wrigglers when sat there for a while. Hope you have a nice time visiting family.
Tribble I suppose we will have the endless questioning to come- I think it is really cute when you hear them doing it to someone else. Am sure its not quite as cute when being directed at you.
We have been to look at another nursery today and have finally made a decision about which one we want to use. We were really struggling with deciding between two and so went with the one with the better ofsted report in the end. Dh was pleased as he was leaning between that one although I preferred the other but I couldn't deny the massive difference in the league tables.

SpringFlowers · 04/04/2011 21:17

Hi, just trying out a new name...SamB

TysonNobdie86 · 04/04/2011 21:22

Hi spring sam,
Im going to need a notebook with all your names in it Grin
Went and pampered myself today which was good, Sophie was with me and was very good Grin She cried whilst i had my eyebrows done though, i think she could feel my pain Wink

HarrietJones · 04/04/2011 21:31

Hi spring :)

Tyson- we need pampering! Not had haircuts since the summer, will try & get dd1/2 done over Easter.

TysonNobdie86 · 04/04/2011 22:03

My last haircut, before today was when i was 33 weeks pg Shock
Going to dye it red tomorrow :)
Im trying to look half decent as the nobdies are doing a meet up on the 20th Confused

SpringFlowers · 05/04/2011 14:29

All this talk of haircuts has made me take a little look in the mirror. It's quite a while since I last had my highlights done. Maybe time to make an appointment!

Have anyone elses baby's struggled to gain weight? R has dropped from the 50th to the 9th percentile since birth. I don't want to get her weighed again in case she's dropped again Sad. she's not skinny at all, just petite.

HarrietJones · 05/04/2011 14:33

Sorry spring, no problems here although dd3 eats constantly to stay on her line!

Just been shopping & sat her in the high chair while I unpacked. She banged the table & sobbed until I gave her a pear!
