Dd2 got cut :( I favour of kids wanting to be pop stars, but they went from tue angle of wanting to instill ambition into male dominated careers so she wouldn't have fitted in that as she wants to be PM. She is 9 btw.

Glad centre parks was good elsa we like the pod high chairs too.

Tiredfeet- dd3 seemed to slump at first in the chair but after a couple of times stretched up & sat up much more stable so maybe a week or so will be different.

Still on 2 hourly feeds here. Dh now sleeping in other room & taking over at 6 which will stretch to 9 with the school run which means I get a better sleep. Main problem is he can settle her without food & I can't as she just roots

TysonNobdie86 · 08/03/2011 13:03

Shock I think its awful to cut a 9 year old, bless her :(

I have just registered ds and Sophie to do the Barnados Big Toddle in Milton Keynes for 30th June, I know Sophie will not walk it but they welcome the little ones in Buggy's and she will get a medal for doing it which I thought would be nice for when she is older :)
I am very excited about it as its at Gullivers Land aswell so a guaranteed day out there this year Grin

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 08/03/2011 13:38

What a shame nymph :( great ambition though! We are in need of great women in politics :)

We have a sunny day so will chil out for the afternoon in the garden :) dd is sitting up really well now-and is getting very frustrated if the toy is out of reach! 5 months old today!

Elsa123 · 08/03/2011 14:06

Sorry to hear about your DD Nymph, thats pants. Tell her to get a career first before PM- there's nothing more annoying than a career politician with no life experience! I'm sure she'd be great- good ambition to have!

Its lovely up north too Seashells after lunch we'll head off for sunny dog walk with Sir Limpsalot.

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 08/03/2011 15:02

Enjoy! :)

tiredfeet · 08/03/2011 15:05

Oh how rubbish for dd nymph I love her ambition though!

Ds a bit better finally,he was taking piriton and we took a gamble and stopped it and the diarrhoea cleared up instantly! I actually got some sleep last night and feel like a new person now, I was getting veru low. Plus fewer nappies means more time to have fun with ds

Thanks for tip re highchair that's good to know. He's too fat for the inflatable insert!

nohun his eczema is so bad we are using steroids at the moment but once it improves I will definitely try the cream you suggested. Or would it be ok with the steroids? Guess I could ask gp
Can't work the link to admire the nappy!

Love the sound of the big toddle tyson!I did a lot of voluntary work with vulnerable children so that's a cause close to my heart Smile

Hermya321 · 08/03/2011 15:51

We have been swimming today for the first time ever, I thought it would be a nightmare. Boy was I proved wrong, DS was the loudest thing in the whole pool!!

Last night was a rubbish nights sleep though, DS woke up at 11/1am/4am and 5.45am before we decided to give up and actually get up. DH was lovely, he took DS for an hour this morning so I could have an hours sleep.

In other news, the mystery scaly rash that appeared on DS is no longer a mystery. It was eczema, it's not too bad and he doesn't seem bothered by it but we now have some thick gloopy cream that he gets covered in day and night.

Nymph Your DD sounds like she has plans, good for her. Sorry she got cut though.

Elsa I never thought of that, that would save us lots of space.

Nohun Do you still have that link, I'd be interested in looking at it.

nymphadora · 08/03/2011 17:04

Apparently dd2 was on at a different time so all is well Grin we've suggested Law as her career as it's a good route for PM & she can argue black is White!

Glad DS enjoyed swimming hermya dd3 has scaly rash & I think it's eczema but GP yest gave aqueous cream and it's v red today so made another appt for fri as I had similar with dd2.

Hermya321 · 08/03/2011 18:46

Nymph Oh me and my nurse friend had a conversation about aqueous cream, she said that it's pretty much pants for ecxzema and that naughty GP's shouldn't prescribe it. She said if my gp tried to do it to tell him off.

NoHunIntended · 08/03/2011 18:59

nymph, glad your DD got on after all! Will watch this space in 20 years' time (will we still be chatting on MN about our LOs?!) re her Rise to Power! :)

tf, the lotion I mentioned before is this organic SLS-free stuff - I haven't actually tried it, just know about it as I am into all that SLS-free organic blah blah blah! :) I think it's designed to be used INSTEAD of the stuff the doctors give you. www.b-organic.co.uk/pages/Why-B-Organic%3F.html

h, sorry your DS has eczema too - was the link above the one you wanted?

I heard acqueous cream is meant to be used as a replacement for soap, and not actually as a lotion?

And go him re the swimming! Yay! :)

tiredfeet · 08/03/2011 19:06

Thanks nohun he seems to have really turned a corner today so might be able to come off the steroids and give it a try Smile

Hermya321 · 08/03/2011 19:10

Nohun Yeah thats the one I wanted, thanks! Also I think that what my friend was saying, the soap thing rings a bell.

TF Yay for your DS!!!

nymphadora · 08/03/2011 19:57

I thought that with the aqueous stuff too but she said it would help so I thought maybe I had the wrong name for the stuff I had for dd2. Only used it twice anyway. The bath stuff seemed batter though, made her skin v soft & didn't come up red like it usually does.

NoHunIntended · 08/03/2011 20:23

nymph, have you got pancakes on your mind? Wink

Elsa123 · 08/03/2011 20:33

Grin NoHun.

As an eczema sufferer myself I have every empathy with the DCs with it it can really hurt. I thoroughly recommend oat baths. Put a handful of pinhead oatmeal into the foot of a pair of tights and tie it off. Run the bath and soak the oatmeal sponge in the water and use it to cleanse the baby. It gives off an unctuous gel thats incredibly soothing.

Yes aqueous cream is meant to be used as a soap.

hth.

nymphadora · 08/03/2011 21:54

Grin at batter

The aqueous stuff says emolient on it too, nbut it is crap

sam12 · 09/03/2011 00:17

Hi all.
I have been reading all your posts (and composing replies in my head) but haven't got round to posting in a while.
Elsa glad you had a nice holiday
nymph good on your dd!
Tyson the big toddle thing sounds great
tired glad your ds is starting to get better
Hermya swimming sounds fun- I have bought dd a costume just need to get some nappies and we can go too.

I have just posted on another thread about excema- I suffered for years and years and since I stopped all the potions I hvae been clear for 6 years or so. I just think all the chemicals weren't helping my super senstive skin. So now I am a firm believer in not using any of them! Although my resolve is being tested as dd has a patch of it on her head.

Not much is happening here DD is doing well and is a little giggler at the moment- she has had a few tastes of fruit which have gone down well. My friend has asked me to be bridesmaid for her wedding this summer which is very exciting- although I can't believe I've got to my 30s without ever being a bridesmaid before!!

nymphadora · 09/03/2011 11:39

Exciting Sam!

Just had letter from work confirming I have a post to return too not sure where the post is or what team it is etc but don't think they can move me^ too far around the county BUT now it means I will be able to return to work in the summer rather than waiting until September , might be able to drag it out with paid KIT days & A/L

NoHunIntended · 09/03/2011 15:07

Nice hearing from you, sam. I wasn't a bridesmaid until I was in my thirties either!

Good work, nymph. Hope you get what you want.

Just back from our first Baby Massage class. DS wanted feeding or holding most of the time, didn't like being laid on the floor, so we didn't get much done. When I massage him at him, it's either on my lap, or on the bed, nice and high up. Hopefully next week will feel more productive.

Hermya321 · 09/03/2011 20:57

Sam Have fun being a bridesmaid.

Nymph Good news about work.

I think I'm going to take a step back from MN for a little bit. I love it here, but I feel I need a bit of a break to sort some stuff out in RL.

I just thought I'd let you know so you didn't think I'd gone AWOL.

Elsa123 · 09/03/2011 20:58

Great news Nymph! I thought it was illegal for your post not to be available at the end of maternity leave unless you've agreed that it can be given up?

NoHun you have my sympathies, I know that DD would be exactly the same as your DS. Hopefully he'll make the most of what you've learnt in the privacy of his own home! Smile.

TysonNobdie86 · 09/03/2011 21:42

See you soon Hermya, dont forget about us :)

Good news Nymph! Grin

NoHunIntended · 09/03/2011 21:53

"When I massage him at him"?! That should have been "... at HOME". Elsa, he loves it at home, I really thought he'd chill out in the class and let me ensure I was doing great techniques, but no! Little rascal!

H, I considered weaning myself off a bit too! I think I'll cut back, but not disappear!

Elsa123 · 09/03/2011 21:54

X-posted. Bye bye Hermya, we'll miss you! I hope you get your RL stuff sorted. If you need any help, just say. x

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 09/03/2011 23:38

Famous last words Hermya Wink you'll lurk on a night feed and mwahahaha you'll get sucked back in!
Seriously though, I hope things get sorted for you-keep in touch :)

Hi sam-good to hear your news, I've still not been a bridesmaid lol

I need sleep-4hrs last night just doesn't cut it!!
