wss i hadn't thought of that before re nz. that would really bother me as i adore old buildings.

WhatSheSaid · 12/02/2011 23:24

Yeah there are some Victorian buildings but even some of them have been knocked down. When we were house hunting we looked at one house built in 1885 - very rare here - it was lovely - but absolutely tiny. It was lovely to be in an "old" house though, especially as the house I grew up in was built in the 1860s.

The Harbour Bridge in Auckland to the north shore was only built in the 1950s so apart from a couple of suburbs up there that had ferries, every house up there is post 1960 - suburb after suburb of new houses.

Woodlands · 12/02/2011 23:28

oh i would hate to live somewhere with no old buildings!

banana bread must count as one of your five a day. it's fruit, innit? it's quite cake like though. it's yum.

j just woke up for his first feed of the night while I was in the bath, and (touch wood) DH has managed to settle him back to sleep. hurrah! Last night was DREADFUL, he woke at 11.30, 2.30, 4.15 and was then awake till 6.45.

I have jinxed it, he just started crying... night night!

G is crawling everywhere and I really wish she wouldn't, she keeps heading straight for the bowl of dog biscuits. The poor dog keeps getting its food removed until G has gone for her next sleep.

DesperateHousewife20 · 13/02/2011 08:32

I thought Dylan was going to be an early crawler, clearly not.
He can get on to his knees with his face in the carpet.

We had a v nice V-day meal last night, DP did v well.
The eve was quite normal after that, we went to bed (Dylan decided of all nights he didnt want to sleep)
We had sex anyway, really good sex too Grin

memphis83 · 13/02/2011 09:28

cakes my banana bread doesnt have choc chips in but i may add them next time as i make it as my health cake as its the banana that makes it moist so no butter!
tsc thats shit about floor when everything seemed sorted now you will have to kick off to get them to pay for it or will it be an insurance claim! L is still going backwards, but he does look behind to see where he is going then flops onto belly to change direction then starts going back again to get to his chosen target!
today is suppost to be our early valentines day, but i cant look at dh at the mo, yesterday i felt really tired so he took L shopping for 2 hours, he had said he was getting me a new charm for my lovelinks for v day, we dont normally celebrate but he wanted to this year, he comes back and we had a row, i know it sounds childish but i found he had bought me bubble bath for v day as he thought i needed to relax! all him and his family buy me is fucking bubble bath i have enough to last a year, so i said if its a relaxing one i bet its lavender so all i need to do is piss my self and i have the oldlady scent going on, i was right, he always gets me shit after saying he doesnt know what to get me after i say oooh i like this this and this going around shops!!i picked up a dress i loved and he said it looks old lady ish, oh so you dont want me to look like and old lady but he wants me to smell like one!!! he went out to get a take out last night as i had bought lovely steakand refused to make the effort after he pissed me off, so he obviously rang mum for ideas and went shopping and bought me a le creuset heat pie dish i had been eyeing up grr sorry childish rant over, he could spend a fiver on me if it was something that was ME but im now questioning if he knows me at all

Chulita · 13/02/2011 09:35

I should have put 'castle' cos it's a ruined castle but still very cool nonetheless. The garden does back right onto the railway line but it's not a mainline so we don't mind that. Thanks for those points cake I forgot to ask about the boiler Blush

dh glad you had a good night Grin trust you!

tsc you've had a right old run of things haven't you!?!

memphis fwiw DH can never buy me stuff even though I'm seriously the easiest person to buy for. I must point out 10 things I like every time we go into town and yet I still get a yellow candle and liquorice (yes, I love the stuff) at birthday/christmas. He knows me well and loves me lots but presents just aren't his forte.

I just fit into some of my 10s but I know I'm bigger/flabbier than I need to be. I'm in 12 tops though cos my jubblies are absolutely massive Sad can't wait to get my 34Bs back...

Stac2011 · 13/02/2011 18:56

evening all, very quiet on here. How are you all?

mlic you any better?

tsc thats a nightmare hun, can you complain to the company? Is franks any better?

memphis i get that way sometimes, dp can buy a load of crap but as chulita says he doesnt do it on purpose. Hope you's get sorted.

chulita the new house sounds great, is it near your parents?

Need a new thread, wheres spireal with new names? R still not crawling, should i be worried?

CakeandRoses · 13/02/2011 19:10

Didn't make it to brighton as our exit (?) onto the m25 was shut and other routes were affected by that plus roadworks - satnav was saying it would take 3 hours by any route so decided it was too long for just a daytrip and went to cambridge instead and yes, had wagamamas for lunch and chocolate cake for afternoon tea so all was not lost Grin

had a weird night last night - A actually only woke up once at gone 3am but i kept waking up and when i was asleep had the weirdest dreams so feel more tired than usual.

tsc good grief you could do with some decent luck. wish i could help somehow

mlic you alive??!

chulita get all the info and get negotiating!

memphis try not to take the old lady bubble bath to heart. some men just are a bit crap with presents - doesn't mean they don't love or know you - it's just like they overthink it rather than just listen to what you actually say you like. your description of events was funny tho, bless you Grin

who's doing something for valentines day? we don't really celebrate it except for cards. dh's choice as he finds the idea of being told to be romantic on a certain day a bit unromantic but i'm cool with that as he's very romantic and thoughtful the rest of the time (eg buys me beautiful roses most saturdays).

I'd like to do something but children/work are in the way as ever so I think I'm going to make a victoria sponge (one of dh's faves) and cut little heart shaped cakes out with L's cutter. I might also do the sausage stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon with some kind of potato that he likes.

stac it's only about 10 mins drive from my parents so it's perfect really! L didn't crawl til 10 months so I wouldn't be worried at all if I were you.

It's very quiet on here at the mo, you all alright?

July 2010: the weather's still wet, rolling indoors is the best they'll get.

July 2010: weaning's in full swing, the kitchen floor's covered in ming

July 2010: eating, rolling, standing and crawling, if only they'd cut out the night-time bawling (Mindy and Dreya excepted Grin )

July 2010: what were we thinking, if it wasn't for them we'd be out drinking

erm... spirael ?

Chulita · 13/02/2011 19:33

mlic ack! you poor girl Brew put your feet up and I'll run the felix hoover round for you

Woodlands · 13/02/2011 19:40

oh poor mlic.what's wrong?

i like the kitchen floor title chulita!

well J slept much better last night - woke for a feed at 11.45 and then not again until 5.45!!! Then went back to sleep till 8am! I have felt like a new woman today. Had some friends I originally met on another forum over today, it's always fab to catch up with them and we gossiped and ate junk all afternoon. One of them has a gorgeous little 12 week old baby so it was lovely to meet him.

Stac2011 · 13/02/2011 20:12

by the way they were only joke titles, I had no sleep last night so the brain's not ticking on all cylinders :)

woodlands that's a lovely sleep! Hope you get another tonight!

memphis83 · 13/02/2011 20:52

mlic so sorry your all ill, awful timing with looking forward to the night out, hope you feel better tomorrow.
cakes its normally kk that finds my descriptions funny!!! he didnt dare give me the bubble bath and socks i would have shoved them up his arse if he had, he got mea lovely card that had things from our 1st date on it and he feels terrible i told him to stop leaving it til the day before, had good day ice skating and then at Hooters i love the tackiness of it, got L hooters vest and ive asked if they let kids in, kids eat free she said, but i asked if i could take our own food for him she said yes so on dhs birthday im taking them and L will love it he loves ladies!! he has cried for my mum all afternoon, he still isnt right he coughed up so much gunk before bed he was sick with it! so thats my valentines over with, next year we arent going to mark it, and tomorrow i can have a meal for one from m and s!! Grin

Stac2011 · 13/02/2011 21:08

i hate tosalitus mlic you and poor W must be shattered, are you going to the docs to get antibiotics?

memphis is the hooters like you see on tv? Glad you made up.

chulita they were good suggestions even if they were joke ones

Stac2011 · 13/02/2011 21:11

that should be tonsalitus

memphis83 · 13/02/2011 21:18

stac the one in Tenerife is more like on the tv this is more like a sports bar, we went Tenerife last year when i was 3 months pregnant and if i didnt find Hooters i would have starved, nothing suitable to eat wouldnt touch chicken eggs etc and thats all there seemed to be and things that made me sick thinking about eating it then found Hooters i wanted to stay there all day it was fab, light hearted tackiness and amazing fried pickles!!!(they tasted nicer when pg though)

kkfairybrains · 13/02/2011 21:26

Hey y'all..
Memphis i'm dying to see a pic of L in his hooters top!! he's gonna absolutely love you for that when he's older!
Chulita house sounds fab! hope you get it at the right price!
mlic you poor thing. And its horrible when you're out and not feeling well. You'll really have to take it as easy as possible and get yourself over it
tsc og god that sounds horrendous. Will they be held responsible for it or what way will that work? and moan away on here we're all good at that sometimes!
We're not doing anything for valentines. Went to wagamamas today but thats about it. No card or anything. Couldn't be bothered!
Also a girl looked at my car today and fell in love with it so will hear from her in tuesday whether she'l buy it or not.
Still feeling crap and then got my period this eve to top it off so i'm in bed already with cramps.
