like i said... 2 sleeping babies on this thread is enough, just knowing they exist is bad - we don't need to read about them too Grin

dh had a mare in my absence tonight. F up til 10pm then A was up til i got in! very rare for either of them to be up in the evening so he was unlucky

curry was great tho

and i'm off out tomo night too to see black swan. he's gonna hate me!

tsc what's nelson mandela like? Wink

chulita Oi! no sneaking off to do your own little meet-ups with the new girl!

right off to con myself into thinking i'm going to bed to get some sleep

hope some of you get some sleep

oh and this'll make you all laugh... i said to dh that as motherhood has become my 'job' at the mo, it kind of makes you guys my colleagues and he replied 'i actually think of them as your colleagues' Grin

Chulita · 25/01/2011 07:42

hotgiggety I was grumpy yesterday just like today and didn't clarify, DD is 2 so we were in CGH in 2008, DS was born in Dorchester but I have not so fond memories of CGH and DD's birth - I was happy not to have to have another one there.

cake I like to think of us as 'sisters in arms' 'colleagues' just doesn't sum up the effort it takes at the mo.

Another absolute shit night, in both senses of the word as S did an almighty toothpaste squeeze around 5 and I let him sit in it til 7. He wasn't happy about it but then he shouldn't have pissed me off all night long. I'm off to do a memphis today at the GPs and try and get allergy testing/dermatologist/dietician appts for the 2 of them...yea right, in reality I'll get fobbed off with another cream and a pat on the head. I really want this pure potion to get here today, I've got hight hopes for it!

S isn't crawling but he rolls back and forth, just doesn't move very far.

Seriously though spirael and nixter I am very pleased for you that your little girlies sleep, long may it last! :)

memphis83 · 25/01/2011 07:54

morning all L woke at 12.30 i gave him a bottle without thinking, we have been giving him water then he slep til 5 and ipropped him on our bed as dh had already lefy and he slept til 7, if he could have a blanket around his head im sure he would sleep all night but i know i cant do it, oh shit ive just poked him in his eye!!!
chulita it think our doctors think of doing a memphis as i go in for a 10 mins app then i cry for 45 then i have to walk through an angry mob in the waiting room!!!! couldnt get through yesterday am trying again today
cakes let us know how film is it looks quite dark, your poor dh clearly hasnt got the nack of getting F and A to sleep like you!!! ooh collegues?! ive never had any of those that i e actually liked and talked to so its nice to say im working with friends!!!

CakeandRoses · 25/01/2011 08:39

wtf is going on with these critters at the mo? I'm hanging onto the fact it's the 6m growth spurt

aurelia fed at 11.30pm, 3.45pm, 5.30am and then i'm not really sure what was going on as she wanted to feed (i think) but kept falling asleep.

felix in bed with us kicking the hell out of 'africa' and shoving his stuffed toys into all the best sleeping places. i woke up this morning to see dh tightly cuddling 'bear' and 'rabbit' Grin

so that was deemed a good night's sleep

the thing that's really doing me in is the way night blends into a freakily early start to the day - e.g. A might be up at 5.30am, she'll wake-up F but go back herself for 15 minutes and it'll kind of rumble on like that with no-one really sleeping til i give up and class it 'morning'.

chulita really hope throwing a memphis gets you some decent help. drives me mad how crap GPs can be with allergies. pure potion sent out our sample really quickly so hopefully yours will be there v soon.

feeling a bit sad that one of my closest friends day off work is tuesdays when F is in nursery so we can't do anything toddler-related together - i'm just going to pop over for a cup of tea. she often doesn't actually take her day off so it's quite rare to even see her during the week now whereas we saw each other almost every day when we were on maternity leave with our pfb. i know times changes but it does make me a bit sad - for our toddlers (who adore each other) as much as anything.

on the bright side, her husband off with their daughter on fridays so i see him instead so they can play together!

Hello

I only looked at the clock at half 6 this morning, I cant remember if he woke up before that aswell, he prob did.

Im going to a friend's house in a bit, I met her at one of the baby groups.

Oh I forgot to say the other day, has anyone else got one of those 3 star membership cards for swimming from the surestart centre?
I got one ages ago, used it on Sat and she said even though all our names are on it she could only discount me as we're not supposed to share a card, we have to have one each. I thought this was really mean. Its not like I bought the card and deliberately tried to con her. The surestart centre sorted it all out I thought they would do it right, obv not. So now Ive got to go down there and see if they'll give me 2 more cards, I doubt they will.
It means DP has to pay £4 for a swim and I only have to pay 2. Pretty expensive for 20 mins of 'swimming' (floating Dylan around).

HotGiggity · 25/01/2011 09:06

Just checking in, we had a pretty good night.

DS went down at about 8, then woke at 2, but put the mobile on by himself and went back to sleep, then up at 3.30 for a feed, then up at 6 and playing in his cot, put the mobile on again etc...

DesperateHousewife do you have to qualify for the cards in anyway? I want to take DS swimming but it costs about £4 just to float him about...

kkfairybrains · 25/01/2011 09:20

Hey all! this is the first oppurtunity i've had to post in what has been a manic few days. Really enjoyed manchester! next time though, i'll be doing a weekend and with lots of money saved up! the trafford centre is just brill! has everything in it!
i missed out on loads of conversations and am feeling very left out! don't have time to post anymore so will be back later..we have injections today :-( hate them.

Chulita · 25/01/2011 09:48

cake they didn't reply to my email so I've ended up buying a pot. Might ring them actually and hassle for a sample :) as for the GP it's off to a bad start cos I can't get an appt til friday

dh you're sailing perilously close to the wind with these sleep habits...
I love swimming and I really want to take the DC but yea, it's so expensive just to bob them around, for the four of us it'd cost a tenner!

fairy glad you had a good time, we expect you to have read everything before you post again Grin Hope the jabs go as well as they can.

S went to 'bed' at 5.30 cos he hadn't slept much and was falling apart, up at 6.30, 8.30, 11.30-0.15, 1.50-3.20, 5-6.30, then I surrendered at 7. Not as bad as mlic 's night judging by fb but still bad enough for me. DH got home from work just as I was getting in bed and wanted toast in bed so we didn't get to sleep til 10.30 which is late in my book.

CakeandRoses · 25/01/2011 10:07

chulita yeah, do chase them as the sample's a reasonable size and it's pricey stuff (but bloody worth it if it works for you!)

stac and dylthan worth you looking at the meetup convo on fb as we're now debating different locations

Stac2011 · 25/01/2011 10:22

DD has no interest in sleep, pity for her I do. Problem is I struggle to get back to sleep after she has woke up. Last night dp tried her for half an hour (5mins) the brought her into bed, where she kicked, wriggled and moved about till dp got up at 7. She then slept for 1 hour.

cakes think your dh is right and just as well we have each other to get through this. Enjoy your day

mlic hope you get decent help at the dietician

chulita give them hell hun. I have noticed R gets acidy (not even a word) when she has fruit like berries and apples. Let us know how you get on

hot that sounds not a bad night but still knackering

dh is dylan still taking porridge before bed? Do you find its settling him?

kk sounds tiring but fun, look forward to hearing all about it

CakeandRoses · 25/01/2011 11:27

yeah, i'm banking on that tsc. have got a deal with sky and jezza kyle for girl-on-girl cage fighting Grin

felix pulled a whole handful of my hair in his sleep last night Angry

OP posts:
memphis83 · 25/01/2011 12:15

dh you get a discount card???? thats not fait we pay £8 for the 2 of us to float L around and dunk him under the water lots, we manage 45 mins now as he has his wetsuit he can manage longer in there!! when we are at centreparcs we are going every day as its free!!!

DesperateHousewife20 · 25/01/2011 13:14

For those who asked: my surestart centre gave me a form which i filled out. They then gave me a 3 star membership card for the local pools. I didn't need anything to qualify just be registered to the surestart centre.

stac the porridge def held but he's refusing the spoon atm so not sure how that's going to go tonight!

my musing of the day...

the friend i went out with last night is a multi-millionaire and she's not getting much sleep either, also her dh is a bit of a twat, truth be told. made me think that happiness really boils down to the basics: love and sleep.

dh the good thing if you both take D swimming is that you can always take turns to have a swim. What we did the first time was I swam first while DH got J changed. We then took him in together for 10-15 mins. I then got J dressed again while DH had a swim.

J seems a bit perkier this morning, though still doing lots of stinky bright yellow poos. Googling suggests it is either teething or rotavirus - I hope not the latter as I took him to a La Leche League meeting this morning and hope I haven't been spreading germs!

6 Shock is he pg? Grin

will imagine salt to be sexy angelina jolie type now. could she be an undercover agent?

so w manages better if he's chewing on finger food further back?

does the lack of bendiness have something to do with the swallowing/moving food issue?
